Polenta Benedict
Bre M.

Few things to consider here... This place is awesome for families, the service is phenomenal, and I love the quirky Austin vibe it holds onto that's merged with a French inspiration. The food is also good, but some items are hit or miss. For example, I got the polenta Benedict and it was average at best. My spouse got the biscuits and gravy and said they were good. The spinach and artichoke dip was also very good, and the chips that came with them were excellent and thick. I love that they provided a croissant per person as soon as we sat down. Much needed when you have a hangover! We will definitely be back. I love their pecan crusted chicken they have... And I'm hopeful that there are better brunch dishes for me.

Best pecan waffle ever! The food arrived quickly, even during a busy Sunday brunch. I came with a small group of four and got there before it got crowded. They also offer complimentary valet parking, which saved me since I was running late after I finished the Cap10k. Not sure how it would be with a group of 20, but it was a great experience with a small group.

I think this is a really cute local diner. The interior is decorated so cute and the staff really went all the way with decorating our table for a birthday. The complimentary breakfast croissants here are soooo yummy with the strawberry butter!

Heard great things about this tenured spot. It appears to be a popular brunch spot. Cute interior. Lots of tables and a counter. Service was great and friendly. Overall, wasn't impressed by the food. The highlight was the complimentary croissant and the accompanying butter jam combo. Seriously the jam! I would go again for the live jazz music an Le the croissant! It is an ideal place to choose for brunch with a group!

Had a lovely brunch at Chez Zee with my mom, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The restaurant has such a cute and lively atmosphere--perfect for a weekend brunch. We started with the complimentary croissants and butter, which were flaky, buttery, and a great little treat to start the meal. I got the French Toast Breakfast, and it was perfection: thick, fluffy slices accompanied by eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes. My mom went with the All American Breakfast, a classic done right. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was great too--friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially for the croissants alone! Highly recommend.

Classic Eggs Benedict w/Canadian Bacon, Side of Fruit & Cup of Tomato Basil Soup

Our party of 7 came in for a 1 PM birthday brunch reservation. Parking was pretty hectic. They offer free valet, but it was still backed up to the street with cars. Luckily while waiting some guests were leaving and we were able to snag a spot on our own. We were sat near the piano. The piano player was definitely a nice touch. Young man...played beautifuly, but kind of didn't look too happy to be there. Maybe he was having a bad day. Smile and be happier and hope his day got better They were running a drink special for $5 bloody Marys and $3 OJ mimosas. Only OJ. If you ordered another juice price would go up. We don't like lots of OJ in our champagne and the waitress was able to bring us the OJ on the side to pour ourselves. I love it when restaurants are able to do that. They bring you complimentary delicious and quite large croissants for the table with a yummy butter. Butter is mixed with something delish. We decided to split the Classic Eggs Benedict entree with one sausage pattie and one Canadian Bacon. Swapped out the side potatoes for fruit and added a side of bacon. I love when restaurants voluntarily serve your split meal on two plates without your request. The boyfriend requested the side of bacon and I the tomato basil soup. The soup was good, but not the texture I was anticipating. I enjoyed the crispy croutons, but the soup was more of a marinara dip than soup. Kinda of chunky consistency. I dipped the croissant in it. Our table ordered a bowl of Bacon and that was so delish with the maple syrup. Can never have too much bacon! To close out the birthday girl chose a chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. Both absolutely delicious.

I had an amazing experience at Chez Zee. The customer service was phenomenal. From the hostess, to our sweet server Ruth, to the manager who gave us a free appetizer because of a spill that occurred close to our table, everyone was amazing. Now on to the food ... Complementary croissants: great. Soft on the inside and flaky on the outside. It comes with strawberry butter (love the fresh strawberries in it) French Toast - comes with bacon, eggs, and potatoes. Lots of food for just $14. It was good. The bacon was cooked to perfection. My friend got the crab omelette - SO GOOD. If you like crab, I 10/10 would recommend. The atmospherics are also so unique and cute. It feels like a fun, eclectic home. In conclusion, GO TO CHEZ ZEE. The food is great and I could literally feel the love in the room.

My drink was called The Bee's Knees. So good!

We met friends for a Friday night date night and it was so good. I had Steak Frites. my husband had the pork chop. my friend is gluten free and loves this place because she has so many options. Service was perfect and dessert was WOW! Loved the free valet parking too. they had some really good live music when we were there -the place was packed, great vibe all around. Cute patio too it was a great night. will be back,

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method.
