Fabrik was the best culinary experience I think I've ever had in my life. A 7 course vegan tasting menu? Sign me up! I went here twice, one was for their winter menu, and the other for their spring menu. I was completely amazed both times. The food is so tasty! They use ingredients that are readily available for that season, and they transform them into something you would never think about. On top of that, it's incredibly filling! I was about to tap out by the 5th course both times but had to keep going for the desserts. I genuinely recommend Fabrik to anyone, it's an experience worth going for! I can't wait till I go back :)

Really just so good. The staff was great. The food was amazing!!!!! The wait was minimal. The price was fair if anything I wish the bathroom was better. It was like an airplane bathroom but red. Hahah ha Would recommend!!!

First off, I'm not vegan. Not even close. But, I'd consider it if Fabrik was making all my meals! The service is great and the small dining area is intimate and cozy. We have paid twice as much for a fixed menu and left half as satisfied. There wasn't a single course we didn't enjoy and there were several I'll be dreaming about for a while (namely the carrot chowder, the bread course, and the amuse bouche.) I enjoyed the wine pairings as well. I don't usually like Chardonnay, but I'll be trying to find that bottle! Looking forward to bringing others and trying more seasonal menus. Well done!

I really like Fabrik's vegan concept. They have a creative menu, and they excel on several levels. But they have room to improve in certain areas. Expect to street park in the neighborhood if you've drive. The entrance to Fabrik is on MLK. Parking is generally not really an issue if you are mobile and can walk. I would imagine wheelchair access on the street is more difficult. However, there is a ramp that leads up to the restaurant. Once you enter, you'll have a choice of seating depending on when you arrive. They have two seating areas. The first is more brightly lit and closer to the kitchen action, where you first enter. The second area is darker, stuffier, "upstairs" room illuminated by hanging lightbulbs, adorned by a black curtain, and hallway to the bathroom. Staff frequently pass through the curtain with beverages. The single bathroom down the hallway is clean and has a sliding door secured by a latch. We opted for the non-alcoholic beverage pairing to go with the seven course autumn 2024 menu. Incidentally, their NA pairing was just a NA wine pairing. It was fine, but I did wish they offered a custom beverage pairing featuring items other than fermented grape juice. I would skip the wine pairing next time. Service was polite, but it was also surprisingly sloppy for this style of restaurant. Although each dish and beverage was explained, the dish and glass placement on the table was rather ad-hoc, though it could be because of lack of table top real estate. What was a clear error was failing to replenish silverware between courses, and not noticing the missing utensils when the next course was brought out. We flagged down a staff member to ask for replacements. Further throughout the evening, we observed sloppier placement: utensils would be placed at an angle to the utensil holder. Even if they were in a rush, this was obvious carelessness and it was communicated through their rushed utensil placement. It would have been better to simply hand over utensils directly. Food: Out of the 7 courses, there were 3 fabulous standouts. Carrot chowder from the amuse bouche set. Bread topped with furikake in the bear hill course. Butternut squash agnolotti from the Johnsons farm course. The Granny Smith course had issues. Perhaps it was meant to be refreshing, but it did not taste so. It was confusing--with daikon probably bitter from the yuzu, rather than a sweet radish flavor. Trying different combinations of items in that dish together didn't really help. The kelp "roe" fell flat--it failed to emulate roe or caviar tastes and textures (it would have been more impressive if they were able to pull this off)--rather it ended up tasting like bland slightly crunchy jelly. It was unclear what they were going for in this bite. Everything else was quite enjoyable and expertly prepared in a way to that really highlighted how they could transform, extract, and accentuate flavors from their ingredients. The amuse bouches were intriguing and carrot-based, and made me realize how little I knew about carrots, especially what seems to be a deceivingly simple carrot chowder. The crisp was interesting. For the bread course, the nut/seed butter was wonderful, and the cashew paste with the tomatoes was a hit. The focaccia was lightly "buttered" with the right amount of salt, but flavor paled in comparison to the lil' furikake-topped bread on the side. Bonfire course contained a crème fraîche like spread, along with a beet-based sauce that went well with the cauliflower and oyster mushrooms. On top of something akin to a crispy cornbread. The hay ice cream had a nice texture with the puffed rice; overall it had that baked apple with vanilla ice cream vibe. The ice cream definitely had an interesting viscous consistency though. The butternut squash course packaged a lot of flavor inside little black bundles, but the addition of the three harissa oil drops in the acorn pumpkin purée made the experience more interesting. The dessert tart was yummy. Presence of the crust seemed to mute the cherry and chocolate flavors; I definitely enjoyed the bites containing less crust because I wanted to taste the cherry and cacao. The toasted meringue did not seem to be toasted, since it was entirely soft and had no shell. Verdict: definitively NOT blow your socks off levels of excitement for a return meal. But, it is definitely a try at least once, considering how they are transforming vegan cuisine: you're guaranteed to enjoy at least 42 percent of your meal. The service element can easily be improved. Their tasting menus will evolve and likely keep improving. If they can pull off an interesting and diverse beverage pairing program consistent with their tasting menu, the pairing + tasting menu would likely garner more interest.

