I've had ramen at other establishments but this was my very first time here. My friend was craving something to warm the soul and they have great reviews. My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure. read more

Our second time eating at this location, and this time I tried the spice level 3 of the spicy chashu ramen. The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations. read more

The restaurant was very clean and super friendly service from the staff! My friends and I ordered the takoyaki to share, which was pretty good. It came out piping hot and sauces were really good. The drop in 1 star came down to the ramen. Although very delicious in broth flavor, the char su was on the blander side. I wish the protein had more flavor because when you think of char su pork, you're thinking of that sweet flavor that I did not get. read more

Not particularly fond of its location: less desirable area in Oshawa and paid street parking etc Friendly service and lots of options on the menu...had a hard time deciding on what to order so we got a few items: Tonkotsu King ramen, Agedashi tofu, Gyudon, and side order of Tonkatsu for the 3 of us. Had some rice and tonkatsu left to take home with us to enjoy again! Tasty food and enjoyed the authenticity of Japanese food...loved in Japan as a child and miss the food! Will definitely return the next time we are in the area! read more

We stopped by this place for dinner on a Sunday night, and there were full tables- this was the first good sign of a great restaurant! We were greeted very warmly and seated immediately. We ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu and creamy vegetarian ramen. Both were super delicious and we devoured this very quickly. The service was excellent and food even more delicious. We are definitely returning back! read more

The ramen here is very very good! I no longer have to go outside the Durham region to get authentic ramen. The noodles are fresh and the milky bone broth is delicious, along with the pork BBQ charsiu. Additionally we loved the takoyaki with servings of green or barley tea (iced/hot). The staff are very friendly, & the ambiance is typical for Ramen restaurant. This is a hidden gem, it's now our default ramen place so we'll definitely come again in the future. read more

This is the only ramen place in Oshawa, and after living in Toronto for most of my life, I needed ramen. Long story short, everything is OK. The flavors aren't quite as good as ramen I've had from konjiki, sansotei, kinton, etc. But it satisfied my craving. I could taste the soy sauce in my shoyu, but the broth lacked a rich, complexity I expected, and the noodles weren't as chewy as I like. The takoyaki was undercooked. The inside layer of batter was almost liquid. And there were no bonito flakes. The gyoza was not as crispy on the outside as it looked. The sauce that was served on the side was lacking flavor, and if there was supposed to be vinegar in the sauce, I didn't taste it. The filling was OK, but again, not quite what I expected. Overall I wanted to give a 3 or 3.5, but the service was super friendly, so hence the 4. read more

We have enjoyed takeout from here but decided to dine in. The service is great and the restaurant is a lot larger than expected. The ramen itself is fantastic and the fact that you can have different spice level allows you to personalize based on your taste. I've been here twice now and it's by far one of my fave spots to dine at when i'm visiting toronto. They have THE BEST matcha lattes i've ever had: both their hot lattes and the cold blended matcha drinks are my absolute fave! They use a soy milk in it and it tastes so yummy, just like regular milk. Also, the service here is great! They really do their best to accommodate their customers and make sure you have a good experience while dining. If you're looking for a cute date spot, come here :))) read more

Food is the same as I've tried in many different location. But the quantity of the portion of the meal is a lot smaller theses days. The service is okay. They have the online app for menu, but the barcode scan doesn't applied to IPhone 13 or newer. We told the staff about it and she doesn't seem to care. Ambience is ok, honestly no one was there. Pretty empty and dark. read more

Ramen in Oshawa? This is a very new concept for the city. I was pleased when I tried my soup, it was quite good. Although the broth and noodles don't hold up to the ramen spots that I frequent in Toronto, it's still very good. I also like that there are a variety of options on the menu and different types of ramen to choose from, for those who may have never had ramen before. If you're in the area and craving some ramen, this spot will deliver. read more

I've been to the one in Toronto and have ordered takeout twice from this location. On Christmas Eve, we went for dine-in at the restaurant. The service is friendly, very attentive, and made good recommendations. Our food came out quickly with good portions and the largest gyoza I've ever seen. I'll admit I like the miso broth at other ramen places better, but my partner is a fan of their hot ramens. My preference would be for more options with chicken, seafood, or a pork cutlet that work with the broth. One of the staff members is very knowledgeable and conducted an impressive Matcha 101 lesson for one table, with the rest of us listening in. I would recommend checking them out if you're in Durham. read more

