EJ's is a new restaurant that serves AYCE hotpot and sushi. Naturally after hearing about it my friends and I scrambled to give it a try. They're still in their soft opening so I want to give them some grace. We only got the hotpot so I can't speak for the sushi, but in general, their sauce bar is great and I like that the meat waits on you rather than you waiting on it. Usually at all you can eat hotpot places you're limited by the speed that the server, but at EJ's the meat sits in a self-serve fridge so you can grab as much as you want. You get your own pot that sits on its own induction stove and it feels like everyone has their own little kitchen setup. As far as the meat selection goes, there's beef, lamb, and pork, as well as crawfish, crab, etc. I do like the meat, but I feel like they're trying to accomplish a lot. Rather than having a wow factor, I felt like EJ's was trying to have a little bit of everything. Granted, this restaurant is still in its soft opening and I think they're doing great for being so new. Would recommend a visit!

We went during soft opening for dinner and it wasn't as busy yet. The decor and ambiance is really nice, spacious interior, and friendly service. Hotpot and sushi combo was worth a try, but the sushi can fill you up by the time you get to the hotpot or vice versa. Hotpot topping a broth options had a good variety, some you don't find at other hotpot locations. Nice presentation for sushi rolls/dishes. Desserts were fruits, small cakes, ice cream, but we enjoyed the tofu pudding.

I love a good hotpot, especially when it's close by! I went during soft opening and had a pleasant experience. The space itself is clean, bright, and spacious and the staff were all very attentive. I went for dinner and it was about $35 for AYCE. There were plenty of veggie, noodle, meat, and sauce options you can grab yourself and each person is able to choose their own hotpot flavor. Definitely got my fill of hotpot!

We came here on a Thursday and our server Jasmine was super friendly and knowledgeable. She made the whole experience a pleasant one and had great energy. The food was super fresh and amazing. The hot pot was delicious. We tried the tomato, three delicacies, mushroom, and spicy hot pot. Great experience and for sure will be back. Highly recommend this place and asking for Jasmine!

I went alone to the first soft opening day during lunch. The manager and staff were present and attentive. They featured free juice pitcher for the first 10 lunch and dinner tables every day for one week. I was informed that the sushi will be available in 2-3 weeks. I was also curious about the kbbq grill on the table and they said they will implement some time in the future which is surprising as I didn't know kbbq was an option. Carbonated drinks are not included in the AYCE price. I hope they will be in the future. Starting off with the important part here: the broth. Broth is what makes hot pot delicious and special. There were many broths to choose from but I went with my favorite one, herbal. It was light and delicious; I wish to try the other broths, but I will have to see at another time since you can only get 1 broth per visit. The ingredients were plentiful, but some spaces in the buffet were empty. I have suggested Chinese fried mantou buns with condensed milk as a dessert for the fried area section along with apron bibs and the manager took my suggestions into consideration. They may implement an ice cream machine in the future. Lots of noodles to choose from, seafood area was good, and the green area was serviceable. My favorite from the small appetizer area was with pickled cabbage salad and seafood salad. Meat area was beef, lamb shoulder, chicken, and pork belly. I had a helping to all of the options and the meat slices were yummy. I like how the meat area is self service because you can control the portion of the meat unlike other places which is troublesome when you are dining alone. For bubble tea, I had one on the house to sample and chose the super fruits tea. They asked for ice and sugar level which is surprising because at other hot pot places, tea is pre made with no option to adjust. I chose no sugar and it tasted wonderful which is honestly surprising for a hot pot place. I would get it again on my next visit. I'm not sure what the difference is for food selections between lunch and dinner as I only came for lunch. Will have to ask next time as the price increases for dinner. Photos of lunch are posted on my review. Can't wait to see the improvements in the near future. I hope they receive more love from locals and wish them the best.