This is a fantastic Vegan Omakases experience. The food is unbelievably good. The service is top notch. They have limited seating and it's reservation only. The ambiance is low light and not loud at all. The servers are engaging and friendly. The cocktail program is not to be but they do have a proper wine list. I've looked for a great vegetarian place for high end meals and this fits the bill. Do not sleep on this, go and treat yourself. The price is very good for Omakases style.

Tried to get reservations here forever and finally found a spot when someone cancelled on a Friday night. They were featuring the 2025 Winter menu and it did not disappoint. Every dish was delicious. My faves were the bread with spreads, the cabbage dish, the pasta and the two dessert courses. I only disliked one course and it was because simply no matter how hard I try, I hate beets. They gave me a few extra cappellacci when they saw I didn't eat my beets. Service was outstanding, everyone who came to our table was so nice and knowledgeable. I also loved how they have alcohol free wine! I would recommend this place to anyone and I would love to go back! 5 plus stars!!!!

Hands down my most favorite place in Austin. I really do hope that they get a Michelin star soon. Well, honestly I am a little conflicted on that because I am worried if they get a Michelin star that I will never get a reservation again at the restaurant, it is so so so good. :) I love the delicious food there and Mary who has served us now twice we like her so much. She knows so much about the food, the wine pairing and is such a gracious person that makes this restaurant feel like we are dining at a family establishment. The food is delicious and of high-quality. The chef really knows what they are doing here And honestly the seven course menu makes you really really full. They have a seasonal menu and I hope to keep going back every season to enjoy the new additions to their menu. as a vegan, I would highly recommend this place. Please definitely go check it out. Reservations are needed much much much in advance so plan accordingly

Fabrik is an absolute gem! As a vegetarian (not vegan) I absolutely loved almost all their dishes and did not find myself missing cream/butter that I normally find that I miss in vegan food. Each dish was full of flavor and extremely satisfying. My husband, who is stoutly a carnivore with a huge appetite, loved his meal as well and walked away full. Prices currently when we went was $85 for 7 courses, which I thought was an extremely fair price considering you could go other high end restaurants and spend that much for only an appetizer and main course. This place is great for special occasion or intimate date night and I appreciate there is a high end vegetarian dining option for those who want to have a special celebration. It is a very cozy and intimate space without being pretentious. Our waitress was great and carefully attended to us. My dad is handicapped and I appreciate there were accommodations for him. The restaurant only sits 16 people at time in dinner service. There are two separate seating areas, one upstairs and one downstairs near the kitchen. If you want a more private, moody setting, I would suggest asking to be sat in the upstairs area. If you do not mind a slightly louder ambiance and seeing the kitchen prepare the dishes, than the downstairs area would be best. I lucked out on getting reservations via Open Table two days prior to our dinner - the restaurant staff mentioned that they are booked fully until February 2025 but that if you keep checking the table about 2 days before your desired date tables reservations sometime open up. I would not recommend a reservation greater than 4 people - we had 4 people for our reservation and it took up the table. Almost all their tables are for groups of 2-4 people. Food wise our menu consisted of amuses (appetizers) that consisted of crispy potato croquette, pasta (gondolini) and braised daikon dish. My favorite was the croquette. It followed with focaccia (which was to die for and so buttery), parker house rolls, roasted carrot chowdah (which was deliciously smoky and yummy which is saying something as I hate carrots), charred mushrooms served on polenta, butternut squash agnolliti and two desserts one cacao mousse tart and ice cream served with great apple compote. All the dishes I had were deliciously yummy and after the meal I was very full. Parking wise there is free parking on Leona street or Salina street.

