Google translate of menu - love the names of the dishes

Amazing food. This will be one of our go to places when driving to Toronto. The vermicelli bowl is a perfect food - crispy, crunchy, sweet, salty, chewy, fresh, bright. I love everything about it. The noodles are perfect and everything compliments it so well. It comes with a sauce/dressing to pour on it, which is also *chef kiss*. The papaya salad was sensational and comes with vegetarian pork floss. It's crunchy and flavorful. So good and a perfect size as a generous appetizer for two. The tea the seve you when you sit down it so deliciou. I can't get enough. It's warm and toasty. We had a stir fried noodle dish with veggies and rice noodles. It didn't have anywhere near as much flavor as the other dishes. I didn't bother with any of the condiments but my dining companion, who LOVES spicy food, said that pickles were no joke. They were right on the cusp of awesome and regret.

It was our first time trying this place. We were looking for Vegetarian food in Mississauga and found this on Google. I ordered a fried rice, it was very tasty. The rice was flavorful yet not too salty. Prices are decent. Service was great, we didn't have to wait too long to get our food. We would certainly consider coming back to this restaurant when we're in the area again.

Satay Noodle Soup.

When I was told we'd be eating lunch at a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant, I had my doubts. Part of what's so great about Vietnamese food is the way the meat is cooked, so how would it work without any meat whatsoever? Pretty darn well, it turns out. After perusing their extensive menu for a while, I finally decided to try the Satay Noodle Soup ("Mock beef balls, tofu, mock pork sausage, mock ham & satay sauce"). It arrived a little while later and it's an almost intimidating portion of soup. I was fairly certain I wouldn't end up finishing it but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself. Everything works really well here, from the luscious, flavorful broth to the various components )including plenty of tasty cilantro). I'm not sure the fake meat adds anything to the dish, but it wasn't offensive or anything. My only complaint is that the service was pretty atrocious. We barely saw our server and after waiting a while for a cheque to materialize, we just gave up and paid at the counter. It's really a shame when restaurants don't put as much effort into service as they do food, as they're both equally important (in my eyes, anyway).

Mock meat and flavourings

I like this restaurant. It is authentic Vietnamese buddhist vegetarian, which means they don't use garlic, onions, or scallions, make some tasty soup/broths and do some yumminess to mock meat. It has a nice family vibe. I've tried some delicious meals and so-so meals here. We have had varying qualities of service. However I do recommend this place and would gladly come back. For instance, i usually get the papaya salad but this time it was mostly carrot. I asked the waiter if they ran out of papaya? He rushed away and came back with a plate of plain grated papaya. We dumped it on top of the salad, when they should have fixed it in the kitchen. But I will prob order it again next time anyway. I recommend the grilled beef and spring roll on vermicelli and also the hot and sour pho noodle soup. Didn't like the udon soup so much, even tho the broth is nice. I believe they use egg noodles which is different in flavour color and texture from udon. Prices are reasonable, but raised to about $13/dish. Pick up dehydrated mock meat, homemade sauces and treats, or hot bar item. free parking. Pay at the counter.

Located in an awkward part of Mississauga, near the Queensway. At least there are plenty of parking spots in front of the place. Walking in, you will be surrounded by plants and Buddhas. The soft music is calming. The tables are separated by real large plants which are nice to look at. (I love plants!!) We both ordered noodle soup bowl with imitation meat and veggies. There could have been more toppings. Everything was right to taste. I would go back to try some of their appetizers and other dishes. It's nice to know there's a Viet vegetarian restaurant in Mississauga!! Glad we finally stopped by for lunch. And prices are great!!

Amazing place! Ambiance is calming and peaceful. Food is abundant and fresh. Dai Bi Chay is the herbitat for mints, basil, lemongrass and many other herbs used in Vietnamese cuisines. We had the Lau Thai Chay (Tom yum hot pot for two), Bun Bo Hue Chay (Spicy Vegetarian Noodle Soup) and Bun Bo Nuong Cha Gio Chay (Vermicelli with Mock Grilled Beef and Spring Rolls). Everything was very herbaceous! The portion size for the Hot Pot was enough for four. I adore the accompaniments of fresh leafy greens! Overall, highly recommended Dai Bi Chay for a great planty plant based meal! Everything was in mint condition. Don't stop beleafing in the possible of amazingly delicious vegan vegetarian food!

