If you want highly flavorful vegan/vegetarian dishes, Bouldin Creek is the place to go. They also make a great drink, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The portions are large and reasonably priced. The servers are well informed and can guide you with ease. They add a 20% surcharge, but are transparent about it from the start. I like the old school Austin funky vibe of the restaurant. Parking could be better, but that's to be expected for the location.

Ambiance is very much Austin- it's quirky, eclectic and very fun! Expect to wait, we had to for about 40 minutes on a Saturday but you can roam local shops. Our server was so sweet and attentive throughout our entire meal and food comes out fast. Favorites were their chipotle pecan pesto- a must try! I enjoyed my fajitas as well, they were grilled and seasoned to perfection. Good spot for some vegan brunch!

This was our only must-stop place to eat during a brief trip through Austin, and it did not disappoint. I had a hard time deciding what to get off the menu since everything looked so good, and everything on the menu can be made vegan. We both loved our food and maybe even more so the ethos and the incredible service. Make it a point when you go to spend sometime walking around the neighborhood and checking out some of the local businesses and architecture.

This chaotically busy little cafe served up some really good flavors on a Friday evening! There is some open seating at long tables and at the bar along with tables throughout the restaurant. I ordered a bulgogi bowl and a chagaccino. Both were surprisingly full of flavor and very fun to eat/drink. The chagaccino (no caffeine) was not too far off of a latte in flavor. The bulgogi bowl was spicier than I expected but very delicious. If you're in the area an want something fresh, I would highly recommend this place.

Really great vegetarian options! We had the Veggie Royale and Lisa's Bowl. Both were really good. Patio was large and dog-friendly, and service was great!

We had a nice time gathering with family friends at Bouldin Creek for dinner this past weekend. They don't take reservations so you have to hope you'll get seated in time. We had a large group of 10 people and one of the people put our name on the list when they arrived and were told it would be about 30 min...and hour or so later we were finally seated. The large group before us took extra time to finish and leave the table even after a few gentle nudges from the wait staff. The food was great and our waiter offered us a free guacamole for the long wait time hassle which was nice as we were pretty hungry by the time we sat down! They also offered to take our drink orders while we were waiting so they would be ready when we got seated, which was thoughtful. Overall a good experience and would love it if one day they took reservations as I know every time I've been there for brunch in the past, there has been a long wait.

Whether I'm trying vegan, vegetarian, or just having breakfast all day, I love me some Bouldin Creek Cafe. They have my favorite hummus, new found CHALUPA (bet - it's cheap, healthy, AND delicious), and oatmeal cream pie. Three things to keep me coming back, aside from their local-loving vibes, equitable payment practices, and easy parking for indoor/outdoor seating. It's home-base for the SoFi souls.

This place is a true replica and long time icon of Austin. I came for brunch and enjoyed chilaquiles. They had great drinks and portion sizes. The waiters were nice and the amount of seating is plenty. We enjoyed our brunch outdoors that day. I'm usually a bit uncertain about full vegan / vegetarian places but this place looks like it's done it right and made it homely. I'll be back to try a few more dishes!

Bouldin Creek Cafe has an extensive menu filled with creative, freshly made, and tasty items. You can choose between vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. We tried the grilled blueberry cornbread, it was hearty and delicious. The potato leek omelet was very good with refried black beans and potato hash. The breakfast scramwich was very good. Also, the massaman jackfruit curry was quite good - it would definitely get it again. The great yumpkin late (it was October) and matcha late was very good. Also try the spicy pesto, made with chipolte and pecans and served with ciabatta wedges, just delicious and not a dish you find in many spots. The Bouldin Creek Cafe is Austin ground central - the look and feel of the cafe, the servers, the food, it's all a great, homey, local vibe. All our servers were super nice and attentive.

