Source is by far one of the best spots in town -- the absolute best if you're looking for unapologetic European/Mediterranean fare. Post-pandemic, food and service quality have decreased so much in the valley that we now only have half a dozen places to go that are worth the drive and spend. This is one of them. The food is so fresh and flavorful (including the specials when you're fortunate enough to visit on those days), staff is wonderfully accommodating, and the location and ambiance are fantastic. It's hard to trust any meat products or even any produce, organic or not. Well, at Source, you don't have to worry about it. Everything you put in your body here is top quality. Claudio researches every single supplier he buys from. Who else does this? The hummus at happy hour for $6 is a steal. You can't even get a frickin Quarter Pounder w Cheese for $6 anymore. But this amazing dish is only $6 and you'll be full. Seriously? If you don't like hummus generally, it's probably from Tahini. This version doesn't have any. You'll love it and the flatbread is amazing out of the oven. Even at its regular $9 or whatever it's a steal. The salads are first rate, the Romaine and the Chopped. The Farro Bowl is amazing and so unique. So healthy. The red lentil sandwich is unique, healthy, and delicious. The pizzas are outstanding. My god the sausage one or the mushroom ham. Come on, Arizona. Stop eating like shit. Go to Source, feel good about what you're eating, enjoy how delicious it is, and pay very low prices for it all. My friend Doug is a pizza snob so he picked this spot and wowza!! Fantastic!! We shared the Cobb salad and the Salami pizza. It was so delicious I forgot to take a photo....just enjoyed every bite! The service is friendly and gave us the suggestion of the salad and pizza....great suggestion!! The vibe is bright, youthful and fun! We sat at a bar and looked out at the beautiful day, enjoying conversation and friendship. A good pizza is all about the crust and theirs was some of the best I have had in a long time. One can Usually leave the crust after you eat the "pizza" part (you know..the good stuff) but not here....there was nothing left! I went here for lunch with friends. I was kind of taken aback when we walked in. It is modest, small inside and spare and it is counter service. There is patio seating outside. No worries. The young man behind the counter was friendly and welcoming and put us right to ease. I ordered the red lentil croquette sandwich ( wow !! So delicious. I'll be back for that. ) It was perfectly cooked and the flatbread it comes on is over the top delicious . It's a big sandwich and I took 1/2 home. It also came with some lovely fresh mixed spring greens. My friends ordered the farro salad and pizzas. They also purchased bread to take home. The baker here knows his way around dough. The breads and pizzas were amazing with exactly the kind of old world wood fired texture that is often offered but too often not exactly right. This is exactly right and the quality of the ingredients is excellent and balanced. Two of us ordered pizza to go when we left. Divinely decorated with an open and modern ambience, Source is a wonderful addition to Agrotopia as it harbors an abundance of outdoor seating to soak in some Arizona sunshine and showcases a mediterranean menu to wow your tastebuds. The staff gave us insight on what to order and guided us through our options. The hummus was phenomenal, I really enjoyed the pickled vegetables and the bread tasted freshly made. The bowls were great as well, mine was savory and flavorful. All the ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. If you need to load up on delicious carbs for a marathon... whether that be a running marathon, TV marathon, or in my case, homework marathon, this is the place to go. It's very modern and nice. You order your food with the nice person/people at the front. Tonight, it was a very polite young lady who was nothing but kind. I ordered lots of food for myself, my son, and my daughter. My daughter got a cheese pizza, which is also known as their House pizza, but she got it without the olive oil and oregano on the top. It was her little loss because I got the same thing with everything, and it was delicious. As she is my "copy and paste," she ate her whole decently sized personal pizza without so much as any little complaint. My son got the spices sausage pizza , and he was a little disappointed that it wasn't actually spicy, but he had no complaints about the flavor itself. As he is a growing teenager, he needed more food, so he got more. I also ordered the bread with olive oil, which I liked. My son said the olive oil tasted like a leaf, but I said it tasted expensive. Hahaha. It's all about perspective, which, regardless, I thought once you find the right proportion of bread to olive oil, it was bliss. Top it off, I got their very last apple tart, which was light and cinnamon-y. If the flavor and sweetness were