I am way overdue in reviewing Mijana. Groupon is was introduced me to this restaurant. I've dined here now 3 times since my first Groupon purchase and am impressed. Every time I have dined here my food has been consistent. Fresh, seasoned well and tasty. The price point is reasonable as the portions are large. The service has always been wonderful. Definitely a place you can bring a larger party as they have plenty of seating. Located in a shopping mall there is plenty of parking. Belly dancing as entertainment on dedicated nights. read more

Unlike other Mediterranean restaurants, this place's portions are quite smaller. We got a meal for two which really wasn't that big, but it cost us around $60. The whole restaurant area was quite organized and presentable. However, their bathrooms are absolutely filthy and there was even a cockroach in there. Our meal came with 3 different skewered meats. I preferred the beef over the chicken. The meal itself was average and the service could've been a bit more attentive considering we were the only customers at the time. Went for dinner and belly dance show with friends. It's a large restaurant but they only had 3 servers so service was rather slow but they were all very nice. The menu is vast. I decided on kofta kebab dinner which came with rice and salad. I liked the rice but the kebabs were dry and hard at the ends. They also brought out zhatar and bread on the house. My friends ordered chicken wings, Greek salad- it was fresh and good, Greek pizza, fatayer (spinach pies). No one complained about the food but no one seemed wowed either. The belly dancer was very entertaining and she got a lot of people involved which was fun. Overall, I had a good time but was not impressed with the food. You definitely won't leave hungry, and when you leave, you'll be trying to figure out when you are coming back. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and ingredients. Everything tasted delish. Their fresh home-made hot bread was so light and fluffy, but I have to admit I needed salt on it . I had the beef Shwarma and it was most and flavorful. If you like tomatoes and cucumber to will like everything here. This place is a nice sit-down restaurant, but they rent out their space. On Saturday, they had a dance night where you learn the dance, and then you dance the night away, so that was fun and unexpected. Such a personable, family-run spot so at times service may be a little slow but despite that our server Jacob was amazing and super attentive. After 10pm there was live music and even a belly dancer. The food was DELICIOUS!!! If you like Mediterranean food, I would definitely give this place a try. They have a nice amount of options on their menu and some cocktails with interesting ingredients like fig and pomegranate juice. They also had beer from Lebanon which was cool. They brought out free bread (different from pita) and zatar for dipping and it was delicious and not too filling. We went on Friday night so there was a belly dancing show which was fun (it included some crowd participation so be aware haha). The price was also decent! We came with a big group and the belly dancer took our husbands for a dance so it was really fun! As for the food, we got a shawarma for two and a quail traditional dish because we wanted to try something new at the table. First the server came and told us they are sold out and after I told them what we want as replacement for appetizer, he came back and told us they found quail. As soon as they brought it we were all hit by the smell. The plate was inedible and we left it there. We didn't want to make a big deal in front of everyone it was just foul. The shawarma was good but definitely not for two people. My man could eat this whole thing himself. Tried this restaurant Friday afternoon. Looks like it's a great place to go during evening hours as they have music and belly dance. There are multiple vegetarian choices. We tried falafel wrap and honestly not much impressed. Falafel was crispy on the outside but was a little raw inside. Wasn't cooked properly. Unfortunately, this visit was a major letdown. The service was extremely slow and uncoordinated, even on a night when the restaurant wasn't busy. It took 45 minutes just to receive our food, and the staff appeared confused about basic operations. The food itself was very bland and lacked the bold flavors typically associated with Middle Eastern cuisine. Jalapeño hummus meh, lentil soup was missing flavor, wrap was mildly ok. Live entertainment was advertised, however belly dancer only danced for a few minutes. Salsa night took over shortly after and well, looked like a poor security guard moving the endless amount of tables to open up the space for a dance floor. Hostess in her phone, Servers running back and fort seemingly running the whole restaurant, bartenders arguing in the back and management no where to be seen. Zero coordination, zero team effort. Overall, the experience felt poorly managed and not worth a return visit. I don't recommend anyone to visit this place until management gets it together. Absolutely a joke. I purchased a Groupon for this place and was genuinely excited to try the food. I ordered a gyro plate and falafel. The falafel was so over cooked that It was hard and not edible. The gyro meat was so thin you could literally see through it. Not to mention everything was cold. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the lamb shank (so soft). We also had the tabouli salad, mussels and gyro plate. Everything from food to drinks was delicious. We found this place on yelp, and placed a reservation via the website. We came on a Thursday night, which meant there was dancers! They kept the music at a good volume, where we could still have conversation and enjoyed the dancing.The chairs in the restaurant were comfortable to sit in and the environment was beautiful. We used to love this restaurant! But after a very unpleasant experience,we will no longer be patrons. My parents took my husband, some family from out of town and I to enjoy a nice Lebanese dinner. We all ordered, but our food came out at different times. The quality was below average but the straw that broke the camels back was the cockroach crawling inside the bag of bread they brought to our table. After my dad and I both contacted Management at the restaurant with no real sense of urgency or concern from them, we deemed it necessary to contact the local health department. They informed us that they did go into the restaurant, and found evidence of cockroaches and other concerns that they could not discuss with us. read more

This has to be one of my favorite places to dine in Phoenix! If you're looking for a place that has it all, this is it. Last night I celebrated my birthday here and my guests said they felt like they were at 3 different venues throughout the night. First, we had a traditional sit down restaurant experience. Next, there was a belly dancer who performed and even got the audience involved which was thrilling! Finally, a Latin dance class began which led to a night full of dancing and fun. My friends even ordered hookah for themselves outside and joined in on the dancing intermittently. On top of all of that, the food was AMAZING!!! If you love healthy and delicious Lebanese food, then don't hesitate to come here. This place has the best shawarma and garlic sauce. I'm still thinking about the bread and desserts which were superb as well. My partner was enamored by the desserts especially. He didn't come up for air lol. You can't go wrong with this place. Came here because we had a Groupon and wanted to try something different. I actually came here once before back in 2018. The restaurant was dead around noon and only two other tables were being served. By time we left there were no other patrons in the restaurant on a Thursday. The table we sat at was the only table that needed to be cleaned, and that is where we were sat at for some reason. The floor was filthy underneath (also a bug under the table) and we asked to be moved which was not a problem. The food was better than good, but if we ever come back it will probably be for takeout. Unless it's a night when the belly dancers are there. The waitress was incredible. They seemed understaffed (which is understandable since there were no customers) and she was doing everything. She was really nice and answered any questions we had regarding the menu with a smile on her face. We came here to have a dinner on a Saturday night. When we walked into the restaurant around 7:45 pm, only a few tables were occupied. We were debating between leaving and giving it a chance. The restaurant was about to have a live belly dance show and I wanted to see it. Seems like they offer the show every Friday and Saturday night. The dance show was great. She danced 4 or 5 songs. Different experience to see live while having dinner. My partner and I both tried Arak to drink. Because we never tried any of them, we asked the server's opinion. He pointed out the most popular 2 Arak choices. So, my husband got Batroun and I got Massya. I found Massya smoother to drink, and Batroun had a stronger flavor, especially for the aftertaste. At least, I now know what Arak I like :) We got Kibbe for the appetizer and Quails for the main dish to share. Kibbe was alright. The stuffing was dry. I didn't enjoy it that much. The dipping sauce was good though. Quail was my choice to try. I was going to have it for myself only, but then we changed our minds to share it. I am glad we shared because the portion was big for me; I wouldn't finish it by myself. Quails plate came with 2 perfectly cooked quails, salad, french fries, and rice. I enjoyed everything about the plate. Quails had lots of small bones. So, be ready to use your fingers lol Our server was nice. He checked us multiple times and asked about our opinions about the food and drink. Also, the manager (or the owner) checked the tables if everything was going well.
