    Miso yuzu ramen

One of my fave spots for ramen - love how the different ramen bases are ones you can only really get here! It's a smaller restaurant that's very quiet and cozy, service there has always been great! Always look forward to eating here

Their food was fairly underwhelming especially for the price. Although the ramen and broth was good, it definitely wasn't worth the price given there are so many other ramen options in the area. Also, the skewers didn't really add to the dish. They seemed greasy and overly blackened. One meat dish also said it came with sweet potato fries but they were actually chips which were also underwhelming. At the end of the day everything was just fine and borderline of blah. Wouldn't really recommend.

We haven't been here since renovation but as soon as we walked in, we thought we were having omakese because of the bar seats at the front. I was on IG and saw their beef brisket ramen but realized it was only limited edition lol The restaurant wasn't too busy for a weekend so it wasn't too loud. Servers were attentive. Got the miso ramen and mazesoba. The mazesoba portion was surprising huge and tasty! The miso ramen was quite salty and not to my liking. I think i'll stick with their tori paitan next time.

We've been to Ramen Yutaka for a few years, since before they had their initial renovation (around COVID?), so I'm a little surprised myself I'm writing this review now . All I can say is this ramen shop is a hidden gem. They don't go crazy promoting themselves on social media, but they are still busy every time we go. They recently changed their menu (I got too excited and forgot to take a picture), but they featured a coffee infused ramen, and some sort of yuzu ramen, along with a soy milk tan tan ramen. I went for my usual, which is the shoyu chicken ramen. They used to give a skewer of grilled chicken thigh with your order, but has since changed to sous vide chicken and 2 strips of pork belly which I actually prefer! Ths prices are comparable to other big ramen places, but their broth is definitely more flavourful, and the toppings are actually enough for you to finish the noodles. Low key, I want to keep this restaurant to myself, but they are too good!

Unagi Toro (fried eel taco). Not bad, but a bit salty for my liking.

Clean environment, nice service. Food wise, I had better. Overall 2.5 stars at best. Will I come back, most likely not. We order the Ungai Toro,(fried eel taco), is different but a bit salty for my liking. Earl Grey ramen is mediocre, can taste the earl grey, but the Ungai Toro flavour cover the ramen flavour, so it felt blend. And the last one we order is the Shio ramen. Clear broth and again, blend taste. For that price, many selection. Is an easy pass for repeat. ($83 after tax, discount (10% off when pay cash and tips)

We're glad we stumbled across this place on the weekend, thanks to Yelp. My first impression of this restaurant was the minimalist decor, simple and comfortable. There aren't too many table seatings but you can also sit at their bar table. We arrived before 7pm on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. We ordered a Shio Chintan Ramen, Tori Paitan Ramen, Unagi taco, Chashu Don (small add on). This was enough food for two adults and a toddler. The Shio Ramen and Unagi Taco was delicious. Owners were really friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!

What a great hidden gem in aurora! Came here on a saturday evening with a girlfriend and was able to snatch a seat no problem! Lots of unique japanese ramen options including dry and soupy options. I tried the tan tan and i loved the soup base! It was nutty and flavorful. I believe all the ramen comes with a chicken skewer - it was juicy and tender! The decor of this restaurant was a modern clean minimalist japanese vibe!

Truffle oil ramen with chicken and spicy ramen with chicken.

I loved it here. Rarely do I see ramen places that specialize in chicken skewers. They also have pork if you like the traditional ramen. My favourite type of noodles - the thinner ones. The broth was full of flavour and it was a unique flavour, that again, you usually don't have featured in your traditional ramen stores - truffle oil. I was pleasantly surprised that it didnt make the broth too greasy for me. I gave it a five star instead of a four star only because Im biased regarding chicken skewers - and this one was so good, so juicy and tender. One complaint I would have is it didn't come with an egg . I wasn't aware so I didn't even order one for the soup. My friend's soup was a spicy one. It was also really good. He says that he frequently visits this place. For me, this ramen place gets the pass. I would recommend this restaurant to my family, friends, and strangers.

Pretty busy restaurant but they only open from Thursdays-Sundays. They don't have many large tables so if you come in a group of more than 4, u might have to wait a bit. All ramen came with a chicken skewer that sits on top of the bowl so it doesn't get soggy which was nice lol Ramen was good but I don't think it was worth the 18-19$. Egg was extra charge on the side. They have 10% discount for cash payment :) But overall still pricey for the ramen that was mid.