kids, they'd balance perfectly on a teeter totter. Not too long after opening a friend video recorded a local news station's review of Source. The first time I attempted to visit Source, I was unable to locate due to the shop's sign not yet being hung. Some week's later whilst my mom was in town we made the trip to Source and were well pleased by smiling staff, lovely lunch and the best bread I've yet eaten in Arizona. Admittedly, I've only recently purchased my Arizona Winter retreat and so there may well be other bakeries that thrill my taste buds. I ordered cotto ham and mozzarella on their delicious baguette. Mom ordered albacore tuna, romaine, sliced tomato, tapenade on ciabatta. How delicious! Did I mention the bread? We bought a sourdough loaf and a couple baguette to gift to the friend who introduced me to Source. Lunch or bread, Source is the source for culinary happiness. read more

This place just opened in the ever-expanding Epicenter at Agritopia. Source is the perfect spot for delicious food you can feel good about eating. I started with their lentil soup which was out of this world delicious. I literally almost licked my bowl clean. I also started with their hummus and za'atar flatbread. Since I'm gluten free, I made them aware and they were able to bring me a side of veggies to go with the hummus. Super delicious. Due to my allergies, I stuck with their mixed salad and added some wild sockeye salmon. My salad had a perfect blend of greens, beets, and grapefruit. I opted out of the croutons. They have a massive and beautiful patio out front which is perfect with this wonderful weather. Service was quick, and executed very well. I was really excited to try this place since I worked for a Mediterranean restaurant for years and have missed good Med food. However, it was quite a letdown. There's not much indoor seating, the restaurant layout is super awkward, and the food was overpriced and just okay. $15 for a pizza that we thought we could split but the pizza was pretty minimal in size and flavor. We asked for plates and got plates half the size of a pizza slice. The best part of my meal was the ginger beer, but they don't make that in house. The menu was pretty small and was definitely more Italian than Mediterranean or Greek. I don't think we'd come back. read more

New local spot and didn't disappoint! I got my order to-go (which was quick btw) but the vibe inside the place feels definitely like "Hey meet me for some tapas and enjoy a wine" type of ambiance. It was crazy windy the day I went and I didn't want to sit with the breeze coming in a bit. I took the recommendation of hummus starter as well as the salami sandwich. Yum on both! The staff was helpful explaining the options on the menu for me and their favorites. I actually waited in my car and she offered to walk it out even (I came back in). Food was really good and hit the spot. The bread with the hummus was perfect for me. Loved it. If I had one feedback it's the baguette for the sandwich. Don't get me wrong it was fresh and exactly as the menu described. I just think a crusty baguette is hard for a mouth-bite sandwich. I would have preferred a less crusty bread offering. The pizzas looked really good and I will be back to try them. Check the times as a different schedule than you might expect (closed on Tuesday is of this writing). It is a walk up and order from the menu type of place, their amazing food is served on paper plates. There is not a lot of indoor seating so just beware. We found this place from an app called Seedoilscout that shows restaurants that do not use seed oils. My best friend and I ordered the House pizza and added mushrooms. The pizza was honestly delish, fresh ingredients, it was an absolute treat! We wanted parmigiana cheese to sprinkle over, that was additional cost due to the high end blends of cheeses that are in it. We decided to go for it and wow was it worth the extra money! We then ordered the chopped salad! It was off the charts good, it was sweet, nutty and then the touch of ham so subtle but the perfect touch. They then add a few slices of their homemade bread drizzled with a bit of olive oil for another perfect touch. We topped off our dinner with the apple tart heated, there was only one left! I guess the chef makes 7 each day. You must have one if you are lucky enough to get one! It just melted in our mouths, honestly one of the best meals I have had in a very long time! I can not believe I have the ability to eat this amazingly food in a casual setting so close to home! Honestly, I am not a paper plate kind of gal but I am more than happy to eat this food off a napkin if they serve it that way, I will take it however you can get it to me and if it keeps prices down I am all in!! When asked for salt and pepper they had none to offer (which I guess was evident in the food) I then asked for balsamic vinegar and they gave me a little thing with half teaspoon of vinegar what in it. We are living all the new