    Lemon salmon roll
    Briana N.

Sushi moto is a small but super vibey sushi restaurant with cool decorations, not too expensive food, and attentive service! Plus, the fish tastes pretty fresh! I can see this being a casual and intimate date spot, without venturing into too fancy of a dinner. We got the Fire dragon roll - we mostly ordered this for the spectacle because we saw on the menu that it would be on fire. And it was so cool! It's completely wrapped in foil while on fire, which isn't as cool, but it was still cool regardless. But eating it, this was our favorite that we tried. The eel is so soft, it just melts in your mouth. And the fire in the foil makes the roll so warm and creamy. Which I know isn't something you really want when you think sushi, but it was so good. The rollercoaster roll - I think the taste of this roll wasn't necessarily anything special. It was good and it had a little spicy kick. But what set it apart was the tempura inside gave it some crunchy bits that were fun to eat. Yellowtail tornado roll - I really liked the yellowtail in this roll! But I'm not the biggest fan of jalapeño, so this one was just okay for me. Lemon salmon roll - this roll was really light and refreshing! Probably my second favorite of the night. But the citrus flavor was pretty strong, since it had yuzu sauce and sliced lemon on top. I feel like I would have liked it more if it was just the yuzu without the lemon.

Cozy sushi place with quick friendly service. Sushi was fresh and good value. They have many specialty rolls and each one we tried was great.

This is a good place for flying solo or casual dates. It's located in a tucked away shopping center. The dining is small and intimate and traditional. When I arrived I was the only customer there and no one was behind the sushi bar so it was a little off putting almost like it wasn't even open but soon a nice woman greeted me. I had a spicy tuna hand roll , shaggy dog roll and a miso soup of course. All were tasty!

I loved the ambiance of this place, its small but so cozy and cute and makes you feel nice and comfortable, the sushi was yummy and I loved having the fire right at my table! Our server was wonderful and helpful! It was very fun and a great date spot!

Stopped here for dinner coming home from Cedar Park. It is unassuming in a strip mall with ample parking (Yay!). Once inside it is cozy without feeling overcrowded. We had great service that quickly attended to our needs. It was great to see many regulars stop in while we were eating so we knew it had to be good. The miso soup was great. The Silver Sashimi was fresh and the fatty fish was melt in your mouth delicious. We also had the Avocado Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and the Spicy Tuna Roll. All were delicious and I would recommend. If in the area, this is a great spot for a sushi fix!

Okay, why has nobody told me to go check out Sushi Moto is beyond me. This place is outstanding from service to food. You can just tell quality matters here. We came in for lunch so that of course might affect pricing due to their specials but I highly recommend coming in for them. Great pricing and amazing portions! I got the 2 roll + miso soup special and my partner got the cali roll + chefs choice special. We also ordered some spicy garlic edamame (not pictured sorry, we went into town so fast and could not stop ). The Philly rolls were so dang good and all the sushi pieces from chefs choice were phenomenal. Top quality fish and you could taste it. The area is small and cozy. Feels very home-y and authentic. You feel right at home as soon as you walk in, to the moment you walk out. Parking is not terrible given the amount of shops in the strip mall. 5/5 and will be back again asap!

I have tried their lunch twice now and it is worth it. I get the two rolls and miso soup. Their seating area is small but comfortable. It is table service. You are brought a bottle of water and a menu. Both lunch and dinner. the rolls I have ordered were spicy crab and shrimp tempura both times. They were fresh and filling. Tasted very good. Miso soup was good also. It is never busy during lunch so food is served quickly. Yes, they can do take out. Lunch price is about $15.00 I will be going back

I was in the area and decided to try this place and boy am I glad I did! This cute little sushi spot studio Ghibli inspired, and has some of the best sushi I've had! The decor is so beautiful and the music is great, mostly instrumental versions of the hits! I was seated immediately upon entering. I noticed that some of the chairs were made out of plastic. Particularly the chairs at the table next to me had tape on some of the legs. I was uncomfortable and nervous, sitting in such a fragile chair. I noticed the larger tables had wooden chairs so I asked, and I asked if I was able to use the wooden chair instead. They were so kind and accommodating allowing me to switch chairs, which made me so much more comfortable and able to focus on my meal. I love a place that's accessible to all! I ordered three rolls and they were all delicious! The spicy dragon roll ended up coming wrapped in foil and on fire! Not only was it tasty, it was also a beautiful show. I also ordered green tea It was earthy and warm, just how I like it! The waitress was so attentive and helpful answering all my questions, refilling my water and checking in to see if I needed anything. It was also very reasonably priced. I really like this place and plan on returning.

    Nigiri set

Their rolls were excellent, but I wasn't a big fan of the nigiri. For some reason, the fish just wasn't distinguishable from one another, they all tasted very similar and the toppings/taste were not remarkable. It was a good deal though for the price. I would definitely come back for their rolls though. The flavor profile of the wagyu was amazing! I love that it was initially lit on fire, creating a perfect smokey flavor. The waitress was very nice. I liked the music that was playing (spirited away theme song) in the background when we were there.

The food is tasty. Service is fast and excellent. They do have variety of sushi rolls and it's better than I expected.

You cannot watch the chef prepare your sushi or drink any alcoholic beverages, but the experience is pleasant and quite gratifying. Service was top notch. My miso soup was a total miss (clearly from a package) but the shrimp tempura arrived hot and with just the right amount of batter and crunch. The real winner for me was the surprising Yellowtail Fiesta: yellowtail sashimi dressed with truffle oil, Ponzu sauce, scallions, and Serano slices. My dinner companions were especially delighted with their pepper tuna and sashimi plate. Neighboring tables were served sushi rolls on a flaming platter. Food presentation was artful and impactful. The congenial waitress was willing to write separate checks for us.

