The dining experience we had here was perfect. Food and service were both excellent. You can't go wrong with the Miso Black, which many of us ordered. I personally tried the Tomato ramen for something different. The dish was great. It was not as sour as I thought it would be, and it came out tangy and flavourful. What we all enjoyed was the mushrooms in the ramen. It was sweet, chewy with a juicy burst upon biting. I love the level of hospitality and service we got from our servers. They ensured we were properly seated along with the toddler and infant we have in the group. They also duly poured and refilled our water whenever required. I have had only generally positive experiences from Sansotei Raman (other branch being Scarborough Town Centre).
Came here on a workday lunch. Gets busy so try to get on their virtual waitlist before heading out. Ordered the simple set, which comes with Shio ramen, bamboo shoot, green onion + chashu don for a whopping $12. Although the shio ramen isn't the full scale one with all the chashu, it comes with a chashu don on the side. This is my go-to meal where I want a guaranteed food coma for cheap. For $12 the value here is just incredible. Shio ramen is well done, noodles nice and chewy, broth is decent. Chashu don is really good as well, huge portions, tons on chashu and delicious. Come here just for the Simple Set!
Food: 4.5 Stars Service: 3.5 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Fill Factor: Filling I have to admit I may have a problem...I love eating ramen a bit too much. I find myself unable to look away everytime I come across a new ramen shop so of course when I found this Sansotei ramen I had to go in. The restaurant itself is not very big so seating is fairly limited especially if you have a larger group. It was very busy when I visited but I managed to get a seat at the counter right in front of the kitchen so I got to see the kitchen staff in action while I waited for my food. I ordered the tonkotsu black ramen and all I can say is it was good. The broth was nice and flavourful without being too salty. The chashu was tender and the egg was nice and creamy. I prefer thick noodles when I have ramen and the noodles here were just right for me. The staff here were friendly and the food did not take very long to arrive after ordering so that is always a plus in my books. All in all, I enjoyed the ramen here immensely which adds to my dilemma of which ramen restaurant to choose when I am downtown. Sansotei is definitely up there near the top of the list for me.
The shop is located in a convenient location and on an early Saturday, it was not busy and the staff are friendly. However, the ramen themselves are not great. We had two - tonkotsu and tomato based. Both are very watered down, making the soup based is quite tasteless. The noodles are also blend and don't have much texture to it.
Came here twice in a week for dinner given close proximity to the hotel I was staying at. Unlike some of the other ramen places around town, this one has a concentrated/limited menu. Beer/sake is also offered, as well as some starters/sides, and a couple cheesecakes for dessert. The ramen broth is rich without being too salty, the noodles cooked perfectly, and the toppings generous. You also have an option of thin vs thick noodles. The servers were sweet and helpful.
A solid 4! Not the greatest Ramen, but it's good! We haven't been able to find Ramen that's as good as Hokkaido in Toronto yet, or even Vancouver, but admittedly this has been the best so far. We also tried the Chicken Zangi as our starter and that didn't disappoint either! We always prefer the Zangi to Karaage and this item off the menu just proved our point, at least to ourselves. So on a cold day, hop in, grab a ramen, and enjoy! Staff and service were nice, so thank you! It's got an in & out vibe; not a place to linger, and the quick service just reinforces that model. Enjoy your ramen folks!
Came to this ramen place after our museum and aquarium for lunch. I love the ramen and the soup is delicious. I would recommend it to a friend to come and try. Street parking or garage parking.
My first time at this location and first time tomato ramen. It was... sweet for me. The broth was sweet, and the shiitake mushrooms were also marinated sweet, so all together just way too sweet but others seemed to really like it on Google. Service was super fast- I think I was in and out in 15-20 minutes. It was not so crowded- not a lot of spots to sit on either. There were a lot of take out orders I noticed. Good to have around. A new location everybody! Enjoy!
Another sansotei downtown. Like the other locations, this one is not particular large, but it might be less busy compared to the other ones! Ordered a shoyu ramen. It was alright. Meat was a bit tougher than I would have preferred.
I went to the location inside of Union Station, and was impressed by the elegant, spotless ambiance in the train station food court. It is easily one of the nicest food stalls I have ever seen in a train station! The ramen came out piping hot in only a few minutes--I got the Tonkotsu ramen and the broth was rich and just the perfect amount of salt and flavor. The noodles were springy and just right. Service was prompt and courteous. I will be sure to come back when I'm in Toronto again!
It's been a year since I had ramen. And since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I would pop by Sansotei to check it out. This one on adelaide is somewhat new, and whenever I visited in the past, the ramen shop was always jammed packed. I would leave empty handed and disappointed by the constant lines. Fast forward to a year later, the Pandemic has changed all that. I was able to walk into the shop and ordered my long awaited ramen. I opted for tonkotsu black ramen with thin noodles and less salty soup base. They packed the ingredients separately from the soup so nothing gets soggy on my trip home. The chasu slices were tender and flavourful. There were also eggs, fungus and green onion. Perhaps my favorite- the garlic oil. It was a long awaited reunion between the ramen and my stomach. Phenomenal experience. Craving satisfied. I already know my next trip to Sansotei will be to order their new item on the menu - tonkotsu +.
Sansotei is one of my favourite ramen chains and every time I have a ramen craving, it hits the spot. Their tonkotsu broth is so rich and flavourful. My favourite ramen to get here is the tonkotsu black, will be coming here again next time!