restaurants opening in the Higley/Ray area of Gilbert. This Mediterranean bistro is a WIN! They describe themselves a s ingredient conscious. Yes & more yes! We had the fresh chickpea hummed with warm, fresh crispy edged flatbread. We also ordered the sausage flatbread pizza & the Salametto (hard salami & manchego cheese) sandwich. Absolutely delicious! Super casual spot but still a nice place to meet up for dinner or pick up. We ordered the hummus with za'atar flatbread and this was truly delicious. The bread was soft and crispy but buttery with lots of flavor, as was the hummus. We also ordered the house pizza which is a standard cheese pizza but the crust was well done and didn't fall down as you picked up a slice. Both dishes were flavorful and the service was quick too. Cozy, classy and contemporary- my fiancé and I love this place. I'm not sure what the fuss is over the price- $11 for a pizza that two can share easily. Also it's quality ingredients & it's in the middle of the Epicenter in Gilbert. The price comes with the territory ! We've had the humus, bread and oil, the pizzas, cardamom buns, and an assortment of wines. Their wine is all higher quality, budget friendly price. Also it is cheaper (and more fun) to just get a bottle! The staff is amazing. Trinity and Claudio are always so friendly and kind. They make the experience even better. I really wanted to be cool enough to love this place but I am not. The overall ambiance is sort of modern meets rustic market and the staff are super friendly which is great. The menu is pretty limited and simple and so is the food. We ordered the hummus, ham and cheese sandwich and Funghi pizza. A common theme across all 3 dishes was great bread! This place has baking figured out and the break is amazing. But aside from the bread everything else is pretty pedestrian lacking any significant flavors. The hummus seemed fresh but not at all what you would typically expect from hummus. If you follow my posts at all I frequent Greek places and this hummus was way off from my flavor preference. Pizza dough was delicious but the toppings were pretty bland. Sandwich had great bread but was overall a pretty dry experience lacking any distinctive flavors. They have a near shopping section and looks like a decent selection of fresh breads but nothing I tasted would bring me back anytime soon. read more

We got the sausage which they have to make themselves had a hint of green Bell Pepper and just terrific. Service was great, people treated us coming in and leaving (I love that!). The salad was wonderful - lots of stuff in it. The bread, like the pizza crust was a homer as well... My wife loved that it was over salty like some places do. We love source. It's so cute inside and the service is great. They have great pizzas although I wish they had a few more options for toppings like pepperoni. My son loves pepperoni and was disappointed that it was not an option for his pizza. Other than that, he thoroughly enjoyed his sausage pizza. The crust was super crispy and the sauce was sweet, but tangy. I've had the chopped salad, which is so delicious. It has ham, mango cheese, cucumbers, garbanzo's, shaved pistachios all over the top and homemade breadcrumbs. The salad dressing is so delicious as well. They make amazing bread and serve it to you with your salad, drizzled with olive oil. They have a very limited menu, but what they do have is so yummy. Definitely go try it. This place is fantastic! It's at Epicenter / Agritopia. I've been there twice recently and had the meat ball appetizer and feta salad. Both were delicious. It's a modern, casual vibe, walk up to counter to order and pay, then an employee delivers your food to your table when it's ready. Been here 3 times. Around 1ish. Each time I've been here I've ordered something simple like a bowl or salad. Food and flavor are good. Quality ingredients. Homemade breads are very good. 2 stars because each time it takes almost 30 minutes to get my order when there are no others ordering. And the dude in the kitchen needs to clean up. Wearing a Dirty personal beret with a beard that hasnt been groomed in a year is just nasty. Ownership needs to address their worker hygiene. read more

The pizza and pricing is pretty good. It was pretty slow for a Saturday lunch. Service was also quick and attentive. The biggest turnoff for me was the paper plates. It gave me the impression that the pizza was lower quality cause it looked tacky. I'm sure it saves on labor but it is also wasteful. Growing up in an Italian restaurant in Chicago and having a mom that was a Chef in Milan and Chicago I feel like being at home eating at Source. Spending years in Italy it's pretty simple really good ingredients that are allowed to shine. No heavy overdone sauces and great quality. My wife and I go here as often as possible the salads are great for sharing and the pizzas are all on point. If you're looking for a taste of real Italian a food this is a great place.
