I'm really glad I discovered this plant based food truck, no I didn't plant a flag, cuz it was there when I arrived. I ordered the black bean burrito and sweet potato fries. It was So Good and healthy I added to my favorite places. I'm sure my micro biome enjoyed the variety of ingredients. The people working it were kind, caring, generous and very good at making delicious food. There's plenty of picnic table seating and it's at Mueller park, so bring your friends and enjoy. Prices have gone up since they were called Conscious Cravings and had multiple locations, but what hasn't? The quality and portion sizes have remained consistent, making it a fair value for fast, healthy, vegan food. It's a bit old school, in a comforting, nostalgic way. Old school vegan in the Mueller food court. The park is beautiful. The food is good for you. A fine time was had by all. * * * The Mueller food court is right in front of that huge concrete semi-circular arch that is supposed to provide cover for outdoor athletic activities. When we were there medieval warriors were using it to practice their sword play, parrying and bashing. Armor is recommended when you are playing with swords and cudgels. The battlers involved were fully equipped. If Renaissance Fair fare is not your thing, in late afternoon, the park at Mueller is gorgeous. Lots of people are walk or exercise by the lake. If you are young and single, Well, wouldn't you know it, many of the walkers and exercisers are young and single too! If lake viewing or fantasizing is not your thing, you can sit over by Airport Boulevard. This is one of the nicer parts of Airport Boulevard. Warmly glowing parkland on either side on either side of the street vastly improve the quality of the view. Given its location, Conscious Craving can be a good place to hang out. * * * How is the food? Old school vegetarian - and that is a good thing. a) The smoothies are absolutely positively 1970s vegetarian. They are not made of carob - but they are of the carob generation. Expect low levels of sugar and a sense you are drinking something nutritious. They have their own quaint charm. b) Wraps are tasty. You get a wide choice of tortillas, veggies and soy based stuff to put in them plus the cook puts in all sorts of garnishes. There are sauces available - but the wraps are fine just as they are. c) Rosemary French Fries are decent enough. French Fries are the eternal proof That you can eat as vegan as you like and Still be eating stuff that is not all that good for you. d) The guy who runs the truck is a real charmer. He is too young to be Grateful Dead generation or Cheech and Chong ... but he has a lot of the coolness of those 70s heroes. e) I know what he means when he brags on the truck that his food is "made with love". I always see more meanings in that phrase than I am supposed to ... I have an awful mind. * * * Overall, Conscious Cravings serves decent food. The healthy diet will keep you alive and well to a ripe old age ... Mueller is a wonderful place to spend some time. If any of the medievalists in the back end up hors de combat from a too-well aimed shot with a broadsword or cudgel, Conscious Cravings will be just what they need to nurse themselves back to health. My friend and I were on a walk around Mueller and stumbled across the Conscious Cravings truck. A smoothie sounded so good in the heat, so we ordered the mango smoothie. It was ready in less than five minutes, and then we were on our way! The menu is displayed clearly on the side of the truck, making it nice and easy to make your selection. There is only one person servicing the truck, but he is quick and very friendly. The person after us also ordered the same mango smoothie, so perhaps it is a fan favorite! read more