Spicy broth was amazing! We had a great experience love the food I think we have to take in consideration that this store just opened and they won't have everything 99% Unlike giving ratings based on your bad experience I'd like to give my experience based on the food. Spicy broth and 3 delicates was amazing had great taste love how you're able to serve what you want! Not a lot of places offer that. Great dumplings I devoured Atleast 8 overall had plenty to choose from next to try will be sushi. LT

Ej's Hot Pot review! It was my hubby's and my first time there! We went at lunch so there was a semi limited menu. No sushi just yet but the staff said it'd be available in 2-3 weeks. My hubby got the Tom yum soup base and I got the mushroom soup. Both tasted good although I liked the tom yum more than my mushroom base. There were plenty of veggie options, 4 frozen meat options and a good amount of seafood and noodle options to satisfy all sorts of picky eaters. I hope there will be more meat options in the future. Soupleaf still has the best meat options thus far. The staff, Emily specifically, was very attentive, patient and helpful when we asked questions or had feedback! She's amazing at her job. I look forward to going back for dinner to try out their other dinner options and trying the other soup bases. Side note, I asked the staff about mixing soup bases like Soupleaf will do, and they said the pots are a little small for that but you could add spice like the Mala flavor to another base if you would like. Tom yum Mala is definitely in my future! It is definitely good for groups of max 6people or less per table. Also great for a fun date night. Photos for reference!

Meat selection showing "halal" lamb next to pork

Definitely was not impressed with this place. First off the Korean barbecue grills at the table weren't hooked up so that portion wasn't available. The broth was okay, but not the greatest. The options to season your broth were kind of limited in my opinion compared to other places I've been. Secondly, the service was really bad. Our waitress was nice, but very inattentive to our needs. They never filled our waters and only gave it to us if we asked even while she was clearing plates from our table. Third of all the options for meat was really poorly executed. They have beef, lamb, chicken, and pork. They state on a little sign that the lamb is halal, but doesn't have it away from the pork which goes against it being halal!? I personally am not halal, but have known people who are and I find it really frustrating. In the picture I have you can see a piece of lamb in the chicken so you know they cross contaminate all the time. Not to mention the utensils to serve yourself are all mixed together. I saw many people using the same tongs to grab from different meat options. I'm really sad because I love places like this. The ambiance isn't bad which makes it just that much more disappointing. I really tried to like this place, but genuinely just couldn't. The sushi was the best part, but at that point why come to an all you can eat hot pot? The all you can eat it menu is for everything on the menu including appetizers which is good I guess. I just really can't get past everything else that is wrong with this place. It's just a really bad and rocky start to a grand opening of a restaurant.

I went with the spicy broth and the tom yum and both were actually really solid. Good flavor, nothing crazy but definitely hits. Pricing is à la carte. The broths were $12.99 total. I got 3 red plates of meat which I was told were $3.99 each plus a plate of mushrooms for $2.99. There's also a sauce/snack bar for $2.99 and rice is available but you have to ask for it. Based on that my total should've been about $30.26 after Texas tax but my bill came out to $31.29. Not a huge difference but it did make me feel like the plate pricing might not have been exactly what was said. Food wise though it was good and it's a nice option if you don't want all you can eat and just want to control what you get. I went on a Monday and they had a deal where you get $35 worth of hot pot items for $17.50 plus the cost of broth. Honestly that's probably the move if you're hungry. I skipped it because I didn't want to over order but you definitely get more value that way. One thing that really didn't sit right with me. Around 9:30, about 30 minutes before closing, I asked to order another plate of lamb and they refused, saying they would have to open the fridge. That's just not good service. If you're still open and serving customers, you should be willing to fulfill a simple order like that. Hard to justify tipping when service is handled like that. Overall good flavors and simple setup, but between the pricing confusion and that experience at the end, service could definitely be better.