I went to the only Ramen restaurant in Durham on June 22. First impression it's a quiet small restaurant but the host/waitress was a very lovely girl! The food it's self was pretty decent I tried salmon onigiri for the first time that day and it taste pretty good although pretty filling by it self I could easily have two of them for a snack or even a meal! I had the Shoyu Ramen as well and it was pretty good although personally the broth could've been a little bit better but it was still very tasty not too salty which I liked. And I got three slices of pork shoulder which were also very good but they could've been a little bit bigger but still very tasty! I would totally go back here if I don't feel like going to Toronto getting Ramen it's great that there's a Ramen place at least 20 minutes from my house now which is awesome read more

Service was very friendly and attentive from the time you walk in, ordering, and getting the bill. This is new location, so no liquor license yet. You will see sake and beer on the menu, but it's the default menu from other locations. I've ordered the spicy tan tan and this comes with minced pork. If you want an egg, there's extra cost. You can select different level of spice. I selected level 2, which is quite spicy. And I can eat spicy. I've tried my husband's tonkatsu, the broth was okay. Nothing to write home about, but the char siu (pork slice) were nicely marinated. The noodle texture was not as good as some other ramen places but overall a good experience! read more

Up to this point I had never tried Ramen noodles, go figure. Well if your going to try something new, might as well go to a place that has a reputation for being really good, this place hit it out of the park!! Situated in downtown Oshawa, this place is adding to the already great selection of restaurants in this area of Durham Service 4/5 We went on a Friday night around 600pm and this place was busy! The server forget to give us menus or even water, but made up for it by being attention and suggestive the rest of the night. Decor 5/5 This place is divided into two sections, it's kinda a weird layout but it works. I love the decor, makes you forget your in Downtown Oshawa. Food 5/5 Wow. I got the King of King Ramen it was amazing. Very flavourful, with a slight hint of spice. The roasted pork shoulder was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back and try the various items. We also had the pork dumpling...yum! All in all this place is worth it if u like Japanese Noodles, I know I will be going back. read more

I was so excited to discover a ramen spot in Durham region. We are truly blessed that it's a Kenzo ramen. The menu is small so they do everything perfect. The pork is so tender, it melts in your mouth. We ordered the spicy charsu ramen spicy level 1 and level 3. My brother finished his level three. It is possible. However if you want to enjoy your meal I recommend level 1. Level 3 has a layer of chili oil covering the surface. The flavors of the broth are amazing. We also ordered gyoza to start. Slightly expensive but delicious. The dining room is very clean, newly renovated, and service is friendly and top notch. I will be recommending this place to my friends. read more

Amazing food! Amazing service. Very pleased and impressed for Oshawa. I've wanted to try ramen for so long just didn't know where to go. This place was the best and I definitely will be coming again. The waiter was very nice and friendly as well. We got Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen and Karashi Ramen. Both with mild spice. Highly recommend these two dishes. I don't recommend the gyoza as it is a very large portion and only one side is crispy. Happy I came here for lunch with my friend!!! read more

First time at this new ramen place. Here on a recommendation from a friend who has visited Japan. He says this is the next best thing to being there. Although the interior looked a little on the fast foody side the serving speed was good and presentation was eye catching. As for taste, this is the best ramen I've had. I will be coming back to try a few other selections that I didn't have room for. read more

Amazing ramen, nice staff, interior design is very nice! Located in a little bit of a weird spot but nonetheless should be easy to find.

I was craving ramen and dumplings and found this place. It's a nice place downtown. The service is great very friendly and helpful. So many choices for noodles both our choices were delicious. Since it opened a few months ago, my friends and I have been here *so* many times - at least once a week. Very hard to believe it's actually a chain restaurant, because it has the feel of a small business. My favorite menu items so far are the Yakisoba and the Tonkatsu, and 5 the gyoza are fantastic. If they do, however, ever offer you a "Japanese poutine", jump on it. They're thinking about adding it to the menu, and I think they should - it was incredible! The wait staff is usually good - although we do have a favorite server - ask for Charm and you won't be disappointed! She's wonderful and sweet, and knows many of us by name. It's such a pleasure to have a meal here. That's why we keep going back! (Only giving 4 stars because it's very very warm in the summer. I'd give 4.5 but I can't.) read more

First time having ramen from a restaurant. Was sort of disappointed , from other reviews I was expecting more flavour. I had the king shoyu ramen , it felt super plain for what I paid for it. I got medium but could not taste much spice at all. Pork was kind of fatty with a distinct taste. They say ramen noodles are made there , however I could not really tell the difference. Could be that Raman is not the thing for me. The gyoza were very flavourful. I will give this place a try again In the near future , possibly something with chicken off the spicy menu. read more
