Sansotei hits home as one of the first few ramen spots I've tried during my university years in life. As for the employees, they have a lot of space to cover so they do walk-around every now and then. The space itself is quite modern and gives off a welcoming vibe. Things are definitely pricier now though - as all things are due to inflation.

My first time coming here since it opened. I cane with a friend. It's located upstairs in the mall which is pretty convenient especially during winter where you don't really want to drive elsewhere, just want to grab a bite and do some shopping after. The food was great, broth was thick and creamy. I ordered the shoyu. We got zangi (fried chicken) and gyoza for appetizer. It was definitely satisfying. Prices are on the higher end like $16+ and you would probably think they would give more noodles for that price.

    Simple set

The restaurant is spacious with a good amount of seatings. Service was a little slower than their other locations but ramen is consistent. I enjoy going to Sansotei as their ramen includes the egg, some places it is an add on. This time I tried the simple set, for $12 it comes with ramen and a side of charsiu and rice. (Simple set doesn't have egg as it's not a full portion..all other ramen bowls have egg). Its good value!

Love this location as if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Scarborough Town Centre, Sansotei Ramen has a separate seating area right in the mall. Same consistent delicious flavours, this location also boasts a few exclusive specials currently. Among their snacks I got the cream corn croquettes and the Hitachino Nest white ale. The corn croquettes were about what you would expect from a fried food item but the white ale tasted great, especially in a hot day. The ale is similar to a Belgian blue moon. Next time I'd like to try their red rice, though they also have several others from Hitachino including the lager, saison, and daidai ipa. The ramen was great, as usual. Rich broth and delightful noodles. The meats were cooked well and the eggs made with a golden yolk. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, great food conveniently located in STC. Good for a light break or to recharge at the end of the day.

Located on the upper level of Scarborough Town Centre, I visited on a weekday afternoon for lunch. The place was pretty spacious with lots of seating. The broth in my chicken ramen was full of flavour and the portion size was not too bad, a good sized slice of chicken. I felt pretty full afterwards. In terms of service, the servers were friendly and attentive. Overall, I would definitely come back again after a day of shopping!

We use to go to the Markham location quite a bit, but it was really salty and we ended up not going for a long while. We noticed they opened up in stc during covid and finally gave it a try. Their soup is definitely not as salty as their other location. But it's still hella oily broth. I liked the gyoza here. Service was nice. It was a bit slower but the staff were really friendly.

$14 - Vegetarian Mazemen Sansotei Style: Spicy mixed noodle dish with eggplant peperoncini, corn and green onion

I have always passed this ramen place whenever I was at STC so I finally gave it a try one Saturday afternoon. The place has a premium feel. There was something like a front desk receiving area and the table and chairs are not cheap looking. The menu looks old and very worn out though. I wish they consider laminating it or have it made of more durable material. My companion ordered the Miso Black ($17.50) and I initially tried ordering the Tomato *ramen ($16.50). I was disappointed when the server let me know that there were no tomatoes available during that time so I ordered something else instead. I ended up ordering the Vegetarian Mazemen Sansotei Style ($14) which is a spicy mixed noodle dish with eggplant peperoncini, corn and green onion. For someone who has a fairly low hot and spicy tolerance level, I can say the dish was manageable. It was spicy but not too much where it can become hot to the tongue. I personally, don't like the red strands garnish looking thing sprinkled on top of the noodles, but all other ingredients are fine. After mixing everything the dish does eventually come together and it came out good. I can also recommend their Miso Black ramen. The bowl was generously filled with meat and toppings and it was not just made up mostly of soup. The broth flavour was also very rich and delicious.

I normally get the miso black, but decided to go with the Spicy Tan Tam and it was delicious! My new fave. Glad that I was able to remove the bamboo shoots and SUB for mushrooms. :) Service was good. Fast and efficient. Will return!

My first meal here? A Tonkotsu Black with Chatsu, Black Fungu, Eggs, Green Onion, Garlic Oil along with a side appetizer of Gyoza. The deep flavours of the broth exploded in my mouth. Wow!! The eggs were silky soft. I chose thin noodles which paired perfectly with each spoonful of broth & ramen. A hearty meal!! Excellent ambience and customer service too!

    Sansotei Ramen UberEats Delivery
    Imelda M.

I love ramen. Especially on snow days it's a nice treat at home on a blustery cold day. It was a good excuse to order Sansotei Ramen delivery through UberEats. It took about an hour to arrive. The delivery fee is $2 on top of the normal menu price. As to be expected the broth was lukewarm but still tasty. I reheated the broth a bit before eating and it was great. The broth and noodles are very good. I ordered an extra egg too. The pork is a bit sweeter than expected but overall the black garlic broth made up for it! Ramen is the best!

