I've been here multiple times now and it's always so good. I usually get the steak plate with 2 sides - this time I got mac & cheese and sweet potato fries. The mac & cheese is some of the best I've ever had! I also feel like it's a little healthier than some other spots. We went for lunch around 12:30p so it was pretty busy but they did a really good job at seating us. Usually you take a table number after you order and sit down but since it was so busy, they made sure there was seating available before ordering since the food comes out so quickly. Happy birthday to me - here's some plastic in your strawberry muffin... Food was good, although it seemed like they gave me the smallest piece and the only reason I didn't take a picture was because they gave a decent amount of mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese, and it was cooked medium like I asked. I went to dessert - ate a bite and thought the muffin was tasty so took another bite and felt a crunch and pulled out a small piece of stringy plastic. I looked at the muffin and there was a piece sticking out so I pulled it out and was deterred in eating the muffin. Today is my birthday so it's obnoxious I wasted it here. I noticed the price on the entree meal went up from like 15 to 18, so that's dumb too - not worth it. Why do I come back? Update as of 7/12/26: I recently learned that a favorite dish has been eliminated from their menu -- the Mediterranean Chicken Kabob Bowl. This is beyond disappointing because it was one of my favorite dishes, my go-to. Why would they eliminate a popular dish from their menu, especially when it's a popular one? Ugh. I'm really disappointed by this and I'm not the only one. This is why we can't have nice things because someone decides to make poor changes based on management decisions rather than its customer feedback. I'm going to sit in this salty space for a while and right now, and I can't say that I will come back, even if there are other good dishes. Wow! This is one of my favorite entrees I've had here! The "Forbidden rice" bowl at $11.95 delivered in flavor and in quantity! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I would gladly order this bowl again! A colorful mix of seasoned snap pea, bok choy, broccoli, carrot, onion, toasted sesame, red chili hoisin on a mix of black pearl and red japonica rice. I'm drawn to the combination of vegetables especially on the red Japonica rice. This nutty flavored, pale pink, medium grain rice (also know as Bhutanese Red Rice) has a slight chewy texture which I love. This dish tasted fresh was perfectly cooked and served hot at our table. Service was good and we timed it right by arriving at 11:40 before the lunch crowd came and filled all the seats. To end the meal we each purchased their chocolate chip cashew cookie. This was not the first time I have been to Flower Child. It's one of those places that I'll go if somebody else wants to, but I'll never choose it myself. I do have some weird food issues. I will say this place is so bright and airy and just lovely. I love the paned windows that look out onto the patio, the very high ceilings, and the brown rattan lighting fixtures. Even though the space is quite large, it's extremely inviting. That said, it's a great place for something healthy. I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the choices if you're trying to eat well. My friends lunch looked much better than what I had. I had the Flying Avocado Wrap, and I didn't love it. In fact I didn't finish even half of it - - I took it home and my son ate it. I think it's the bread I don't like, and anyone who knows me knows I can be really picky. Will I come back? Probably. When I have lunch with somebody else who wants to come here, I won't have a problem with it. I would really like to try the forbidden Rice that my friend had. Very tasty and if anyone were to ask me for my lunch recommendation, I would suggest this salad! Plus, it's HEALTHY for you! Even when I ordered it, I was told that it's a very good item! I got mango iced tea to drink and wow was it good and refreshing! Another recommendation I would give! This restaurant is very nice and they offer seasonal items for desserts and baked goods. It was lunch time and an add for a BBQ Bulgogi Salad from Flower Child popped up on my feed. I have never been to this place but it's a mile from my house so I decided to go with my daughters because the salad looked delicious. Apparently, they have a system where, during the lunch rush, they have ONE cashier and you order your food up front. They gave you a number, and they bring you your food. I ordered a wrap and some noodles for my daughters and then the item I specifically came here for- the Bulgogi salad. The young girl upfront said that it's not being offered until tomorrow because tomorrow would be the "launch day" for that item. I asked if she was sure and if she could check with a manager. A manger came up and l showed her the salad ad that I screenshot. The manager, if she even was one, looked at it and said, "Actually, that doesn't even exist." I wasn't even sure what she meant by that so I explained the only reason we were here was because I wanted to try the salad that was being advertised. She said that she wasn't sure why I was showing her an old ad. I showed her I screenshot the pic of the salad and hour ago and showed her the timestamp. Then she said in a dismissive manner, "I have no idea why you're getting that. Is it AI?" What a ridiculous question. The whole interaction was upsetting because this manager made it so.
