This place is 10/10 for its service. I went here with my parents and they are vegan. The chef happily accepted all the customizations I requested. For that matter boiling the egg free noodles in separate vessel as well. The service was fast. Food was yum. Very flavorful. The place was super clean and we got a seat quickly. Must go!

Obsessed. This was the best meal we had in Toronto. I love that you get to grind up your own sesame seeds, they add a ton of flavor. It gets busy; we were the second group in line before open on a Monday and by the time they opened there were maybe 10 groups in line!

We revisited this restaurant recently and the ramen is still top notch. The Chicken Karaage was delicious and the Red Dragon Ramen was good. Perhaps not as much a favorite as the Spicy Red Miso but good. Another. Toronto favorite.

I came across Ramen Isshin on my way back to my hotel. The restaurant has a very Japanese ramen place aesthetic, but without the counter separators. I ordered the Tako Wasabi. I personally loved it; the wasabi greatly enhanced the fresh octopus. For the main dish, I ordered the Black Sesame Tan Tan noodles. The broth was great and flavorful. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The ramen had wok-fried pork, chives, and pork belly cha siu, which just brought everything together; it was amazing. The service was fast, and I received my ramen and appetizer quickly. I would come back again.

Pretty good ramen spot. I ordered the kotteri rich shoyu, age tofu, kaarage, takoyaki and tako wasabi. Age tofu was delicious, crispy outside and fluffy inside with a nice sauce topping. Karaage and Takoyaki was decent, came out piping hot, and the tako wasabi was underwhelming; I couldn't taste any hints of wasabi. My ramen was delicious, but near 1/3 of the bowl I did find it too heavy. Will definitely come back again to try their light version.

First time here, three for lunch after 1 pm on a Wednesday. Place more than half full, a very good sign. Simple interior, clean and smells great. All portions very large, flavorful and fresh. Attentive service. Relatively easy to find GreenP street parking close by. Liked it, will return.

Yo! I went here with my hb and got the red miso, honestly I don't like it but hey! I'm single and all please if anyone sees this I'm available.

I've eaten here several times and the ramen has always been delicious. I got the stone bowl tsukemen recently and it was delicious. They also give you a decent amount of protein which isn't always the case at many other ramen places. Personally I did fine the broth to be on the saltier side but I also understand that it's a tsukemen ramen. Service was good and the place was pretty small and cute.

    Mild ramen and eggs

Best f-ing ramen, broth and meat I've ever had. Servers were awesome. A bit loud in there which was a bit much for me personally, but I'd do it all again for the food.

An excellent ramen spot for a cold winter day. The broth for both was delicious, though I have to say the non vegetarian broth was certainly more rich and flavoursome. The noodles were great, perfectly chewy and bouncy. All in all a good spot. Service was very fast, we received our bowls about 2 minutes after ordering.

Hiya Yakko is a must get.

When my friend, a local Torontian, highly recommended Ramen Isshin, you can be sure Hubby and I were definitely going to take their advice and we are so glad we did. The food, service, and the atmosphere were top-notch as Isshin Ramen is a great place to get a delicious and authentic ramen experience. We started off with a shared plate of Hiya Yakko, which is cold tofu smothered with their secret freshly made chili oil, with green onions and bamboo shoots delicately layered on top. It was a refreshing and flavorful start to the meal. For our main entrees, I ordered the Isshin Red Miso ramen which set the food mood as it had a wonderful aroma. The thick and wavy noodles were perfect as the ground tofu and wood ear mushrooms were able to intermingle with the noodle's waves nicely. The depth and dimensions were outstanding. My Hubby had the Vegetarian Roasted Garlic Shoyu which my Hubby declared was delicious, with two varieties of mushrooms: shiitake and button. Both our noodles had the perfect bounce and the soups were rich, we quaffed all of it. We concluded our meal with Kakigori Hochi Cha. Our shaved ice was very different from the Korean Bingsu we were accustomed to, as we found this to be more refreshing. The Japanese Kakigori is ice based and made from water. The ice had been grounded down to flakes and then the sweet milky Hochi cha was adorned on top of the ice flakes. Beyond sublime! It was a seasonal special so always ask what their seasonal desserts are and save room for them. My only suggestion is for the servers to take away the trays, as the tables are a bit tight. This is a minor suggestion, but didn't detract from my overall experience. Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5

I ordered the spicy red miso ramen with the thick noodles. I like how many veggies it came with, but it lacked spice and it was on the expensive side of ramen. Service here is always really nice and it came get loud during lunch.

