Verde on Smith Street in Brooklyn for brunch, and it did not disappoint. The fare was great across the board, and the portions were seriously generous. I ordered the steak, and it was huge definitely one of those dishes that leaves you fully satisfied. It was well-prepared, flavorful, and felt like great value for the portion size. Overall, a solid brunch spot if you're looking for hearty portions and a satisfying meal. I'd definitely go back.

I stopped by Verde on Smith in Brooklyn one afternoon with my boyfriend after he recommended it--he'd been before and said everything on the menu was great, and he was NOT lying. This spot is such a good find if you're into hearty Italian flavors and generous portions. Even though it's Italian, they also serve brunch, and we decided to keep it simple. I ordered the scrambled eggs which were surprisingly flavorful and perfectly cooked--creamy and not overdone at all. My boyfriend had the pancakes, and I swear those things were huge and so good--soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness without being over the top. Portion sizes here are big, so honestly it's a great place to share plates if you want to try more than one thing. We also had the blood orange passion fruit juice, and it was refreshing and delicious--sweet but still light enough to enjoy with brunch. Overall, great food, good portions, and a cozy vibe. In the future, they need to accept Phone Tap payments. I can definitely see why this is one of my boyfriend's go-to spots. I'll be back for sure!

3.5 I've dined at Verde since my last review including during the pandemic. Through the following years, it seems to have changed. For one thing, Sunday brunch seems to draw a long line resembling a club crowd. Never saw this before years ago. Perhaps it's the boozy brunch but speaking for myself, I prefer to steer clear from such crowds. After an absence, we decided to have brunch here today. Luckily it was quiet and we were seated quickly. Our server was super nice and hospitable. He answered any questions and service was attentive. My order was the Swiss Omelet. A 3 eggs omelet with Swiss Cheese and Mushrooms, I opted for home fries in lieu of the Fries. A small salad also accompanied the meal. My drink of choice was an unsweetened Iced Tea. Refreshing. The other order was Eggs Florentine with Fries. Though I enjoyed my selection, the Egg Florentine wasn't given 2 thumbs up. For one thing, the eggs weren't hot (maybe it was left on the counter for a little while), the Spinach wasn't too flavorful and the Hollandaise sauce was skimpy. I felt bad about the discrepancy between our selections since I really liked mine. I'll give this a solid 3.5. I'd like to experience Verde from when I bragged about it in 2018. Despite this, I'd return.

Verde on Smith Street was a win. The 90-minute bottomless brunch is honestly one of the best deals around. I ordered the steak and eggs Benedict and it came out exactly how I wanted it--perfectly medium rare. Service was fast, attentive, and kept the vibes going. Definitely coming back

Relaxed and lay back scenery. Just what I need for a Brunch experience. Staff were courteous and friendly. We ordered the grilled salmon, steak and fries and the Fusion margaritas as brunch special. Everything was great!

By far the best brunch I go to in Brooklyn. I've been coming here for a few years now and I'm never disappointed! The staff are friendly, the food is amazing, and the bottomless is truly bottomless. They continue to refill your glass so you are getting your moneys worth. I've also been here for dinner and it's just as amazing! I can come here any day and know I will be satisfied

This was my first time at Verde's. I went for brunch. We were able to walk in without reservations and be seated. We sat in the back which is partially covered. I enjoyed the calming music and breeze (they have fans) BUT the flies and bees were a nuisance. My food wasn't hot- not even the fries. I think that would've made it more enjoyable. Would I come back? Probably. The brunch for 2 is priced well and they give a big plate of food. Very affordable!

Went to Verde for brunch last week. It was a weekend so 1 hour of bottomless mimosas was $27. During the week the same service is $22 but I don't mind the charge - they definitely deserve the extra on the weekend. Anyway, it was an absolute incredible meal. Staff was so wonderful. Mimosas flowed for the ENTIRE HOUR. If you want to get your money's worth, come here. Adorable backyard seating.

Went here as part of my birthday celebration with my girls. We had the bottomless brunch, which offered mimosas or Bellini unlimited for 1 hour. I had pancakes topped with fruit, home fries and sausages. We also had the calamari as an appetizer which was absolutely delicious. Definitely a must try.

We love supporting local businesses and one such treasure is Verde On Smith. We came for Valentine's Day dinner and were not disappointed. They have a full bar and we enjoyed some well made cocktails first. Their baked clams oreganata and zucchini fritters were very fresh and just the right amount of breadcrumbs. Our main courses were the lobster feast and chicken parm, both outstanding! For dessert, we couldn't decide between the tiramisu and the cannoli, so we had both. What a great finish to the meal! We're glad to have this great dining option nearby!

Overall a pleasant experience. The host at the door was a little icy at first but he warmed up by the end. The food was tasty, except my friend did not like her steak. It was cold and undercooked to her liking and also lacked seasoning. The waitresses and servers were pleasant. I'd come again for brunch specifically

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 I came here on an impromptu lunch meeting and I wasn't hardly disappointed!! I sat by the door so between the bartender and server I was spoiled! For $25 in addition to your food, opt in for unlimited drinks for 2 hours... My cup wasn't EVER EMPTY! The music was fun and modern! A mix of pop and r n b and overall good tunes ! Will return for additional experiences such as brunch and dinner. Seems to be a special which sounds good to me! I'm giving major thanks that Verde on Smith took such good care of my lunch cravings at an amazing price point! 2 thumbs up and will def return

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