I've been wanting to try out Fabrik since they opened last year. They are usually fully booked 6 weeks in advance. Anyhow, I was finally able to snag a reservation and we had such a wonderful experience tonight. My husband and I are not vegans but we loved every single dish that came out. All of the dishes were unique and tasty. The bread course was my favorite - I don't know how they were able to make the dinner rolls so soft and fluffy..it was better than any bread I've had at any restaurant before. My other favorite was the daikon with nori caviar - it was so tasty and it resembled tuna tartare. I also enjoyed the bonfire mushroom dish. The demi-glace was divine. The desserts were also really good. Having two desserts to finish off a delicious meal is always a plus. We will definitely be back and if you haven't been here before you need to book your reservation now ;).

We have been several times since to Fabrik and it just keeps getting better and better. Recently tried the wine pairing which was so fun. Cannot more highly recommend Fabrik and don't forget to have your reservations booked in advance!!!!

The food here was amazing and incredible as everything is plant based. I have never been to an all vegan restaurant before and was excited to try this seasonal prefixed menu. I went during their Summer menu and it was absolutely delicious, I'm vegetarian myself and my boyfriend eats meat so I was scared he would not really enjoy the courses and leave hungry. However, that was most certainly not the case. We both agreed this was one of the best meals we have ever had and left beyond satiated. Everything was incredible from the food, to the wine pairings, to the server bringing out and explaining all of the courses. We went for my birthday and they brought out another dessert with a candle and took our picture at the end. Everything here was so nice and I can't wait to try their other menus.

The 7 course meal is amazing. Make sure you have reservations because it fills fast. Everything is so delicious and pretty. There is kombucha on the menu.

squash wonton, caviar and dill cracker
    Cathy L.

Not normally a vegan but I do love seeing what fine dining places do with this constraint and what innovations they can come up with using just vegetables. My personal favorites were the wonton tart with squash, focaccia with chili hummus, carrot tartare, cacio pepe, and reisling sherbert. They all had interesting flavors and textures and were nothing like I'd try before. My least favorites were the gochujang mushrooms (really didn't like the gochujang) and apple pie tart (which seemed very popular, but I just thought the flavors weren't very unique but wonderful execution nonetheless). I would definitely come back to try more, as they swap out their tasting menu every season, and I enjoyed the majority of the dishes and thought it was a fun experience. One note I will add is that it's a very small space with about 6 tables and unfortunately, we were seated right by the door. Every time the door opened, a cold gust would blast us. The car headlights ruined the ambience and we could see a cockroach outside on the street, which they aren't responsible for, but I think some curtains or fogging of the large windows would help keep the space intimate.

It also took ages to make and get our food. I know vegan food does tend to take longer because of the care process, but this was another level. They did not call our names when the food was ready and it took ages. We even came to check on our food a few times and it was not ready. Ambiance Food truck in the middle of an empty lot. We tried half the trucks. Burgers, tacos, and cheesecake were on the menu because the others were closed at the time. I tried a taco two-fer at Rockin Vegan Tacos, which has evolved its presentation and probably food through the years. The KBBQ rib taco on a flour taco was yummy. Taste and flavor excelled over the somewhat disjointed and unmeldedness of the overall taco. The vegan bacon on my scramble tasted pretty salty and greasy- true to its inspiration tho bacon in any form won't be missed by me- however the scramble "egg" was eggcellent. Truly. Not just being punny. Don't forget to grab some sauces from the little labeled mini cooler to the left of the counter. That chipotle sauce slaps. The fries from Nom Burger were a skinny fried surprise! Well seasoned and addicting, watch out. They also provide organic ketchup packets without high frucgross corn syrup- min approved. The buns weren't warmed and at a 3:1:.25 bread to patty to cheese ratio, cheeseburger was just ok. The cute little cheesecake truck serves vegan and non vegan options. $10-11 in little glass jars which can be returned for future discounts. The cookies and cream was a layered and light treat. A nice way to wrap up the meal and extend your time in this cute, colorful, casual, Austiny spot. Bathrooms are in the mural building through a white door behind the trash bin, take the first right. I spied Uber cookies on the closed coffee truck menu and shall return for those.

