Best ramen in town. I love the people here. They work hard. I took a hot sake at 15:00 in the afternoon this is the great place to do so

The broth, the seasoning, the ground beef and everything about the ramen was fantastic. Price was right and the service was good also. I definitely recommend

Infamous for ramen. Always crowded. we came here after a fun night of improv. We recieved a warm welcome as we entered the place. I ordered a veggie noodles (picture below). Its super delicious. Bowl was full of noodles and veggies. They also serve cold noodles salad here. Their dessert is made from soy. I will try them next time Place is clean and spacious. Good for groups. Great service.

I still remember the signature cheese ramen when the first Kinton opened on Baldwin Street in Toronto 3 or 4 years ago. Today, we went to the Kinton on Bloor Street in Koreatown, simply because we have recently had too much Korean food...anyway, we ordered 1. Takoyaki Taste ok... not much Octopus in the ball. Time is a bit over such that the shell has a bitter taste. - I miss the best Takoyaki in Isshin Ramen on 421 College Street. 2. Red and white shrimp shoyu ramen, thin noodle This is the special ramen in this store. The chef added salted shrimps in the broth, which I guess they bought them directly at the Korean supermarket P.A.T. across the street...(it has the same taste!) anyway, a really nice combination. 3. Classic Pork Ramen, thick noodle We have been to many ramen restaurants in Toronto. All the broth is very thick and oily, not much pork flavor. For the first time, we taste the authentic pork flavor in the broth at this Kinton. Big thumbs up!!

    Horse meat Sunday special

To end the night with a few bites we stopped in here. Located on the 2nd floor, this small place does pack quite a punch. Their chairs are actually stools but have a cutout at the bottom where you can slide your purse right in - genius! They have daily specials and since we were here on a Sunday it was their premium night specials. The table ordered a few different items- horse meat sashimi, beef carpaccio, chicken skewers and some sort of burger (name I have forgotten). These dishes are more tapas style than a full meal. I had the skewers and the beef carpaccio. They were good but after eating at Nana's earlier in the day...well it just can't compete. The beef wasn't sliced as thin as carpaccio should be and was a bit tough for me. The service was polite but they forgot to bring a few people's green tea and we had to ask twice. It wasn't crowded but it was late Sunday night so maybe this is normal so we ordered and our food came out pretty fast. The ambiance is nice and clean - try finding the doors to the washrooms! And actually I need to mention the washrooms because honestly they were amazing - clean and so beautiful (yeah strange to say a bathroom was beautiful but check it out and you will see why!) Daily specials and cheap beer specials I am sure keep this place full.

Cold ramen special for the summer. The ice cold broth was very nice for 40 degree weather. The sauce had a very light hint of sesame and the chicken breast was good. My boyfriend's ramen was good as well except his had a thicker broth and it was salty. The meat was good and they also had free dessert if you posted on Instagram or Facebook (summer special).

My favorite the fried chicken ramen bowl!

Kinton is a great place to eat and this location is a lot less packed than the others. The atmosphere is great and the decor is very Japanese inspired on the inside. The servers are friendly and I'm a big fan of their ever changing menu items monthly. Although I have seen the giant ramen bowl challenge, I have yet to try it. Maybe sometime in the near future! My favorite is the fried chicken ramen as it has some nice crispy pieces of chicken on top of their delicious ramen broth. This along side any of their well known appetizers is a great meal for any occasion. Overall probably one of my favorite ramen places in Toronto and it's a bonus there are usually no long waits and line ups. The open space and less cramped table seating is a plus as well. I will be coming back to try the giant ramen bowl challenge!

Mega Ramen hot and sour. Meat slices are thick but fatty. Noodles and broth no taste at all.

Came here for mega challenge except that we weren't here for the challenge. One massive bowl of hot and sour Ramen for $35 and if you can finish it in 15 minutes it's free. Since the bowl of noodles was massive and amount of meat generous, friend had an idea to just buy the bowl and share among us three. Was bit disappointed with the ramen thought. First of all the bowl size is the same if we're to order a regular bowl which is between $12 and $14. Only difference is the put lots of noodles and pile lots of meat on top. True there were lots of meat but they were poor quality with lots of fat. Noodles and soup was tasteless, and not much of a broth. Asked for some hot sauce to make it taste better, but they added $1.50 charge to the bill. I've been to this place before. Their regular bowl was so so but mega ramen probably never again.

Crazy awesome good - get the egg in the chicken ramen with thin noodle - also had fried pork dumplings! Kimchi with spicy garlic pork soup for those with fiery taste buds - definitely coming back here every time we come to Toronto! Not a drop left! Homemade lemonade awesome too - keep adding ice water - still good!

Came here on a cold Saturday night for takeout. I was disappointed. By the time I got home to eat it, the noodles were very hard. I even try to boil it and soak it in the hot soup longer. The soup was too thick and I had ask for thinner soup. Overall quite disappointed with my Kinton Ramen takeout. Dining in is better!

This location is probably my favourite location out of all the Kinton Ramens. Recently came here on a Tuesday at around 8pm, the place was still packed. A table for 5 took about 10 minutes. Ordered the Black Tonkatsu Shoyu again. The broth at this location is stronger and more flavourful compared to the one i tried on Baldwin street. The pork is also softer and tastier. Karaage here is a little to crispy but the chicken inside is really juicy. Service was not that great. The waitress looked like she did not want to be here. She was somewhat rude. Besides the service. Overall, this location is better than the others. Ramen here seems more legit and not watered down.

    The Pork Original Ramen
    Kathy L.

