Pizza is always best piping hot, and even with take-out, the pie from Salerno's was still steaming when I got home. Coming from a town known for great pizza, finding a comparable spot is tough -- but Salerno's comes close, and I'll definitely be back. The only tweak I'd make is the sauce, which leans a bit tart for my taste. Tip: order it well done. Saluti

Food and service was amazing. Best pizza I've had in such a long time. Crumb cake was also amazing. The sausage was made in house, just so fresh and amazing. Will definitely be back several times.

A family run business worth supporting . The wait staff was super friendly and service was very attentive . Lots of tables for seating so it wasn't a long wait. Could see lots of take out orders leaving which is always a good sign too Over all the food was tasty , being from back east there were some more unusual choices than your typical local Italian. A large portion of their food is home made like their desserts and appetizers , and ravioli , lasagna. Their pizza is deep dish Chicago and thin crust The deep dish looked tasty but we got the pizza . It was made more with what seemed like a cracker crust ( not home made?) reminded me of boxed pizza . The toppings where sold per item so be careful it adds up quick My favorite is they have homemade Neapolitan ice cream sundaes and tiramisu. We too a slice home for later. We wanted to try it , but at 10,00 it was a bit pricey for it . But lots of things are going that direction

This was our first time eating at Salerno's, we live down the street and drive by it all the time and finally made our way in. At first, we were confused because we didn't know if there was seated service or if we had to order at the counter. After that, we figured that you had to order at the counter and then take your table. The adults split a cheese pizza with Italian sausage and ricotta cheese, my husband got a calzone, and my daughter got spaghetti with butter. My husband's only gripe was that the calzone was very doughy, and he wished that there was more toppings and cheese on the inside. But my mom and I shared a pizza and it was delicious. I loved how the pizza was baked and the texture of the cheese on the top! Next time we won't wait to come back to Salerno's, it will make its way into our rotation of new restaurants! The staff were very friendly, it seems like a very nice family restaurant.

When you go in a restaurant and the staff knows 90% of the tables. You know you are at the right place, Trish knows her FAMILY of customers. As it was our first time eating there, it was a welcomed change! Everyone was amazing. When you go in you step up to the counter and order from the menu and they will bring the food to your table. Oddly, I liked the pay before you eat, casual eating experience. My daughter ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, garlic bread, brownie with cup ice cream. I ordered the lasagna. Garlic bread was very good! Soft bread dipped in a melted garlic butter..dripping good! Lasagna, I was told by Trish, were made in house. $19.99 will feed 2 people. Lasagna was 5 layers with Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese (?), house made spaghetti sauce. With a crispy cheese goodness on the outside edge! Sauce was delicious, , not overly seasoned and not salty. Only down side I personally had with the dish is that I thought the layers should have been fuller,or more of it. Layers were thin and 1 bottom layor of Italian sausage. The lasagna noodles were amazing but I just wanted a thicker hardier bite. The chocolate chip brownie is house made! Huge! Enough for 2 people.. down side... the cup vanilla ice cream if you get that... Just get the brownie! Overall great experience, we will return. I was eyeing the old school rotating pizza oven.. next time

We recently catered from Selenro's Restaurant & Pizzeria for a large party and were beyond impressed! We ordered cheese ravioli, mostaccioli, fettuccine Alfredo, vegetarian mostaccioli, and garlic bread--and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, the pasta perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. It ended up being the perfect amount of food plus extra leftovers. The only (very minor) hiccup was the garlic bread--we thought it would be traditional garlic bread, but it came as sliced bread with Parmesan cheese on the side. We ended up buttering, seasoning, and toasted. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we'll definitely be ordering again. Can't wait to try more from their menu! The staff was so helpful they even assisted in putting in my SUV.

Very simple concept. Order at the counter, but pretty much just serve yourself after that. Staff is constantly checking on you though. The owner (I assume) even checked on us numerous times to make sure we were enjoying our dishes. Ordered garlic cheese bread, an all meat pizza, chicken alfredo, and chicken franchaise. Garlic cheese bread was amazing and honestly, I can't remember the last time I had pizza this good! Soooo much flavor... and the crust? Omg the crust was something I've never tasted before. Chef's kiss . The chicken franchaise (spelling?) was also phenomenal. It was so tender that even the next day it was delicious. They don't do much to garnish or make their dishes look fancy, but don't be misled. Their modesty is all an act because those dishes are an explosion of flavors. I can't believe I've never tried this place before. We'll definitely be back. Make sure to go hungry too, because they're not stingy on portions size.

