Chopped salad with shrimp.
Rashmi G.

We've been to Source a couple of times and found our experiences to be quite mediocre, given the price point. I'd classify them as a casual lunch restaurant, although they are open for dinner as well. The menu is pretty small, which is okay; it consists of salad/bowl options, pizzas, and sandwiches. I've had a couple of their salads and while the ingredients were fresh, they were lacking flavor. The chopped salad needed more dressing, and in adding shrimp (for an extra $9), I was surprised to see only 3 pieces. The farrow bowl was a bit better with additional ingredients. Maybe their pizzas and sandwiches are more filling / fulfilling. Overall though, I'm not sure when and if we'll be back given the many other restaurant options that have come up around the same area.

Chopped Salad

I've been wanting to try Source since they opened but had a hard time finding something on the menu that is gluten and dairy free. Decided to try the albacore sandwich and chop salad understanding that this meal would not be gluten-free. The homemade bread was not as exciting as I hoped it would be. The bread on the sandwich held its structure and kept the sandwich in one piece which was great. The tuna tasted a little bit vinegary and was a little spicy! (Spice is in the description). I guess I prefer classic creamy tuna? The chop salad had a very generous toppings and was a good portion size but the dressing tasted kind of oniony for my preference. The most enjoyable part of my dining experience at Source was the conversation with Hugo about the olive oil on the shelves in the hallway. I had received this exact bottle of olive oil as a gift from someone in the restaurant industry and I found out that the two are connected! Small world!

Farro bowl with tuna

With all of my trips to Gilbert lately, I can't believe I didn't make it to Source sooner... Now that I've been, I'll definitely be back soon and often! I stopped by solo on a Wednesday evening and enjoyed the Farro bowl with tuna. I debated ordering more but this was pretty filling. In the future, I will definitely make sure to order some of their fresh bread and try some other menu items too. As others have shared, this is a casual spot where you order at the counter and then your food is delivered to your table. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and it's comfortable for folks like me dining solo as well as for a date or night out with friends. Food is fresh, and carefully sourced from farmers and artisans and you know that with Chef / Owner Claudio leading the charge, that it's going to be the best of the best in terms of quality! They also serve wine and offer a limited retail shop, from which I will definitely peruse on my next visit.

Hummus platter Tuna sandwich

Oh my heavens!!! Absolutely delicious! Everything at Source tastes so fresh and full of flavor. You can tell they only use the best local ingredients. We shared the tuna sandwich, and the hummus platter and both were perfection. The tuna is caught and canned fresh out of Seattle, and you can truly taste the difference. Everything is made to order with care. A special shoutout to Jonathon, who was so knowledgeable and such a pleasure to talk to. You can feel the passion for good food and quality ingredients in every bite. We will definitely be back!

First time here, had a ham and cheese sandwich, excellent!!! Small area, which is an absolute plus for me. Smaller places have better service and generally, better quality of food.

Chopped salad with tinned tuna addition accompanied by house made sourdough

What a nice surprise. Located across street from Joe's farm restaurant in Agritopia and pretty much around corner from Buck and Rider, billed as a casual "Mediterranean cuisine" spot. You walk in open concept, order and take a seat outside with a number. Order is quickly delivered by attentive staff. I tried the meatball appetizer and the chopped salad with tinned tuna addition. Paired off with an excellent dry cider. Everything was fresh and very tasty without a lot of heavy dressing on the salad!! I like that. My party also tried a pizza and the red lentil cake sandwich and everyone was gobsmacked how good it all was. The sandwich eatre said "the best I've eevr had!! Plenty of parking in lot just in front. Looks like menu changes frequently ... I like that, you can go back often and try something completely different. Outside patio is covered and thoughtfully appointed with both heaters and misters. No problem sitting out here, and its dog friendly.

Their sloppy apple tarts

Tbh I never thought I would ever make a review on this place. What was once a good restaurant is now what I think is a terrible place to eat. It seems like the owner is constantly changing all of their food. The food used to taste great but has since become a bland mess. Source used to have fine breads and from what I've tasted.. it now tastes like pizza dough. I used to like their apple tarts until I received this tart (photo attached) Not to mention the prices have changed on top of that. The owner is a jerk and it seems like the workers are miserable there. It's like they lost all their happiness.. The past two times I've gone in he's had almost a whole new set of workers there as well . He has no care for his customers due to comments he has said in front of myself and others.. He seems to care more about himself than anyone else. I genuinely think people should stay away from sources and find a better place to go to. I recommend anywhere but here

Located in the epicenter next to peixoto. There is a spacious parking lot in front. Contrary to someone's review, I didn't have issues finding the front door and the layout. We entered through the door on the right. I wouldn't say it's a huge place with some seating inside but more seating outside on the patio. I've been here twice already, greeted warmly and answered any questions I had. My 6 year old and I love their chopped salad and we are not big salad eaters so that says a lot! Lols It has a good mix of ingredients I like and keeps me full. The first time I had the salad there was fregula in it, which we loved. But oddly the second time we ordered it, it wasn't part of the salad anymore. I also had some of my friend's falafel sandwich and that was delicious too. Everything just tasted fresh. I will def be back to try other items on their menu.

