We LOVE the pitch! Finally, a badass sports bar in North Austin. Where to start... First off, as an Austin FC season ticket holder, we are big fans and this place is the headquarters to their training fields and Austin FC IIs game field. So, we love the green Austin FC theme for the whole place. This is the spot to watch their games along with football. We have been for Longhorn and Cowboys games and it's always a good crowd. Surprisingly enough, it is never packed, which we love of course. Super chill mellow crowd of usually 30+ and families which is a nice change of pace for a sports spot. Now to the food. They have 5 or so food spots and a coffee bar. It's like food truck style but in their containers. All the food looks great and my friends have all tried different spots and liked what they got. I however can't try anything besides the brisket grilled cheese melt from Smoke Show, it's just THAT good. The sourdough bread...the cheese...the brisket...had it 4x now and it's cooked to perfection each time. Keep that chef! Also, everything is affordable and fairly priced. My partner loves the burger from ranger burger, and I can vouch its SO good! Their cocktails are also very impressive. You can tell they make some things from scratch and they dehydrate their fruit, fancy for a $10 cocktail in a plastic cup. I love that! I am not a huge margarita drinker, but I always get their Yellow Card Margarita - it's not too sweet and the tamarind and tajin are the perfect touch. The Gold Keeper is super tasty too if you are a whiskey drinker. When we come with the group we enjoy their beer pitchers as well. Pickleball! We love this spot for pickleball. You can book courts 1&2, and 3 is open play where everyone has been fair and courteous with sharing. They charge $10 per 30 minutes. We have been booking on the weekends since it gets busy. We have played here about 4x now and look forward to many more games. They rent out equipment if you don't have your own. Only once did we run into an issue where it showed I booked a court for 1 hour, and another group said they also did. The system managed to double-book us, but it never charged me, so we didn't get the court. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the Pitch is closed, but they allow anyone to come play for free on all 3 courts during this time. After normal working hours, it starts to fill up. read more

My buddy was talking up this spot so I was hyped when we drove here. After arriving and hanging for a couple hours here for NFL wildcard Saturday, I'm convinced this is what the new modern outdoor bars/patios/social areas will be moving forward! First, the space. Lots of space! Plenty of room for kids to run around, there's some field for soccer and a couple pickle ball courts. Also plenty of parking to accommodate the area. There's also plenty of open seating surrounded by gas-heaters (when it gets cold) and large tvs built into the buildings to view your televised sporting events or watch parties for awards shows. Each table has a QR Code menu where you order/pay online, then pick up your food/drinks when you get the text message from your phone. Very 2020s! Drinks can be ordered from the Corner Kick bar which boasts some cool signature cocktails and craft beers. Cocktails have soccer-oriented names such as: -the Playmaker (Still Austin Bourbon, Liquid Alchemist Blood Orange, Cinnamon simple and topped with soda), -Prickly Kicker (Monte Alban Silver Tequila, Lime, Prickly Pear, Ginger Beer, Rosemary); one of my favorites! -Gold Keeper (Jim Beam Bourbon, Licor 43, Honey, Lemon, Bitters) As for food, there's multiple restaurants to choose from including vietnamese, tacos, burgers, and barbeque sandwiches. The Austin Sol, our national ultimate frisbee team, plays all their home games here, making it a fun and exciting spot for sports fans. While the bar can be on the pricey side, I'd suggest going for a pitcher of beer instead of individual drinks if that's your thing--it's a better value. The stadium seating is made of concrete, so I definitely recommend bringing a cushioned seat for comfort. This place also has great energy, especially during Austin FC watch parties, where the atmosphere is electric. New management doesn't have it together. There is one bar now. We waited in line for an hour and 20 minutes for drinks. Friends ordered at a table and waited just as long and were served cold food. The bar was so disorganized, 5 people crawling over each other. The person taking payment was also making drinks, making the line take so long. The only games being played were baseball and football even though Austin fc was playing an away game that night. No soccer at a place called "The Pitch"? Bottom line: There are better options. Overall, this experience was terrible. When making a reservation on their site, it said there would be a check-in where you could rent gear to play; however, no one was on-site to help with rentals. We had to drive to Walmart, buy our paddles to play, and then