This is always a good option for Ramen! Any of the choices are good. We had the Tonkotsu. The soup base is so flavourful and the thick noodles are just right, not too chewy and not to soft. Service is fast! They have specials Mon-Thursday at the STC location. A great meal for under $20.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon when the mall was packed full of people. However, this restaurant was pretty quiet and I was able to be seated right away. The restaurant just opened recently in the upper food court and it's very beautiful and aesthetic. However, I'm pretty disappointed with the food choices and the service I received. They have zero vegan options for noodle soup, as all of their broth is made from meat. The only vegan option they have is the mixed spicy noodles with eggplant, but the whole appeal of the restaurant is that you can enjoy a nice bowl of soup while still in the mall. If I wanted fried noodles, I would have went to the food court downstairs... I will admit that the ramen noodles they used were exceptionally good and very fresh. The flavour was also great and the food came out really fast. The waitress did warn me about the spice level and it was pretty spicy but manageable. I also got a side of their gyoza which was juicy, but nothing special. The service was also kind of spotty, even though they had a lot of employees compared to customers. It took quite awhile to even flag down and locate my server even though they had other servers just kind of waiting around. Their staff are friendly though and are nice when they do get to you. Also when I was done paying the bill, the server immediately came with her cleaning supplies and waited next to the table while I put on my coat. This was kind of intrusive since there were literally three other empty tables around me and no one was waiting to be seated, so there was really no reason for her to rush me out at all. All in all, I wouldn't go back, but I guess it was worth checking out just once. Parking should be a breeze here since it is in Scarborough Town Centre which has plenty of parking lots around. It's also very accessible by TTC, as it's right at Scarborough Centre Station.

    Gyōza and Tonkotsu Black Ramen

Been waiting for this place to open for a while and thanks to our wintery spring day, it was a great day for some ramen. Gyoza - Was a nice shared plate with good flavour. I could've probably eaten the entire plate if I didn't have my huge bowl of ramen coming up. Filling was nicely seasoned while the shell was perfectly steamed and grilled. It's easy for some to mess this up but theirs were made just right. 5/5. Tonkotsu Black Ramen - Was a very generous serving which was also very beautifully plated. Temperature was just right as well as the flavours. I was expecting it to be a bit more garlicky though, to be honest. I think I'll have to try the others to compare them. But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed it. 5/5. Fried Chicken - This was probably my fave. It was a side order but I personally thought it was a generous serving especially for its price. Be sure to squeeze that lemon on! I think that was what made the perfect balance with whatever seasoning and batter they have. Sorry, but I didn't get a chance to even take a picture. I was having lunch with a friend and didn't want to be rude as this came a little after we had already started to eat. But for its price, definitely just give it a try. 5/5.

Interior is pretty nice with a couple tables available for small to medium size groups. Staff is pretty friendly and orders came in on time. Food I'll be honest, I'm not exactly sure how their ramen is different from other chains - but I do like the fact that they have a lot of different seasonal menu items to try. A little while back they had their gyudon ramen and matcha ramen - which was very unique from anything I've experienced. The gyudon was literally like the rice version, but they have it with noodles. It's a little oily after a while cause the way you make it. But quite comforting and heavy for big eaters. Matcha ramen was alright - didn't feel it was anything specialy, but they use duck pieces rather than pork cha siu. It had a better balance that way and didn't felt too heavy. Pricing wise is pretty standard now with inflation. Nice place that it's close to me, but I don't see myself coming too often though.

Thank goodness my mom and aunt were able to snatch a table while I went to look for parking. My mom and I upgraded our bowls to the value set for an extra $5, which honestly felt super worth it since it came with a seaweed salad, miso soup, plus a choice of gyoza or takoyaki. We ended up getting one of each to share. My mom ordered the MeatLovers bowl, I got the Roast Beef abura soba, and my auntie went for the Niku Miso. The portions were pretty filling and the noodles had that chewy texture that makes every bite so satisfying. The sauce was not overly salty, which mixed well with the noodles, and it was given at the PERFECT amount without having the noodles overly soggy. They also had extra fried onions and chili oil on the table if you wanted to add more flavour and texture, which I appreciated. The roast beef was sliced super thin and paired really well with the rich sauce underneath the noodles. One small detail I also loved was how the extra cutlery and napkins were stored neatly inside a pull-out drawer at the table, which was very convenient and helped keep the table less cluttered. They even had baskets underneath the table for jackets and bags, which was honestly such a smart touch considering how tight and busy the space gets. By the time we finished eating, there was a huge crowd of people waiting outside for seats. Holy cow this place is popular. Overall, it was a fun and different dining experience compared to regular ramen spots, and I can definitely see why people have been hyping this place up.

