The place is very clean. The food is fantastic, service is always great. My favorite place to have sushi.

Ghama Zone is one of the few Korean restaurants in Austin that is truly memorable for me. They have an expansive menu ranging from Korean food including stews, meats, and rice cakes all the way to sushi. We got our food fast and service was good. It is a quaint little place, not too big of a space so luckily they did not have a wait when we went. I give it a five star review because of the sushi. The food for me was good, not the best like not great, but it does satisfy the Korean food craving. Presentation of dishes was so nice and fun, the sushi was on fire literally. They start you off with banchan-kimchi, macaroni, onions, and fish cake. It's standard, nothing outstanding, but they do give free refills! 1. Taimatsu Roll - My favorite dish we ordered. It's saucy and has a nice play on textures because of the crispy fried bits on top. It is stuffed with a sizeable piece of tuna and has a sweet mayo sauce. It is definitely more fusion leaning rather than traditional. 2. Dak-Galbi - A spicy chicken dish with sweet potato matchstick slices and rice cakes. There could be more rice cakes and flavor. It was not spicy at all, more of that sweet savory taste you get from gochujang based dishes. The chicken was super tender and there was a good amount! 3. Beef Rib Stew - This was a warming stew with glass noodles, it is a basic soup that is salty and peppery (some may think it's bland). It comes with a bone in beef rib that is fall off the bone tender! Overall, while the food wasn't the most outstanding, I would definitely come back to try other items (namely the sushi). I would also love to try the inari tofu pockets I see online (not sure if they still have that though since I don't think I saw that on the menu). Really enjoyed our experience here on a Saturday night. We waited about 10mins to sit at the bar. We came for the beef rib soup and will return for it. It's a simple light broth with clear noodles. Been here a few times and finally getting around to writing a review/ it's located in downtown round rock and there's street parking or a parking garage nearby. The restaurant isn't super big but never had an issue getting seated pretty quickly. Came in for lunch on a Tuesday to order the short ribs and wow, it was delicious. It's a little pricey but a good portion to share! We ordered a few sushi rolls as that's a newer addition to the menu and they were good, but I prefer sushi elsewhere. So since the last review--they've changed their menu a bit and added sushi. I haven't had a chance to try those options yet because that short rib has a chokehold on me. But I want to because they look good every time I see a plate walk past. I love that this place is always filled with folks who are enjoying the food and the company. It's always really homey here. They have changed the lunch menu since the last time I was there, so I decided to try the sushi roll combo. I wasn't impressed. The eel roll didn't have enough eel on it; it was mostly rice. Absolutely yes. I'll tell everyone I know to go here. It's so good and I can't wait to go back for the food. I saw an Instagram ad and once I saw the Sake Don, I was hooked. Mouth drool My husband and I took our baby with us (during the day) and I found that they were polite about it. Other kids and young babies were there too, so I'd say it's kid friendly, during the day! It is a small space and I feel like it can echo if depending on where you sit. The restaurant is split from a sushi bar and a table section. Next date night without the kiddo, I'm for sure going back! The servers were nice. They didn't really explain anything about the restaurant or food options. In my opinion it's always nice when you're given a break down but I did already review the menu before going in, so I wasn't at a complete loss. Welcome environment, friendly service, and extensive menu at Ghama Zone! I wish the menu indicated vegetarian items, but talking with the waitress I was able to make some modifications. I ended up ordering the fried potato appetizer (super delicious) and the tteokbokki with no fish cakes and added ramen noodles and soft tofu. THE BIG: Located in downtown Round Rock, right on the strip. This Korean restaurant hits hard! Plenty of street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: My friend and I came here right as it opened and it was already busy! Fortunately there were still tables and we were able to snag one. Foodwise, we got the social media star: Ghama Hansang spicy pork along with the tteokbokki carbonara with truffle and bulgogi kimbap. The Ghama Hansang came in a beautiful bento box format that resembled banchan. The meat you get to choose from spicy pork or bulgogi. The tteokbokki carbonara was a different flavor profile that was great. The only thing I didn't like about it was the truffle add-on. It was an extra $3 and the truffle didn't seem fresh. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall we spent around $130 for everything. So good and I'm definitely going to be back to try more stuff on the menu! read more

went here cuz i saw it was recommended for places around round rock. the service was nice and it wasn't too busy though we came on a monday around lunchtime. we only got the short rib steak so i don't know what the rest of the menu is like, but the meat was so tender and so good with the sauce they give you. the portion was enough for three people but it is on the priceyyy side. the short rib steak was $70 so it better have lived up to the hype. it was good enough to where i would get it again if i was making ball lol. i def wanna come back n try the other things next time i'm in round rock. read more

