I went here randomly one day that had gone very wrong and nearly moved in! Staff were so friendly and helpful, even though it must have been obvious I wasn't equipped to tip. I ate so much that was so delicious! This was a couple years ago but I meant to leave a review. Sorry it wasn't sooner. I would love to go back, and often! Clearly labeled food, which is important with allergies and able to get around with my cane. I highly recommend the food, especially the little balls of dough with red bean paste and sesame on top. I may not know what they are but I definitely want them again! I love that nobody seemed fussed at my lengthy exploration! Also, my card was being stupidly so I had to use my emergency twenty. It's a pretty average Chinese buffet -- nothing amazing, but not bad either. The food was alright, the place was decently clean, and the staff were actually really nice, which made the experience better. I did try the Mongolian grill, and it was fine -- definitely tasted better since it was freshly grilled. For what it is, a buffet that's not expensive, this place does quite a good job. You can eat a fairly healthy meal from the Mongolian-style grill, reasonably good sushi, and big fruit selection. You can pig out on fried everything, and eat the number of chicken drumettes you'll lie about later. You can be timid about exotic "foreign" food and grab some bad pizza, fries, and wings. Or like me, you can walk a tightrope and do a little of each of these. The selections are usually pretty fresh, or the guy at the grill will cook to order. The sushi guy asked today if I preferred sashimi, though I was too full to accept. Most of the desserts look prepackaged, and taste weird and stale to me, which is not optimal. But by the time I've tasted everything else, I'm okay with sticking with a little fruit and a bit of that soft-serve "ice cream." This is a great place to stuff your face full of Americanized Chinese food. If you're a working class fat person who needs to eat to get full, rather than for taste or a wonderful experience, then this is the place for you. The prices are cheap and the service is satisfactory. The ambiance is on par with any other generic buffet joint. When you pick a place, you don't know will be in your surprise bag. We gave it a try with Buffet King Sushi and Mongolian .. for $5 we got enough food for both of us! Vegetable Lo Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, fried rice (spicy), (fried?) bananas, egg rolls, fried donuts, and a mystery item. While the fried donuts were bland, everything else tasted really good! Solid 3/5 stars My dirty little secret is every once in a while I have a craving for cheap, junky food places that many/most people review poorly (eg--The Golden Corral, Taco Bell, any Chinese buffet ever created). I have a saying, "Sometimes the only thing better than great Chinese food is bad Chinese food." It sometimes is a simple joy in life to gorge on carbs and deep fried meats until you need the stretchy pants. This was my first visit to Buffet King and it fit the bill for an affordable dinner ($16) with a wide variety of Americanized Chinese dishes. The food was plentiful and tasted as you would expect from a Chinese buffet. I did appreciate the amount of seafood they had available. The servers were attentive and kept our drinks full and table clear. For what it is, Buffet King is a solid value. It'll be on my list of vices to visit when I get that craving. read more

I witnessed the grill cooker cough up mucus and spit in the trash can next to the grill twice where he was cooking food. That was very disgusting and unhealthy for a cook to be spitting in his trash can while cooking food for people. When he looked at me and knew I saw him doing that, he didn't care. I hope they will correct that disgusting behavior that their grill cooker has. If he is sick, he needs to stay home so he won't be spreading germs at their customers. If I could rate it 0 I would y'all. THIS WAS DISGUSTING As a connoisseur of crappy Chinese restaurants, I understand that majority or the time my experience is not going to be amazing. This buffet has been on my list for a while as I live around the corner from it and see it on too good to go pretty often. But this was absolutely disgusting y'all. The food was disgusting, one of my favorite items at every Chinese buffet is the green beans - idk why, they are just usually pretty good. The green beans here were COATED with a cloudy, sticky substance that literally made me want to throw up when I tried it, the rest of the food was bland and just gross. The fried dumplings were chewy and tasteless, the broccoli woulda tasted better if they left it alone. I was optimistic about the deserts but the jello was hard and tasteless. The customer service consisted of taking us to the table, getting us drinks, staring at us from the drink/wait staff station, and finally, staring at me while I paid - hoping to get a tip. I was very disappointed after eating at this place. The beef and broccoli was bland, the beef had no flavor to it and the broccoli was mushy. The garlic shrimp was bland with no garlicky taste to it. The food was ok but the server was HORRIBLE! When I asked to pay for myself and one other person she raised her voice saying "No one whole check!" There were 5 of us. Again I just wanted to pay for 2 people. She finally came back with my ticket pointing it in my face what was on the ticket. Very rude! Like she wanted to make sure I would pay. So I gave her no tip. The last time I came here I was disappointed. The service this time was so much better. It was a Sunday and they were very busy. They asked about the Buffett and we chose not to get it. The service was very quick and the food was good. I will get the wonton soup next time. Susan was very kind and all. She gave us chips for the soup and split up the rice into two bowls for us. Genuinely the worst buffet ever, and I LOVE buffets. They gave us our check 15mins after sitting down, I tried to explain that we just arrived but the server didn't respond and walked away. We paid, but continued to eat since we got there only 15-20mins prior, they never refilled our drinks, and when we tried asking the server RAN AWAY from our table. Not a single thing tasted good, either too salty or bland. Usually, after trying everything I will go back for seconds on the things I like the most but nothing here is worth eating twice. Took one bite of shrimp and felt queasy, so definitely stay away from the seafood. Genuinely some of the worst service and quality of food ever. Everytime we drive by this place we get reminded of our horrible experience so I finally decided to write a review & warn others. Horrible food and even worse service. I know, it's a buffet and I normally would not bother reviewing one. However, i will review one that is unusually good or unusually bad. This is a bad one. I cannot overstate the fact that this particular buffet is consistently bad. I gave two stars simply because there is a Mongolian grill inside that will cook Ingredients that you choose from a long set of available ingredients. The saving grace for this establishment. Otherwise, on my visit today the selections at the buffet or either simply not appealing visually and/or were not satisfying at all when eaten. If you choose to eat a quick lunch here go directly to the Mongolian grill...bypass the buffet (maybe get an egg-roll) and you'll be fine. For me, I'm probably going to be on the toilet for an extended period sometime later tonight. Yay me!! Question: who makes Star Anise a major component of a chicken dish? Licorice Chicken?? Front desk host is extremely rude to customers. They start talking mess about the customers in Chinese, looks like the manager or owner was there. But it might be theirs daughter. My server blocked my walking path and kept telling me to tip him, I told him I don't tip. He told me to tip him again and again. I basically said to him the employer should be paying you your wage, NOT the customer. Also tipping is completely optional and if you rely on that for income, then you need to find a better job.
