Solid food and great service! I really liked the banchan (they were very generous with refilling), and the spicy galbijjim was full of flavor. I haven't found anything like it in Austin! Recommend adding the cheese on top as well. A bit pricy, and lines can be long.
We had a delicious dinner. My husband had the Chirashi bowl and I had the bulgogi. Both were yummy. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and the service was great! This was our second visit. We came right after opening and were so happy to see the restaurant thriving.
I came here for one reason and one reason only: the short rib steak, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The meat was perfectly tender and sweet. Definitely shareable between 2 people with protein goals. I'd return just for this dish alone, although it is pretty pricey at $68. The gokahi roll and tteokbakki were good as well. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time as there was a wait when I came during a weekend dinner.
There was a 30 minute max wait on peak sunday dinner. Food and service is really good. I enjoyed the spicy raw fish rice more than the beef rib soup. Both were still good though. But there is still a lot more on the menu to try.
Overall okay-good! The service was friendly but could've been more attentive with picking up trash on our table (e.g., chopsticks paper), refilling water, and seeing when we wanted to receive the check. It also would've been nice to be told in advance of what was unavailable on the menu before going through 4+ items and finally choosing dishes to eat. Short rib steak was extremely tender but leaned on the sweeter side. The truffle potato pancake was well-liked! Perfect for someone craving a fried food and cheese. We enjoyed the bibim mukguksu because it was balanced and refreshing. Would come back to try the original dishes we wanted next time.
Really enjoyed our experience here on a Saturday night. We waited about 10mins to sit at the bar. We came for the beef rib soup and will return for it. It's a simple light broth with clear noodles. The menu is pretty extensive so we will be back to try more. Table next to use ordered the tteokbokki and pretty large portions. I was full just looking at it. They have sushi bar top seating and regular seating. No outdoor seating.
Ghama zone was great! the service was okay. i stopped by for lunch and got a Chirashi bowl. it had a lot of thoughtful touches, like seasoned rice with a layer of imitation crab and tobiko, and each fish was such high quality with its own seasoning on top. it was definitely the best chirashi bowl ive had so far. the space was really clean and open, which definitely added to my experience. i would definitely come again.
We came here 30 minutes after it opened on Sunday for lunch and was informed that they're sold out of the short rib steak. This was terrible news as that's what we came to the restaurant for. Since we're already here, we decided to order the bossam and rose tottebokki. The banchons here kinda sucked to be honest and they didn't give us much table space. They had to Tetris pretty hard when our food arrived. The bossam and rose tottebokki was pretty good but I don't think it quite justifies the price. We asked our waitress and she suggested that we call ahead of time if we want to try to short rib steak since it's not always in stock and there's a 20 minutes prep time. Overall, it's a pretty average Korean restaurant and not really worth the drive if you live in Austin.
So since the last review--they've changed their menu a bit and added sushi. I haven't had a chance to try those options yet because that short rib has a chokehold on me. But I want to because they look good every time I see a plate walk past. I love that this place is always filled with folks who are enjoying the food and the company. It's always really homey here. Their banchan still slaps. Their kimchi is so good and I feel like I go through so many new refills. Soups: I will say I love their soups and always have to order one. Their pork bone soup and beef rib soups are sooooo good. They are easily shareable for 3-4 people.
First timers here after we'd heard this restaurant was worth a try. Beef bulgogi was super fresh with a nice sauce and subtle flavors. It wasn't too salty as can be places. Equally good on rice and/or made into little wraps with the romaine lettuce provided. The banchan that came with the meal was a tasty precursor and fun to sample as we waited. The marinated jalapeño onions slices were very tasty. The kimchi was on pointe and the pasta/ fish saucy sauce was tasty too. The spicy chicken entree was tasty and saucy. I'd definitely order the bulgogi again. There was plenty for two of us and we could have gotten an appetizer instead of the chicken dish and would have been full. We took most of the chicken home for lunch tomorrow. We'll be back!
Fusion but yummy. Parked in the back for free. Located in the beautiful historic round rock downtown. The food were all great! Celebrated my friend's birthday who's family to me! We came without reservation but it was right when they opened at 5pm for dinner. Our server was nice. They give military discount! We loved everything we ordered! The only thing is they don't have crafted drinks I think. But we still overall enjoyed celebrating in Ghama!!!
The food here is SO GOOD! worth every penny and I usually have plenty of leftovers for a second meal later.
This place is probably one of my favorite Korean spots. Totally worth the 30 minute drive from downtown Austin. They serve up authentic Korean cuisine that's hard to hard here. Everything is huge portions so family style is a must. I recommend going with more than one other person - otherwise you might end up like us - over ordering beyond our table size.

