    Spicy Sansho Basic Ramen
    Jamaal M.

A good ramen option if you've got a craving + already in the area. Prices are on par with other ramen joints (~$19+/bowl) I tried their Spicy Sansho Basic bowl and overall enjoyed it. Wouldn't say it's a top 5 spot on the GTA but most likely in my top 10. I went in the evening (off-peak) and found the broth a little watery but overall enjoyed the meal. The texture of the noodles was perfect for me. I think this particular flavour has a bit of that 'numbing' spice in it which is not my personal preference so I'm going to try something else next time as I'm curious to try their Gold Miso as well. Would only recommend if you work in the area or have a long wait before your next train or concert. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for it.

Best location ever in the CIBC food court. My colleague is a HUGE ramen lover and he comes here once a week. The staff is extremely friendly and nice, I got to know the owner and the staff over time as we come to this food court often. They make everything made to order and the portions are the same whether you dine in or take out, all the noodles are pre-portioned. I've ordered ramen for dine in and to go, the quality is top notch and very fresh. Their karage was bomb and the chicken was very juicy. In July we noticed they did a collaboration on onigiri and y'all know your girl is hooked on that stuff. My colleagues and I tried the fish roe & salmon, spicy salmon and eel onigiri with a free miso soup. Love the variety that they're offering. We come back here all the time so....hurry up and visit so you don't get fomo!

This is located inside the CIBC square Table food court. Take the elevator in order to access this food court. My friend and I got the spicy beef ramen. The portion was large enough for two of us to share and the price was reasonable for the size. The taste was okay, not as much as I like. I appreciate that they have a lot of options, including rice dishes with different toppings, vegetarian options, and different protein choices at different price ranges. Some of their deluxe ramens are very large and can be shared among two people. There is limited bar seating at this stall but there is a lot of room in the food court where you can eat. The person who served me was very kind and polite and gave us an extra set of bowl and chopsticks.

First to review! New food hall in CIBC Square (all the way at the top). Couple of options in there ranging from thai, burgers, cocktail bar and ramen (here). Lots of people here given it's in the PATH. I've been to their Markham location before and wasn't really that impressed however this one was pretty good. Got the Silver Shio Cha Shu Ramen. If you're hungry, this is the place to get your ramen fix. The portions are absolutely massive. Really big pieces of cha shu, lots of minced pork, bean sprouts and noodles. I thought the broth was ok. It gets really thick just cause there's so many things in the bowl that kind of make it so it doesn't feel like you're just tasting broth (if that makes sense). Cha shu was the star of the show for me, with everything else being average. Prices are definitely not cheap ~$20 for a bowl but portions are huge so I get it. Kind of far from my office but if you're super hungry, you'll definitely be satisfied here.

Wife had the spicy version. She says it's not that spicy but still good enough to repeat. Decent portion.

We walked in at around ~7 pm on a Saturday and it was looking busy - however, we were seated pretty quickly given there was only 2 of us. Lots of seating inside for different groups, and I appreciate how there was some bar seating that accommodated single patrons. We ordered takoyaki and 2 ramen - I had the regular Tori Paitan while my partner had the God Fire (level 2). You had the option to customize your bowl from beginning to end - from softness of the noodles, saltiness of the broth, extra toppings - this place really reminded me of the local ramen spots we went to when we were in Japan. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the food came out quick!! Takoyaki was delicious and piping hot. The broth for both ramen came out very flavourful and I will say - while my partner loves spicy food and I do not... I cannot imagine what level 4 would taste like, level 2 definitely had a kick! The staff were amazing and navigated a small space so well. We really enjoyed our dinner - we were in and out within an hour. I'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend!

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

I've…read morebeen disappointed by countless bowls over the years, from Michelin-recommended shops in New York to overhyped social media darlings that make you wonder whether the people promoting them have ever had truly great tonkotsu ramen. Konjiki is good, far from great, but very solid. The broth has the right consistency with a satisfying richness, falling just a touch short of the deep, creamy intensity I personally look for. The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining just the right amount of bite. Nothing ruins a bowl of ramen faster than overcooked noodles. The soft-boiled egg was equally well executed, with a perfectly jammy center, and the chashu had excellent flavor and texture. My biggest criticism isn't what's missing....it's what's added. Like many ramen shops outside Japan, Konjiki includes pickled ginger, pickled takana, and braised bamboo shoots. For me, none of them improve the bowl. In fact, I think they distract from what should be the star of the show: the broth. In hindsight, I could have easily asked for them to be left out, but I've never really understood why they're included in the first place. Even so, this is a very respectable bowl of tonkotsu ramen and one I'd happily order again.

Initially looked busy and thought there may be a wait, but the line was actually for the dessert place that shares the same entrance. I usually switch up my order between the Clam Ramens (shio and shoyu). Can definitely say that these are always made consistent (at least on every visit I've had), so there's no surprise. My friend ordered the Avocado Vegetarian Ramen as part of a set. We were both intrigued by the taste of the broth. It was creamy, but not super thick, and had a fresh, vegetal taste. One miss this time was that my friend ordered a drink, but unfortunately it did not come out at all while we ate. We mentioned it when asking for our bill and asked that it just be cancelled, which the server was apologetic about. Soon after we sat down, the restaurant filled up with other patrons which is a good sign. However I also judge a restaurant based on its cleanliness and the washrooms leave much to be desired. If a restaurant's washrooms aren't clean, it gives you a window into how dirty the kitchen and back of house are. The washrooms are in a serious need of a cleaning. There is black filth on the white doors, everything has a bit of a grime covering multiple surfaces. Overall, the food is delicious, I would return but maybe for take-out next time.
