One of my go-to options when I'm on campus & hungry! I always get the cold sesame noodles, they're deliciously tangy and have a nice lingering spice that makes me want to eat more. The other noodle dishes I've tried from here have been consistently good as well. They let you select what noodle thickness you like, and I think the thick flat noodles were too big for me, I was making a fool out of myself trying to slurp them all up ! It is definitely a great soup with tender sliced beef and flavorful broth. Noodles were perfect. I opted for the egg which was a seasoned fully cooked egg. We also had the stirfried beef noodle dish. Felt very authentic to these sorts of hand pulled noodle shops, though, and that held up as I entered. Inside, there was plenty of seating laid out in booths and a few tables in the middle, with just a few bar seats. The ambiance was on par with good Japanese ramen restaurants, so you can tell there was a lot of care taken in the presentation, in the lighting, the materials chosen. The wood grains were very inviting, and the brass light fixtures on the ceiling were mysterious and organic to match. The service was great and helped me read 牛肉炸酱面 niúròu zhàjiàngmiàn because I couldn't read the last three characters but it's also good to hear the waitress speaking Chinese. The jasmine green tea was serviceable. Despite my illiteracy, I didn't end up ordering the 炸酱面 zhàjiàngmiàn, I went with their flagship 牛肉面 niúròumiàn, or a variant of it, the 牧蘭典藏牛肉麵 mùlán diǎncáng niúròu miàn. It was fantastic. The noodles were perfectly QQ and the soup was well balanced. I drank it down to the last drop. Embarrass- and astonishingly, the soup came out in less time than it would take me to make instant noodles. This place is going to be hard to beat today. Well worth it. read more

If I had to pick between the two, I would say it would depend. It's all good! I also really loved the ambiance here. The Moolan bowl was light and peppery, and the meat was delicate and tender. The braised beef bowl was heartier, rich, and savory, and the beef meat was thick and moist. Everything was so delicious and flavorful except the chicken wings were kind of basic and small. Would probably skip next time. But they tasted fine. Everything came out quickly and was nice and hot! The lamb skewers had that perfectly seasoned cumin flavor and was pretty tender. The braised beef noodle soup had a yummy (a little bit salty) broth, tender beef, and the noodles were so yummy and definitely tasted handmade. We also added their spiced egg to our soup, and the egg was so good! Should've gotten 2... The fish bun desserts were nice and fresh from the fryer. They were filled with red bean, also tasty. This restaurant has been on my bookmarks list ever since I tried their food as part of a Yelp event, and so naturally thought of it when a craving for noodles came on. Although prices did increase as expected compared to the past, I'm happy to report no simultaneous shrinkflation or quality decline. Their bowls of steaming, flavourful soups and chewy, perfectly cooked noodles are as huge and delicious as I remembered. Another pleasant surprise was that the service has not backslid at all either. The waitress was conversational and welcoming (disclaimer that the place was not extremely busy when we were there), patiently explaining the different noodle types, efficiently bringing us water without being asked, and generally making our experience there very enjoyable.