I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. I ordered a holiday cheese box on December 3 as a Christmas gift. My card was charged immediately. The order never shipped, and I received no communication until I followed up myself, multiple times. After the holidays, I learned (only because I kept pushing) that my order had been internally canceled due to a system glitch, with no email, no refund, and no outreach. I was repeatedly told it would ship on specific dates that came and went. A replacement order was finally sent in January. It arrived late, wet, with melted and ruptured ice packs, and the cheese was very soft to the point my friends weren't sure it was safe to eat. The box also lacked the gift note that was supposed to be included. What bothers me most is that my card would have stayed charged indefinitely if I hadn't chased this down myself. That's not okay especially for perishable food. It's a real shame, because the product itself is great. But based on this experience, I can't recommend ordering gifts or anything time-sensitive unless the fulfillment and communication processes dramatically improve.

On the day before Thanksgiving I found out they did not ship my order and essentially asked that I understand because they are so busy. They offered to ship my order later and they would throw something in for free for my inconvenience. This was a standard poorly written customer communication. I replied and explained how after their reassurances they had left me without my order or sufficient time to find a suitable replacement. This time a got a genuine reply from Luis, but same offer full refund, or some free item. It nice for them that they are so busy that they can't fulfill customer orders on time. My experience was being left holding the bag last minute and not much in the way of an apology.

The food is incredible, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff truly make this place special. Huge shoutout to amazing team members Ariel and Emily for being so warm and kind. The chef even made our pup Zoloft a pup cup today, which was such a sweet gesture. The lovely woman who helped us during our last visit also gave Zoloft a pup cup, so they've consistently shown kindness to our little family. They even gave complimentary vegan cookies to guests when we arrived (not sure if it was a special promotion, but such a thoughtful touch!). And the ice cream... WOW. Made with lentils, and honestly some of the best ice cream we've ever had--rich, creamy, and unforgettable. Friendly staff, delicious food, thoughtful service, and creative plant-based treats. Mission Burger is a gem in Austin, and we'll absolutely be back again whenever we return to Austin

As for the food, I was amazed that it was all plant-based and made with high-quality ingredients. I ordered the Ruben, Steak Burger, and Lemon Pepper Chicken Sandwich. They were all great, but my personal favorite was the Lemon Pepper Chicken Sandwich.

Fry Let me tell you…read moreabout FTG. The little food truck in the back of a sweet-ass dive bar called Mama Dearest. Do you wanna know about the dive bar? You'll have to check out my other review. But just know it's filled with weird taxidermy and novelty items that are one of a kind. But I digress. Back to the food. I would like to tell you I tried everything on the menu as many times as I came here. But alas, only four or five things. Unfortunately, their pierogies are the best thing I've ever had. Not just in Austin, but ever. I am now desperately seeking pierogies that rival FTG's. It's not just the pierogies themselves... but the sauce, it would make angels sing. Every time I tried something new, my heart would long for the pierogies. I finally gave in to my desires and quit trying other new things. I think next time I go back I'm just going to ask strangers if I can have a bite of their food, so I can say I've tried everything. But until then, this review is for what I have tried. After the pierogies. My next favorite things in order. Fried chicken (perfectly crisp bites), jerk chicken (little spicy, not dry, perfect), chilli (so spicy), gnocchi. The cheesecake would technically rank after the pierogies, but because they're a dessert I don't wanna mess up the order here and confuse y'all. The two dudes that work this truck, are here EVERY time. I'm pretty sure the only days they take off is Mondays and Tuesdays. Tell them the girl from Kansas City with a big dog sent to you. Lastly. Know that you won't find this place overrun with college kids or snotty hipsters. Just regular people enjoying a good dive bar.

Rating: 2.7/5 [Postmates delivery]…read more We were so excited to try FTG's food, especially given its high Yelp rating. Unfortunately, it ended up being extremely disappointing. The meats were unforgivably dry, though everything else was good. Steak & Zab ($22): The zab, a mix of green beans, mushrooms, and broccoli tossed in salsa macha with sabayon, was actually enjoyable. I liked the flavors, but it was a bit too creamy/saucy for my husband (likely due to the sabayon). The steak, however, was dry and very chewy. Asian Style Spare Ribs ($17): This came with a 1/3 rack of spare ribs, a Thai cabbage salad, and five-spice fried potatoes. The potatoes were fire, and the salad was solid. But again, the meat missed the mark--super dry for the most part. We tried dipping it in the sabayon and other sauces to add moisture, but it didn't help. The fish sauce glaze didn't come through either. The only redeeming quality was the generous portion size.