Walking away from Boudin Creek Cafe, we were super surprised at how delicious the food was!! We ordered the Egg Potato Leek Omelet, Tofu Neal Taco, and Blueberry Cornbread. Starting off with the coconut water, it was so refreshing, just what we needed on a hot summer day. The main star of the show was the Egg Potato Leek Omelet!! It was cooked to perfection and the salad that came along side with it was dressed perfectly. The orangey vinaigrette paired so well with the salad. We also tried their famous Blueberry Cornbread, but that was less impressive. Note: There is a 20% Fair Wage Surcharge to every bill.

Been here many times usually get the Maximo or Tipico. Most recently the Tofu scramble with potatoes and leeks was so delicious. I'm not vegetarian and eat eggs but I get a tofu scramble every time. It's just so dang tasty. Quintessential "weird" Austin vibe with random stuff hanging all over. Feels like home and the service is always friendly. Expect a wait during typical brunch times on weekends. Patio is heated and was comfortable when it was 40 degrees outside.

We went here for breakfast & really enjoyed it. It was kind of crowded on a Saturday, so we sat at the bar. My husband loves coffee & said they made a good cup of coffee. I had a vegetarian omelet with a pecan pesto & it was great. The hash browns were wonderful. They had a lot of staff taking care of us. The atmosphere was very fun. There were stickers everywhere. We made a friend at the bar too, so it had a friendly vibe. It was fun & delicious.

OVERVIEW: Pretty rad vegetarian/vegan breakfast spot - I understand all the hype! A true Austin vibe spot located off of S 1st street, this place is pretty busy on the weekends and offers up great breakfast, lunch, and dinner plates. We arrived just around 11:30am on a Sunday and fortunately had checked in on Yelp, so we were seated almost immediately. We took first available which was outside, but it wasn't terrible. The drinks are not that great, but the breakfast items hit! I will definitely revisit! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Small, tight lot in the back but plenty of street parking. - Reservations? No, but you can join the waitlist ahead of time when you're on the way. FOOD/DRINK RATINGS: - Drinks (2/5): Not what they're known for and that's okay. The matcha was not good quality, the fog latte was okay, and the mocha was meh. I would probably stick to drip coffee or juice here. - Potato and leek omelette (5/5): This was the BEST thing we ordered! So good. And the black beans as a side are so tasty!!! Really enjoyed this and will definitely order again. - Zucchini migas (3/5): Not bad but not the best. Needed more salt and seasoning (spice or flavor). Just a basic scramble. - Golden oats (4/5): Pretty tasty! I enjoyed the thickness almost being like an oat bread. Good flavor and good for you! - Blueberry cornbread (3/5): A little drier than I'd like, but not bad. It's the sweetest thing on the menu (like, in lieu of pancakes or something). Comes with butter and syrup.

How are they re: gluten free options?

yes their are. it is a small kitchen so there is some risk but as someone who works there I know there has never been an issue that I know of. lots of gluten fee folks dine there.

    Dogs allowed on patio?

    They are allowed :)

Is the live wait time active? And is seating on a first come first seated basis?

Yes, the live wait time is accurate. I always get on the waitlist with Yelp and check in when I get there.

Do you generally need reservations (if they take them)/what's a normal weekend wait for lunch?

No reservations, just a waitlist you can check into online

    Are there Vegan pancakes?

Yes they have vegan pancakes...EDIT!!! Terry is right there is NO vegan pancakes here. I confused this place with another breakfast place I went to. Try there vegan cornbread. It was excellent.

Does anyone know if they are open for Easter?

    Yes

Do they offer breakfast all day?

Yes they do and it's delicious!!

Hours on website say it doesn't open until 5pm Sunday. Is that right?

Hours are 7a to midnight M-F and 8-midnight sat and Sun.