Yeah this is probably my favourite Ramen place! This was sooooooo good. Really quick and friendly service and it's a well maintained restaurant. Definitely coming back for more, this was amazing. I love the atmosphere and i'm intrigued to try more of the food. 5/5

It's our first time dining out in 2022 so we were excited. And it was a windy (snowy because of the wind) Saturday so a bowl of hot ramen just makes sense. We went at about 13 which is the time it just opened so it's not busy and we were essentially the first and only customers at one point. 2-3 chef/kitchen staff and 1 wait staff. We opt for an original white chicken soup $15.5 and miso ramen $16.5. Feels like inflation is crazy cuz last time I had a bowl of ramen was perhaps $12-14. Or maybe I haven't eaten ramen in a while that I don't know the price now. Also I saw some old menus the ramen came with both chicken and pork belly but not anymore, the pork belly is extra, so the ingredients and toppings in the ramen is decreasing on top of the price increases. The food came quickly but it's so sad it's in a plastic takeout bowl and plastic utensils which I hate because I really want a full dine in experience after staying at home for so long, otherwise I would have chosen a takeout. I understand because of Covid, maybe hygiene reason maybe cost reason, but it's just sad and disappointing. In terms of the food I think it's fair. Soup is a bit too salty imo especially the miso one it almost feels like a tsukemen. The miso soup base is also a bit sweeter than the regular white chicken soup. The noodles comes in one size only and it is home made. It is al dente and has the wheat flavor so it's good. The sous vide chicken was alright, soft and tender, normal thickness and comes with three pieces. We ordered pork belly as extra toppings and those are too thin. The ramen also comes with very few toppings, only bamboo shoot, black fungus, some wakame, some green onion. It doesn't even come with an egg. The bill, after 10% off if paid in cash, is still almost $40. Bottom line: I prefer Sansotei but it's further south in Markham. Since Aurora and Newmarket have limited ramen options, I may still get it if I super crave for ramen.

    Mazesoba

A wonderful place on the 404 and Wellington. Super accessible in Aurora - with plenty of parking. We were shopping at Upper Canada mall and decided to close off the day with dinner here. They ask you to write one name and a phone number for contact tracing and take your temperature at the the door. They're offering a 15% discount for cash payment. We ordered the mazesoba and a spicy miso ramen. I personally really enjoyed the noodle. It was chewy and well seasoned. My mom thought the noodles were a bit hard for her and would have preferred a pork base instead of a chicken base. Most of the options on the menu are tori (chicken) base so the flavour is a bit lighter than pork. We did feel it was slightly more on the expensive side but given the current market conditions, it was understandable. The service was amazing though. A well run ramen place for those that like a simple tori experience.

wow. Never expected Aurora to have such amazing ramen! I was craving some ramen and found this ramen spot at Aurora that had pretty good rating so I gave it a try. Their ramen is a bit unique with a skewer as the meat rather than the usual char siu. The skewer was amazing! It was flavourful and complimented really well with the ramen broth. I got the red oil ramen and it was just the right amount of spice. We also got a sashimi platter for appetizer and the fish was super fresh. Would highly recommend coming here!

It's hard to tell that this is what you are supposed to do. The only menu is a giant one on the wall next to the cash register. I hate this. It's a sit down restaurant why can't I sit with friends poring over the menu. Instead you have to stand awkwardly at the cash and front door with people standing behind you and a cashier staring at you.Hard to ask questions when you feel so rushed. Staff: Nice. Not sure why there is so many. One thing, when I order at a new place I like to ask what they recommend I get. The person taking the order , who everyone deferred to so I'm assuming he was in charge, had no idea. I asked if there was some sort of signature dish, or something I had to try because it was particularly great -crickets- then he just started reading the menu to me. Um, ok. Food: So I ended up ordering the Bao, Shanghai moon and sesame balls. Bao- soft pillowy bread just like I like it. The flavours were just ok. Not the best I've ever gotten. With some tweaking could be great but it was the best of the three dishes I ordered. Shanghai moon- Shanghai noodles. Pork dumpling, Chinese broccoli, crispy chicken skin. I didn't like this at all and didn't quite finish it even though it was pretty small. IThe noodles were weird, over cooked and undercooked , and the broth tasted very watered down with hardly any flavour or aroma. The dumplings fell apart when I lifted them out of the bowl. The broth was the most disappointing. There were 5 people in the kitchen. Didn't anyone taste anything? Sesame balls. When they came they were 4 tiny balls, im glad they were so small because they were not very good. The filling, black sesame was good but the breading was oily. It was like they were cooked at too low a temp and the balls absorbed a lot of oil. I could only eat 2. I had a bit of the 3rd and couldn't do it. I' originally gave it 2 stars but it was so disappointingly bad I had to change it to 1. I'll come back and try in a few months to see if it's better.

My favourite was the grilled zucchini (not overcooked and very lightly seasoned). Least favourite was the grilled eggplant (nice texture but way too saucy). Everything else on the menu was decent, including the sushi and sashimi. Sushi rolls were on the small side, and not overly the top amazing, but as expected for an AYCE restaurant. Hand rolls were excellent (especially the unagi hand roll) - loved the crispy seaweed on the outside, and slices of cucumber added inside. Dim sum was mediocre (only tried the har gow / steamed shrimp dumplings). The grilled stuff were good - grilled vegetables, scallops, squid. Portion sizes were perfect (small), so you get to order a wide variety of items to share from their large selection. Even their dessert menu was more extensive than in a lot of other sushi / AYCE restaurants -- they had lychee yogurt, tiramisu, blueberry & coconut ice cream, matcha ice cream, and other light fruit-based desserts. Good food selection overall though.
