Creamy Ramen with White Sesame Paste
    Demitri H.

Kinton Ramen has spread across Toronto for a reason. Their ramen is on point. It's tasty, fast to order and comes in lots of combinations. The special for Fall (Oct 2024) was a creamy ramen with white sesame paste and ground pork. Rich pork broth, tender noodles and lots of flavor. Perfect for a chilly day. Both the pork and veggie Goyza are flavor packed and great to share if you're feeling extra hungry. The place also looks nice, relaxed and is inviting. Come for the Ramen, stay for a pint of Sapporo.

Good food, friendly service Lots of parking in plaza Clean and comfy seating Long time no eat Kinton. Soup is good, pork is good and fresh no frozen meat taste

This was my first time trying kinton ramen and it is your standard ramen restaurant. Soup is very salty but that is to be expected with ramen. What I liked: shoyu soup base What I didn't like: only pork soup comes with an egg, fried chicken was too salty and only 3 small pieces of chicken in an order. Would I be back? No unless there was a nice special.

Honestly, quite expensive for what it was. But convenient as it was one of the only places open at late night. It hit the spot but the broth tasted a little grainy. Kinton is still a go-to spot regardless, specifically with this location the employees were very nice and hospitable.

4.5/5 My colleagues brought me here for lunch, the setting was open, bright, clean and casual. The delicious lunch set with soup ramen and beef rice bowl combo was only $11.99, what a good deal especially the quality was so good, the thin noodles were chewy and al-dente, so satisfying! Both my other colleagues ordered soup ramens and they were equally tasty, we added $1 for 2 scoops of green tea ice cream. It's rare to find authentic Japanese food at this price, and the server Taku was also Japanese ! If you fancy authentic ramen, this is the place! I'll definitely come back.

The shoyi broth is decent, but a bit saltier than I'd prefer, and very oily. You can see a layer of liquid fat at the top of the broth. This can be a good or bad thing depending on the person eating. Noodles were al dente, regardless of thick or thin noodles. Char siu was succulent and tasty and good thickness. The egg was overcooked, unfortunately. I wouldn't expect that from a bowl of ramen that's not very filling and costs $20 before tax and tip. However, the restaurant itself is pretty. Great place to bring a date. Even their washrooms are nice. Service was also pretty good.

I crave ramen when temperature drops. While researching for decent ramen nearby on Yelp, this is on top of the list. Sadly it's not my type of ramen. I ordered PORK SHOYO, soy sauce ramen with chashu. The broth was very oily (please see the video). The chashu was so fatty, like more-fat-than-meat type of fatty. I'm not really into super oily broth and really fatty chashu, so it seems to be a disappointing meal to me. Well I guess on the good side, at least that day my stomach was safely protected from the cold by a layer of oil... The stars were for the service, which my server was very friendly and service was prompt on the day I visited. Not that I will visit again, but I was never given a stamp card that day.

Food is okay, honestly I think it's nothing special. Food... 3.5 star. Been here a few times over the last few years, the restaurant is still very well kept. Maybe it's designed to simulate the fusion Japanese feel, the seating is not that comfortable. Ambiance...4 Star. Service is ok. Some staff are a bit fresh and need more training. Service... 3.5 star. Price is high! The food and service don't just the price. Maybe the establishment thinks that it's Japanese, therefore they can charge a high markup? This is supposed to be a value meal in Japan!!! Value....2.5 star They have a promotion, however the restaurant told me that because the store was busy they ran out of the "promotion" card, hence can't offer me the discount?!? Really, is that false advertising?

We love this ramen resto!! My family and I are regulars here and we always get our usual. I love the pork garlic spicy ramen and my family always order the pork original. We prefer the thick noodles over thin. The egg is really good too. The garlic noodle ramen is SO good. I love the slight kick in the broth. It's amazing!!! The gyoza is good too. We've tried both (vegetable or pork). This resto has a stamp program called Bowlers Club. You have to finish drinking all the broth in your bowl to get one stamp. 100 stamps = 1 free topping for life. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly.

Even though this is right by my place I didn't start coming here untill lockdown. . Location: In commerce gate. One of the few not Bubble tea locations. Its on the side facing highway 7 not facing the main parking lot. Parking: This place can really full up. Don't give up hope tho, they have underground parking. It's prob best to park there anyway, protect your car from the elements. Store: Tucked away from everything else, it faces hwy 7 not the communal parking lot. It's bigger inside than it looks on the outside. Its browns and wood with dimmer lighting feels cozy. You walk in and check in at the front door, you used to wait for take out at the back but you pick it up at the front now. Staff: Everyone I have dealt with have been nice and super sweet. Food: Ramen and other things. They have set menus now for 1 or more people. You get a ramen a tofu app (my favourite app) and a pop. I like the Pork shoyu. I'll definitely be back. They are quick, convenient and tastes good!

Amazing food, great service, and good ambiance. The Pork Original Ramen was delicious. The broth was a bit oily. The Pork Gyoza (not pictured) were delicious. The Sprite was refreshing. The Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream was a nice way to finish the meal.

We have been eating here for a few years and we do have the stamp cards. Today I was just notified that you have to drink every drop of broth for a stamp. I have never been denied a stamp before today. The broth is much too salty to consume all of it. I will probably be frequenting the Scarborough branch from now on.....very poor decision today....