If you want thin-crust Chicago pizza ,you should give it a try. Close your eyes you can almost hear the L train off in the distance.

I love that they change their menu daily, it's handwritten and the details are posted on their Instagram page if you want to take a look before you arrive. Everything is made fresh to order! The day we had gone in, they had a few sandwich and pasta options available to choose from. My husband got the spicy Italian sausage ziti pasta dish and I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. It's a pretty small place with a few tables & some bar type seating. It gets pretty busy around lunch time, so plan accordingly. We'll be back again to try other items!

Manager Gabe was attentive,…read moreChef Leo is a gem with his food creations and kindness visiting tables and Ashlee was a great waitress. We started with the Octopus and Calamari (fried squid). Both were made to perfection. Great flavor and so tender. A perfect start to the dinner. We had the Caprese and Caesar Salad next. Both had solid flavors, but the Caesar was our favorite. What a treat. Exactly what I'm looking for in a Caesar salad. So good! The pesto on the Caprese was house made and so tasty. I want to try a pesto dish next time. My wife had the Sacchetti Porcini with truffle and it was light and perfectly balanced flavor. The pillows melted in your mouth. Will definitely have again. The Lobster Ravioli had a well balanced limoncello flavor and not too creamy. Cool striped pasta. Perfect for those not super hungry but wanting a unique dish that is sure to please. Steak Nicola was was cooked to perfection and had a suburb combination of black truffle, aus jus and prosciutto cotto to make it a memorable dish. I'm still craving it the day after. The cannelloni for dessert was perfectly Italian with awesome flavors. A perfectly compliment to an amazing dinner. This is a gem is Chandler!!! Thank you to Aqua Di Mare for making this an amazing experience.

What a sad disappointment…read more We were excited to try this place and chose it to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We reserved a patio table since it was the only seating available, figuring it would be worth it if the restaurant lived up to the hype of the reviews. Unfortunately, it did not. From the moment we were seated, we felt overlooked. In a nutshell, the server was extremely inattentive. We were not acknowledged for at least 15 minutes which was extremely awkward as we sat dressed to celebrate, and feeling invisible. After finally placing our drink order, it took another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. To our dismay - they arrived warm. I ordered a Grey Goose Dirty Martini, and it was served warm. SMH. We also ordered the chilled jumbo prawn appetizer, which unfortunately arrived warm as well - even the cocktail sauce was warm. The shrimp, while large, were dry and flavorless. At that point, it became clear the food quality simply wasn't there. Meanwhile, my husband was already searching his phone for another restaurant. Thankfully, we managed to get into a new place just around the corner. After spending an hour and a half at Aqua, we paid our check and left. The new restaurant delivered exactly the experience we had hoped for - outstanding service, perfectly chilled martinis complete with ice chips, and an excellent meal. I'm honestly floored by our experience here, especially considering the glowing reviews this place receives. Maybe it was a one-off, but it was disappointing enough that we won't risk giving it a second chance.

The place is super cute and homey and can accommodate both big and small parties. It's a good thing that Sal's is 20 minutes from us, or else we would probably be here at least 3 times a week, something that would do considerable damage to both of our waistlines.

Our server was friendly, though hesitant to make any recommendations or share any opinions about the food, other than her love of the limoncello cake because 'it is light.' We tried the eggplant and chicken Parmesan because it sounded interesting and unlike offerings at other Italian restaurants. It was unique and fun to try, but I don't think I would get it again. It was quite heavy on the breading and there was a generous portion of cheese and sauce. We asked if we could substitute a salad in place of the spaghetti that it came with and our server did indicate they offer garlic sautéed spinach or broccoli so we selected the broccoli. She did not inform us that it came at an extra charge, though we would have still been happy to pay it, it's just nice to be informed ahead of time of any additional cost. I definitely recommend the cannolis as the filling was thick and creamy and not overly sweet and the entire shell was dipped in chocolate!