This is a true hidden gem, and I don't use that phrase lightly! I've been meaning to find somewhere that does tofu skin pockets in Austin, and stumbled across Ghama Zone. EVERYTHING THAT I GOT WAS AMAZINGG! they really perfected their techniques the seafood pancake was cut up and crispy like a hash brown with bits of octopus and green onion. i wish there was more meat, but it kept me coming back for another piece anyways - with that tangy and light dipping sauce the short rib steak was INSANE! so tender and each part of the meat had a slightly different texture, ranging from melt in your mouth to a slight chew. that sauce was even tangier than the pancake sauce, and coated the meat well. the price is a bit steep but it's a must try maybe for a special occasion. and of course my tofu skin pockets YUMM my favorites were the shrimp which was very mayo forward and rich and the crab all in which had crispy onions (?) on top that was nice. overall i will be takin my friends to come back read more

I love that a Korean restaurant is added to downtown Round Rock. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get seated quickly. The restaurant is clean and the staff are all friendly. Since it was a hot day, I ordered myself a bibim makguksu, a cold spicy noodle dish. The dish was absolutely perfect. It was chilled, refreshing, moderately spicy, and filling. The vegetables added a good crunch and paired very nicely with the buckwheat noodles. My partner ordered the carbonara tteobokki with mozzarella as an add on. The dish was just as as mine, but very different because its a hot (temperature) dish. The sauce was creamy and oh so very flavorful. It had that umami flavor, you can taste the mushroom, bacon, etc. The cheese was slightly torched and is melted. The rice cakes were nice and chewy. Altogether, it tasted really good. Cute, quaint place in downtown Round Rock. The staff said they aim to serve upscale Korean food, though there's no white table cloth service, the prices definitely suggest that it should be. Honestly, it's so overpriced that no good Korean in their right mind would come here more than once. That said, the food was exceptional and likely the best tasting food in the Austin Area. The biggest letdown was the lack of banchan, there was only 3. DO NOT order the soju, it's outrageously priced. Even the staff admitted they wouldn't pay those prices, and they even shared they only get a small discount on food and no free meals even after working full shifts. I'd rate this place much higher if they treated their staff better and if the prices made more sense. Still the restaurant was packed, as I guess people are drawn to the taste. Got the sampler with bulgogi. Standard bulgogi at best, little on the blander side. The display of the sampler was beautiful; if aesthetics were important for me, this would get a lot of extra points. Flavor wise though, I didn't think much stood out. This restaurant has lots of seating and is pretty spacious. Service was pretty quick and they do provide banchan (kimchi, radish kimchi, fish cake, mac n cheese) but unsure if it is refillable. We ordered a few dishes to family style: sweet chili wings, rose tteokbokki, beef rib soup, and bulgogi kimbap. I also ordered the crazy pork tofu pocket and fried salmon seaweed pocket to ry. The sweet chili wings were good though not very spicy. They were piping hot and crispy and I believe there were 6 to the order. The rose tteokbokki was alright. It was much cheesier than I anticipated and not as spicy as I thought it would be. It does cost extra for their to be protein included and the portion itself comes with just rice cakes. We were nervous that the bulgogi kimbap would be too small to share, but the portion size is actually pretty big and each slice was still bite sized. Nothing super memorable about the taste, but was still good. The beef rib soup didn't have much of a flavor profile to it, mainly just salt and peppery. The beef rib is HUGE and tender and there are some clear noodles at the bottom of the bowl. It's a little harder to share this because it is a soup. As for the pockets, the pork tofu pocket was the better of the two, although I wish it came out hot. It was room temperature and the cheese didn't really pull. The fried salmon pocket was crispy but again nothing stellar about it. Glad I got to try this place out! read more