Definitely a must go-to if you're ever craving ramen! Upon arriving, we were immediately seated right before the place became packed. The workers were very friendly and the menu was very easy to read. Unlike most ramen places that I've been to, you can choose between thin or thick noodles if ordering ramen. There are many additional toppings to choose from, however, these cost extra. I ordered the Pork Original and just wow, it tasted amazing! The pork wasn't too chewy or too soggy and the noodles had this smooth, silky texture. The broth had the perfect seasoning as well. It was the best ramen I had in a long while. There is also a coat rack near the entrance of the restaurant as some of the seats are stools, making it nearly impossible to hang your coat behind/on your chair. It took awhile to get one of the worker's attention to retrieve the bill and I believe the place did not have wi-fi. I certainly will come back in the future and try out the other dishes that Kinton has to offer!

a variety of food items on a table

AMAZING! The ramen was great - the broth was so flavourful and perfectly seasoned. The pork in my shoyu was perfectly cooked and there was a lot of toppings inside! This place is definitely great value as well. Aside from the food, the staff is amazing! They are so kind and so attentive. It was such a great experience and we will definitely be back!

The seafood and tonkotsu broth was rich, savory, and full of flavor. It was a little too salty to drink on its own, but perfect for dipping the noodles. The only thing to note is that the cold noodles stayed quite firm even after sitting in the broth for a while, so if you prefer a softer texture, I would recommend asking for hot noodles instead. The soft-boiled egg was also really good, slightly sweet, chilled, and very flavorful. We also tried the Spicy Red Miso ramen, which was not actually very spicy and leaned a little sweet. The broth was pleasant, though my teammate felt there were so many onions and green onions that they covered some of the miso flavor. The chashu, however, was excellent, with a really nice balance of lean meat and fat without feeling greasy. The takoyaki was classic and well done, crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, with generous pieces of octopus inside. The karaage was also very solid, crispy outside and juicy inside, with a seasoning that had a clear ginger and cooking wine aroma. Overall, a very enjoyable meal, especially if you like rich broths and comforting Japanese side dishes.

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

Reach ten stamps and you get a free bowl of ramen. - The chashu is excellent! My rating is 4.5 stars. I'm rounding down. Last Tuesday, I had my monthly 7 am meeting with a bunch of technical writing peers from around the world. It's quite the meeting that typically lasts for four hours. Luckily, we ended earlier than usual. It meant that my workday ended at around 3:30 pm. It was perfect, as I had a concert to attend several hours later. Normally, I don't do dinner before a concert. I grab a quick bite to each before I head downtown. This time, since I was done work early, I felt that having an early dinner was worthwhile. I drove downtown and parked in a lot that seems to be my usual spot whenever I'm attending a concert at Massey Hall. My original plan was to find an eatery close to the concert venue. I spotted Hokkaido Ramen Santouka steps away. I wanted ramen! I walked in and there was a sign that said to wait. I had no wait time. A woman and the entire staff greeted me. I asked for a table for me and got one. It was great. Seating between tables and diners is close together. You definitely overhear conversations and you can't help it. The man next to me had stretched his foot under my table. I didn't notice that he was in my space until I uncrossed my leg and my foot hit his. I listened to two friends next to me. The man seemed to take charge over what he and his female friend should eat, which was interesting. He gave the impression that he was an expert until the server came over and he had a ton of questions. It's always fun being an observer and listener. I had no choice but to listen to her dating experiences. I got a menu. I knew what I wanted. My server came over and was ready to take my order. I got these items: - Diet Coke - Miso chachu ramen, with bamboo shoot held - Jammy egg and corn as extra toppings The menu doesn't tell you what ingredients you get in each type of ramen. However, it does come with a photo. I asked how large a large bowl of ramen was. My server was great pointing up to a display of three bowls. I went large. The photo indicated that my miso ramen had bamboo shoots. I'm not a fan of them, so I asked that they be omitted. I also added a jammy egg and corn. I got a cold can of Diet Coke. A frosted glass with ice accompanied it. I was happy. I love an icy cold drink. This one was excellent. I loved that it was extra cold. My bowl of ramen had arrived. I was excited to dive in. My miso chachu ramen was delicious. The miso flavour was on point. I drank most of the broth, which speaks volumes on how yummy it was. The chachu was tender and had the best balance of pork and fattiness. The number of slices was generous. The ramen was chewy and perfectly done. I loved the corn and jammy egg. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed my ramen without these two key toppings. They worked nicely with the green onions. What prevents me from giving this place a perfect rating is flagging a server to get me water, or to frankly flag any staffer for something, such as ordering dessert or getting the bill. It took effort and hand-waving to get their attention. It took two tries to get a glass of water with ice. I was happy when I got some after I had finished my Diet Coke. It was equally as cold and yummy. I ordered dessert. The menu is stuck on each table. I asked what ice cream flavours were available. There were two flavours and I went with matcha. It was rich, creamy, and full of strong matcha flavour. The scoop of ice cream was generous. I loved the small spoon, which allowed this dessert to last a lot longer. I asked for the bill. I got a payment machine. I used my credit card to pay and tip. All was great. I used the washroom before I headed over to explore the downtown area. The washrooms are downstairs. It's an older building, so accessibility is an issue. There are two single-stall washrooms. The one that I used was clean. Because it's an older building, the ceiling is low. I am just shy of six feet in height. I made it without hitting my head on the ceiling. If you are six feet and taller, you'll need to duck to make sure you don't bang your head. Staff say goodbye to you when you leave. It was a nice touch, although I don't know what they are saying to me in Japanese. They could be swearing at me and I wouldn't know. I had a wonderful experience here. If you don't mind sitting close to folks and waving your arms like a maniac to get your server's attention, come here. This ramen joint appeared as a Michelin place in 2017. I can see why. The food quality is excellent. (200)
