Finally had the chance to try Ippon Ramen and here's what I think: First Impression: Upon stepping into Ippon Ramen, I was pleasantly surprised by its intimate and cozy ambiance. While the space is relatively small, it has a welcoming atmosphere that can comfortably accommodate a small amount of people. Experience: The service at Ippon Ramen was top-notch. The staff were very quick and efficient, ensuring that our orders were promptly taken and served. Their attentiveness added to the overall dining experience. Food We Tried: - Chicken Karaage Ramen - Veggie Ramen - Beef Ramen All three were rich in flavours and had a very satisfying serving size! Overall: Finding good ramen spots in Pickering can be a challenge, which is why the arrival of Ippon Ramen is a promising thing! If you happen to be in the Pickering area, I highly recommend paying them a visit. You won't be disappointed by the tasty ramen options and warm hospitality this hidden gem has to offer!

I've driven by this place a lot and decided to stop in tonight. They're open for dine-in again, very nice setup and attentive service. The ramen broth is a 12-hr pork broth with no MSG and so delicious. I ordered the Miso ramen and my partner got the Black Knight (great for all you garlic lovers). You get the whole egg vs. half egg, tender meat, and tasty egg noodles. We also ordered the pan-fried gyoza, but would do deep fried next time. I was impressed by the authenticity (used to go to Kinton in Toronto). I'll definitely be coming back.

This was my first time at Ippon Ramen and I would definitely come back again! I went with my friends for lunch and it was not busy at all. Service was great as well as the food. I ordered their kaarage ramen and it was truly delicious. I love how they separated the chicken from the ramen because at some ramen places they usually just put the chicken on top and it becomes soggy later on. I loved the interior it was clean and had a cute design. If you pay cash it is 10%!!

Ordered the Ippon Beef ramen on Boxing Day. Asked for no eggs cause I'm not a fan. The order took over an hour but I don't know it that was on Ippon's end or Skip the Dishes. Either way, when it arrived it was still warm. The noodles were nice and springy, not too thick. The broth was savory, but not salty. I noticed on Ippon's IG they mention the broth doesn't have any MSG, salt, chicken powder etc which is really great but I feel like it was lacking a little bit of salt. That being said with ramen it's either way too salty (I'm looking at you, Sansotei) or not salty enough. The beef was thinly sliced and had some onion mixed in similar to what you would get in a gyudon. Still, this was delicious and considering there are no other decent options for ramen in Durham, I will definitely go to Ippon again!

We were in the area and decided to give this new restaurant a try. It's hard to find Asian food east of the city that is good. I ordered the Red Knight Ramen which is made with their own in house spicy sauce; it's a mix of sweet and spicy, and gives just the perfect kick to your meal (not overly spicy). We also ordered appetizers to share and drinks, but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures . Overall, I was very happy with my meal; usually after eating at other Ramen establishments, I find myself very thirsty due to all the salt added to the broth, I did not have this after eating here ! We will definitely be coming back, as the owner said he plans on expanding the offerings with time

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

The seafood and tonkotsu broth was rich, savory, and full of flavor. It was a little too salty to drink on its own, but perfect for dipping the noodles. The only thing to note is that the cold noodles stayed quite firm even after sitting in the broth for a while, so if you prefer a softer texture, I would recommend asking for hot noodles instead. The soft-boiled egg was also really good, slightly sweet, chilled, and very flavorful. We also tried the Spicy Red Miso ramen, which was not actually very spicy and leaned a little sweet. The broth was pleasant, though my teammate felt there were so many onions and green onions that they covered some of the miso flavor. The chashu, however, was excellent, with a really nice balance of lean meat and fat without feeling greasy. The takoyaki was classic and well done, crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, with generous pieces of octopus inside. The karaage was also very solid, crispy outside and juicy inside, with a seasoning that had a clear ginger and cooking wine aroma. Overall, a very enjoyable meal, especially if you like rich broths and comforting Japanese side dishes.

The food were great. The broths were light and nicely balanced with flavour, not too salty. The shrimps in the Sapporo Miso Ramen were cooked perfectly but the pork in the Chirashu Ramen was a bit chewy. The soy sauce served with the Agedashi Tofu had a hint of sweetness which was quite refreshing to the palate. I would've loved for it to be wakame seaweed instead. I also added a side order of the Chicken Karage which was delicious and definitely made fresh! The restaurant was at a busy location, which was the end of the driveway, everyone sees it before making a turn. The staff was nice when we walked in. After a few seconds, she came back and said only 1 coupon per visit. We were a bit disappointed, because we were so hard to dine out with a baby, and not able to come again with a long drive and a baby. We talked to their owner, he was nice to let us try both at the same time. Oh yeah! So we have 1 original ramen with black garlic oil, and 1 tomato base. It won't take long to wait. The fried chicken came first, it was not like the breaded chicken, it fried from original, but after marinated; it has taste, but not salty. The 2 ramen came at the same time. They both really rich, but not so salty, because the salt level could be altered; the noodle size could be chosen as well, we did 1 thick and 1 thin. They both looked similar.