Fried wontons with a sweet chili sauce

I have eaten at Dai Bi Chay many times and I always enjoy their food! Today, I ordered 2 different soups and the fried wontons using Skip The Dishes. All the food arrived piping hot! And all the soup components were individually packed - noodles and mock meats in plastic bowls, broths in plastic containers, and red cabbage, basil and bean sprouts in a small plastic baggie. Fried wontons I love these! The wonton wrapper was super crispy. The filling was soft and nicely seasoned. I can only guess what the filling was because it's not written in the menu - maybe taro? Maybe mushroom? I'll ask the next time I dine in! The accompanying sweet chilli sauce had a nice, tiny kick of heat to it. Spicy vegetarian soup I love the variety of mock meats and tofu that come with both soups - so good! The added crunch from the bean sprouts, red cabbage and raw onion were delightful. I prefer glass noodle over udon noodle as a matter of personal preference - I always prefer chewy over soft noodles. The broth was so flavourful, slightly sweet and not too spicy - yummy in my opinion and highly recommended! Hot and sour soup I would not describe the broth as hot or sour - I would describe the broth as light, sweet and fragrant. I think it's delicious and I could drink this broth everyday! It's flavours are delicate so you have to drink this soup first before moving onto stronger flavours. Try Dai Bi Chay and tel me what I should try next!

What made this visit memorable was the service and people willing to help and answer questions clearly. Which was very reassuring. Even though food was 3.5 or. 4 star, the service earned them extra stars! You can tell that I am so ignorant - I always assumed the Vietnamese food always had some fish or meat in it and it was impossible to get Vietnamese Vegetarian food. I was made aware of this place and was not sure if I should try even after I glanced through the menu online. So on Friday night after a long tiring day, the four of us headed to try DBC out. You are given menus and an order book with a pen. We went through the extensive menu and wrote our choices. Served hot green tea as well. We ordered a W01 a plate with salads and mock meats and more salad and surprise a bunch of rice paper rolls (which we failed to notice that it comes with this). More Rice paper was offered if needed for no extra charges. It says that it is for 2 people but 3 people can easily eat it. If you do not know how to wrap rice paper rolls, do not attempt this as it takes some practice to do it. The servers are very helpful and will also teach you if needed. Luckily for me Mrs has made this several times at home and it was breeze for her. For me, not so much. Do get the peanut satay sauce as the standard sauce provided was not as good. Ordered a S04 which was fried and rice and stir fried mock beef. Which was standard and and not as flavourful as expected. Ordered a N11 which was a vermicelli Soup in a spicy broth. The Soup was spicy and good. Do try to finish as soon as you can as when cool it is not as good. Also ordered a steamed rice with stir Fried vegetables and some mock meats. Which was great as well.

Satay Noodles. Where are the noodles?

I've eaten here and ordered take out in the past on many occasions. The food was usually good and good portions however tonight I ordered the satay noodles and for $15.50 there was barely any noodles... just lots of soup, a few pieces of tofu, lettuce and mock meat. Not to mention the terrible presentation. It was like someone had already eaten from the bowl. I'm still hungry and making a sandwich as I write this review. For that price I would expect to go home satisfied and not have to contemplate ordering McDonalds on the way home. Won't be eating there again.

My friend recommended me to this restaurant. I drove all the way from Scarborough to Missisauga to have dinner with her and it's worth the drive. This all vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant has the best food in town! Their foods are bursting with flavours and the aroma is amazing. The staffs are super friendly and the owner is very attentive, kind and considerate. I'm amazed with how good vegetarian dishes can transform themselves and fulfill all my taste buds. Not to mention they're very healthy and making me feel great afterward. I'll come again anytime. Thanks Dai Bi Chay

