Eggplant and shredded pork, beef flat noodle, roast duck
    Sandra P.

Ho Ho has some of the best Chinese barbecue in the city! I love their roast pork belly; it's always perfectly crispy and juicy. Their menu is massive so you never run out of new things to try; however, I like to order the same things. Their menu beef flat noodle with Chinese vegetables is always a hit. I've noticed they've started putting less beef in the dish. That's a bummer but the flavor is still delish. Underrated dish is the eggplant and shredded pork! So flavorful and I don't even like eggplant! They can often get slammed so service can bit hard to come by. The servers are running from table to table. Otherwise great spot for family dinner!

Food was magnificent. Large portions. Gotta try the duck, BBQ pork and marinated chicken combo. It's enough for 2 people and a doggie bag. Food was quick to be served. Combo fried rice had everything I needed in it. Waiter and staff were friendly and greeted upon arrival. Was somewhat bothered because whatever they mopped the floor with made it slippery or greasy and I had to be cautious walking to the table and back and forth to the bathroom.

I thought that the roast duck and the char sir pork was pretty good. I didn't enjoy the crispy pork chop and beef with chinese broccoli that much but it wasnt bad. Overall I thought it was pretty good, great for friends and family. You do a family style dinner and the food comes out pretty fast. The workers are nice as well and there is plenty of seating.

I LOVED my experience. The sesame beef was 10/10. Dare I say it was was cooked to perfection (meat wasn't dry and the breading was perfectly crispy). The sauce was delicious as well. I even ordered a side of it to-go! I also got the BBQ pork with egg. The pork was very good. Next time, I'm just going to get the BBQ pork plate without the egg. Last but not least, I got the vegetable delight. Could have been seasoned a bit more but the veggies tasted nice and fresh. I particularly loved the mushrooms. Two honorable mentions: First, our waiter! He was super nice and helpful. I wish I remembered his name! Second, some dishes come with unlimited white rice. As a rice lover, I really appreciated that. I 100% recommend coming here!

Great duck and chicken curry! Pork fried rice and combo rice are also great! Large portions!

Worst chow fun I ever had yet MOST expensive I have ever had. Mushy and soupy. Why?! "Egg roll" was really an empty spring roll. Don't order it. Only thing good and authentic is the wonton soup but not worth $20. Wow I miss nyc and getting $5 wonton soup down the street and good dumplings too. This is way too expensive.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: My parents and I came here after a disappointing dim sum meal at Golden Palace. I've always heard about this spot but I generally get Ho Ho Barbecue for my roast duck fix. Coming into the resatuarnt, you are immediately shown the roast duck butchery area. It featured the cantonese style duck along with other roasted meats. I'm definteily going to be back to try some more stuff. I just got the roast duck this time and it was succulent, juicy, and flavorful. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A roast duck was around $35, which was pretty reasonable given the quality of the duck. I'd come back and try more of their menu items.

It's a shame because there are better Asian restaurants in this area on N Lamar. My wife had duck and I had Szechuan beef. Her duck was undercooked and still somewhat bloody. My Szechuan beef was obviously made from inexpensive cuts of beef and lacked the wonderful complex seasoning in better Szechuan beef. The food was served quickly and makes me believe the cook fried it up too quickly trying to get the food out quickly and not correctly. Food quantity was generous and service was OK but this restaurant is plain Jane with no ambience or anything special. The customers appeared to be an even mix of Western, Mixed, and Asian. Our waitress at her dinner out of a styrofoam container between customers. That gives one an idea of how this place functions. I don't recommend this place at all and won't return. Panda Express is slightly better than this restaurant.

The standout was the shrimp pancake that had a really great texture and flavor. The snow crab ball had a strange texture with shrimp surrounding the snow crab claw. The Chinese Sticky Rice is always a favorite. Also ordered the Truffle Egg Fried rice and Birds Nest with Seasonal Vegetable. The Truffle rice is so flavorful like a flavor explosion in your mouth. The Birds Nest is made with fried potato shreds which contain the a variety of vegetables including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. The nest is also edible and has a crunchy texture. The duck was good and I did enjoy it, but for the price, it felt more like a once-in-a-while dish rather than something I'd regularly order. The beef crispy noodle had a good sauce and tasted similar to what I'm used to, which I liked. However, there was barely any beef, and the pieces were cut very small. I decided to come back again because I was craving Asian food. Unfortunately, the second visit was disappointing. The Sizzling Steak dish was not worth the price at all - there was very little beef, and it felt like they added a lot of onions to make up for it. The onions were barely cooked and lacked seasoning, which made the dish pretty sad overall. The Beef Pan-Fried Flat Noodle was just okay. It was very plain and not seasoned, but I did enjoy the noodles themselves - the thin flat noodles had a nice texture. Service was decent overall. The waiter who took my order was friendly. The lady who brought out the food did raise her voice when I asked a question about the flat noodles, which caught me off guard, but I chalked it up to an "aunty vibe" and didn't take it personally. Overall, portions and seasoning don't quite justify the prices at all.

Ordering is still done with the QR code so we had one person order all the food and then we split the bill afterwards. You have to pay first before the order gets sent to the kitchen. The service has improved slightly, with us being so close to the kitchen. We were able to flag down servers to help us get an extra plate, tea cups, etc. Got a variety of dim sum classics: hargow (shrimp dumpling), siu mai, rice noodles, custard buns, chicken feet, chow fun, egg tarts, soy sauce noodles, charsiu bao, turnip cake My favorites are the siu mai, chow fun and custard buns! They also have non-traditional dim sum dishes such as soup dumplings, which actually originated from Shanghai. We got them and they were ok. We ordered a second time to get more custard buns but it seemed they ran out so it took some time for them to make them fresh. When they finally came, the buns were not smooth and it really looks like the custard was about to burst. Someone bit into theirs and the custard exploded onto their shirt. However, we all had a good laugh and still enjoyed the food. Have to have tea during dim sum so we also got our puer and chrysanthemum tea mix. Not sure if they usually charge for this, but we got it complimentary! Yay! If you are familiar with dim sum, then you know these are smaller dishes meant to be shared among the group! Everybody ate and was satisfied. Each person paid about $25 after tip! There's a designated parking lot with lots of spots.