I have been wanting to try this Ghama Zone ever since they opened. We came on a Friday at 6pm and were very lucky to be able to get a table. I don't believe they do reservations but shortly after we were sat there was a waiting line. The restaurant was at full capacity with people at the sushi bar and regular tables. When entering you were promptly greeted and the staff was friendly. We ordered: * Chirashi - 5/5 super fresh sashimi and the presentation was beautiful. The bowl came with some pickled onion and cucumber of some sort. Served with a salad and seaweed paper * spicy pork - 5/5 it's not blow your head off spicy on the first bite but the more you eat the spicier it gets. I was making me break a sweat! This paired really well with the banchan. It's served with a bowl of rice. * complimentary banchan- 4/5 kimchi, seasoned onion, fish cakes, and an elbow salad . The kimchi and seasoned onion were my favorites. The fish cake was ok but it was a bit fishy. The elbow salad was bland. These banchan came in small little bowls and we had to ask our waiter to refill the banchan since there was 4 of us. * unagi nigiri- 5/5 the unagi was so good! One of the best unagi I had in a while! It was the perfect amount of sauce and I wish I would have ordered another one. * hotate nigiri- 5/5 like wow! I was pleasantly surprise the freshness of the scallop and it just melted in your mouth. It was smoky and idk what sauce they brushed the scallop with but it made the perfect bite. I also wished I ordered a second one of these. * salmon nigiri- 4/5- it was a good salmon nigiri. Wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good Note: I originally wanted to get their big spread bento box with all different types of Korean food that they had when they first open. But I was sad and disappointed to hear they had discontinue that. The only bento box presentation they do is the sushi. I really kicked myself for not coming sooner when they had that so I can try a little bit of everything they had on the menu with the large bento box spread. Do I recommend this place? Absolutely the vibe is great and the service is great. This place is a great date night gem and a casual treat your self to a great meal! I definitely recommend trying this Ghama Zone! They have a massive menu and you can eat Korean food and sushi :) best of both worlds! The sushi is high quality too! We can wait to come back to try their other dishes! read more

First time in the area and omg town is so cute! It was a sizzler of a day so really wanted some cold noodles! Was greeted warmly and sat at the bar. The menu was a little confusing but my waitress explained everything to me nicely. I was looking through photos on yelp and pointed to a seared scallop dish that was on older menu but the chef was kind enough to make it for me! I ordered a few nigiri, skewered pork belly and the cold noodles. Omg the sushi and nigiri were perfect! No fishy smells and textures was lovely! The pork belly threw me off a bit? It was deep fried in panko batter but still good! Then cold noodle with the sides was honestly my favorite so refreshing and just perfect! Usually it's too sour for me but I love how balanced it is! I hope to stop by this town again read more

Absolutely yes. I'll tell everyone I know to go here. It's so good and I can't wait to go back for the food. I saw an Instagram ad and once I saw the Sake Don, I was hooked. Mouth drool My husband and I took our baby with us (during the day) and I found that they were polite about it. Other kids and young babies were there too, so I'd say it's kid friendly, during the day! It is a small space and I feel like it can echo if depending on where you sit. The restaurant is split from a sushi bar and a table section. Next date night without the kiddo, I'm for sure going back! The servers were nice. They didn't really explain anything about the restaurant or food options. In my opinion it's always nice when you're given a break down but I did already review the menu before going in, so I wasn't at a complete loss. The sushi and fish items I ordered were extremely fresh. You really can't go wrong with this place. I liked the Korean food options they had and it felt like there were quite a few things to choose from. Parking: free parking located in the garage right a crossed the street. read more

Shocked to find such an amazing Korean restaurant just outside of Austin in Round Rock. I had honestly started to give up on Korean food after moving here from Dallas--cough Carrollton, IYKYK--but Ghama Zone reminded me what good Korean food is actually like. Unfortunately, I was too busy eating and socializing to take many photos, but the bossam in particular really stole the show. It was soft, flavorful, and not funky at all, which is one of my biggest pet peeves with bossam. It also came with lettuce leaves and soybean paste, which made every bite so satisfying. Their soup, which I did manage to photograph, was also amazing. The broth was clear yet refined and full of flavor. The beef rib had more meat than I could even finish and was incredibly tender. Overall, Ghama Zone is a great spot if you live nearby and are craving solid, comforting Korean food around Austin. read more

