Always good for a classic brunch. Weekends are busy, but the weight is normally pretty short. They have outdoor seating, which is nice if you wanna bring your dog.

Fun place for Breakfast/Brunch, with indoor and outdoor tables, visited the place around 11 am and got a table right away but place was pretty full however, service was fast and efficient. Food was tasty and generous size. Paid $40 for two plates, no drinks. There is some construction around so parking is a little tie.

I visited the other location awhile back and couldn't wait to go again because I enjoyed it so much the first time. The food is really, really good here. I got the same exact thing I got last time but I imagine everything is good here. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance is that of a diner style. I definitely recommend stopping here.

Took a trip to Austin to see our son and asked him about this place. His response, "I've always wanted to try it, but it always has a line out the door." Well, we lucked out - apparently it's dead in Austin during the holidays. I had looked at the wrong location online and thought they had outdoor seating, so we brought the pup along, but when we arrived, I realized the mistake I made. I thought we'd have to get back in the Uber and find something else, but nope - bring that cute fella inside was offered! Score - dog friendly indeed! Service was excellent - drinks were never empty, and empty dishes were picked up quickly. Ensuring our food was to our satisfaction also occurred. The food was great! We opted to share the cornbread muffins to start. I opted for the fried chicken and grits. I loved the maple hot sauce - perfect balance of sweet heat. The pickled chilis were also a great addition to have some acid balance. The chicken was moist with a delightfully crispy breading, and the grits were perfect. Maybe a touch too much salt, but that's being nitpicky. I'd for sure come here again!

If you have been to their location off of Oltorf, identical menus as expected. However, this location has a much larger seating capacity and more abundant parking. The food is delicious as usual. I went with my usual Big Bacon and Eggs. They had some specials going on, but I couldn't pass up on the big slab of bacon. Service seemed kind of busy due to the amount of people here. The ambiance of the facility is really nice. It felt very open and a lot of lighting with all the windows. The staff here are friendly as their other location.

The diner is a cute little spot nicely decorated for Christmas and the staff was very nice and accommodating. When I called to make sure they were open, the hostess was very upbeat and welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and checking to make sure we were taken care of. The food is very fulfilling with a unique take on their dishes. The shrimp and grits were very good but it had a lot of oils and butter. When transferring it to my to-go box, I had to drain the oils on the plate, so if you're on any kind of diet, you'll be set back for weeks lol but it's completely worth it! My boyfriend got the Brisket Benny, which looked really good but he wasn't a fan-yet ate it all lol. I tried the hash brown casserole and didn't really like it. I couldn't quite figure out what ingredient it had that made it have a weird herb taste to it but I would not recommend it and suggest another side. Overall it was a great experience as a brunch spot on our way home.

Quick trip to Austin and tried to find nice breakfast restaurant. Omg.. their service was absolutely amazing. Quick and friendly. Our server recommended foods and it was great!!!! We will definitely go back and try different menus, too.

I loved this place! I went on a Sunday and surprisingly the wait time went by pretty fast. The inside is very cute and they had a wide selection on the menu, both breakfast and lunch items. I got the fried chicken biscuit sandwich and it was amazing!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the prices were expensive but the food was definitely great.

Great experience at Phoebe's Diner! The Cheeky Monkey and Brisket Benny were both savory and delicious. A huge standout was the French Toast,it tasted lovely and reminded me almost of a funnel cake! If you love a bold cup of coffee, the Café du Monde is a must-order. The Nitrochata was okay but a bit too mellow for my taste. Despite it being very busy, the staff was super friendly and kept things moving. I'll definitely be back!

Food was a 10/10 I loved how casual and local it felt. Went on a girls brunch date and we all thought the food was amazing. Service was also great! We went on a Saturday at noon without a reservation and they sat us right away.