I went here on my first date, so it's like small restaurant. This was delicious and cost with taxes around 19$ but I saw people that had dinner for two and paid 70$ z and were a little bit shocked. But this still good point. read more

This is a very modern looking ramen place I love the decorations and it looked very clean inside the employees were all very friendly I ordered some Robin to go to take to my hotel room which was up the street. They don't have toasted garlic slices for their ramen. I've only had it with slivered garlic in it, so that was a bummer. The ramen itself was just okay the broth had good flavor the noodles I picked were thin and we're al dente but I've definitely had better ramen. read more

I like Sansotei's focused menu. It makes ordering a lot easier. Their ramen are larger in portion compared to other popular ramen spots in the city. I find that their ramen flavour is a lot richer - that may be good or bad depending on your preference. I like their zangi style fried chicken because it's very juicy and flavourful, but I do prefer karaage style better for the crispy crunch. read more

They have a simple menu with the usual suspect Ramen flavours. We have pretty much tried all of them during the lockdown and our recommendation would be the Tonkotsu Black, Miso Black, and Tomato. The broth was rich. The pork belly was sometimes a bit overcooked in our opinion. The Tomato one was a delight. Not sure if it was available at other Ramen shops. The broth has the acidity from the Tomato but it is not like a Tomato soup if that's what you are thinking. The Hokkaido Scallop is really tasty. Their Ramen are pretty standard, nothing really stand out except for the Tomato one, and nothing to disappoint either. Mango Cheesecake is actually the highlight. It's very light with the right amount of Mango favour that does not overpower the cheese flavour. read more
Food: 3 Service: 2 Decor: 2 (uncomfortable seatings) This is the smallest Sansotei ever! Came here with a colleague at around 11:30am , so there was no line up. There were four small tables and some seatings at the bar. We got the table and as soon as we ordered food, people started coming in. People were standing right behind us, so it was very uncomfortable when you have strangers looking over your shoulder along with the cold breeze whenever the door opened. We both ordered the Shoyu ramen, gyoza, green tea and chicken wings. The ramen was flavourful with two thin slices of pork. The gyoza was juicy and the wings were quite spicy. As soon as I put down my chopsticks, the girl came over and dropped off the bill. We literally sat there for 25 minutes and they were trying to kick us out. I'm giving the food 3 stars because we were both very thirsty once we left the restaurant and we had to go buy a drink. The tea (which I didn't know cost money) didn't help at all. read more

The most amazing meal I've had today. I have not had Sansotei in a long time and this was one of the closest ramen from my new work place. It's amazing here. Space, cleanliness, service and most importantly the taste and quality of the food, with the given consideration in terms of portions and price where these days everything is escalating due to shortage in supply chain. read more

Not the best ramen I've ever had, but quite delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the portion size was sufficient. I did find the broth a bit on the salty side so I would go with the less sodium option next time. The flower was a nice touch I guess but was really pointless. I found the pork belly pretty fatty but the flavors were nice. I would definitely recommend the black miso! read more