Easily the best burritos I've had. Have been going to their food trucks since 8 years or so. Consistent, reliable, flavorful, yummy food. Lots of variety with different spice levels and everything's vegan. One of my favorite food trucks. Spicy chickpea burrito with spinach tortilla and chimichuri seitan burrito with cayenne tortilla are our favorites. Spicy chickpea is Indian style channa masala and it's better than channa masala in most Indian restaurants; its Indian spicy, so beware. We also like black bean and pan seared tofu. For any burrito wrap, make sure to add quinoa and rice mix. Otherwise, it might be too light. We have also tried their bowls, mostly when we'd want to eat with fork or spoon. Haven't faced any difficulty in finding parking. Mueller park is also a nice park to hang out with friends and family. Freaking Fantastic! First, The service is perfect. For example, I mentioned - I struggle cooking seitan. He says, It's got to be cooked 'perfectly,' boiled then fried. Too much or too little it's no good. My experience was like that, perfect. Frozen Cucumber lemonade didn't sound good to me, and I went with his recommendation (word of advice always go with the recommendations of the person who makes the food, they freaking know.) It was deliciously sweet sour and cold. Again, perfect. Now for the meal, I'm a vegetarian (8 years) but I'm not experienced with seitan. Of course I went with one of his three recommendations. I love how healthy this food truck is! Normally I feel so limited by the menus at most places because I want to eat a meatless healthier option but here I can choose anything! The Chimichurri Seitan Wrap was pretty good! I liked how crunchy the wrap was, even though I didn't eat it fresh. The combo surprised me, I thought it was be really bland, especially the lettuce and tomato but it had so much flavor and depth. Tried this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! The owner was so kind and very knowledgeable about gluten free. I ended up getting the black bean wrap made into a grain bowl but everything looked delicious. If you don't like spicy food, beware! The black bean wrap only had one spice indicator and it definitely had more than just a little kick to it. Can't imagine how spicy the Spicy Chickpea bowl is!! OMG I just realized today that I had been missing out this amazing food trailer! Muller is so close to my house and I am often there at the lake i.e. Other side of the trailer. Super hungry after work and on my way back home decided to try this place. This was my first visit to the food truck and I really can't remember If I had visited their SOCO location. I was super confused as to what should I pick up.. They are Vegetarians yeippeee !! I can order anything out of the menu !! I finally decided to order Carrot smoothie and spicy chickpea wrap. Everything was so perfect. The wrap was amazingly tasty and spicy.. loved it! All the flavors were balanced and crisp onions lettuce was perfect. The smoothie was refreshing. I could identify all the flavors of it carrot pineapple mango !! The girl was super sweet and answered all my stupid queries. She even gave me a punch card(after 9 entrees you get one FREE) There are decent sitting tables, shared by all food trucks in that area. It so pleasant to sit and enjoy the greenery around. Conscious Cravings is a great option if you want to eat out but want a healthy option. I ordered the blackened tofu wrap and was pleasantly surprised by all the flavors. The menu on the food truck said this wrap would be spicy, but I would say it is spiced but not spicy (coming from someone who does not handle spicy food well). The service was very odd -- I was hardly greeted and when I asked about the menu, I was spoken to condescendingly, so right off the bat, I was getting a bad impression. I ordered the spicy chickpea with spinach tortilla and I actually quite liked all the blended flavors. I also got the quinoa bowl with blackened tofu and the salad itself was good but the tofu was far too salty. I could barely finish the pieces of tofu due to how salty it was. I also swapped out the spicy mayo with chimicurri dressing, which was a good choice! Both proteins were saltier than they needed to be but the overall flavors were decent. I wouldn't go back. The food here is pretty yummy but omg why do they have the black bean wrap listed as having no heat? It's so spicy! It should have 2 or 3 of those little chili pepper icons next to it in the menu. I typically get it with avocado added, which cuts down on the heat factor a bit. The flavor (not counting the heat) is delicious--but I want to beg this restaurant to tweak the recipe to make it mild so it matches the description on the menu. We can always add our own siracha if we customers want it spicier. On another note, their smoothies are delicious. Daughter #2 is a vegetarian and trying hard to make me one, too. So during our recent mother/daughter outing, she suggested one of her favorite vegan spots, Conscious Cravings. I was a little taken aback when she turned into what looked like an empty parking lot, then a deserted, gravelesque road. But in a moment we arrived at a food truck court with strings of little white lights and picnic tables. Conscious Cravings was the only one open just before 8 pm on a Saturday night. (Kudos to them for that.) Only vaguely familiar with vegetarian foods, I chose a dish that had familiar words like Cajun and blackened, but with a little oomph (tofu.) There is a choice of tortillas such as spinach, wheat, Cajun...go big or go home, I thought, and ordered the Cajun. I did, however, first ask the attendant if it was "really spicy." No, she assured me, it just adds a little flavor. Forgetting my own rule to never trust a Texan to accurately gauge how hot food is, I took my first bite with gusto, then frantically scoured the car for a bottle of water. (Note: water doesn't tone down spice, it enhances it. Try milk.) After a few more bites, with my tongue on the verge of bursting into flames, I conceded and wrapped up the rest of my...well...wrap (no pun intended.) Hungry, later, after a few cocktails, I tried again and this time had no problem finishing it off. Apparently alcohol is just as effective as milk in neutralizing spice. While I wouldn't call the attendant friendly, she was cordial and waited on us even though she was just about to close. Much appreciated. I'll certainly give it another shot, just remind myself that I'm a lightweight. Or at the very least, order a raspberry hibiscus iced tea--or better yet, a pina colada smoothie--to wash it down. read more

