A small noodle spot that gets quite busy during dinner time. We came around 9:45 on a Friday night and we waited about 10 mins for a table. It was still busy when we arrived but most people started leaving shortly after. We got the braised beef brisket noodles (one size) with extremely wide noodles and a small special Lanzhou beef noodles with medium wide noodles mild spice. The spice is no joke! Even our friend who can deal with spice pretty well considered this place to be spicy, mainly because the spice level includes numbing. Cross posting since I think my fellow yelpers would appreciate this more:) Have been here many times for years but i noticed that the waitresses are all different from before and the service is so bad now. I noticed a strand of thin hair inside my water cup -- it was clearly hair. When I brought it to the attention of one of the waitresses, the old lady abruptly raised her voice and insisted, "It's lemon." She was so loud and everyone in the store was looking at me. I was genuinely surprised by her reaction and asked, "Do lemons grow long hair? Can u take another look and give me a new cup of water?" She responded firmly, "If I say it's lemon, then it's lemon!!!!" Fortunately, a younger staff member came over, took a quick look, apologized right away, and removed the cup. However, I could still hear the older woman in the background repeatedly insisting it was just lemon. Tbh, let's put it aside the fact that there is hair in my water, the service after they see the hair and still manage to go ahead with loud lies makes me very disappointed. Good food gets customers in ur store, good service will have them comeback again and again. But I doubt I will come back again until they train their staff:) The situation was handled unprofessionally at first, though I appreciated the younger staff member's prompt response. The place was packed when we went at 7 pm, the service is great, there is one guy taking care of what looks like the whole restaurant, and he was on point! There was a food runner working with him, and they were absolutely fantastic with the orders and the food can quite fast. The apps were quite small, but to be honest this has to be the best deal for soup in town. I don't know another place that serves food from a bowl that I could fit into as a child if I wanted to sit inside of it. The noodles I wish were a little chewier, but the broth was well flavoured. This place has amazing noodles. The lemon water definitely had lemon not hair so I don't know if it looked the same. The beef tendon was soft and flavourful. The broth was so good the only thing was it was spicy I wish they would have warned me but I also have a low spice tolerance. The whole meal was warm and comforting. The service was fast enough and our server was nothing special. I ordered the Spicy braised beef, the soup base tasted good, I've had better, the noodles were cooked perfectly, nice and fresh, but my main issue was with the braised beef, it honestly tasted like the beef was previously frozen or at least some bits tasted like it, i understand that there is a bit of fat that is served with this, i always take it out, but man, there was mostly fat and very little beef, the serving was large overall, but again very little beef. if you love beef fat, and i know there are many, this soup for you, if i ever order from this place again, i will stick to the sliced beef soups. Tucked away at the north east corner of Edward St and Bay St is GB Noodles. The restaurant has adapted during covid19 with their patio area, which is an extension on the sidewalk and not dangerously on the street (like some other restaurants). Takeout seems to be the popular choice and the ordering counter is now right at the door. Ordering is fast and efficient. I understand that the noodles are the star of the show, but I wish there were more topping options. I pretty much saw either minced pork or slices of beef. Also some veggies (like bok choy) would be a nice addition. There's a wide variety of noodle thickness and I went for an order of thick and thin. I agree with some reviewers that thick noodles give it a bit more texture and chewiness. But I prefer the thin noodles. The soup is clear and generally is smooth tasting, with a bite as a finish - an acquired taste. Overall, not bad and I did appreciate the noodles. We stopped by recently while visiting Toronto. We were craving some noodles and GB definitely hit the spot. It was a beautiful day, so we grabbed a seat outside. Our service was great throughout our visit. We chose a beef noodle dish and cold Dan Dan noodles. The wait wasn't long and our food came out quick. Both dishes looked great. Covid delivery review! First off GB Hand pulled noodles is my favourite dine-in soup go to. Easily 5/5. The delivery experience though not as good is still great to try. The beef noodle soup came separate and you had to mix it together. Disappointed I had no choice of the type of noodle I wanted. Tasted just like the dine in experience however. Just ensure you get fast delivery so you can eat it hot! I also got the roasted pork ribs. Didn't really seem "roasted" but tasted good regardless and got a big portion size which I was happy about. Soups are hard to get perfect via delivery, however GB Hand Pulled noodles comes close. I'd recommend the beef noodle soup if you are reading this. read more

Noodles are hand pulled in store, and you can choose the lenght/thickness or style you wanted your noodles to be. We opted for the round thin noodles. The broth is nice and light but it still has body. You can really taste the beefiness. The parsley and green onion help cut through the rich soup. One of my favourite things here actually was not part of the noodle itself. But rather it was the chilli oil. The chilli oil was delicious and I probably finished half of the container by myself. If loud noises will make you uncomfortable, then get yours to go. I chose the regular "Special Lanzhou Beef Noodles" in the "large" size with my noodles as narrow. Yes, you get to choose from super thin to narrow to thick, flat, medium wide and extremely wide. I enjoyed mine and would like to try the super thin next time. The soup was delicious with a rich broth and the noodles were delicious. Not spicy at all, I added a good sized spoon of chili paste from the condiments at my seat and that kicked up the flavor. For starters, there was a line out the door when I strolled in one Saturday for lunch with friends. We were eventually seated, though I found the tables quite packed together - they really maximized the space....to the detriment of comfort. The food makes up for it - I tried the thick beef noodles and they were some of the best I've had. Plus, you can even see your noodles getting pulled and freshly cooked. We chose narrow thick noodles for both bowls, the waiter suggested to choose this for the dry noodles we ordered. The tomato and scrambled eggs are sweet-ish, and quite refreshing when mixed with the cucumbers in the noodle bowl. Lanzhou Beef Noodles are yummy!! The broth is simple and clean. It comes with a few slices of white radish. Spicy cucumbers were good, they're basically doused in the same chili oil that they give provide on the table.
