Been in ATX area for a while and finally tried this OG Chinese gem! We had the amazing Ma Po Tofu (silken bean curd w/ shredded pork in Szechuan sauce, green onic peas & carrots) sooo good. Pairs nicely with the BBQ Pork fried rice. Highly recommend this authentic restaurant. Staff is super attentive and friendly and has a nice large dining room.

Still a good spot. We decided to try the duck this time. Not as good as other duck spots but still fine. They also did not chop the skin up as finely as the meat. Green beans with xo sauce was made pretty well. Enough to feed 4 people with what we got.

Staff is so friendly. The food was amazing and thats someone who has eaten a lot of houston Chinese food. They know their food bussing too. The food was so good I forgot I was eating in their dining room and had to remind myself of my manners l.

BBQ Combo: Roasted Duck, Roasted Pork Belly, and Char Siu

Rating: 4/5 [delivery] BBQ Combo ($36.95): You can choose three meats and it comes with two dipping sauces, but no rice. We went with the char siu, roasted duck, and roasted pork belly (+$3), and all three were evenly tasty. The roasted duck had a nice juicy skin, although there were a lot of bones. The char siu was borderline dry, so it was not as tender as we hoped. The roasted pork belly had great layers of meat and fat, but the top skin was not very crispy, likely because we got the food delivered. The portion size was generous and lasted us two meals. Just note that the meat becomes a bit drier when reheated. Pouring the sauce over the meat before reheating helps retain some moisture.

This is one of our go to Chinese restaurant in town ! Their roast Duck, BBQ pork and pork belly is on one of the best. The service was always fast and staffs are friendly. I love their Singapore fries noodle and the salted fish fried rice.

We decided to have a late lunch / early dinner at Din Ho Chinese BBQ since the last dining experience was so good. We settled on chicken fried rice and Kong pau shrimp. Both were good in their own way - rice was stir fried to perfection with a sauteed grilled taste and the shrimp was spicey, crunchy and bursting with flavor. Our server was quiet yet effective. Refilling our drinks often and satisfying every request. Today, Din Ho was quiet given our dining hour. There were a variety of clientele from families to dates and single individuals. Nothing like fellowship over excellent food!!!

I tried the dinner for 8 this time and I liked it more than what we got last time. It was more expensive but I would say for occasions it was worth it. I think the only thing I would complain about was that it needed more veggie dishes in the 8 people dinner combination. The workers were nice and we were seated quickly.

decent place for gatherings or just a nice lunch. service is friendly and fast. our favorite dish was the beef gai lan! tender, juicy slices of beef paired with a generous portion of vegetables and a nice wok hei. the rest of the dishes were fairly average. overall, the food leaned on the lighter side in terms of seasoning, and several dishes could have benefited from a bit more depth or salt as i found myself adding extra soy sauce. the roast duck was disappointing, as it was mostly skin and bones, slightly greasy, and lacked the crispness you'd expect. the char siu was quite lean and on the drier side, though the flavor itself was still enjoyable. the ginger scallion lobster had good aromatic flavor, but the meat was flaky and dry, suggesting it wasn't as fresh as it should have been.

Wife and I used to go here often long time ago. Had no idea it was still here. Survived all the commercialization. It was and still is the best Chinese in Austin TX. Nothing comes close even the high dollar overrated trendy Asian spots down town. It is real authentic and is tucked away in an Asian market strip mall. One of the oldest and best. Had not been back here for a while but needed some good authentic Kimchee. After picking up few things in the Asian mart I saw the restaurant and the ducks. My stomach growled and being on keto all week I figured treat myself to some good fat duck meat. My favorite poultry. It is so nice because you can just order it to go and get you your order instantly. This place reminds me of places I visit in Taipei and Beijing. Will be back.