The soup and tea were amazing as well, and there was a piece of paper on the table with explanations about the tea. Even on a Monday in December, this place had everything that I needed. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. BUY IN STORE -- Not online…read more I truly hate writing this review because Rebel Cheese's products are excellent but the fulfillment and customer experience were a mess from start to finish. I ordered a holiday cheese box on December 3 as a Christmas gift. My card was charged immediately. The order never shipped, and I received no communication until I followed up myself, multiple times. After the holidays, I learned (only because I kept pushing) that my order had been internally canceled due to a system glitch, with no email, no refund, and no outreach. I was repeatedly told it would ship on specific dates that came and went. A replacement order was finally sent in January. It arrived late, wet, with melted and ruptured ice packs, and the cheese was very soft to the point my friends weren't sure it was safe to eat. The box also lacked the gift note that was supposed to be included. What bothers me most is that my card would have stayed charged indefinitely if I hadn't chased this down myself. That's not okay especially for perishable food. It's a real shame, because the product itself is great. On the day before Thanksgiving I found out they did not ship my order and essentially asked that I understand because they are so busy. They offered to ship my order later and they would throw something in for free for my inconvenience. This was a standard poorly written customer communication. I replied and explained how after their reassurances they had left me without my order or sufficient time to find a suitable replacement. This time a got a genuine reply from Luis, but same offer full refund, or some free item. It nice for them that they are so busy that they can't fulfill customer orders on time. My experience was being left holding the bag last minute and not much in the way of an apology.

It instantly reminded me of PB&Js with grape jelly that my mom used to pack for me as a kid. 8. Burnt butter apple cake with maple ice cream - I'm a sucker for anything apple, and this combination was next-level. The perfect way to end the tasting. Overall, I had an amazing experience. The service was outstanding, the space was intimate and ideal for a date night, and the food was thoughtful and creative. I'll definitely be back for the spring menu. You don't have to be vegan to love this spot!

I've been wanting to go back, but it's always fully booked. Honestly, I'm happy they're so busy, and I know I'll get my chance to experience it again. In the meantime, I love that more people are getting to enjoy it!

Fry Let me tell you…read moreabout FTG. The little food truck in the back of a sweet-ass dive bar called Mama Dearest. Do you wanna know about the dive bar? You'll have to check out my other review. But just know it's filled with weird taxidermy and novelty items that are one of a kind. But I digress. Back to the food. I would like to tell you I tried everything on the menu as many times as I came here. But alas, only four or five things. Unfortunately, their pierogies are the best thing I've ever had. Not just in Austin, but ever. I am now desperately seeking pierogies that rival FTG's. It's not just the pierogies themselves... but the sauce, it would make angels sing. Every time I tried something new, my heart would long for the pierogies. I finally gave in to my desires and quit trying other new things. I think next time I go back I'm just going to ask strangers if I can have a bite of their food, so I can say I've tried everything. But until then, this review is for what I have tried. After the pierogies. My next favorite things in order. Fried chicken (perfectly crisp bites), jerk chicken (little spicy, not dry, perfect), chilli (so spicy), gnocchi. The cheesecake would technically rank after the pierogies, but because they're a dessert I don't wanna mess up the order here and confuse y'all. The two dudes that work this truck, are here EVERY time. I'm pretty sure the only days they take off is Mondays and Tuesdays. Tell them the girl from Kansas City with a big dog sent to you. Lastly. Know that you won't find this place overrun with college kids or snotty hipsters. Just regular people enjoying a good dive bar.

Rating: 2.7/5 [Postmates delivery]…read more We were so excited to try FTG's food, especially given its high Yelp rating. Unfortunately, it ended up being extremely disappointing. The meats were unforgivably dry, though everything else was good. Steak & Zab ($22): The zab, a mix of green beans, mushrooms, and broccoli tossed in salsa macha with sabayon, was actually enjoyable. I liked the flavors, but it was a bit too creamy/saucy for my husband (likely due to the sabayon). The steak, however, was dry and very chewy. Asian Style Spare Ribs ($17): This came with a 1/3 rack of spare ribs, a Thai cabbage salad, and five-spice fried potatoes. The potatoes were fire, and the salad was solid. But again, the meat missed the mark--super dry for the most part. We tried dipping it in the sabayon and other sauces to add moisture, but it didn't help. The fish sauce glaze didn't come through either. The only redeeming quality was the generous portion size.