I tried Source in January shortly after they opened, but before their grand opening. I just couldn't wait! To my pleasant surprise, their team and their process were on point especially for being so new. Source is an ingredient driven, community centered, counter service restaurant, wine bar, and retail shop located in The Epicenter at Agritopia. They are in a prime spot. Plenty of parking, too. The space is warm and modern. I love how bright and open it is. My friend and I came for lunch and were greeted right away. The team member behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. We decided on the following: Hummus Side of bread Chirashi bowl x2 The hummus was very fresh and paired well with their toasted fresh bread. At the time of our visit, Source offered a "Chirashi bowl" on the menu. It came with Koshihikari rice bowl with roasted vegetables, pumpkin seeds, ginger pickled cucumber, nori and togarashi with an option to add seared wild Sea of Cortez shrimp or wild smoked salmon. I added shrimp to mine and my friend decided to go meatless. It was incredi-bowl! Lots of textures and flavors. Very filling. I will be back soon!

Nice outdoor seating.

This place was a pleasure to visit and dine. We are not wine drinkers so we can only review the food. The Farro bowl with shrimp was healthy, fresh, and delicious. My husband tried the sandwich on the baguette. He loved the flavors with a slight spicy kick, but the bread was too crusty for him. He had to deconstruct the sandwich and mostly eat the inside. The roof of his mouth is sensitive. I loved it. I think the gal who took her order was named Rachel. She was absolutely delightful! When she learned that it was our first visit, she brought us out a couple slices of bread to try the fresh baked bread: sourdough and ciabatta. The sourdough was nice, but did not have a lot of sourdough taste to it. The ciabatta bread was amazing! We walked out with a loaf of that. My husband told Rachel that he loved the sandwich, but the bread was too crusty for him. She said next time, ask for it to be in the ciabatta. He will.

I love that they change their menu daily, it's handwritten and the details are posted on their Instagram page if you want to take a look before you arrive. Everything is made fresh to order! The day we had gone in, they had a few sandwich and pasta options available to choose from. My husband got the spicy Italian sausage ziti pasta dish and I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. It's a pretty small place with a few tables & some bar type seating. It gets pretty busy around lunch time, so plan accordingly. We'll be back again to try other items!

When I walked in, there was one employee working the register. I waited patiently while he helped another customer, but when I tried to get his attention afterward, he raised his finger at me in a dismissive way and told me to wait. Instead of helping me with what should have been a quick mobile pickup, he proceeded to take multiple new walk-in orders from a group that had just come up to the counter, without acknowledging me at all. After waiting even longer, I finally asked if I could just be helped. I was told "they were here first," even after I explained I had a mobile order that should have already been ready. At that point, the interaction escalated out of frustration. Once I gave my name, my order was handed to me quickly, which only reinforced that this could have been resolved in seconds with basic awareness and customer service. To make matters worse, when we got home, the sandwiches were made with barely any sauce--even though we paid extra for it. The lack of sauce made the meal dry and disappointing, to the point where we didn't really enjoy dinner. To be fair, the ingredients themselves did seem fresh, and there is potential here from a food quality standpoint. However, that doesn't outweigh the overall experience. Between the poor handling of a simple mobile pickup and the failure to execute the order correctly, this visit fell well below expectations. This felt less like a one-off mistake and more like a breakdown in both service and attention to detail. I would strongly recommend improvements in how mobile orders are prioritized and how customers are acknowledged when they walk in.

My husband had the spicy BLT, and it was just as impressive in both quality and size. Each sandwich comes with a bag of Ruffles and a pickle, which is a nice touch. The NY Yankee is a 20.00 Sandwich and they made it on marble rye that was stale and hard. It was impossible for them to not know that the bread was stale and hard. The order was at 10:15 AM so it was not a situation where it sat out long enough in the day to get hard. This had to be yesterdays stale bread. I have to ask who does this? Do they think the customer is going to find this acceptable? Paper on the cheese and stale bread on a 20.00 sandwich. There is genuinely no excuse for this and who ever prepared this food needs to be either reprimanded or terminated. You have one job and that is to make a quality product. If things like this are happening it makes me wonder what other corners are cut and if there is actually any manager overseeing quality and safe practices! I would give zero stars if that was an option.