    Chow Fun combination

When I moved to Austin 11 years ago, I discovered Din Ho and whenever I am in the mood for Chow Fun, I can rest assured that Owner Jackie and her team will be there to offer customer satisfaction and Cantonese culinary delights beyond measure. I love the decor and one small detail, beautiful printed menus, no QR codes to scan. I wanted to order a cup of Egg Drop soup but was told that it was only sold by the bowl so I only ordered the Combination Chow Fun, flat rice noodles stir fried with BBQ pork, beef, shrimp, and vegetables (mushroom, broccoli, bok choy), which was absolutely delicious with chunks of the BBQ Pork, Beef, and medium sized Shrimp. And for digestive purposes only, I consumed a Sapporo Reserve beer. Unfortunately they no longer serve cups of soup, only the large bowls so I can only give this visit 4 stars

It was my first time here and I think it's very authentic as it's full of Asian servers and the decor is fitting for a Chinese restaurant. I really enjoyed their happy family and hunan shrimp. The service is prompt and to the point with great recommendations!

Din Ho Chinese BBq is my go-to spot for authentic Chinese food. Had a chance to share a meal with my church Pastor and his wife. They were also in search for authentic Chinese food. By the end of the meal we all agreed, we shall return...soon. Wonton Soup, combo fried rice, char Su(Bbq Pork), pepper steak, Moo-goo gaipn, and chicken Lo Mein. Every entree was delicious. The service was exceptional and we had a great table. This is what brings me back every time. Call ahead and ask about the wait time. It's not just my go-to spot. Parking can be a challenge, but it's there. Michael C - Georgetown

    Three Meat Plate
    Tracey L.

This place brought me back to California, in a good way :). This is probably one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to in Austin. I got the crunchy vegetable noodles and the three meat plate. The sauce on the noodles was amazing and there was plenty of fresh vegetables on the plate. My three meat plate consisted of BBQ pork, duck, and crispy pork. I recommend the bbq pork and crispy pork to everyone, if you've never had duck I would choose another meat. I personally love duck, but it is more gamey and you have to eat around the bones. The service was very attentive and the food comes out pretty quick. I loved eating here and it made me nostalgic of eating with my family at my hometown Chinese Restaurant.

The dumplings were flavorful without a sauce although I would have enjoyed an option. I added some chili sauce to the empty dish and spiced up things. By the end I was completely full and satisfied. I ordered hot and sour pork soup. I had never had hot and sour soup with meat. Portions were generous, ingredients fresh, and the food arrived smoking hot. The noodles were soft, smooth and flavorful. The pork inside looked like tiny meatballs. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the restaurant was completely full and customers were continuing to flow in. Because the restaurant is rather small, I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order. Jim, one of the owners, said if I had ordered 3 items it would take about 45 minutes, that's why I went with one. You could easily tell that many folks at the restaurant were regulars, which means the food, service or both were exceptional. Definitely will be returning to Three Gorges...

The cumin seeds give it that signature earthy, aromatic flavor and you get a slight tingly numbing spice sensation from the chilis and peppercorn. The lamb is not overly gamey, but it still does taste like lamb so if you are not really a lamb fan, I'd choose something else. - Jumping Fish: A very popular dish! Tender white fish fillets that is so soft it melts in your mouth. It is in a flavorful oil and broth that is refreshing from the fresh jalapenos. It is a savory dish, yet still relatively mild. It commes with napa cabbage as well! This was my favorite dish and I loved the flavor combined with the white rice. - Mapo Tofu (Vegetarian): They have one with pork as well, but I got the vegetarian version. Silky soft tofu cubes in that signature mapo tofu sauce and numbing peppercorns. Despite the appearance of all the dishes, none of them were very spicy. Overall, a comforting soft, spicy, savory dish with a slight tingle. - Eggplant in garlic sauce: A deliciously sweet and umami garlic sauce. The eggplants could have been a bit more cooked through in my opinion though since it was still quite firm. I loved it still! Note that all the dishes to me were not spicy just had an underlying subtle spice or tingle (like a finishing flavor note if you will). Also, since it is sichuan the dishes are on the oilier side. You order with the cashier at the front and pay up front as well. Food comes out quickly. It is a small space with three rows of tables (maybe around 12-15 tables give or take), so it does fill up fast. I went at around 5:40 PM on a Thursday and there was no wait, but by the time we finished eating at around 7PM, the restaurant was full. House of Three Gorges was hyped up a lot on my social media feed and through word of mouth, so I came in with high expectations. Luckily, they did not disappoint.
