I ordered the combo platter and it came out to roughly $14 and some change. Service was quick, portions were hefty and the food was tasty. Gyro Center is the perfect spot for a quick bite if you're craving chicken over rice or a gyro. I really liked their plates as it felt loaded with meat, rice, and salad. We ordered: Combo plate Chicken plate We got both with white sauce and red sauce and all of the toppings. There's seating next to the cart and you'll get a buzzer that will let you know when your food is ready. The picnic tables were a nice touch and were a happy surprise because we thought we had to end up eating the food in the car. There's a roof over the tables so you won't get too much sun and can stay cool while eating. Great for a quick bite and would definitely come back again. I enjoyed the flavor of the food and it wasn't super salty. It's right next door to a market, if you need to use the restroom or pick up some last minute things you can stop by. This place is fricken bomb! Instantly became my favorite gyro/halal place in town. I got the combo gryo and it was packed with fillings/meat! Plus the sauce they put on it is soo soo good. It has like a pepery flavor to it that makes it top notch. Not a bad price either! It was a food truck style and the guy working the truck was cool. It's somewhat pricey, I've had cheaper ones with similar portions or higher portions at similar price. So average for taste, portion, pricing, sauces. From my first visit not long after it opened, Gyro Center has been delivering the best gyros in town and honestly, the best gyro I've had anywhere including Detroit and Chicago. Grabbed some food at this food truck in a rush. Gyro salad portion size was smaller than I expected, with a noticeable missing portion in the right (see image). For the price, it's much less food than even some sit down restaurants. I also found the flavor lacking -- the white and red sauce were not as flavorful and the lamb not as tender compared to halal food carts. read more

That being said, the yellow rice and gyro were solid, with the meat tender and flavorful! I especially liked the white sauce--creamy, garlicky, and I kept finding myself pouring more over the gyro and rice. The accompanying salad was a bit generic, though. I just finished my early dinner from here and this was good. For the record, I live near 2 other Mediterranean places. I'm always eager to have my husband try new Mediterranean because he's always looking out for the perfect gyro (best one he's had is in Chicago). I got the chicken plate and it was great - for chicken breast. I tend to avoid places that use chicken breast over thighs, but this was still really good and not dry or tough or the other things I tend to expect with chicken breast. There could've been more salad, but it helped that the rice was really good and not dry or hard. The salad had those Mediterranean pickles I like, and most importantly (the main reason I'm writing this review) the red onions are thinly sliced. I love red onions, but I can't take them thickly. I don't work in the food industry, but do people even complain about their onion slices not being thick enough? I can eat mouthfuls when they're sliced thin, but I can't eat a thick ring. There's normally a wait while they prepare your food but they give you a notification fob. So you can do whatever you need to instead of just sitting there in the sunlight waiting for your food. I normally go browse the convenience store next door looking at things I'm not planning on buying. If you're looking for a quick lunch stop, this is a great one consider. I love coming to this spot during lunch. It can get busy at times. Every time I come it is just as amazing. My first time coming I couldn't finish my food. So of course I took it home as leftovers. Truck looks clean and service was fine. Rice was ok if not a bit on the bland side compared to other Mediterranean trucks I've been to. Salad was also fine, but let's be honest it's just a garnish and it did the job of providing a refreshing crunch to balanced out the rest of the plate. The couple of added pickles were nice and crunchy and had the right amount of vinegar. But I didn't come for all of that. I came for the protein. Got two plates - 1 chicken skewer and 1 beef skewer. The beef was awful, grizzled, cooked unevenly and had no flavor - somehow - even after they poured the white sauce and hot red sauce on it. Maybe they had an off night - but if my livelihood depended on making a kebab I would do better. read more

The Gyro Center was the restaurant of choice after working 11 hours at the hospital. The convenient store has 2 food trucks on its property, and the Mediterranean food truck was the obvious choice. The menu had usual standard fair which consisted of wraps and plates, and I opted for chicken shawarma and lamb over rice with salad. The combo was freshly prepared and was hot. Both the lamb and chicken were moist and flavorful, and the rice was flavored well as well. The salad was surprisingly good because it was filled with crisp greens, onions, tomatoes and feta cheese. Also, the serving size was appropriate fur dinner. Finally, the service and food was great at this food truck. If you are by Seton or Central Market, search for the food truck. Delicious, flavorful, did I say delicious?! Wow, I think I just ate one of the best gyro wraps ever. Gyro center is parked at the rosedale market exxon. There is some outdoor seating but I took my wrap to-go. I asked for the white and red sauce on the side since I didn't want my wrap to get soggy before I ate it. I'm glad I did that. I was able to control the amount of sauce I put on. The white sauce is amazing and the red sauce is spicy. Both have a great flavor. The wrap itself was on a soft pita bread. It was packed with meat, and also had cucumber, lettuce and tomato. I waited about 5-10 min for my freshly made gyro wrap. The prices are very reasonable. Everything is halal which is a huge plus. My family walked over to Gyro Center to check out the new food trailer in the 'hood (Burnet & 45th Street, in the parking lot of Rosedale Market), and we were NOT disappointed. We got two gyro platters and two combo (gyro and chicken) platters. Each platter came with a generous portion of meats, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, topped with a garlicky white sauce. It was a ton of food for $8 a serving - I had half of mine for dinner and saved the rest for breakfast the next day. We also got the "snack" order of falafel - 6 for $5, and a side of fresh hummus (also $5). Total for a fantastic meal for 4 was just under $50. Be prepared to wait a short while for your food - but trust me, it is worth the wait. Only other advice is that if you are the kind of person who likes sauces on the side, definitely ask to have your white sauce on the side. I plan to do that next time. And there WILL BE a next time. read more