Located in downtown Round Rock - Ghama Zone is a fun place to fill your Korean Food needs. My husband and I came on a Sunday for lunch and were seated immediately. There were alot of servers training, so it looks like they are focusing on service. The ambiance is modern with a few tables and bar seats. As you wait for your food, there is 4 different kinds of banchan to snack on. All were very tasty. I loved the tofu pockets! We had the bulgogi and shrimp on. Highly recommend ordering a bunch to try - I preferred tofu over seaweed. My husband and I also shared the Ghama Hansang with Bulgogi. It's pricey, but I loved trying a bunch of different items! I wished I could have switched out the raw food, because I was pregnant. My husband said it was salty. Overall a great spot for lunch and dinner. read more
The tofu wraps are only available for lunch. Dinner time is more of a sushi restaurant, though they still have many Korean main dishes. I love both dishes we got. Bibimpap is not served in a stone bowl, but it's still good. Free refill for side dishes read more

THE BIG: Located in downtown Round Rock, right on the strip. This Korean restaurant hits hard! Plenty of street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: My friend and I came here right as it opened and it was already busy! Fortunately there were still tables and we were able to snag one. Foodwise, we got the social media star: Ghama Hansang spicy pork along with the tteokbokki carbonara with truffle and bulgogi kimbap. The Ghama Hansang came in a beautiful bento box format that resembled banchan. The meat you get to choose from spicy pork or bulgogi. The tteokbokki carbonara was a different flavor profile that was great. The only thing I didn't like about it was the truffle add-on. It was an extra $3 and the truffle didn't seem fresh. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall we spent around $130 for everything. So good and I'm definitely going to be back to try more stuff on the menu! read more
Been here a few times and finally getting around to writing a review/ it's located in downtown round rock and there's street parking or a parking garage nearby. The restaurant isn't super big but never had an issue getting seated pretty quickly. Came in for lunch on a Tuesday to order the short ribs and wow, it was delicious. It's a little pricey but a good portion to share! We ordered a few sushi rolls as that's a newer addition to the menu and they were good, but I prefer sushi elsewhere. Service has always been super slow whenever we come so if you're in a rush, something to be mindful of. read more

Everything was top quality and delicious! We ordered seaweed salad, specialty eel roll (forgot the name), seottok seottok, galbi jjim, and pork stew. Everything was super flavorful. My favorite was the pork stew that packed a peppery punch that was so addicting. There are so many more dishes on the menu that I'm looking forward to trying! Only room for improvement might be the banchan which were pretty basic/forgettable, but hey I'm not one to complain on the free sides! read more

They have changed the lunch menu since the last time I was there, so I decided to try the sushi roll combo. I wasn't impressed. The eel roll didn't have enough eel on it; it was mostly rice. The spicy crab tasted fine, but wasn't anything special. I will stick to their Korean dishes next time. My son did enjoy his pockets. Service was good, and I enjoy how cozy this place is. read more
Ghama zone is fun and tasty. I highly recommend the bulgogi soup. Service is kind and ambiance is good for a date or a quiet evening. They recently expanded the menu to have a lot of Japanese item. Haven't tried those, I tend to stick to Korean meals. read more
Welcome environment, friendly service, and extensive menu at Ghama Zone! I wish the menu indicated vegetarian items, but talking with the waitress I was able to make some modifications. I ended up ordering the fried potato appetizer (super delicious) and the tteokbokki with no fish cakes and added ramen noodles and soft tofu. It was a super delicious combination and I had enough to bring leftovers home. Would love to go back during lunch to try the tofu pockets! read more
This is a true hidden gem, and I don't use that phrase lightly! I've been meaning to find somewhere that does tofu skin pockets in Austin, and stumbled across Ghama Zone. EVERYTHING THAT I GOT WAS AMAZINGG! they really perfected their techniques the seafood pancake was cut up and crispy like a hash brown with bits of octopus and green onion. i wish there was more meat, but it kept me coming back for another piece anyways - with that tangy and light dipping sauce the short rib steak was INSANE! so tender and each part of the meat had a slightly different texture, ranging from melt in your mouth to a slight chew. that sauce was even tangier than the pancake sauce, and coated the meat well. the price is a bit steep but it's a must try maybe for a special occasion. and of course my tofu skin pockets YUMM my favorites were the shrimp which was very mayo forward and rich and the crab all in which had crispy onions (?) on top that was nice. overall i will be takin my friends to come back read more
I love that a Korean restaurant is added to downtown Round Rock. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get seated quickly. The restaurant is clean and the staff are all friendly. Since it was a hot day, I ordered myself a bibim makguksu, a cold spicy noodle dish. The dish was absolutely perfect. It was chilled, refreshing, moderately spicy, and filling. The vegetables added a good crunch and paired very nicely with the buckwheat noodles. My partner ordered the carbonara tteobokki with mozzarella as an add on. The dish was just as as mine, but very different because its a hot (temperature) dish. The sauce was creamy and oh so very flavorful. It had that umami flavor, you can taste the mushroom, bacon, etc. The cheese was slightly torched and is melted. The rice cakes were nice and chewy. Altogether, it tasted really good. Their banchan was also good. I enjoyed snacking on the kimchi, pickled radish, tofu while waiting for the food to arrive. read more

