Recently, I started a therapy in this plaza and noticed this location. I fancied a gyro, so I figured I would stop in. Typical chain type Greek restaurant, so nothing too fancy but clean interior is inviting. What I Ordered: - Beef/Lamb gyro: Love they put French fries in the actual gyro! It had great flavor, and was so big! I only ate half then brought the left overs to a friend. Part of me wishes they had a smaller version. - Fountain Drink: Typical fountain selections and the soda had a good mix of flavor and carbonation. Appreciate the offering of a box when the staff member saw I folded up the remaining in the paper. Easy large enough you could split with someone! I'd definitely return, but likely with someone so we could split to avoid any food waste. read more

Today I visited Nick the Greek for lunch for the first time. I was excited to try the food, and while the restaurant was very clean and the staff provided friendly service, I was disappointed by the portion size for the price. The food was good, but the overall value of the meal didn't meet my expectations. The cleanliness and customer service were definitely positives, but I expected a more substantial portion considering the cost. I may give it another try in the future, but the pricing would make me hesitate to return regularly. Nick The Greek, thanks for the eats! I got the Souvlaki plate with chicken. The chicken was super tender and flavorful. The pita bread was chewy and warm. The salad was crispy with every bite. This is probably one of my favorite Greek plates I've had in a while. After signing up with the restaurant app, I tried to redeem a free dessert with some welcome points however it would not go through. The cashier wasn't able to validate it either without a redeem option which was a bummer. Over all, the food was great. Plenty of clean tables. I'd come back to try the steak! read more

I had the beef/pork gyro as well as the Nick's Fries with pork. It is a solid and flavorful gyro; however, I do think there are restaurants with more unique toppings and better sauces. The fries were loaded up and very good. I particularly liked the orange sauce they put on it. read more

Came for dinner on a Monday at 630PM, it wasn't busy. There's plenty of seating inside, tables can be pushed together to accommodate small groups. There's ample parking out front in this shopping center. My gyro bowl was delicious! There was a generous amount of lamb/beef and the rice was tasty. It was all quite filling! I thought that I found another happy place eating here last time, but this time, I've had a change of heart. I ordered the gyros platter which comes with all of the fixings to build your own pita bread bites but this time what they provided me looked more like a kids meal. Very disappointed! The place is nice and big and is a great place to sit inside to eat, however the portions were a miss!!! Was over in this area the other day doing some shopping. There are a few places tucked in, in the back corner of the complex to choose from. Originally, I had planned something different, but the price range was a little to steep, so I walked on down to see what else might be an option. I noticed this Greek Restaurant and that sounded more to my liking. It was shortly after 2:30 PM & I was the only customer inside. After browsing their menu decided on their Greek Burger. Fries are an additional fee; yet wanted to add this and a drink to make it a combo. As I waited to eat in: Noticed the manger (possibly owner) doing paperwork at one of the tables, also took note of how clean and well stocked the eatery was. My meal arrived in a decent timeframe, server brought it out to me. Presentation was great. It tasted just as it looked. Toppings were fresh and the flavor of the patty was spot on. ALL those savory spices & earthly flavors blended so well together. I was extremely pleased with the outcome. Would say though- the fries could have been a little crispier but, they were good & really liked that they were not overly salted. Recommend checking out this spot if you haven't and SUPPORT a terrific local business that is newer to the area with excellent food & an authentic quality experience! Tried this spot out for a quick lunch after hearing good things about it from family members. I usually get a platter, but heard the gyros were good, so I tried the Chicken Souvlaki Pita and it was great! The pita was super soft and fluffy, chicken was tender (although I do wish there was a bit more of it), and I thought it was unique that there were fries in the gyro! My husband got the Gyro Plate with Pork Belly. We've never seen pork belly as an option at a Greek place so we were curious. But it wasn't as good as we hoped. Seemed a bit tough and overcooked. So if we come back, we'll try a different meat option instead. But overall, this place is very clean and the gyros/pita are tasty! read more

Had a good experience while we were looking for a balanced, healthier option for lunch. Similar to most Mediterranean places, the menus are very similar when it comes to the proteins and salads of choice. I stuck with my norm, Gyro pita wrap, no onions, add lettuce with fries & a drink. I thought the pita was soft good & the gyro meat was tender. I got the Greek fries to change it up... they were okay. In addition, we got a Greek Salad with a side of chicken. It was a really big salad bowl, but it felt a bit lacking with flavor. Ended up only eating half and packaged the rest for later. It was still good later that evening. The place is kept clean, and that's a bonus as I felt the staff did a great job cleaning up. read more

