beef shawarma
Adam N.

I would have never found this place if it weren't for TikTok. I really liked how upon walking in there is nice Arabic music playing. It is a restaurant with a mini market which makes it feel so authentic. However, upon my first visit I didn't really look around the market but I did purchase a zero calorie Salaam cola which tasted exactly like Coca Cola. I ordered chicken shawarma plate and for appetizers I got the falafels. I started with the falafels and they were surprisingly not dry at all. I was not sure what kind of sauce it was served with but it paired well with it. The plate portion size is no joke...Everything on the plate had a huge portion size: the salad, hummus, rice, and meat...all of them...Every bite with the yogurt sauce was flavorful. And then I tried a bite with hummus, rice, chicken and the sauce...wombo combo flavors. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish all of it so I had to take a to go box home. On my next visit I ordered the beef shawarma plate and I was not disappointed at all. After finishing with an empty plate, I walked around the mini market. I noticed there was allot of Middle Eastern food, candies, and drinks. I really enjoyed my Salaam cola on my first visit but they did not have the zero calorie version in stock...I did research on the brand and I found that they created the cola to provide aid to countries like (free)Palestine and Yemen which I deeply support. Besides the food, I also saw keffiyehs on display which I liked as well. Overall, I rate this place a strong 10/10. I will come back to try other entrees and desserts like their baklava cheesecake. Princess Pita is great for fresh tasty Mediterranean. The following was crispy topped with sesame seeds. The side Tahini was delicious. We shared the kebab platter - koftka, chicken, steak kabobs on a bed of rice, tasty salad and excellent hummus. The pita came out warm. You order at a counter and the order is brought to you. There's a small market work a variety of spices, spreads, beans etc. All in all, very tasty.

Looking for place to eat and this place popped up. I'm surprised I never heard of this place before. Restaurant/market which is pretty cool. Friendly staff and dessert section looked pretty good. I was happy to see lamb shank on their menu, considering my other favorite place only does it Friday. Ordered lamb shank plate and substituted hummus for baba ghannough, gyro sandwich combo. Food didn't take too long and presentation on my lamb shank was good minus one brown spot on the lettuce. Lamb shank was pretty good and good flavor. Rice was nice and fluffy and tasted better with the gravy or sauce what ever you called it from lamb shank. But unfortunately lamb shank was not soft tender fall off the bone like other place I like. But over all it was not bad. Now baba ganoushwas straight up disappointment. It didn't taste fresh with chunks of egg plant. It tasted more like powered version and had that sandy texture. Salad was decent nothing special. Gyro meat was pretty good and liked the softer texture. Pita bread was kind you would get at grocery store, nothing special. Decided to try one of the dessert and got one small piece of cherry pistachio. I did not realize it was almost $17 a lbs so I just got one small piece which was $2.76. I didn't know what it was and never seen it so I was surprised when I took a bite. It was like cherry flavored Swedish fish with pistachio. I liked it because I love Swedish fish but wifey didn't care for it. It was very sweet. Over all it was not too bad but I don't see myself returning again.

Greek fries - fries are perfectly fried and that feta is 10/10

Note: We were at the Midtown location just two days ago and my daughter and I were still craving this! Here at the Mesa location, the smells of the spices in the grocery side and hot foods immediately hit you upon entering. There was excellent service from our cashier who also brought out our food! In my other post for the other location, I had the kofta entree as is, which includes hummus and a full pita bread, but this time, I wanted to see if I could double the salad in place of them and they obliged! Our cashier went further and asked if we wanted extra cucumbers and we gladly said yes! Our food came out in just a few minutes and it looked and smelled amazing! Just like the other day, I ordered the kofta entree and my daughter got the chicken shwarma gyro with fries and a drink (add $6 extra). This time, we ordered Greek fries as a shareable. Btw, the feta is so creamy and melty on the crispy fries. Yum! The kofta was juicy and the tumeric rice was so complimentary. I'm happy that I subbed for the double salad. Their Greek dressing is delicious. My daughter added Sriracha to her gyro for an extra kick - she finished everything! I ended up taking half my rice and one kofta home for another meal, plus half of the Greek fries. On our next visit here, we will peruse the grocery section and grab some snacks, maybe some olive oil, and of course, a few baklava, maybe a cheesecake slice, and a Dubai chocolate bar.