It's really delectable with all the sauce covering every noodle. Definitely try and customize with toppings such as the fried garlic, sesame, chilli oil, or even vinegar to cut the richness a bit. The meat is also cooked well, tender and delicious. Although the servers are friendly and curious, it's so busy they might not always be as attentive as other restaurants. Also, food always seems to arrive at the table at different times so it may be a bit awkward as someone who ploughed through their noodles will be done before some is just starting to mix their bowl. As it's new a popular, be ready for a wait if you come during prime hours, otherwise if you come a bit early or later you'll probably be in within 5-15 minutes. The restaurant itself is a bit loud but it's more of that fun energy and hustle and bustle with a popular tight seating restaurant. For noodle lovers or ramen lovers it's definitely a must go.

The star of the bowl is the chashu: thick slices of deep-fried pork with a crispy crackling exterior that gives way to rich, fatty meat that melts on the tongue. These honking slabs put the flimsy chashu at other spots to shame. The soft-boiled egg was equally impressive... jammy, well-seasoned, and deeply satisfying. I enjoyed all the garnishes too, from the pickled carrots that add a pop of brightness to the heart-adorned fish cake that's guaranteed to make you smile. Where the bowl falls short is consistency in the noodles. On my first visit, they were overly soft with a faint alkaline aftertaste. On a follow-up visit, though, they had more chew and no lingering finish. The tonkotsu broth is solid and not overly oily, which helps balance the fatty pork, and flavourful without being overly salty. It's a good option for those who don't want an aggressive bowl. You can order the ramen on its own or as part of a combo ($22.99), which includes karaage to start and cheesecake to finish. For rice lovers, the pork chashu don ($13.99) arrives with three thick slices of pork, a soft-boiled egg, caramelized onions, pickled vegetables, and broccoli over a generous portion of sticky rice. I appreciated that the sauce was layered into the rice, so even the bottom bites were full of flavour. There's also a plant-based chashu ramen for those leaning vegetarian. If you're a fan of Shanghainese beef noodles, Hana Ramen's braised beef ramen ($16.99) hits a similar note. Large chunks of tender braised beef are joined by egg, black fungus, bamboo shoots, and vegetables for a hearty, well-rounded bowl. The pork bone broth carries a gentle spiciness here, leaving a pleasant tingle on the tongue. And a nice bonus: all Hana Ramen noodle bowls come with a free noodle refill if the first serving doesn't quite do the trick.

I needed dinner. I felt like ramen. I did a search and found Hana Ramen. Perfect! I drove up Kennedy Road and made a right turn into the parking lot. Getting here was great. However, this eatery is on the northeast corner of Kennedy and Ellesmere. It took me a long time to exit this eatery to head north on Kennedy. It's a busy intersection and the Kennedy 43 bus stops right in front of the exit. A nice man let me into the lane. It's my only gripe about this place. Otherwise, come here! I had no problem backing into a parking spot and walking into this eatery. It's a long restaurant! I was greeted by a nice man. He led me to a table that was close to the kitchen and in the middle of the dining area, by the beverage fridge. You scan the QR code to get the menu. You then order online. I was at table B3 and the app knows. I got these items: - Ho Jun white peach soda - Fried pork dumplings - Miso pork ramen with an extra jammy egg I got a pitcher of water that had a sliced lemon in it. It was refreshing and quenched my thirst. I got my white peach soda that came in a bottle. I got a straw. It was delicious. It was fizzy and the peach flavour was excellent. I'd get it again. Ordering my miso pork ramen was different. There were so many combinations and exceptions that you could specify that it can seem overwhelming. The photo shows what you get in you ramen. In hindsight, it would have been helpful if it listed what toppings you got. I ordered an extra jammy egg. What I couldn't see from the photo is that it had bamboo shoots, which I'm not a fan of. I did manage to remove three slices. The removal was easy and didn't ruin my ramen experience. I specified getting seaweed, green onion, black fungus, and corn kernels. I was not charged extra for these items. It didn't take long for my ramen to arrive. It looked good. It was the best ramen that I have had in a long time. The broth had the perfect miso flavour without it being overly salty. The noodles were chewy and generous. I liked that the roasted seaweed was served on the side. They didn't get soggy until you dunked them into the broth yourself. The carrot slice was pickled. It added a surprisingly nice contrast. The jammy eggs were perfect. The best part was the pork belly. The two slices were crisped up so nicely that it crackled when you took a bite. It had more fat than your typical slice, but it was so flavourful because it was crispy. I dream about the pork from this place. So good! The fried pork dumplings took some time to arrive. I got them halfway through eating my ramen. Yumminess can't be rushed. They were long pan-fried dumplings. They were tasty. The pork filling was flavourful. The wrappers were the perfect thickness that allowed the best searing. They came with dipping sauce that paired nicely. There is free wifi. The password is just under the QR code. I approached the counter to pay for my bill. I tipped and tapped my credit card to pay. Done! I used the washroom before I headed home. There are two washrooms and each one is a single stall. It was my first time using a bidet. It was cool and fun. It felt so fancy! I loved having dinner here. Prices are decent. The food and drinks were fantastic. I'll be back for more. (109)