I love Mediterranean food. There's some great spots near my work and a great spot near my church, but no options near my house...until now when Nick the Greek opened up on the corner of Gilbert and Germann (far N side of the shopping center on the NE corner). I was impressed when walking in- spacious, well-lit, bright menu board. Definitely a nice location except there's no real patio seating available. I told the lady at the counter it was my first time at Nick the Greek and she asked 'this location or any location?'. Darn...didn't realize it was a chain but too early to judge...could still be amazing! Being lunch time and I don't typically have large portions at lunch, I opted for the staple meal- Beef/Lamb Gyro and I made it into a combo which adds a side and drink. For my side, I tried the Greek Fries (includes garlic, feta, scallions and dill). The total was over $18. That's more than I like to spend for lunch but if it was delicious I won't think twice about the amount. Almost as soon as I filled up my drink cup (Pepsi fountain and Tractor drinks...neither of which I particularly enjoy) the food came out. That was quick! I tried the fries first...lots of feta and not too much else on them. The fries were limp and rubbery. The feta on them was quite tasteless as well. Very disappointing. I then tried the Gyro. Not too bad...the beef/lamb was sliced thin and tasted like most rotisserie gyro meat. The tzatziki was light and not very flavorful. They were also quite stingy on the onions and tomatoes. The pita itself was soft and good. Overall the meal for the price was mediocre. There's many other Greek/Mediterranean places within a 15min drive that have much better offerings at equivalent or better prices. I may be back in the future and will opt for hummus or basmati rice as my side instead of the fries. read more

Rob the super friendly PR person gave me the run down on their newest franchise opening in Phoenix. Nick the Greek is a casual restaurant from California and their Phoenix location has been open since 2022. The order and dining area is open and welcoming. It looks like it can hold approx 50 patrons. The combo I had was good. There was a generous portion of the meat in my gyro. Their puta bread was pillowy soft!! I found my side of Greek salad light on the dressing-but I seem to find all the Greek Salads in AZ light on their dressing. I will shall return! read more

I've tried delivery from the Nick The Greek in DTPHX and I had the chance to dine in at their new Gilbert location. The food and the service didn't dissapoint. IMO- Nick's offers some of the best gyros and Greek food in Arizona. Expect laid back vibes, friendly counter service and plenty of delicious options. I got the Chicken Souvlaki pita and Nick's Fries (loaded Greek fries) and it was a 10/10. I love that they offer traditional dessert such as baklava and Greek sodas here as well. The real deal! Tried Nick the Greek for the first time and I'm seriously impressed! I ordered the chicken souvlaki plate with rice and Greek salad, plus a kid's chicken souvlaki, all through the Yelp app. Ordering was super easy and the service was fast--my food was ready right on time. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the salad was crisp, and the rice had great flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Food was delish!!!! Usually basmati rice is plain, this rice was full of flavor. The gyro meat, Greek salad, pita bread, and tzatziki was all great!!! We ordered the gyro plate and souvlaki plate - at first it seemed overpriced until we got our orders. These include a LOT of food, well worth the price. I will say the chicken kabob was on the drier side, unfortunately just the nature of chicken. Would recommend dipping the chicken in a hot sauce or tzatziki. Store itself was very clean and modern! The baklava froyo was amazing. It actually tasted like Greek yogurt, plenty of baklava added, and delicious honey. The gyro was good, nothing too crazy but definitely a good portion of meat. So, I was really looking forward to trying this new Mediterranean place - I've been wanting one nearby for ages! Unfortunately, it wasn't quite the amazing experience I'd hoped for. I ordered a Mediterranean salad with gyro meat, and they completely forgot the dressing! That was a bit of a bummer. Also, the gyro meat... well, it was a bit of a mixed bag as half of it was thinly shaved as it should be, but the other half was in chunks, which wasn't great, and it tasted a little like it had been microwaved instead of being fresh. A bit disappointing overall, but maybe I'll give them another try sometime and see if they've improved! The lamb gyro was good, I got it without fries inside. The Greek fries were served cold and limp, none of the Greek lemon sauce was present. The dressing on the side salad had no flavor. Pepsi products in the soda machine. $4.50 for a triangle of baklava. The price point on everything was too high for the quality, in my opinion. I also dislike like being asked to tip upon ordering at a counter. The lady at the register was lovely. No full booths, 3 half booths. We were optimistic going into Nick The Greek for takeout, but unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. We ordered a beef and lamb gyro, a gyro bowl, fries, and a Diet Pepsi. The portion sizes were disappointing -- especially the $12.50 gyro, which didn't have enough meat and felt small for the price. The gyro bowl was nothing special, with more rice than meat, and the Diet Pepsi tasted off, like it was missing syrup. The only positive was the fresh-cut fries. Essentially shopping mall food court fast food. Ordered the Beef/Lamb Gyro and the Falafel Gyro. The Falafel Gyro was actually fair. While the falafel balls were not crisp on the outside, they were moist on the inside with decent flavor. Importantly, they balanced it well with veggies and tahini sauce in the pita. The Beef/Lamb Gyro was a disaster. If the meat was any more dried out, you could have called it jerky! And there was NOTHING else in the pita! ARBY's Classic Greek Gyro is much better than this at less than half the price!! Counterperson was a very polite young man and they had a clean restroom, but i seriously doubt I'll be back. read more
