One of the best vegan/vegetarian restaurants I've had! My friend and I came here twice. My favourites were the sweet and sour mushrooms with vegetables and the crispy fried rice. The portions were huge, everything was flavourful, and the service was efficient and nice.

We stopped in for lunch on a Friday m. The place shares a space with a Thai restaurant, so you just have to say you're there for the veggie Chinese place. They have lunch specials that include a choice of main, a soup, a side, and vegetables (bok choy). My wife got the ma po tofu ($17.95) and I got the spicy fried bean curd ($16.95). We also got some BBQ lion's mane mushroom skewers. Everything was delicious other than the weird slimy seaweed that was part of the side dish. The mains were excellent, well-flavoured and well-portioned, and the skewers were beautifully spiced and had great texture. Overall, very good food, reasonably priced, and solid service. Recommended.

I sadly didn't find this as good as most lists or reviews say it is and I am pretty easy going. Got quite a few items for takeout, a pad Thai dish, sweet/sour soup, the skewers and the tea mushroom... Tea mushroom was pretty spicy and kinda annoying to either chew on or pick through all the chillies...flavour just felt like a ton of garam masala..big miss for me. Same with the rest of the dishes Sadly won't be back but happy I got to try. I did pick up so didn't sit but restaurant is nice inside and was easy to order over the phone

The staff were friendly and around when you needed them. The place was cute but the food was MAGIC! We got the carrot dumplings and they were so good I didn't even remember to take a photo The star was the king oyster mushroom wraps though. WOW! Picture those crispy duck wraps at dinner sum but mushroom. Such nice flavours and textures!

One of the best meals I've had during my five day visit to Toronto. I only wish I had found them earlier so I could come back again! Service was fantastic and the food was just amazing. The place is clean and has a great vibe.

I've been a long time Yelp user, but have never felt compelled to write a review until today. We visited Toronto for the weekend and loved Vege Delight so much we went twice during the weekend (and skipped another restaurant we had planned to try). The best vegetarian Chinese food we've ever had and we've been vegetarian for decades. Note it's a mushroom centric restaurant and many dishes creatively use mushrooms to achieve different textures and flavors. During our first visit, we got the crispy shiitake mushroom with orange shreds (incredible), BBQ lion's mane mushroom skewers (so crisp and flavorful), lotus root dumplings (very good), and sixi veggie balls (so good our kids ate almost all of it and my husband and I had to share remaining scraps). During the second visit, we reordered the mushroom skewers, and ordered the Chongqing boiled veggie fillet in chili oil (possibly our favorite dish at the restaurant but it's so hard to choose), king oyster mushroom pancake (very good but we've had better Peking duck-esq dishes using vegan meat instead of mushrooms), and noodles in wild mushroom soup (incredibly flavorful but not too salty and not at all oily so I even drank all the soup, which I never do with noodle soups). The service was friendly, prompt, and the ambiance was nice (we went for an early lunch both days and it wasn't crowded or loud). We're already planning another trip back to Toronto so we can go back to Vege Delight.

Mushroom-based vegetarian food. The food is not salty, not full of MSG. Fun items including Peking duck, cold Sichuan noodles, Thai fried rice. Food is a mix of different cuisines. Our servers were two earnest girls. Food was 4/5 service 5/5. Price was reasonable.

What a delight! We went on Saturday to kickoff our weekend and we were pleasantly impressed. The foods are extremely delicious with the best flavors. We were in awe with the mushroom skewers I forgot they were not meat. The assorted vegetables on the crispy rice were sooo good and I helped my partner finish up her noodles too. I gotta say everything we tried was wonderful and we were considering buying their ingredients if we were heading home. Service was quick and the place has lots of seating options which we felt comfortable during our time. If you're vegetarian you must check this place out and you'll love it. We will definitely eat there again in the future!

The restaurant has a lot of smaller tables, making it feel cozy, and the service was super friendly. I ordered the dry boat noodles with egg noodles and they were so good. The side of broth was absolutely amazing and honestly one of the best parts of the meal. Rich, flavorful, and so comforting. I kept alternating between bites of noodles and sips of broth. There was chili oil on the table, and I definitely got a little carried away. It was seriously spicy, but somehow I couldn't stop eating. My mouth was on fire, but every bite made me want another. Even after leaving, I kept thinking about those noodles. I also liked that there are several noodle options to choose from depending on what texture you're craving. Between the delicious food, great broth, and kind service, this is definitely a spot I'd come back to again.

I went during the summer, and there was no air conditioning so it was pretty hot inside. However, the food was amazing. For the beef noodles, the meat was tender. The soup is rich and authentic, with the perfect balance of spice; however the portion was a bit small. I also tried the fried dumplings, it's flavorful, but the skin was a bit thick. The Thai tea was average, a little bit too sweet for me. Overall, I still like this restaurant, and will definitely come back again.

I'm definitely coming back here!…read more We ordered the Tapioca dumplings, the beef messemen curry, and the mango and purple sticky rice. Wow! It was all so tasty. The tapioca dumplings are unlike anything I've tasted before. They serve it with a side of lettuce, mint and peanuts. I liked the dumplings better without the sides they served! The lettuce and other add ons dim the flavors of the dumplings. So I prefer just eating the dumplings straight on. The Messemen curry was so flavorful and the beef was so tender! I'm a big fan. If you're a fan of Thai curries then you'll definitely like this! The Mango purple sticky rice dessert was also really tasty! It had a tasty coconut sorbet and it all went really well together. Service was good, food came out quickly, vibes were good. No complaints here!

Unfortunately, the day took an unexpected turn when I had to go to the hospital, and for a while I thought I wouldn't make it at all. As a testament to both the kindness of my friends and the exceptional staff at Lao Lao, they were able to accommodate us even though I arrived nearly two hours late on a busy Saturday evening. Originally, our table was only reserved until 8:00 p.m.--the exact time I finally arrived. Thankfully, with the help of our incredible server, Savanna N., everything worked out. Her professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help truly made the evening possible. More than anything, I hoped the wait would be worthwhile for my friends, who were visiting for the first time. I'm happy to say they absolutely loved it--especially the outstanding hospitality and customer service. A huge thank you to Savanna and the entire team for making us feel so welcome. As for the food, every dish was delicious. Nothing disappointed. The papaya salad was such a hit that we ordered it twice. The Beef Massaman Curry, Crispy Lao Spiced Chips, Banana Leaf Steamed Fish, and the seasonal Vermicelli Noodle in Chicken Coconut Red Curry were all exceptional. Although it had been about a year since my last visit, I was delighted to see that Lao Lao remains consistently excellent in its food, quality, and service. Bravo!

I eat pad Thai in every city I visit and this may be the best yet since I first had pad Thai in college many many years ago. Been chasing that epic pad Thai for years and think I finally found it. Amazing depth of flavor. Partner got the Islamic noodles, which he thought were excellent as well, rich flavor and very well made. Would happily eat again. The only issue I had which made me knock off a star is that the glass and silverware had an odd scent, like the smell your glasses have if there's food stuck in your dishwasher filter -- if you know that scent you know what I mean. Just smelled funky and honestly the smell was ruining the taste (smell and taste are so closely linked) so I drank out of my own water bottle I had brought and grabbed a plastic fork to eat with which did solve the issue but still...less than ideal