Narrow Street 512 serves up Authentic Korean food with a personal touch. It feels like you're eating a home cooked meal at your Aunt's home in Korea. I experienced Narrow Street as a solo diner. My go-to dish I order 90 percent of the time I go there is the Chadol Plate (A3). It is beef brisket. You normally need to go to a KBBQ spot and get covered in a layer of smoke. Skip smelling like a campfire and get A4 at Narrow Street. The beef brisket comes with rice served in a metal bowl. You get 3 or four small plastic containers of banchan the rotates seasonally. There is a variety of different kimchi, fish cake, corn slaw, potato salad and more. Once in a while I like to switch it up and I order the Cold Noodles (F1) or squid and pork stir fry (A4). The cold noodles are refreshing with crisp cucumber, white radish kimchi, and korean pear. The noodles are bouncy with a nice chew. Great in Summer and Winter. The Squid and pork stir fry comes with a bowl of rice and it is quite spicy. It is spicier than average but still less spicy than Thai chili. The chewy squid and pork are nicely complemented with the crunchy stir fried cabbage. Once you taste it you can't stop eating it. The price at Narrow Street very reasonable for what you get in my opinion. It is sit down restaurant quality food in a fast casual setting. You can dine solo or go in a big group as there is plenty of seating at the Hmart Food court. You place your order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to alert you to go pick up your trays of food. The Korean ladies who work there are super friendly and will help you make your menu selection if you have any questions. I've been a dedicated regular since 2023. Narrow Street is my go-to for my Korean food fix!

We arrived at 8:45pm. I debated on the star rating between 4&3 stars simply due to the lack of service. Pros: the broths are delicious, great meat choices on the menu, the buffet had plenty of veggies, seafood, pickled radish-my fave, pleanty of sauces, and that fried chicken was so good, too good . Cons: restaurant closes at 10 but last call and buffet closes at 9:30. The buffet is not restocked often around 8:45/9pm. The service was not great at all. We weren't greeted, weren't asked if if it was our first time, weren't told anything about the menu, buffet, drinks or the ordering process. We weren't given utensils for our hot pot, I had to find our server and ask if there were hot pot utensils available. All we had were our chopsticks and soup spoons. No one checked on us, we just finned for ourselves. When you first enter theres a hostess counter and a wait-list sign in tablet. There was someone at the counter but they ignored us when we walked in so I went straight to the tablet to sign in. While figuring the tablet out, a server walked (she seemed frantic) and said how many, party of 2, she took us to a booth, gave us menus and walked off. Not the best first impression and the service stayed that way the remainder of our visit. No explanation of the menu, ordering process or buffet. We had to ask multiple times about the ordering and food experience. Even had to ask if we would get drinks. The server said, it's over there. We ordered a split pot, 1 side spicy marrow and 1 side mushroom marrow. Note: spicy marrow has the szeschuan peppercorn, you've been forewarned. The mushroom broth was absolutely delicious! We ordered the premium menu but would have been just fine with the basic meat menu. We made the mistake of filling up on the buffet fried chicken and egg rolls and pickled radish. We added veggies and meat to our hot and let it cook a little bit before enjoying such great flavor. Nice surprise when we were leaving, I saw complimentary ice cream cups dessert. Note for next time, try to go during happy hour on a weekday or lunch. If dinner, arrive before 8pm. Anywho, we will be back and do recommend this location for hot pot.

If you've been to The Melting Pot, you'll know what to expect and I didn't notice any difference in quality there. The restaurant looks just like the others inside. We were seated relatively quickly after arriving. Now, the really not good. Our waitress was the worst server we have ever experienced and I'm not exaggerating. In our probably hour or more there, I think we saw her for a total of 5 minutes? Including while she was at the table preparing the food. She disappeared constantly and would be gone for 10 or more minutes without checking in. I asked her for a water refill, waited so long for her to return that I decided to flag down a different waiter, got a refill from him, and then DRANK THAT WHOLE GLASS before she ever came back. Still wiithout a refill for me. When our salads came, she had no dressing for mine. She left to go get it and didn't come back until the others had fully finished their salads. I ordered a strawberry lemonade when we first sat down. It never came and so we asked about it at dessert to make sure it wouldn't be on the check, and before we could finish asking, she said 'OH!' and left, and then came back 5 min later with it. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to drink with my chocolate. She never asked if we were celebrating anything even though there were two birthday tables next to us whose wait staff made HUGE deals about their birthdays, AND it was on the reservation notes. Here's the thing. She never apologized for any of the wait times, or disappearing, or forgetting things. Even after all of the mishaps, my review would have been a 4 star if she'd ever once acknowledged how comically bad it was all going. This experience was so bad that I had to share it. Usually I gloss over less than stellar service, but this deserved to be immortalized.