drive back, eating over an hour of playtime due to traffic. There were no open bathrooms on the premises either, so we needed to leave early for that as well. I would recommend checking out most of the local tennis courts as they have pickleball lines/markings most of the time, or coming here and not paying a reservation fee even on the non open play days because there are no workers who seem to manage the courts. There is also The PickleBall ranch, which is not far away is managed well and although it is more expensive I guarantee you will have a better time. We attended tonight's Equality Texas fundraiser at The Pitch and loved it once again. The food and drinks are pretty good but really it's the pitch that we come here for. We have done other events here as well like ATX Clinics and attended some Austin FC Academy games. If you love soccer, then you should definitely make the trip. Check out Austin FC II or even RISE. You can order food right on the app and will get a text when ready to pick up. There are about 3-4 restaurants, a bar, a pickle ball court, and a sand volleyball area. I've been waiting to checkout the pitch and went earlier to meet a buddy for beers and to watch a premier league game. I had a michelada and a bloody mary and both were pretty good. There were 4 different types of food to choose from and I wasn't super hungry and settled on a jerk chicken taco and rice and beans. The taco was good but small for the price. The rice and beans were pretty basic and not good value for the price, I actually threw most of them away. We've visited and played pickleball here a couple times. They have 3 outdoor courts; you can reserve courts 1&2 and court 3 is open play. We went to play pickle ball tonight and it's always a good time. The Pitch has 3 pickle ball courts: 2 can be reserved and 1 is an open court. The courts technically close at 10pm but they usually keep the lights on until 11pm. I really enjoy this place! It's dog friendly with dog bowls and poop cans nearby. My dogs love people watching and walking around the pond. Tons of options for food and the QR codes really make everything convenient (which may be bad for my wallet). The drink pictured is from the Corner Kick Bar and they've been slinging some wonderful drinks. I've been wanting to keep this my dirty little secret, especially for HH (4-6pm) but this place is too good to not share. Taco Flats: I've gotten a few tacos and their dirty nachos here. Their nachos are huge & came in a pizza box! So if you're here with a group, I highly recommend that as an shareable or if you're super hungry. I believe they make their own chips. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was yummy but you have to eat fast so the slaw and sauce don't make the bread soggy. The fries were on the salty side, but good. They have a variety of food stations and a bar you can all order through a QR code. Now food wise it wasn't anything special. The Al pastor taco meat was tough and lacked flavor. The fries were pretty standard, but the cilantro ranch it came with was a great highlight. I had chicken tenders at another time and they were excessive big for no reason. Insanely cute area to grab a drink, good food, and relax outside. There was plenty of parking on a Friday night. Nice walking trail around a little body of water that has lights throughout. Cute outdoor seating throughout and some indoor seating upstairs in the containers. TVs are everywhere so it's going to be great for game days. My dogs really liked the area too. You can scan QR codes and order from all the spots easily or just walk up to the different spots. The drinks were good at the main bar. Chicken sandwich and burger from the burger spot were both really good. My only complaint is that there was some kids running around everywhere and climbing on all the tables and chairs. My friends and I visit this place often for pickleball! The Pitch offers 3 courts, 2 of which are reservable a week in advance. Since it's so hot here, we usually go in the evening. It's nice that they provide a $20 credit for a 1 hr reservation, but I think the bar closes at 9 so we haven't gotten to really use it yet (our reso is usually from 9-10). Pretty chill place, there's a sand area that's maybe for soccer or volleyball (I haven't seen it used much later at night). I do wish the courts were a little more spaced out but the location is convenient for me and my friends! read more