I've always loved the Korean food here, and when I came back this time, I noticed they added more sushi to the menu. I tried their signature 8-piece nigiri, and the fish was super fresh. Every topping matched perfectly, and it was honestly incredible. The plating was beautiful too, you can really feel the love and effort they put into it. We ordered the tofu pockets, which I enjoyed, and the overall flavors were alright but they were quick 2 biters for me. The biggest drawback is the pricing in my opinion. Their galbi jjim is $72, with an additional $3 just to add cheese, which feels a bit excessive. On the plus side, the ambiance is nice and moody, and we went during a quiet time. When more people came in than expected, the staff accommodated everyone without issue. Overall, decent food and atmosphere, but the high prices make it hard to justify coming back often. I went once and I don't think I have much desire to go back due to high pricing. read more

Service was okay but didn't seem as though the team was very experienced or trained well. Thankfully the main entrees were good but the sides tasted like they were served out of the jar and not made in-house. We loved the food at Ghama Zone! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The bibimbap was colorful and delicious, the short ribs were perfectly tender and juicy (though it took over 25 mins to get), and the seafood pancakes and dumplings were crispy and satisfying. My husband and I love Ghama Zone!! The food is always 10/10. The only place I get ribs at, they literally fall off the bone. The atmosphere is more upscale compared to other restaurants on main street. It's easy to feel like you're removed from the bar scene eating here, which I do enjoy. I had high expectations for this place. I love korean food very easily. it doesn't take much for me to enjoy korean food. i understand the modern take element, however, it fell very flat in honoring the authentic taste of the korean dishes we tried. 1. truffle potato pancake - firstly, it was SOAKED in oil. i promise i am not exaggerating for a review. this is our go-to appetizer with the group of friends i went with. none of us wanted to finish it cause it was so much grease drenched in the thin potato pancake. idk if they need to fry it at a higher temp or smt but it was not cooked with the right technique. and for $20, it felt very overpriced for the flaky parm with a dollop of mediocre truffle aioli. 2. kimchi stew - this was a strange good & not-good mix. the broth is really meaty which i can appreciate but strangely it taste more like a yukgaejang than a kimchi stew. idk if they want to intentionally sugarcoat the sour fermented flavor of kimchi stew but i barely tasted the kimchi in the broth. seems like they used the same kimchi as their banchan so it didnt add much to the broth. seemed pointless. there was a LOT of meat in it. i know thats not something to complain but it felt really disproportionate. they used firm tofu, not soft tofu. my conclusion is. label it as something else cause i barely got kimchi in the broth and this is my go-to and i'm easily satisfied. 3 . tofu pockets - they were a good size. sturdy structure. not too salty, not too overseasoned. good proportion of rice to toppings. my vegetarian friend enjoyed the avocado mayo one, it was a nice light mayo. the seafood pocket is an enjoyable bite. 4 . short rib - the texture was the most impressive part to me. my friend enjoyed it more cause it has a sweeter marinade on the plating with the meat and the sauce on the side is a light sweet soy sauce (?). in my opinion, having two sweet sauces on the meat feels very redundant in taste. esp since the spring onion salad also had a sweet-vinegary dressing. the similar flavors started to become muddied which was a shame cause the cook of the short ribs was great. if the ribs had a more savory or garlicky flavor paired with sweet components, i wouldnt have gotten bored of the taste as quickly. 5 . beef rib soup - broth was good, very little noodles for how big it was...? the ratio of the soup to soup filling is strange in conclusion, i was sadly disappointed. i feel like they struggle with balance in terms of ratio of a dish & the sweet/acidic/salty elements of a dish. i would expect a restaurant who charges these high prices would put that into consideration more. this is my genuine constructive feedback so i will leave it at that. read more

I am so excited to discover a delicious Korean restaurant in downtown Round Rock. If you can't find street parking in front, there is a lot in the back where you can park for free. **SERVICE** We went for lunch on a Sunday and there were plenty of seats available. They have both counter and table seating. Our server was attentive and checked in with us to refill the side dishes throughout our meal. **FOOD** - Bulgogi Pocket & Kimchi Shrimp Pocket (5/5) - I was super intrigued by their pockets since I've never had them before and wow these were incredible. You get the option of either having with tofu or wrapped in seaweed. We got the bulgogi one with tofu and shrimp one with seaweed which I think were perfect pairings. - Bulgogi Hot Pot (5/5) - I wanted a soup dish with noodles and this did not disappoint. I love the little cauldron it came with. The pot has glass noodles in it but the dish also comes with a side of rice. I initially thought it was pretty small but I was surprised how full I became by the end of it. I would say it was the right portion for me. - Bibimbap (4.5/5) - It's been awhile since I had bibimbap and I would say this was pretty good. I loved the soup that it came with on the side.
