Definitely my worst experience at a FRC establishment. We ordered takeout and my wife's wrap was fine but my steak was anything but. I ordered the steak, sweet potato fries, and Mac and cheese. The steak was partly lean and partly fatty, the portion size was very very small too compared to my past experiences at flower child. The sweet potato fries were cold/lukewarm and mushy. Barely cooked I think. The mac & cheese was the only thing that was fine. I called and spoke to a manager, and she refunded the sweet potato fries, but did nothing about the steak, even after agreeing that the picture I sent her showed that it was fatty and did not live up to their expectations. Such a cute dietary restriction place! The entire ambiance of this location is stunning. They offer complimentary lemon/grapefruit water, service is exceptionally fast (even with a line out the door at lunchtime [you KNOW a place is good when the line is out the door!], the seating is comfortable, and the food is OUTSTANDING! We dined on the outdoor patio for lunch. We enjoyed the Italian Turkey Salami salad and the Green Chili Queso. Both were packed full of flavor w/generous portion sizes! Honestly, for lunch, my husband and I could have shared a salad they're that large. The queso platter could have had more chips as the majority of the queso went to waste as the queso to chip ration was not equally paired. We were visiting from out of state for our wedding anniversary so I'm glad to have found and experienced a gluten-free friendly option. The experience was incredibly enjoyable! This is our go to restaurant when we want a healthy hearty meal. There meats, sauces, vegetables, and flavor combinations are delicious. They have freshly made teas and lemonades with unique flavorings. They offer dairy free, gluten free, and vegetarian options. My daughter who has a severe shellfish allergy can eat there safely even though they serve shrimp. Always leave there feeling great and full in the best way. The service is always quick and very friendly. This place is great for large groups and family friendly. Love lunch or dinner here, they have an app and easy to go options for grab and gos. I love coming here to enjoy health conscious meals with like minded friends in a super cute environment with vibrant colors and decor, hipster vibe. Their menu is amazing and includes many vegan options as well. So everyone can enjoy something based on their personal lifestyle but one thing everyone will have in common is the clean ingredients regardless of dietary preferences. I semi-customized my smaller bowl (my choice) with sweet potato, quinoa and corn and chicken due to my own macro preferences but friends had avocado toast with an egg on it and looked amazing as well. Another had a beautiful salad! All in all, we were pretty satisfied with our choices. I also had their green tea and I thought it was a perfect addition to my meal, super refreshing. The service was lovely as well. The lady in the counter let me know I could customize my meal if I preferred when I mentioned the items I didn't want hence why I was undecided. She was super helpful. It was raining when we came so we sat inside and appreciated the boho lighting, vibrant colors, decor, in their hip chic atmosphere but on another occasion I have sat outside (the patio) and it was an equally great experience. I have been to this location many times (before covid and after), I am surprised that I have not written a review before. The ordering line was out of the door but surprisingly it move very quickly and they opened up another station (to-go area) to take orders too. I love their simple hummus, but today I felt like something more. I got the pick a protein + 2 sides: chicken with double mac and cheese. I got a green ice tea too. Thank goodness our group (6), the other 3 got there before us and got a table already. Sometimes it can be hard to get a table when they are super busy. Every single Flower Child we've been to has been marvelous. It's so good to have a place that isn't truly fast-casual, but isn't as slow as a full-fledged sit-down restaurant. We like the main dish platters here: the chicken and steak are nicely seasoned, but the stars of this show are the veggie sides! Every single side is utterly delicious. Their maple syrup sweet potato, the cauliflower "risotto," the mashed potatoes, all of it totally mouth watering. I highly recommend their Asian salad too - the dressing is wonderful. Everything was wonderful. From the service to the food, I highly recommend Flower Child. We (family of 5) stopped in to celebrate my daughter's 14th birthday. She's vegetarian and finding a restaurant to accommodate all of us can be tough, but we were pleasantly surprised. The manager came by while we were waiting for our food and apologize for the wait, but we didn't think we had been waiting that long. He was really kind about it. Gluten free eater. I've been to a few of these restaurants and never left a review. The restaurant was busy but the wait staff was quick to "seat" people and bring out foos. I never felt rushed. It was busy but I didn't think it was too noisy or crowds (even though it was) I'm excited to report they label all their meals on what is gluten free. It's nice not having to guess what I can eat or not. They do offer ciders for those looking for an alcoholic gf beverage. I like dry ciders and the Austin dry cider is good but I could go drier. It's a good balanced cider. I ordered the forbidden rice with chicken. Any protein would have been good. This was a an amazing dish. It was TERRIBLy flavorful. Everything went so well together. My husband got the goddess bowl with no protein and he was just as filled as I was. The tea was good. We mixed Arnold Palmer for the drive home. Note to the management: Plant-based eaters eat a higher volume (not necessarily weight) of food to keep satiated. Recently I noticed a HUGE difference in the amount (volume) of food for a higher price. The first time I thought it was a fluke but last two times confirmed it. We left still hungry those three times. It was so disappointing to spend too much money in the first place only to still leave hungry. Flower Child is one of my absolute favorite fast casual restaurants! Not only is the vibe right, but so is the food! They have something for everyone- vegan, vegetarians, meat eaters, picky eaters, etc. I've been to a few other FC locations before moving to Gilbert. I've now been to this location 2-3x and the new Chandler location once. Parking is easy and plentiful. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. I love the variety on the menu and although I want to try everything, I seem to always gravitate towards the glow bowl with salmon. It comes with spicy sweet potato noodle, bok choy, zucchini, onion, jalapeño, shiitake mushroom, coconut milk, and sunflower butter. All my favorites in one delicious bowl! Full of flavor and different textures. I can't help but order this every time. I occasionally get one of their unique and refreshing teas. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Some of the best food I ever had the opportunity to taste. The salmon was cooked perfectly. It was not over or under cooked. It wasn't dry or raw. I thought it was seasoned perfectly. The avocado wasn't the freshest I have seen, but it wasn't bad. I love avocado. The avocado flavor was fine and didn't seem unripe or over ripe. The way it looked was just a bit off. The red chili glazed sweet potato hash was delicious and cooked well. I liked the flavor of the arugula. I thoroughly enjoyed it and want to go back soon! I liked how fresh everything tasted. This was our first visit to any Flower Child location, I have a feeling it might become a go-to for us. We are not usually fans of ordering at the counter, but this place was so busy that it really was the most efficient way of keeping things moving. We couldn't find a clean table big enough for our party of seven, but one of the staff was on the spot and cleaned one up quickly for us. Personally, I think that the protein is not worth it as much especially for the entrees. It's good, but the protein is not worth the price. The salads are really good and they have alternative dressing like lemon avocado dressing (my fav). They have seasonal items. The sides changes sometimes depending on the season. My favorite sides are the sweet corn and quinoa, Yuzu Brussels sprouts, red chili glazed sweet potato, bbq heirloom carrots, or butternut squash risotto. We came here Friday night as a party of 4 adults. The wait wasn't bad and we were seated promptly after ordering. I got the ginger miso crunch salad that features carrot zoodles first, so I assumed it would be most prevalent in the dish. I also requested tofu to be added. The tofu was tasty but very sparse. The carrot zoodles, also sparse. Don't let the photo fool you, tofu was sliced THINGS. I immediately bloated and regretted not getting the dressing on the side. It made this dish too salty and heavy. The chocolate pudding for dessert was tasty! We also got a glass of rose petal lemonade but didn't taste any rose. Overall good but needs some tweaks to be perfect. read more