Pilas Verdes With the success of Austin FC I watched The Pitch get introduced on social media where I had to check this place out. It took a while with my busy schedule and the fact this place is not close to my home, but did end up making a trip here. It was a very hot Saturday midday with my wife as we were excited to see this place in person. At first it took some navigation in the large business park to find the entrance. Found a parking spot near the entrance but most of it is heard with the industrial park. A couple of young people were playing pickle ball and could see the whole place was constructed out of shipping containers. Architecturally it looked marvelous. There was walk up restaurants, bar and a coffee shop where all were open. Large TV monitors are placed all over where I imagine would be showing the Austin FC game if they were playing along with a variety of cool seating available. As I continued to tour this place I walked into Palmer Field, a soccer field with covered seating. Sounds like a cool experience to be here to watch the team practice while sipping on cold drink and eating delicious food. I walked on a trail along a small lake to end up at a huge sand pit with chairs. All this walking and exploring got us hungry and thirsty. I ordered the Fried Chicken Tenders at Ranger Burger. But did I say it was hot, very hot? I kept looking up where the containers were stacked on top of each other and had windows. After I received my order I took a chance and walked up green stairs to find table seating and air conditioning. What a break of relief where I could enjoy my food without dying the heat. There was even flatscreens in there showing a variety of sporting channels. The chicken tasted really good and got a side of fries with it. If this restaurant is this good I suspect the rest are too. The Pitch is super cool and makes me even more to see a game at Q2 Stadium. The only thing missing is a playground, splash pad, or goal on one end of the sand pit so people can play beach soccer. Will definitely make a return visit hopefully on a much cooler day ... perhaps when Austin FC is playing. Last suggestion - try the Weird Tea. read more

For the price, I expected at least basic conveniences like accessible restrooms and water, but there was nothing provided. I could have easily played for free at a public park and had a better overall experience. My guests and I were unprepared due to assuming a paid facility would offer at least minimal amenities. You're gonna find me here all summer! Found this new wonderful place due to a well timed FB sponsored ad for their Kentucky Derby event. They had specials for some fun mule drink options and showed the event on all the screens. They also host family friendly movie and trivia nights regularity here. They have the easiest and most convenient ordering system! I was so pleasantly surprised how well figured out The Pitch has QR codes on tables and menus that takes you to an online ordering platform where you can order from Any of the businesses even multiple at the same time and put it all on the same check. You can close your tab as you're leaving on the website and it will combine all of the orders you put in for a comprehensive receipt. We tried about half the places that serve food or drinks here. We tried the Ranger Cattle burger, a rice bowl from Ga Roti, an Al Pastor taco with a side of black beans, and various drinks from Corner Kick Bar. Everything we had was pretty great! The taco place was our least favorite, it was good but not great or memorable. The best was definitely the Ranger Burger. WOW that was amazing and it's only $1 more to add a bunch of lettuce, tomato and onions to the burger. We did not get a chance this time around to try the Coffee Club, The Sand Bar, or the Smoke Show Sandwiches because we were very full and the coffee place had closed by 6pm or so while we were there and it was a bit late for coffee anyway. Extremely family and dog friendly! There is a great sand area for volleyball but lots of parents brought sand toys for their kids to keep busy which is genius! The bathrooms are nice and cold inside and were pretty clean. Some of the bathroom options are gender neutral and one stall ones too. There is free Wi-Fi with no password which was awesome as well. The views are really relaxing and gorgeous wherever you decide to hang out here. The white and green shipping containers are air conditioned inside if you need a break from the heat or need to plug your laptop or phone in. They also have tvs going in these rooms, but the sound inside is connected to the music playlists they have going throughout the day and not the tvs which is nice. They have different kinds of seatings and beautiful views from all of the options. They're currently still expanding and have a pickle ball court in the making. A lot of their advertising is for people to come out for Austin FC games, it this place is a great time even for a low key hangout or to work from your laptop for the day. There is plenty of parking right now as it is near all unfinished construction projects and is still fairly new and not very widely publicly talked about in Austin yet. I'm sure once they finish the surrounding apartment complexes this place will blow up and be difficult to find a place to park or sit, but for now come enjoy this place its well worth the while! The NKF walk has been hosted here the last few years. It's a great location with good parking. The 3k we walk is pathed so easy to walk and navigate. They have multiple areas for rent for groups.
