One of the best vegan/vegetarian restaurants I've had! My friend and I came here twice. My favourites were the sweet and sour mushrooms with vegetables and the crispy fried rice. The portions were huge, everything was flavourful, and the service was efficient and nice.

We stopped in for lunch on a Friday m. The place shares a space with a Thai restaurant, so you just have to say you're there for the veggie Chinese place. They have lunch specials that include a choice of main, a soup, a side, and vegetables (bok choy). My wife got the ma po tofu ($17.95) and I got the spicy fried bean curd ($16.95). We also got some BBQ lion's mane mushroom skewers. Everything was delicious other than the weird slimy seaweed that was part of the side dish. The mains were excellent, well-flavoured and well-portioned, and the skewers were beautifully spiced and had great texture. Overall, very good food, reasonably priced, and solid service. Recommended.

The staff were friendly and around when you needed them. The place was cute but the food was MAGIC! We got the carrot dumplings and they were so good I didn't even remember to take a photo The star was the king oyster mushroom wraps though. WOW! Picture those crispy duck wraps at dinner sum but mushroom. Such nice flavours and textures!

I sadly didn't find this as good as most lists or reviews say it is and I am pretty easy going. Got quite a few items for takeout, a pad Thai dish, sweet/sour soup, the skewers and the tea mushroom... Tea mushroom was pretty spicy and kinda annoying to either chew on or pick through all the chillies...flavour just felt like a ton of garam masala..big miss for me. Same with the rest of the dishes Sadly won't be back but happy I got to try. I did pick up so didn't sit but restaurant is nice inside and was easy to order over the phone

One of the best meals I've had during my five day visit to Toronto. I only wish I had found them earlier so I could come back again! Service was fantastic and the food was just amazing. The place is clean and has a great vibe.

I've been a long time Yelp user, but have never felt compelled to write a review until today. We visited Toronto for the weekend and loved Vege Delight so much we went twice during the weekend (and skipped another restaurant we had planned to try). The best vegetarian Chinese food we've ever had and we've been vegetarian for decades. Note it's a mushroom centric restaurant and many dishes creatively use mushrooms to achieve different textures and flavors. During our first visit, we got the crispy shiitake mushroom with orange shreds (incredible), BBQ lion's mane mushroom skewers (so crisp and flavorful), lotus root dumplings (very good), and sixi veggie balls (so good our kids ate almost all of it and my husband and I had to share remaining scraps). During the second visit, we reordered the mushroom skewers, and ordered the Chongqing boiled veggie fillet in chili oil (possibly our favorite dish at the restaurant but it's so hard to choose), king oyster mushroom pancake (very good but we've had better Peking duck-esq dishes using vegan meat instead of mushrooms), and noodles in wild mushroom soup (incredibly flavorful but not too salty and not at all oily so I even drank all the soup, which I never do with noodle soups). The service was friendly, prompt, and the ambiance was nice (we went for an early lunch both days and it wasn't crowded or loud). We're already planning another trip back to Toronto so we can go back to Vege Delight.

Mushroom-based vegetarian food. The food is not salty, not full of MSG. Fun items including Peking duck, cold Sichuan noodles, Thai fried rice. Food is a mix of different cuisines. Our servers were two earnest girls. Food was 4/5 service 5/5. Price was reasonable.

What a delight! We went on Saturday to kickoff our weekend and we were pleasantly impressed. The foods are extremely delicious with the best flavors. We were in awe with the mushroom skewers I forgot they were not meat. The assorted vegetables on the crispy rice were sooo good and I helped my partner finish up her noodles too. I gotta say everything we tried was wonderful and we were considering buying their ingredients if we were heading home. Service was quick and the place has lots of seating options which we felt comfortable during our time. If you're vegetarian you must check this place out and you'll love it. We will definitely eat there again in the future!

Got my number to wait for and within 5 minutes I was on my way. Good service. However my first thing I tried after I got back to my hotel I ate the wings. Holy sodium. Almost like eating straight salt. The wings were way too salty even before dipping them in the Frank's wing sauce. Almost inedible salty for me. Minus two stars for that. The Asian Fusion bowl wasn't as salty, but still pretty strong bit of sodium. The veggies were tasty, my protein choice which was tempeh which was cooked and seasoned well. Overall not bad, but maybe let natural flavors come out in the food instead of turning towards tons of salt.

A disclaimer that I've only tried their noodle dishes and not the sushi (I do like my seafood haha), but these are fantastic - rich in flavour without being overwhelmed with salt and sugar (the typical fallbacks for vegan food). Highly recommend the truffle fried rice and the Singapore noodles! The fact that the food seems to be relatively healthy (at least psychologically...) is of course a plus as well. The interior is fairly upscale, the dim lighting and elegant decor contributing to a muted but lovely ambiance. I do love a place that allows you to have a conversation at normal volumes! We made a reservation (highly recommended) which they were able to pull up since we got there 30 minutes early and starving. We started off with their delicious Bang Bang Broccoli and Kimchi Chick'n Baus, both of which I'd easily come back for more if this was a buffet line. The bang bang sauce was absolutely sensational and we dipped our tasty baos in it afterwards. For our mains, we divided up their Volcano Roll, Kelp Caesar Salad, and a Hawaiian Pizza. The roll was alright (I've had better at vegan sushi restaurants) but the salad and pizza were both extraordinary. In particular, the salad sent me and was a complete flavor and texture bomb. Highly recommend everyone getting this to share as it was an absolute standout. As much as we wanted room for dessert, our hunger was just too much from not eating all day. Toronto Review 4/Many: I went to this excellent Lanzhou spot with another person as one of my…read moreearlier meals. Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.