So glad my coworker recommended that I check out Princess Pita. I was starving after moving all day yesterday and decided to place an online order. As I scrolled through the menu my mouth immediately began to water looking at the descriptions of all the different entrees. I decided on the falafel platter that came with a salad, hummus, rice, yogurt sauce, and pita bread. To start I decided to get the vegetable samosas. I drove to pick it up and was so surprised to see not only a restaurant, but a store as well. Scents of tumeric, pepper, and other spices greeted me. I was warmly welcomed by a staff member and picked up my order. She told me I would really enjoy the samosas and she was correct. Every bite paired with the yogurt sauce was cool and flavorful. I took a few bites of the salad, rice, and hummus and wow again--so delicious! I can't wait to dig into more of my meal when I get home! So thankful that this amazing spot is just five minutes from me!

This place is located in a strip mall to NE of 101 and Broadway. It is actually a small grocery store with the restaurant. We got the Chicken shawarma and kebab as well as the Gyro (see photos). The food was very good and about the size expected for the price. I did see a photo from 10 years ago where it said there was a Friday buffet. If that is still true that would bump this up to 5 stars. I need to come back to try other things and find out about the buffet. I did not know about that possibility when I came in.

They didn't spend a lot on décor in this location. It's pretty straightforward--2 rows of booths and tables. The energy all went into the food---high quality, great flavor, and good portions. This was an accidental find as we were navigating the endless construction zone. I ordered an appetizer--a tangy eggplant dip (Don't knock it until you try it. It's delicious!) served with soft, warm pita bread, and my husband attempted to eat his overstuffed chicken shawarma wrap without wearing it. You order at the counter, and your food arrives quickly at your table. It was hard to ignore the bakery case with some yummy-looking baklava. The employees are patient (It's hard to decide.), and they offered options. There is also a large selection of Mediterranean groceries. I just wish they were closer to home.

We went here for an early dinner today and it was AMAZING! First the staff is so so nice. Everyone made us feel welcome from the person who took our order (im assuming the owner), to the kitchen staff that brought our food, to the girl who checked us out at the end. The food was absolutely delicious and everything was flavorful and fresh. You could also see that the kitchen was clean. 10/10 on this one, we will definitely be back!

Never would've found this place if I was t staying in an Airbnb nearby. This place is MAGICAL. It's a restaurant and market and it feels so authentic. The food is outstanding. The amount of food is incredible and prices are very reasonable. I decided to try the veggie combo with the falafel and grape leaves and I'm blown away'm! Normally these items are easy to mess up or become dry and that was not the case! Tons of flavor and absolutely delicious. It also came with pita bread and their hummus is to DIE FOR!! Service was quick and the associate was very friendly. I wish I lived close to this place to come back weekly!!!

Best Mediterranean food in the East Valley ! Greek salad is the best The chicken kabob awesome

This place is great! The service is top notched, if you don't want a specific side they very quickly recommend other options and the food is just insanely good. The rice is very well seasoned and although I'm trying to cut back on carbs I finished it all! The kebabs are very tasty, you get a lot of meat which is great! Definitely give them a try, you will be back for more.

Literally a screw in my to-go food

Pro-tip: Look closely at your food. Highlights: Food is fine. Lowlights: This restaurant is on the app too good to go where you can buy food from them at the end of the night for a discounted price so it doesn't go to waste. I placed an order from here on March 7th. I ate the food the next day and I was absolutely shocked and disgusted to find a metal screw in my food AFTER finishing most of it. Luckily I saw it, but if I hadn't seen it, I would have easily ate it! Also lucky that it was in the salad so I didn't accidentally microwave it with the rest of the food, but imagine if I had!! This is a huge safety concern as well as food safety. I'm absolutely appalled and will never eat here again.

Came here for early lunch with a friend and was absolutely blown away at how good the quality of their food was. It was absolutely fresh and the store also sells a lot of European and Middle Eastern food, which is fantastic if you have a pallet that really enjoys a diverse food culture. I will definitely be back. The service was good quality, and although it wasn't that busy when we went in, it definitely got busy for the lunch hour rush. People were lined up! Actually, considering how much I loved it the first time, I think I'll go there tomorrow for lunch again - it's been a little while!

Do they have a buffet for lunch and dinner?

As of 11/14/25, I received an email stating their Buffet is Back, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4pm to 8pm. It's $25, per Adult.

Is this a market as well? Or just a restaurant ? I'm looking to find ingredients for cooking .

Yes it's also a market.

Are you open Monday Memorial Day?

Yes our Mesa location will be open!

Gluten-free options available?

Everything on the menu is gluten free besides the pita, taboulah, sambusa, gyro and kibbi.

Are you guys doing buffet on Iftar?

