We'd definitely come back for this menu to beat the heat!

Kinton is definitely one of the first ramen joints I started going to before the massive waves of new ramen joints that opened/closed over the years. Kinton has been quite "stable" with their menu I'd say, but nothing wrong with that as long as their food taste great! We like coming here for soupy ramen in the winter and chilled ramen for the summer! And if you prefer ramen with meat broth than ones with seafood, then this is your go-to! Service was great, our server was friendly and made sure to review what we ordered before submitting! We like sitting at the bar because there's more table space and watching our food being made encourages our taste buds what to look forward to! There's a paid parking lot right next to this Kinton location in North York and is super close walking distance from Empress Walk if you're coming by subway!

My favourite ramen place in the city! I came here more than 5 times. Great service and comfortable atmosphere to share with friends and family. I ordered the spicy garlic pork with thin noodle and it was delicious. The soup base was so rich and flavourful !! My friend ordered spicy garlic beef and we both think that pork is better

Ramen had good flavour and service was good. Decent amount of toppings. Coat rack at the front is a nice touch.

It's been a while since my first visit here and the quality certainly has changed for the worse. The previous owners had the chicken soup base fully flavored. It was like consuming 12 chickens compressed into 1 bowl of soup. Amazing. Unfortunately this time around I don't taste any chicken! We had the jalapeno and original chicken ramen and original pork. All tasted of white pepper. For this reason I wouldn't come back. The service is good. Staff is polite, attentive and quick. The restaurant itself has the same rustic, casual vibe too.

Usually I have a great time at Kinton but for sure this was not my favourite location. It's very small. Consider only going in groups of 2-3. We went an hour and a half before close. I could tell they did not want our group there (group of 8) they only have one table that fits 8 (the rest is 2 or singles) there was a party or 3 sitting at the larger table. I told the server we would wait since they were done paying.... But the group refused to leave. We could not wait anymore and we're seated at the bar. I heard a server say she just didn't want us to sit there because she wanted to close her section. Okay. Told us she can only max split the bill 4 ways due to large group but in the end just wanted to get us out and have us all single to not slow down who was paying for who. IMO get a bigger location or don't take big groups? Food was good but I felt it was saltier than the other locations. I know we were a large group but food came out very scattered and up to 5 minutes apart. Bathrooms were clean which was nice. SHANISE was wonderful and I wish more staff were as friendly and welcoming as she was.

Got the pork spicy garlic broth but sub the pork with chicken and add-on beef!

Love all the Kinton ramen locations. This location is one of the smaller ones, but adds a nice cozy home-feel to it. As for the servers, they're as lovely and nice as they can be without being too over-bearing (looking at you, servers who ask us one too many times if we want water refills)

Another ramen place @kintonramen they just launched their BEEF SPICY GARLIC RAMEN 10/10. Karaage chicken can be better. Chicken donburi had strong flavour of sea weed but otherwise it was tasty.

Their latest addition to the menu: burnt shoyu ramen is bomb. The garlic flavor was just enough and the umami from the burnt shoyu is rich! I'd argue its their best broth so far...

KINTON RAMEN Another ramen spot checked off the list . . . Shoyu Pork Ramen with thick noodles 4/5 . First time trying Kinton and I really enjoyed it. The noodle firmness was perfect - a little hard so there's a chew to it. The broth was flavourful and not too salty. It is a little strange to me how it doesn't come with an egg and that it's extra $. Overall, it was really tasty and will definitely be back!

Came for their 10th anniversary celebration, where bowls were going for $10. Not as good as $5.18 like previous years but it is what it is. Ordered an original pork with thick noodles. The broth is very flavourful. Noodles were incredibly chewy as well. An enjoyable bowl. Not sure if it would be $16 enjoyable though.

two bowls of ramen and a can of soda

This is a review for delivery The meal for two ($27.99) arrives with two ramen, an order of gyoza, and pop that can be upgraded to beer ($2 a can) - you bet we did the upgrade. I would have liked the ability to choose/upgrade the side dish as the citrusy sweet glaze slathered on the gyoza ($4.50 by itself) is not for me. In general, Kinton's dumplings aren't the greatest; after scraping off the sauce what's left is bland, the filling lacking texture and flavour. In the mood for some heat, the pork spicy garlic ramen ($12.95 for just the noodles) certainly hit the spot - right to the back of the throat as you sip the flavourful fragrant broth. The thick noodles went perfectly with it and stayed chewy despite not being consumed right away. In hindsight, the ramen could have used some extra toppings as the base was nothing more than just the garlic, a few slices of pork, and a sprinkling of scallion. I would have like something crunchy, like bean sprouts, and a mound of sweet corn to balance out the spice. Note to self: add-ons are key. My husband was on the right track elevating his bowl with the karaage pork original (additional $3.50 with the combo; $16.45 for just the noodles). I assumed it would be a soggy bust, but the four thick pieces of crispy pork still had a bit of crunch and was oh so juicy. Even as it sat in the broth and the batter soaked in the creamy pork soup, it still tasted good. Way to go Kinton, this karaage ramen is delicious!