This is a pretty good spot for ramen in Toronto. Although it was quite busy when my friend and I arrived, the staff tried their best to get us seated. I tried the Chicken Shio Ramen, which had a rich and creamy broth, as well as a side of sesame seeds you can crush and add to your bowl to amp up the flavour. Their Takoyaki was good, though not the best I've had.

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

Reach ten stamps and you get a free bowl of ramen. - The chashu is excellent! My rating is 4.5 stars. I'm rounding down. Last Tuesday, I had my monthly 7 am meeting with a bunch of technical writing peers from around the world. It's quite the meeting that typically lasts for four hours. Luckily, we ended earlier than usual. It meant that my workday ended at around 3:30 pm. It was perfect, as I had a concert to attend several hours later. Normally, I don't do dinner before a concert. I grab a quick bite to each before I head downtown. This time, since I was done work early, I felt that having an early dinner was worthwhile. I drove downtown and parked in a lot that seems to be my usual spot whenever I'm attending a concert at Massey Hall. My original plan was to find an eatery close to the concert venue. I spotted Hokkaido Ramen Santouka steps away. I wanted ramen! I walked in and there was a sign that said to wait. I had no wait time. A woman and the entire staff greeted me. I asked for a table for me and got one. It was great. Seating between tables and diners is close together. You definitely overhear conversations and you can't help it. The man next to me had stretched his foot under my table. I didn't notice that he was in my space until I uncrossed my leg and my foot hit his. I listened to two friends next to me. The man seemed to take charge over what he and his female friend should eat, which was interesting. He gave the impression that he was an expert until the server came over and he had a ton of questions. It's always fun being an observer and listener. I had no choice but to listen to her dating experiences. I got a menu. I knew what I wanted. My server came over and was ready to take my order. I got these items: - Diet Coke - Miso chachu ramen, with bamboo shoot held - Jammy egg and corn as extra toppings The menu doesn't tell you what ingredients you get in each type of ramen. However, it does come with a photo. I asked how large a large bowl of ramen was. My server was great pointing up to a display of three bowls. I went large. The photo indicated that my miso ramen had bamboo shoots. I'm not a fan of them, so I asked that they be omitted. I also added a jammy egg and corn. I got a cold can of Diet Coke. A frosted glass with ice accompanied it. I was happy. I love an icy cold drink. This one was excellent. I loved that it was extra cold. My bowl of ramen had arrived. I was excited to dive in. My miso chachu ramen was delicious. The miso flavour was on point. I drank most of the broth, which speaks volumes on how yummy it was. The chachu was tender and had the best balance of pork and fattiness. The number of slices was generous. The ramen was chewy and perfectly done. I loved the corn and jammy egg. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed my ramen without these two key toppings. They worked nicely with the green onions. What prevents me from giving this place a perfect rating is flagging a server to get me water, or to frankly flag any staffer for something, such as ordering dessert or getting the bill. It took effort and hand-waving to get their attention. It took two tries to get a glass of water with ice. I was happy when I got some after I had finished my Diet Coke. It was equally as cold and yummy. I ordered dessert. The menu is stuck on each table. I asked what ice cream flavours were available. There were two flavours and I went with matcha. It was rich, creamy, and full of strong matcha flavour. The scoop of ice cream was generous. I loved the small spoon, which allowed this dessert to last a lot longer. I asked for the bill. I got a payment machine. I used my credit card to pay and tip. All was great. I used the washroom before I headed over to explore the downtown area. The washrooms are downstairs. It's an older building, so accessibility is an issue. There are two single-stall washrooms. The one that I used was clean. Because it's an older building, the ceiling is low. I am just shy of six feet in height. I made it without hitting my head on the ceiling. If you are six feet and taller, you'll need to duck to make sure you don't bang your head. Staff say goodbye to you when you leave. It was a nice touch, although I don't know what they are saying to me in Japanese. They could be swearing at me and I wouldn't know. I had a wonderful experience here. If you don't mind sitting close to folks and waving your arms like a maniac to get your server's attention, come here. This ramen joint appeared as a Michelin place in 2017. I can see why. The food quality is excellent. (200)