I'm a big fan of Sansotei and was rather disappointed with this location. Waited for an entire summer for this location's opening but only to discover its mediocre ramen quality and small space. Better to try takeout or come here after work. Avoid lunch rush at all times. Food: I always pick the tomato ramen because of the broth and the big scallop in the ramen. However, the tomato ramen at this location had a broth that tasted watered down and the eggs were cold with a refrigerate taste. The Hokkaido scallop was pretty good and of fairly large size. The scallop was consistent with the other locations. Btw they always give you one per bowl. I requested for the thick noodles because they were more chewy in texture but got the thin noodles. I asked the server to double check and they still came back with thin noodles. My friends ordered the spicy tan tan, tonkotsu, and tonkotsu black. Tonkotsu black is essentially tonkotsu but with more garlic oil and a saltier taste. All were ordered with thick noodles and actually came with thick noodles. If I were to return, I would order the tonkotsu ramen. Their prices are the same as the other locations and can be viewed on their website. Space: Area is not big, which is usually the case for many Japanese restaurants. For this one in particular, not sure why they decided to place a gigantic reception desk at the front instead of optimizing that space for more dining space. On the left side (side closest to Victoria St), are tables for couples and on the right side are the high bar-like tables. We came in a group of 4 around 11:50 and waited another 20min for two tables of two seaters each to be available. They don't take reservations, which is typical of many Japanese restaurants. If you decide to come here with a group of 4+, better to try for take out instead. read more
Have been to several different Sansotei locations, I know that they ALWAYS have tiny tiny place for people to eat in, and always a long line, but sometimes its just frustrating especially for lunch hours. New sansotei at Adelaide Victoria intersection has been having the opening soon sigh for months and we were all very excited because it seems like a huge place from outside. The date it was opened we came in, and its just shocking because they put a HUGE (seriously I mean HUGE) reception area in the centre and there is like 3 tables to fit groups, they are basically wasting the entire store location to just have a useless reception area.... I am more than confused about the floor plan and the fact that we had 6 people and have to wait for like 20-30 min for 2 tables its just absurd. It tastes very good, just like the other Sansotei, I ordered my fav black garlic ramen, and I am satisfied with the quality. Their version of karaage is not drenched in flour, it is, no where near crispy which is actually very good in my opinion. They closes VERY VERY early every day so I assume they only serve lunch or early dinner, but if you are in financial district where everyone's paste is overwhelming, having to wait for 30 mins for a seat is not very nice isn't it? read more

This is the best ramen I have ever had, and my sample size is well into the double digits. I was visiting Toronto for a wedding in January and when I landed it was 0 degrees outside, so my instinct was to seek out some warm food. I love my Japanese food, but stumbling on this place was another level. The walk from the hotel was frigid, as I was not expecting it in the first place. My map app showed a location in the train station by the CN Tower but it was closed for renovations, my dad and I walked several cold blocks to this location and it was 110% worth it. We both got the Tonkotsu Black and I got the slow cooked wings which were fall off the bone good. The ramen broth was the absolute pinnacle of flavor, and the server was so incredIbly kind and friendly. My dads first ramen experience was very memorable and I am sad this restaurant doesn't have any locations within 400 miles of me read more
I went there on their soft opening promotion with 50% off on their Ramen. Although the place is small, but they emphasize it's focus on take out orders. Other than that everything was great. Their ramen portion is similarly to portions that you will find at any other Ramen restaurants. I tried their Black Miso Ramen and it was delicious. I also tried their Shoyu and also taste good as well. Yes, I was hungry and I had two bowls. Finally, the staff greeted us kindly and their service was excellent. read more

Food was okay but service was sloppy at the new Adelaide location. 2 people were ahead of our party of 4, all waiting for a table. There was an empty table for 4 people available at the time. The server advised the 2 people ahead of us to wait approx.. 5-10 for 2 seats at the bar. The pair pointed at the 4-person table. The server then explained that there were 4 of us so we should be seated at that table. The pair made a mild complaint that they arrived first. The server consulted with another staff and then proceeded to separate the 4-person table into 2 small tables, 2 seats each. Then asked the 4 of us to wait for bar seats. Poor poor decision. It does not matter that the 2 people arrived first. The staff has to consider the party size. By splitting the 2 tables, she created a huge backlog at the entrance, with a 2-seater remaining empty for quite some time as the rest of us had to wait for bar seats. It makes sense to seat people according to the party size, bigger parties at the table and smaller parties at the bar. To top that off, the server spilled leftover soup on my winter coat. Luckily it was turned inside out but the oil stain remains after I spot cleaned it with detergent and a sponge. I will have to take it to the dry cleaner's. The manager did give our meal a 30% discount but it seems that there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out. read more