They have a special posted.. give them a call

I was really looking forward to ordering dinner from you guys today. Postmates shows you stopped taking orders at 4pm (just on Tuesdays apparently) Doordash says we're out of your delivery zone, and grubhub says you only do catering. What gives?

I have ordered from them times after 4pm and have received dinners (not catering). It has been a while so they may have changed things. I can only recommend their food very highly.

I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. I'll try not to wait so long before my next visit.

I was browsing Uber Eats for Mediterranean food when I found Golden and realized they had something that looks an awful lot like Khachapuri (here it's on the menu as Aldo). So I abandoned my plans of delivery food and promptly made my way in to eat. The foul is exceptionally garlicky. Perfectly so. My partner said the hummus was his favorite thing we ordered, and he's a pretty discerning dude! The Aldo was excellent. The grape leaves came out hot, which surprised me, but again - solid! Flatbread? Stellar. Maybe even better the next day. The kufta didn't particularly excite me, but I wasn't the one who ordered it, and my partner was happy. My shawarma wrap? Oh boy, that garlic sauce. They even perfectly portion the innards so your pickles aren't all stuck to one side and the fries to the other. You can have pickles in almost every bite! We also got several desserts to take home. I haven't sampled them yet, but the hazelnut baklava in particular intrigues me. Casual ambiance. Options for booths or tables, inside or outside. I am so thrilled to have found Golden - they'll be a regular spot for me!

Stopped in around 11pm on a Sunday night because it was one of the only places in the area that was open if you didn't choose to go with fast food. It was busy with customers at that time of night, surprisingly, maybe due to the fact they cornered the late-night eatery niche. The gentlemen taking the order was friendly. But I don't know if they were caught at a bad time because they were not prepared for the influx of customers. The worker could not even take an order for 15 minutes because they were backed up trying to cook and finish existing orders. The worker did let the crowd know that it would take a while before we could order. Once we ordered, then it took another 20 minutes to get the food. Was it worth the wait? No, sorry. SHAWARMA FRIES- They must have been using old oil, fries were a dark and unpleasant grease bombs. The meat in shawarma was not great. To me it lacked the spices and seasoning and was underwhelming. It was basically Carne Asada without spices. All it was was meat and fries which came with a cream sauce on the side. It could have used some tomato or greens or pickled veg to brighten up dish. It was just heavy and greasy and one-note. I would not order this again. FALAFELS were much the same. Dark and almost burnt, crunchy, hockey pucks, except they were ring-shaped, I think to allow an efficient, even cook, so why were they over-cooked? HUMMUS was pretty decent, creamy and smooth, I wouldn't mind buying this by the cup. It's a shame that the pita bread was so generic, it did not do the hummus justice. The rice also tasted generic. Nothing really felt authentic here. The place needs some detail cleaning really badly. There is dust all over the furniture and decor and it was unappetizing. The bathrooms smelled like a hobo encampment. The tidiness was scary. The friendly staff and hummus is all they really had going for them on my visit. It would be hard for me to comeback unless they really do an overhaul of their restaurant.

5/5 -- One of the Best Middle Eastern Meals I've Had in Years!…read more Kabizza was a fantastic find in North Tempe and easily one of the better Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to in years. I ordered the kebab plate, while my mom ordered the chicken tikka plate. Both came with a generous portion of seasoned rice, hummus, pita and a very fresh side salad. My kebab was very good -- 4/5. The meat was cooked extremely well, with a great char on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside. I personally thought it could have used more seasoning to really make the flavor pop, but that's a relatively minor criticism. I'll definitely order it again because seasoning can sometimes vary depending on who is cooking that day. The chicken tikka, however, was absolutely perfect -- 5/5! The chicken had exactly what you want from grilled Middle Eastern food: a beautiful char on the exterior while remaining incredibly juicy and tender inside. I wouldn't change a thing about it. The sides were also 5/5 across the board. The rice, hummus and salad all tasted remarkably fresh. The hummus was smooth and creamy, and the salad had crisp vegetables that tasted like they had just been cut rather than sitting around waiting to be served. Everything on the plates worked together really well. The restaurant is located in a plaza that certainly isn't the fanciest or most upscale in N. Tempe, so don't judge this place by its surroundings. Inside, Kabizza is clean, comfortable and casual, and ultimately the quality of the food is what matters. I also thought the prices were reasonable considering both the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes. The gentleman who took our order was friendly, and our food came out surprisingly quickly. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I want to explore more of the menu. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced Middle Eastern food in Tempe!
