I loved the hollandaise sauce on the eggs, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, but the crispy masa cakes were the real stars of the show. I also had to order some pancakes and they were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, also they were amazing! My wife said that was the best shrimp and grits she's ever had and the bartenders who served us were so very nice. Service- Went here on a Thursday Morning around 10:45am. Plenty of open seating so zero wait time.The server was friendly and accommodating. Ambiance- Clean and spacious. Plenty of things on the walls to love at and a handful of tv screens. Food- Ordered the Brisket Benny. Very underwhelming. The egg was cooked well with a nice hard fried bottom yet still very yolky. The brisket on the other hand was bland and tasted like stewed chuck roast. The brisket also had a huge layer of silver skin which was left of which seems like a huge over sight. Well, we lucked out - apparently it's dead in Austin during the holidays. We opted to share the cornbread muffins to start. I opted for the fried chicken and grits. I loved the maple hot sauce - perfect balance of sweet heat. If you have been to their location off of Oltorf, identical menus as expected. However, this location has a much larger seating capacity and more abundant parking. The food is delicious as usual. I went with my usual Big Bacon and Eggs. They had some specials going on, but I couldn't pass up on the big slab of bacon. Service seemed kind of busy due to the amount of people here. The diner is a cute little spot nicely decorated for Christmas and the staff was very nice and accommodating. When I called to make sure they were open, the hostess was very upbeat and welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and checking to make sure we were taken care of. The food is very fulfilling with a unique take on their dishes. The shrimp and grits were very good but it had a lot of oils and butter. When transferring it to my to-go box, I had to drain the oils on the plate, so if you're on any kind of diet, you'll be set back for weeks lol but it's completely worth it! My boyfriend got the Brisket Benny, which looked really good but he wasn't a fan-yet ate it all lol. I tried the hash brown casserole and didn't really like it. I couldn't quite figure out what ingredient it had that made it have a weird herb taste to it but I would not recommend it and suggest another side. I'm glad we arrived before 10:30 for brunch; the place got really full soon after. The atmosphere is definitely that of a diner. It was quite noisy when full, so not great for conversation, especially at tables in the middle. There are a few booths down one side that likely would be quieter. The food was very innovative for a diner. Be sure to check out the menu before you go. The combinations of eggs with veggies were unique and tasty. There are a lot of gluten-free options. Pricing looks high at first glance but is justified by both the quality and quantity. Service was very good, and surprisingly fast. This days journey takes me to the states capital, looking for a good breakfast. I've been to this diner near the capital building but today I'm farther away but still was craving a wonderful breakfast. It so just happened that my craving was to be satisfied with a diner is also located in this area of Austin. The diner in question is Phoebe's, if you know this place you know why this place is special. As you enter the restaurant you see a good amount of seating and the hostess takes you to your seat. If you are fortunate you are assigned Lilith (I hope I read her name correctly) to take your order, even though all the staff seem to be very friendly and qualified for the job upon them. As you are seated you are asked for your drink order I choose a cup of coffee, which was excellent and promptly refilled, now the adventure begins choosing what you'll have for breakfast. I selected the Brisket Burrito, it's an item I've chosen before and I wasn't disappointed here. The brisket was tender and very flavorful and it was paired with a wonderful salsa and outstanding potatoes. I highly recommend this place, it has a good vibe and great atmosphere and the food is always on point. read more

Phoebe's diner needs to be knocked down a notch in the review world. They don't have specialized coffee such as lates which is a bummer. Most of their meals includes a base of some sort of gravy which makes it hard to eat healthy. Even their omelets have gravy in them. Their grits taste like just gravy as well. They try to change a lot of classics and give them a gravy twist. Great if you're into that but I don't really like gravy with everything. The only healthy looking thing on the menu is a parfait. We didn't have a wait at all to be seated, however I would definitely join the waitlist. The after church rush is real. Inside has spacious seating and nice decor for Easter. We got seated immediately and ordered brisket benny, an omlette (forget the name) and brisket burrito. My partner and sister said the brisket are too much intense with BBQ flavor that other thjngs couldnt shine through. My dish was made different from their other location and was very cheesy in the middle. I didn't love my omelette either. The portion was big, two of us couldnt finish my food - which is the usual at diners. TLDR: The food at this location is not as good as the other two but the wait is much better. read more

I opted for the Migas add Chorizo. The fried green tomatoes were cooked perfectly but had no flavor. It was pretty batter with absolutely no salt which was surprising. The potatoes that accompanied the Migas were actually the best part of the dish. The green Chorizo was ground and added inside of the eggs. It was barely noticeable and the entire dish lacked flavor. It was quit mushy to say the least. The pancakes were very dense. The side of bacon was literally one piece of extremely thick bacon. The plus is that the flavor was good. And the grits.. were sweet and cheesy; which wasn't a good thing. I'm usually a sweet grits girl and my partner cheesy. However, it's one or the other.. not together. Also, they were way too thick.