The key to keeping fries crispy is leaving the bag open to vent the residual steam out of the top of the bag. I'd knock a half-star for this, because it's easily correctable. Driving around to find "you're my butter half wall" and stubbled upon Mueller park and saw all these different food trucks. Once we parked, we noticed that only 2 trucks were open. Most of them closed by 2pm on Sundays and it was way past that time. One of the food trucks caught my eye. I was hoping to find something light and lo and behold Conscious Cravings. HOUSE BLUEBERRY LEMONADE This drink was so refreshing and cooling. The lemonade was not very sweet and tasted so fresh and homemade. I could taste the blueberries and the flavors weren't overwhelming. Definitely a drink to get when it's hot outside. PAN SEARED TOFU- seasoned golden tofu, vegan mayo, sriracha, lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions I'm a huge tofu fan; so when I see a wrap with tofu, bet your money I'm going to get it! The tofu was seasoned, but it was still bland. The tomatoes were the main flavors in the wrap. It added some nice acidity and some sweetness. The rest of the ingredients were simple, but they held the wrap together. Overall, it was very light in flavor and felt healthy. I definitely would come back to try out their other items. I love the feeling of lightness after a meal and it's pet friendly; so bringing your pets out for a walk is always a plus. read more

I would say this food truck is very affordable for the amount that you get. I ordered the spicy chickpea wrap and while really filling and large, it wasn't all that great. I have a decently good spice tolerance but the wrap was so spicy that I couldn't take more than 2 bites at a time. I also thought there was way too much chimichurri sauce in the wrap itself cause some bites I was literally just eating sauce and tortilla. I did like how the tortilla was toasted and the flavor of the chickpeas though. My friends ordered wraps that had seitan in them and they didn't enjoy it at all as it was really really salty- I tried a bite and it tasted like I was eating a block of pure soy sauce. read more

I stopped here last Sunday after visiting the Mueller Farmers' Market. I was in a hurry because my baby was getting antsy. I ended up grabbing the Strawberry smoothie which also had peach and banana in it. The smoothie was good, a little on the thin side, but I did see options and add ins you can order to thicken it. This food truck makes my soul smile. As a vegetarian who moved to Texas, I was worried about not finding good food, but this place is my GO-TO. The food is always filling and very reasonable prices. Located in a food truck park next to Mueller. There are 4 other trucks right next to Conscious Cravings with outdoor seating in the middle. Conscious has a variety of options (wraps, salads, smoothies) with the flexibility to add and adjust according to your liking. I ordered the Seitan bbq wrap and added quinoa. It was BOMB. A bit spicy at points (if you're a baby with spice like me), however, if you're from Texas, you will laugh at this comment. My mom however ordered the Cayenne sandwich, which is indeed spicy if you are not prepared. So beware. It is delicious, but has a true kick. We arrived at 7:45pm and were worried they would not take our order as they were closing at 8, but the girl working was very sweet and prepared our food quickly right before closing. We were very grateful. All other food trucks were closed but Conscious Cravings pushed through on a Saturday night. Much appreciated! Great prices, great food, great service. Some of us didn't finish our food and the rest that had didn't have seitan took turns taking bites out of ours and making faces. After three attempts, I am finally reviewing Conscious Cravings. I do not find this truck to be affordable (as compared to those surrounding it at the Mueller district) but I do enjoy it. The price of a topo chico here, for example, is a dollar more than the other trucks...and at Booty Loco you can get a free topo just by checking in! We're giving this place three stars, but it's a happy three, and we'll be back again. Today was our second time eating here because we've twice managed to head over to the Mueller food trucks from the Thinkery in the mood for tacos only to find Veracruz closed. Conscious Cravings is open, so... Both times here we got the mango smoothie and the baked rosemary fries. The smoothie is nothing special, but gets the job done, and we like the fries but today not much of the rosemary stayed on and was kind of just in a pile at the bottom of the bag. We also got the avocado wrap (spinach) today, and while it tasted fresh, it really needed more of the chimichurri or some other sauce to bring the whole thing together. Service is fine, food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, and there's a cute little kids play area with some slides nearby that our daughter enjoys. So, overall, nothing amazing, but a solid place to grab a healthy bite/snack if you're in the area and hungry. read more

Conscious Cravings serves some delicious wraps, generously portioned salads, crazy good organic blueberry lemonade and fresh juices. They pride themselves in serving modern plant based cuisine that is not fried. They also have GF menu items. I opted for the house salad and was pleasantly surprised with the hardy portion. You can also opt to add protein (read as veggie proteins). The salad has fresh spinach & lettuce topped with creamy avocado, tomatoes, grilled onions, cucumbers and julienne carrots. It was big enough that I could not finish it in one sitting. The organic blueberry lemonade is refreshing and tart. I am also a fan because they serve Topo Chico.