It was very clean and calming inside the restaurant. The music was nice and we felt very relaxed. The hot pot was amazing, a nice sweet and savory broth. If you like sweet bulgogi, you'll like it. I especially liked the little side dishes that came out with the dish. Also ordered the Kanisu sushi roll. Dipped in wasabi shoyu mix it was amazing! So refreshing and light. 5 pcs was the perfect amount for myself. read more

Came to check out their new sushi menu and it is DELICIOUS!! The chef truly knows his fish and the perfect pairings to go with it. The prices are fair and very similar to other sushi restaurants in the area actually a bit cheaper. Ghama will forever be the place I go for comfort food!! read more
The food is absolutely delicious! I wish the meat was a little hotter when our waitress brought it to the table. It was full of flavor with every bite. All of the wait staff were very professional and attentive, keeping the refills coming without us asking. The space is nice and cozy with plenty of natural light flowing through. Plenty of dining space and tabletop space to accommodate the dishes. Treat yourself the next time you're in Round Rock! read more
Got the sampler with bulgogi. Standard bulgogi at best, little on the blander side. The display of the sampler was beautiful; if aesthetics were important for me, this would get a lot of extra points. Flavor wise though, I didn't think much stood out. The soft shell crab was probably my favorite thing, but I couldn't remember much else. Standard bonchon flavors too and wasn't a big fan of the kimchi cabbage. read more
Cute, quaint place in downtown Round Rock. The staff said they aim to serve upscale Korean food, though there's no white table cloth service, the prices definitely suggest that it should be. Honestly, it's so overpriced that no good Korean in their right mind would come here more than once. That said, the food was exceptional and likely the best tasting food in the Austin Area. The biggest letdown was the lack of banchan, there was only 3. DO NOT order the soju, it's outrageously priced. Even the staff admitted they wouldn't pay those prices, and they even shared they only get a small discount on food and no free meals even after working full shifts. I'd rate this place much higher if they treated their staff better and if the prices made more sense. Still the restaurant was packed, as I guess people are drawn to the taste. But as for me, I won't be back because of the price. read more

This restaurant has lots of seating and is pretty spacious. Service was pretty quick and they do provide banchan (kimchi, radish kimchi, fish cake, mac n cheese) but unsure if it is refillable. We ordered a few dishes to family style: sweet chili wings, rose tteokbokki, beef rib soup, and bulgogi kimbap. I also ordered the crazy pork tofu pocket and fried salmon seaweed pocket to ry. The sweet chili wings were good though not very spicy. They were piping hot and crispy and I believe there were 6 to the order. The rose tteokbokki was alright. It was much cheesier than I anticipated and not as spicy as I thought it would be. It does cost extra for their to be protein included and the portion itself comes with just rice cakes. We were nervous that the bulgogi kimbap would be too small to share, but the portion size is actually pretty big and each slice was still bite sized. Nothing super memorable about the taste, but was still good. The beef rib soup didn't have much of a flavor profile to it, mainly just salt and peppery. The beef rib is HUGE and tender and there are some clear noodles at the bottom of the bowl. It's a little harder to share this because it is a soup. As for the pockets, the pork tofu pocket was the better of the two, although I wish it came out hot. It was room temperature and the cheese didn't really pull. The fried salmon pocket was crispy but again nothing stellar about it. Glad I got to try this place out! read more

went here cuz i saw it was recommended for places around round rock. the service was nice and it wasn't too busy though we came on a monday around lunchtime. we only got the short rib steak so i don't know what the rest of the menu is like, but the meat was so tender and so good with the sauce they give you. the portion was enough for three people but it is on the priceyyy side. the short rib steak was $70 so it better have lived up to the hype. it was good enough to where i would get it again if i was making ball lol. i def wanna come back n try the other things next time i'm in round rock. read more