Who doesn't love a good breakfast? I'm always on the search for a good eggs Benedict and drove to Phoebe's to try theirs for the 1st time. It was fantastic! Huge portion served on a biscuit instead of English muffin and the most delicious hollandaise. The ham was thick cut and did not skimp on the portion size. Enough for two! They have an appetizer called the Cheeky Monkey I just had to try. It's a hard boiled egg wrapped in hashbrown and sausage then fried! Served with cream gravy. Omg - it's a meal on its own. The grilled chicken sandwich was also a juicy surprise. It they make their own pickles which had a slight sweetness to them. I'm definitely coming back again.

I was craving a simple breakfast: eggs, biscuits, etc. The scrambled eggs were okay, the biscuit was okay, the grits with goat cheese was not even close to what I was hoping for. Did not taste like corn or grits. Not to my taste at all. Maybe others like this style grits, but it missed the mark for me.

We loved this diner! The food was excellent, the staff was wonderful! The minute you walk through the doors, the staff is welcoming and friendly. The menu is not your ordinary breakfast diner fare -- it's soooo much better!! I loved the Phoebe Benedict and the goat's milk cheese grits. Every bite was so delicious! My husband had the best breakfast burrito (without the tortilla) -- omgosh!! And the pancakes...Mmmmmm!! If you're in Austin and looking for a great breakfast or brunch, head on over to Phoebe's for an awesome breakfast and service with a smile!!

Do you guys offer bottomless mimosas?

no, each one is $7 , as I recall

Any update on when they will open?

Yes! I just got an email on 12/13/2023 stating the grand opening is scheduled for 01/09/2024. The Gracy Farms menu is also now posted on their website.

Any updates? May 2023 and still just sitting there?

Yes, as of 12/13/2023, the opening is set for 1/9/2024. See menu at https://www.phoebesdiner.com/menu-at-phoebes-garcyfarms

I couldn't get the "Join Waitlist" on Toasttab to work for the downtown location. It worked for other locations but not the one we wanted. So we waited about 15 minutes (not a huge deal) but why offer and even advertise it at the restaurant if it doesn't work? 2. When walking in to get on the waitlist, I was waiting behind someone who was being helped. Another person walked in behind me to also get on the list, and a second employee helped them first and skipped me. Again, not a big deal, but just not a great way to start, especially when I'd been annoyed with item 1 to even get on the list at all. Please attend the line and not the person pushing their way in. 3. The shrimp on my shrimp and grits were amazing and plentiful but I had almost no grits in that skillet. Maybe there should be a different serving vessel and they would be more present. Tasty but I had two bites with any significant amount of grit to shrimp ratio! Would I come back? Yes! None of the things above are deal breakers but just annoying for a first time patron. If it continues to happen, I'd reconsider my answer. But as almost everything here is gluten free, which is huge, it gives them a lot of grace with me! Even the gravy, which I had on the Cheeky Monkey was gf and sooooo good! Best thing I ate there!

I called to see if Paperboy was open and if they had a long wait. There was a recording that said to text only. I texted but didn't receive a response. So we went to check it out. When we walked in we weren't greeted with a "hi how are you?" We just got a cold stare from the hostess and a "We're at full capacity". That's it. It was around 2:20 and they close a 3 pm so it wasn't like we were coming in at 5 minutes before closing. When we left, my daughter even said that girl was mean. If you don't like people then maybe find a job where you aren't face to face with customers. Austin certainly has changed. I've been here for over 25 years. I don't know if it's now an East Austin thing to be snooty and treat people rudely, but we went to Lou's Barton Springs last week with our dog and it was completely different experience. They were welcoming and the employees were all super friendly and nice. My daughter and I enjoyed our experience there and never again will we step into Paperboy East and be treated that way. I'd like better experiences for my kid that was born and raised in here Austin and don't want to subject her to places where we will be treated badly. BTW The right thing to have done is smile, say "good afternoon, I'm sorry but we are at full capacity. Thank you for coming I and please try us another time." It's really not hard. It's called human decency.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.