One of my favourite spots for asian vegan food in the GTA - if not, THE top! Whenever I am not feeling for anything heavy and want to avoid meats I ALWAYS come here for the vegan Bun Bo Hue. My family is from Hue and hardcore traditional, so I've been eating authentic bun bo hue my entire life and let me tell you, the broth here is pretty damn close without all the meats.. even better than some bun bo hue that aren't vegan... LOL. All the vegetables, mock meats and tofu ties all the seasoning and spices together to make the perfectly rich-flavoured bowl of bun bo hue chay. I am not surprised that this is one of their best sellers at all. Portion is also very generous - the bowl does not seem that big but it is so DEEP LMFAO.. oodles and oodles of noodles and never-ending broth. I can never finish an entire bowl myself, so my friend and I usually share one bowl along with an appetizer and we're STUFFED! I've also tried their mango salad and vegetarian spring rolls. The sweet chili sauce that comes with the spring rolls is my favourite!! I always end up finishing the entire sauce. Service-wise is pretty good. Sometimes I don't get acknowledged/greeted when I get there and have to seat myself but that is only when the servers are occupied. When they're not occupied I am always greeted upon arrival. Regardless in any circumstances, I never have to wait too long for anything, and it is easy to get their attention whenever I need anything. The girls working there are also very sweet! Dai Bi Chay will always have a place in my heart! I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Everyone that I've recommended this establishment to also had great things to say, and even the ones that knew of this place before I mentioned it to them love this place as much I do! You will not be disappointed :)

Vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant? Sign me up!! I always crave soups and I find it difficult finding good asian vegetarian soups but Dai Bi Chay offers so many different types! It definitely exceeded my expectations. Servers were friendly, place is clean (newly renovated?), and definitely worth a visit. Bring cash/debit. Aside from the soups, I recommend the iced coffee too. You won't be disappointed :)

As a Vietnamese vegan living in Toronto, I knew I had to try this place at least once. Overall, it pleasantly met my expectations. The food was pretty good for vegan Vietnamese food. Before becoming vegan, I was lucky enough to travel to Vietnam and have the street food there, so my expectations have risen since then, but I did enjoy the food here. I had the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gia while my boyfriend had their Pho. Both our bowls were full of flavour and my boyfriend said that it was the most flavourful vegan Pho broth he has had. I was a bit disappointed by the spring rolls in my dish as they were small and looked like they were bought from the frozen aisle of a supermarket. However, for the $9 price, I can't really complain. If you want to try their Banh Mi, you should get there early because they do run out early. I got there around 1:00PM on a Saturday and they were already out. The staff were very friendly and could speak both Vietnamese and English. The restaurant, itself, is kind of on the small side and even though it was around 18 degrees out, the restaurant felt very humid and hot. There are some tables with arm chairs and I would recommend against them because from seeing people sit in them, it looked uncomfortable as they had to hunch over in order to eat their food at the table (the chairs could not get close enough to the table). I took off a star because when you first go, no one really greets you. I had to flag down a waiter in order to tell them that I wanted to dine in. There is no system in place to see which customers came first, so when it gets busy (and it was very busy the day I went), it can be frustrating to keep reminding them that we were next. Parking can be a pain because the parking lot is very small and shared with the other stores next to the restaurant. Transit is possible but the MiWay busses don't run as frequently as TTC, so definitely plan accordingly.

Coffee sugar jelly dessert with a creme caramel/flan thingie inside! So good & so beautiful!

The restaurant is nicely decorated, and within five minutes it was completely full. My dad ordered the specialty beef bone rice noodle soup. A second bowl came out just for the bone--holy moly! His only complaint was the noodles; he didn't care for the wide noodles. My sister got the bún bò Huế. The broth was excellent and approved by my parents, and it came with a generous amount of meat. My mom ordered bún cá and really enjoyed her meal. Each soup-based dish came with a plate of fresh vegetables. I ordered the grilled specialty platter. It was a lot of food, but everything was delicious. I also tried the salted iced coffee, which was just okay. They accept cash or debit only. Service was quick and efficient, and we were served tea as soon as we were seated. I highly recommend An Ngon Vietnamese Cuisine.

The spring rolls were crispy, large, but lacked a bit of taste compared with other restaurants. Overall, both dishes were good as well as the service. I would return to try Pho next time.
