Loudness is an issue for me and I do not have hearing issues. Our bill with tip came to over $700+. That was the most expensive lunch we've ever spent for our party of 14. Typically we're in the $400-500 range. But it was a special occasion. My husband and son got the 36 hr ribs. My husband really loved them. My son said it was okay. I didn't ask my brother and BIL who also got the same dish. The roasted brussel sprouts were too salty. The deviled eggs were okay, but pricey for 2.5 eggs, which I do pay at Trader Joe's for organic free range pasturized eggs I could've gotten over 2 dozens. No one I could tell was over the moon with the taste of the food and I heard the word "interesting" quite a bit. It's not that it tasted bad, but it didn't really taste good good. You know what I mean? I did bring a special order cake I got at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Gilbert. I asked Culinary Dropout if we could borrow a cake cutter. They didn't have one. Weird. This was a Red Velvet cake and this was absolutely divine. It was moist. The frosting was some sort of yummy cream cheese frosting. The cake was perfectly sized for our party of 14. The cake was the best part of our meal and it didn't come from Culinary Dropout. I would pay this much for a meal at Roy's for lunch for this sized party, but alas, all the Roy's in the valley are closed down. So sad. I'm not saying this place is bad or the food tastes bad. It's okay and pricey. If the food was great or amazing, we don't mind pricey. We have paid over $1K for meals for our big party, and happily do so when the food is equivalent to the price.

According to the bartender, they have ping-pong, pickleball, and a big upstairs outdoor patio with amazing views of Tempe and the surrounding area. Azbel was a great server. I had the bistro steak and fries and the Szechuan lettuce wraps, and both were really good. Portions were generous. During late-night happy hour my total was about $55 for a main entrée, an appetizer, a cocktail, and tip, which felt like a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised that happy hour runs every day Monday through Sunday from 3-6 PM and again from 8 PM to close. I had to ask for an extra shot of cream because drinking so much bourbon & rum on an empty stomach got me a little fuzzy in the head. LOL! Never fear, the wonderful food soaked up the booze, the amount of water I downed helped, AND we walked around the area, as well as visiting the book store next door. Food: caramel roll, caprese omelet, California benedict. 100% delectable. Nothing was left on our plates. We would have licked them off if so many people weren't surrounding us, enjoying their meals. Ha ha! Staff: the ebullient gentleman welcoming us "warned" us about their fresh cinnamon rolls, saying they're large as a head, and though you could eat one alone, you may want to share. We only saw 2 young ladies working (1 server & 1 waitress). Think with small improvements this would be a solid 4 restaurant. I knocked off 1 start for accessibility issues. There was 1 lady in my party that has a walker but luckily she was able to navigate in & out of the building without any major issues. The Parking & bathrooms are a bit of a walk & may be difficult for someone with disabilities. I only saw 1 handicapped parking space. Plus all but the handicapped space in the parking lot is just sand/gravel. There's only 1 door for customers & it's located at the very front of the building (closest to Gilbert Rd). Know that the ramp to get into the building is quite short & steep. Also, the bathrooms are shared by the buildings in the complex & located in a separate building located behind the restaurant. *The ladies bathroom was clean, had a baby changer, & AC. It has a nice sized patio that runs along the front & side of the building with shade, fans, & misters. Too hot for my group on a 100+ degree day in AZ. Think I'd enjoy sitting in that outdoor space when it's cooler.

Starting off, the onions weren't soggy by any means which I love in a good ring, batter wasn't the majority of the ring which is also a great sign, and lastly the crunch was very nice with them coming out fresh. The Fontina burger has a great beef patty that carries its flavor by how clean it tastes alongside the mushrooms that are the other biggest taste factor for this burger. Finally, the baby back ribs were the star for me personally because you can actually taste the pork for its quality. I usually expect a super sweet sauce that bogs me down after with ribs, but these ones left me feeling able to still go on about my day which I love. They aren't shake off the bone tender but I liked the gentle chew they provide. Overall, I recommend Joe's to anyone who cares more about the ingredient sourcing and quality while enjoying a nice family friendly vibe for a lunch/dinner. I'm going to sit in this salty space for a while and right now, and I can't say that I will come back, even if there are other good dishes. Removing a favorite is taboo, regardless if it's "not in season" or management adds new dishes. Yeah, I'm just annoyed by this change.