Just amazing every single time!! You never leave disappointed!! Very sweet family that runs this small place. If you are lucky enough to get a table, it's worth the wait!

For roughly $60 the wife was full and we had roughly 6 dishes and one cocktail (I was still slightly hungry). Think of it as more of a tapas style ordering. Soft shelled crab - My absolute favorite and by far the best dish! Crispy from the breading, soft shell and subtle crab taste, and to top it off the fried egg adds some creaminess from the yolk. Not greasy at all due to the way it's fried. And who doesn't like a little microgreen to add some freshness to it?! It could likely use a little more salt, and this particular time the yolk was a overcooked. Sushi Tacos - 2nd favorite! You get two, and frankly I prefer not sharing these (although my wife forced me to). It's such a unique dish. Each taco is palm sized. They take a yummy piece of laver (seaweed), coat one side and deep fry it to make a nice hard shell taco casing. Then they fill it with sushi rice, top it with plentiful tuna, add a slice of avocado, and top it with micro greens. Refreshing, light (once you squeeze the tiny lime on top), slightly filling due to the rice, and absolutely delicious. Takoyaki - I'm not a fan, but the wife is. For me it's a texture thing. Even when visiting Japan I didn't enjoy this dish. Honestly though I do think it deserves far more bonito flakes, as the dish is meant to look alive from the waving flakes. Honestly we love this place so much, I always get engrossed in the food so much I forget to take pics. The overall ambience is chill and refined, albeit no white tableclothes, but it acts like it should have them. This location gets busy during dinner time, however during happy hour it's rarely even 1/4 full. Monday's the happy hour is all day!

TLDR: Pro: authentic Japanese restaurant with food prepped to order…read more Con: lunch menu is minimum two item order which wasn't clear, and they prepare the food with way too much salt The restaurant is authentic which was a huge win for me. The lunch menu wasn't very straightforward so when I got my bill in the end I was a little surprised to see it came to $18, instead of $10. I guess I could have asked when I ordered, but the menu clearly lists mackerel is $8.50, so I didn't quite get that the lady/owner/mgr meant you have to order two entree items for the lunch menu, so its not like a typical lunch special at a set price for the listed price. It felt a little deceiving so it wasnt a great feeling, i guess i should have picked up on it when she said two items. But I wish it could have clearly stated that on the menu when i was reviewing it, i would have just opted for one entree on the menu instead had i realized that sooner. The fish was fine but $20/worth idk. I will say the meal was actually cooked to order. The downside for me in terms of the meal was the salt bomb all over my meal, starting with the salad which was a very small amount of greens to the amount of salad dressing they topped it with. The miso soup was made with miso but very strongly seasoned making me want to water it down. The edamame were good but once again so much added salt on it. The mackerel was good, but yet again the excessive amount of salt made it very difficult to enjoy the meal from start to finish. The vibe is a small dining area with minimal frill, and a small counter with seating where the sushi chef is to make rolls/sashimi. The lady is very attentive and the food is made with care, I just wish they would hold back on the salt. I left feeling very parched due to the amount of sodium I ingested from the preparation. Overall this restaurant is a great Japanese restaurant, I wouldn't mind going back. If - minus the miso soup, I wonder if I could request no added salt to my food in the cook process. Aside from how they may have prepped the fish before cooking, if for example it gets pre-seasoned in salt that's one thing, but no additional salt when cooking. I recommend you give it a shot, its a rare find to see a Japanese restaurant ran my a Japanese family, which was a nice surprise.

I started with the gyozas -- filled with chicken and veggies, and really affordable at around $6 for 6. The sauce was delicious, and I shared them with my family, who also thought they were great. You can get them fried or steamed; I went with steamed. Next, I ordered the salmon avocado roll, and it was literally the best roll I've ever eaten. I dipped it in soy sauce, and for those who avoid preservatives, they even offer a soy sauce with just soy, wheat, salt, and water -- perfect for me! I ended up ordering four orders of six rolls (yes, they were that good) and ate them all by myself. Each order was about $9, with $7 for just salmon -- avocado was an add-on. The Sexy Mango roll was my mom's favorite -- she said it tasted refreshing. We also tried sashimi sushi, which was served in a cool cup and tasted amazing. My brother went all out and ate 30 avocado rolls, and the chef was kind enough to give him a super-sized sushi with extra avocado and rice -- I was so jealous! I also tried the Beef Bulgogi, which was delicious and priced at about $13 -- very reasonable. Around 4:00 pm on Saturday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, which made it perfect to enjoy our meal. The K-pop music in the background was a fun touch, too. Seriously, the salmon avocado rolls were the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back next time I'm nearby!

The quality of the fish seemed decent, but I wish there was more of it in the roll. And I wish the wasabi was a little stronger. The chicken udon bowl was probably my favorite of the night. The udon itself was the perfect texture and really bouncy. The broth was deep and had a rich sweetness. And the chicken was really juicy. The chashu ramen was okay though. I wish the noodles were cooked a little more, I wish the pork was more tender, and I wish the egg was jammier since the whole yolk was basically hard boiled.

I should have known trouble was on the way when we walked in and we were sat right next to the counter with a view of the sushi "chef."