Great place for a quick, convenient bowl of noodles!! Very consistent with all the other kinton locations I have been to. I really appreciate that I can always know what to expect when I go to any kinton. Service here was pretty quick on the busy weekend night we stopped by. Staff were really attentive and we were in and out! Perfect for a busy night. In terms of cleanliness, the floor was extremely slippery and the bathrooms were quite unpleasant. Maybe need to up the frequency of cleaning during the busy hours since there are so many more people coming in and out with their wet boots and inconsiderate bathroom habits. Lol

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

Reach ten stamps and you get a free bowl of ramen. - The chashu is excellent! My rating is 4.5 stars. I'm rounding down. Last Tuesday, I had my monthly 7 am meeting with a bunch of technical writing peers from around the world. It's quite the meeting that typically lasts for four hours. Luckily, we ended earlier than usual. It meant that my workday ended at around 3:30 pm. It was perfect, as I had a concert to attend several hours later. Normally, I don't do dinner before a concert. I grab a quick bite to each before I head downtown. This time, since I was done work early, I felt that having an early dinner was worthwhile. I drove downtown and parked in a lot that seems to be my usual spot whenever I'm attending a concert at Massey Hall. My original plan was to find an eatery close to the concert venue. I spotted Hokkaido Ramen Santouka steps away. I wanted ramen! I walked in and there was a sign that said to wait. I had no wait time. A woman and the entire staff greeted me. I asked for a table for me and got one. It was great. Seating between tables and diners is close together. You definitely overhear conversations and you can't help it. The man next to me had stretched his foot under my table. I didn't notice that he was in my space until I uncrossed my leg and my foot hit his. I listened to two friends next to me. The man seemed to take charge over what he and his female friend should eat, which was interesting. He gave the impression that he was an expert until the server came over and he had a ton of questions. It's always fun being an observer and listener. I had no choice but to listen to her dating experiences. I got a menu. I knew what I wanted. My server came over and was ready to take my order. I got these items: - Diet Coke - Miso chachu ramen, with bamboo shoot held - Jammy egg and corn as extra toppings The menu doesn't tell you what ingredients you get in each type of ramen. However, it does come with a photo. I asked how large a large bowl of ramen was. My server was great pointing up to a display of three bowls. I went large. The photo indicated that my miso ramen had bamboo shoots. I'm not a fan of them, so I asked that they be omitted. I also added a jammy egg and corn. I got a cold can of Diet Coke. A frosted glass with ice accompanied it. I was happy. I love an icy cold drink. This one was excellent. I loved that it was extra cold. My bowl of ramen had arrived. I was excited to dive in. My miso chachu ramen was delicious. The miso flavour was on point. I drank most of the broth, which speaks volumes on how yummy it was. The chachu was tender and had the best balance of pork and fattiness. The number of slices was generous. The ramen was chewy and perfectly done. I loved the corn and jammy egg. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed my ramen without these two key toppings. They worked nicely with the green onions. What prevents me from giving this place a perfect rating is flagging a server to get me water, or to frankly flag any staffer for something, such as ordering dessert or getting the bill. It took effort and hand-waving to get their attention. It took two tries to get a glass of water with ice. I was happy when I got some after I had finished my Diet Coke. It was equally as cold and yummy. I ordered dessert. The menu is stuck on each table. I asked what ice cream flavours were available. There were two flavours and I went with matcha. It was rich, creamy, and full of strong matcha flavour. The scoop of ice cream was generous. I loved the small spoon, which allowed this dessert to last a lot longer. I asked for the bill. I got a payment machine. I used my credit card to pay and tip. All was great. I used the washroom before I headed over to explore the downtown area. The washrooms are downstairs. It's an older building, so accessibility is an issue. There are two single-stall washrooms. The one that I used was clean. Because it's an older building, the ceiling is low. I am just shy of six feet in height. I made it without hitting my head on the ceiling. If you are six feet and taller, you'll need to duck to make sure you don't bang your head. Staff say goodbye to you when you leave. It was a nice touch, although I don't know what they are saying to me in Japanese. They could be swearing at me and I wouldn't know. I had a wonderful experience here. If you don't mind sitting close to folks and waving your arms like a maniac to get your server's attention, come here. This ramen joint appeared as a Michelin place in 2017. I can see why. The food quality is excellent. (200)