Right now they have Kintonlicious going on which is a prix fixe menu. It's $19.99 for choices of: a pork or vegetarian ramen, pork or vegetarian gyoza, and choice of dessert (cheesecake or ice cream). Every time I forget how mediocre Kinton is and every time I regret ordering their signature pork ramen. The broth barely tastes like it has salt in it. The plus is that the toppings play more of a starring role. However the last time I was there, I had the two wimpiest pieces of cha shu which was disappointing. The egg was good but didn't make up for the rest of the ramen. The gyoza was pretty good and came with a mayo aioli underneath it. They have a lot of cheesecake flavours here like plain, matcha, yuzu, and black sesame. I don't see black sesame a lot so I had to try this one. My friend also told me that they almost never have it, so order it when you can! If you haven't had black sesame before, I would roughly describe it as tasting almost like a burnt nut. I was told that was pretty accurate from our friend that had never tried it. It was a bit dense but alright interesting overall.

The restaurant was at a busy location, which was the end of the driveway, everyone sees it before making a turn. The staff was nice when we walked in. We were greeted and directed to a corner table where was better with a baby. We showed them 2 coupons, 1 for ramen and 1 for fried chicken. The staff needed to talk to the owner about them. After a few seconds, she came back and said only 1 coupon per visit. We were a bit disappointed, because we were so hard to dine out with a baby, and not able to come again with a long drive and a baby. We talked to their owner, he was nice to let us try both at the same time. Oh yeah! So we have 1 original ramen with black garlic oil, and 1 tomato base. It won't take long to wait. The fried chicken came first, it was not like the breaded chicken, it fried from original, but after marinated; it has taste, but not salty. The 2 ramen came at the same time. They both really rich, but not so salty, because the salt level could be altered; the noodle size could be chosen as well, we did 1 thick and 1 thin. They both looked similar. Overall, the ramen and the chicken all looked good and tasty. I would like to come again if next time I come around this area, even though they were a bit pricey.

At first the broth wasn't that impressive, but it definitely grew on me as I ate. I loved the flavour on the chashu (none of that bland unflavored pork here) and the shiitake mushrooms were also marinated very well (though they were a bit on the sweet side). Don't be fooled by the photo - there is a lot of noodle in there! They also offer a free kids meal deal for kids under 12 with an order of two bowls of ramen, which is pretty nice if you're eating out as a family.

Food I'll be honest, I'm not exactly sure how their ramen is different from other chains - but I do like the fact that they have a lot of different seasonal menu items to try. A little while back they had their gyudon ramen and matcha ramen - which was very unique from anything I've experienced. The gyudon was literally like the rice version, but they have it with noodles. It's a little oily after a while cause the way you make it. But quite comforting and heavy for big eaters. Matcha ramen was alright - didn't feel it was anything specialy, but they use duck pieces rather than pork cha siu. It had a better balance that way and didn't felt too heavy. I'm a tad surprised that this Kinton Ramen got not-so-stellar reviews as of late. In contrast, I had a fabulous experience. My worst experience at any Kinton has been its Richmond Hill location. Staff got my order wrong, fished out bamboo shoot that I clearly stated that I didn't want, and did not care if I may or may not have a food allergy by giving me the same bowl of ramen. I had come to CF Markville Mall to pick up an order at Swarovski. I used mall entrance 1 to get there. I passed by this Kinton Ramen on my way over. I was ready for an early dinner. It was probably 4 pm on a Monday. I drove over here from my workplace in Mississauga. I thought that it would be great to give this eatery a try. The only downside is that you don't have mall access to this eatery. If you're in the mall, you have to to exit it through entrance 1 and then use the separate Kinton Ramen entrance. It's a bit inconvenient. I'd probably be more annoyed if I had a ton of shopping bags full of goods and winds were at 80 km/h for me to exit the mall and get into this eatery. Luckily, it was a nice day and I had a small bag. I entered the eatery and was greeted immediately by a female staffer. I asked for a table and got one with a view of Churchill's Cigar and Gift. It was also fun to people-watch as I ate. I looked at the menu. The burnt shoyu ramen looked good. I lucked out, as this ramen was a part of a Kinton combo. Yes! I got these items as part of my combo: - Sparkling yuzu lemonade - Pork gyoza (4) - Burnt shoyu with thick ramen and corn I got a cup with cold water. It was refreshing and much needed. It was refilled regularly. I am a fan of sparkling drinks. I love yuzu. Put them in a lemonade and I am happy. The sparkling yuzu lemonade was excellent. Yuzu has a more subtle lemony flavour that is so refreshing. It felt fancy having fizzy lemonade. I loved this drink so much. The pork gyoza came out next. I got four of them. They were deep-fried. The pork filling was yummy. I loved my bowl of burnt shoyu ramen. The thick ramen noodles were chewy and perfect. The chashu was delicious and flavourful. I loved the dry seaweed, corn, jammy egg, scallions, bean sprouts, and garlic chips. There was a mild burnt flavour to the pork broth that was nice. I couldn't fit dessert in. I was stuffed. I paid my bill at the table with a credit card. I tapped the machine with my card and was done. I used the washroom before I left. It was fancy, from the sink, to complimentary mouthwash. As I was leaving this eatery, I saw a pickup window for takeout orders. It was cool. I like this Kinton a lot. Staff were friendly and competent. The food and drink were excellent. I'll be back. The noodles were surprisingly firmer compared to my previous visits and the broth actually came out piping hot as opposed to lukewarm. Idk if they just hired new/better chefs in the back or if late night is when they serve the best grub. Either way, I received significantly better food than the last couple times I visited this place way back. The other thing I really liked was the tableside fried garlic that you could top up your bowl with. I literally unscrewed the lid and emptied out a third of the fried garlics into my bowl. SOOO GOOD.
