We love the konjiki ramen at yonge st and tried this one at yorkdale. Love the vibe cozy and more elevated for sure and fast service. I think they have a new menu and we tried the chicken katsu, and the curry katsu (pork). I love the chicken katsu. This restaurant is known for their ramen, but I went with their oyakodon -- chicken and egg rice bowl. My dish was really delicious and great for somebody who wants to get in their protein. The only critique I had was that my rice was a bit hard still. They were having deals for their udon sets, where if you purchased any of their udon sets, you'd get to choose a drink -- pop or tea, and dessert -- ice cream or a fruit cup. I also ordered the katsu udon. The udon noodles also were a bit undercooked, and I wish the Katsu was larger. Other than that, it was a great and comforting meal. This was my second time visiting Konjiki, and my first at the Yorkdale location--it was a fantastic experience. Everything my friend and I ordered was excellent. We tried the Yuzu Mojito, Whisky Highball, Takoyaki, Tako Wasabi, Wagyu Ramen, Spicy Red Tonkotsu Ramen, and Tori Paitan Ramen. Came here for lunch and decided to order the udon set. Seemed like a pretty good deal - tempura, dashi udon, main, dessert and beverage. We got the gyukatsu (wagyu beef cutlet medium rare) and tonkatsu. The wagyu cutlet was well done, not medium rare. The tempura shrimps were ok, but the batter was quite thick. Their wagyu beef is imported from Japan, whereas the other locations have it imported from the States. I doubt the beef imported from the U.S. is even wagyu. It's cool that there was a chicken ramen exclusive to this location. Delicious and worth trying. They confirmed they don't use msg in their food, so I drank all the broth in my ramen. Not a lot of restaurants are open about this. Service was top notch and it was great they had a server that knew Cantonese. There are bathrooms inside and I found it to be quite clean, which exceeded my expectations since this location is in a mall. I loved eating the vegetarian avocado ramen. It was light but very filling and rich at the same time (which is such a strange way to describe it and yet for some reason makes sense.) the pumpkin was caramelized to the point of meatiness, I don't know how they did that but I appreciate that. The noodles were standard and the soup broth really brought everything together. I could actually taste the creamy avocado. And the porcini mushroom helped bring in more meaty texture and umami flavour. What stole the show was the fried vegetable nuggets. I recommend eating it with the spoon of the creamy soup and gentle kiss of the house chili oil (which has a nice gentle hum of heat and a touch of sweetness, but start small, otherwise you'll choke on the oil like I did). The arugula and the lemon with tomato cut through the creaminess and added an extra layer of freshness. The interior is pretty much like any standard Japanese restaurant, but I appreciate the tile work, it was really pretty and enjoyable to look at while waiting. Menu is mostly your standard ramen options but they also have a good selection of dons (rice bowls). Because we just had ramen the night before we all opted for a rice dish. What was ordered: Mini Chicken Karagge Don Oyako Don Katsu Curry Curry Omelette with Cheese The mini don was slightly larger than a bowl of rice and came with 3 generous pieces of karagge. It was served with a bowl of miso soup and some cabbage salad. Really good deal for what you get. You can also get the mini don with cha su or pork belly. Everything else ordered was really good. Portions are generous. Service was a bit slow and we suspect it was because they were slightly short staffed. There only seem to be 2 employees serving and cleaning tables, 3 if you include the hostess. Didn't know that they opened up a Ramen place in Yorkdale, but I'm not here too often so it was just a nice surprise. Right away looking at the menu, it's a bit pricey and they're trying to do a lot of crazy flavours. It sounded great, but I don't think I was really quite as excited with what arrived at our tables. The gyoza was okay. Nothing really special about it in my honest opinion. My partnered ordered the wagyu beef ramen - just thought we'd treat ourselves tonight. He was pretty happy with it and he said the meat was quite tender. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of meat texture, but I found it was nice. The soup base was a little bland - I wouldn't think it was a broth cooked for hours. I got the more classic black garlic, tonkotsu style ramen. The broth wasn't quite as delicious. A bit on the salty side and lacked a depth of flavour I was craving. It wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. Especially if you're at a certain price point, you expect a bit more. The char sui didn't have much flavour. I think it could have been charr-ed better for caramelizing. I also wasn't a fan of the tomatoes they dropped in the soup. I really love cherry tomatoes, but mixed with that broth was quite off putting. It was a contrast I didn't like. Truffle fries were surprisingly our winner here. I would actually come back and just order that to go. Service was a bit slow here. It was also hard to flag down the same person so we were really just flagging down anyone who made eye contact with us. It took 3 people to finally get some water, which was really annoying because we watched her bring water to literally every table around us getting seated. If we're looking for ramen, I don't think this would be our go-to choice. That being said, it's not bad and it gives shoppers an additional option now. read more

Delicious ramen! This is one of the restaurants that, in my opinion, has some of the best ramen. Their ramen has rich and flavourful broth that does not feel heavy at all. Their noodles are perfectly cooked, not soggy or hard. Their meat slices are tender and--although thin--are packed with flavour. The biggest downside is definitely the portion vs. price. The price is on the high side for ramen places, especially considering the protein amount (2 slices) in each bowl. The bowls (even the large bowl) is not very big. The small and large sizes are different bowl shapes and I would argue they are actually similar in ramen quantity. However, with the heartiness of the broth, you do feel full! It may not quite seem it, but I think you get to at least a satisfying fullness level even if it seems smaller than expected. On the other hand, their other meal sets (like the shrimp tempura rice) are a bit of a let down. They're very simple and potions are stingy compared to what could be offered at the high price point. These meal sets are not particularly unique from other Japanese restaurants, in terms of quality or flavour. I would pass on these, unless you really aren't feeling ramen. These meal sets do seem to be newer to the menu from when I visited prior to the pandemic. read more

This ramen restaurant is my go to spot in Yorkdale. It is super fast with their service. I tried their spicy miso ramen this time and I got to warn you though, their spice level is quite high. I ordered a level 3 and I would say I usually can take spice, but I thought it was quite hot. I did really enjoy their sous vide pork. We actually got their matcha ice cream too for dessert and it really hit the spot. The ramen place was also not very loud and a great spot for both a date or a hangout spot! read more

The chicken kaarage was fresh and worth every penny. Have been passing by for some time now and finally decided to try the signature clam broth ramen. Fair warning, the clam flavor is there despite of the strong truffle aroma, but not in a bad way. It wasn't a fishy smell/taste just clam flavor. So I would not recommend it for those who really can't handle this kind of taste/smell. The braised bamboo shoot is by far the most flavorful I have ever tasted in any ramen. This was a pleasant surprise. We were returning some items to Yorkdale and decided to grab some food afterwards, which meant I needed to pick a restaurant from the mall's surprisingly plentiful list. I'm always down for ramen, so Konjiki Ramen seemed like a no-brainer. I figured we should probably start with an appetizer, so I asked for the Tofu Nuggets but was told they ran out. Okay, so I pivoted to the Chicken Karaage, which they also didn't have. Maybe it would've been faster just to tell me what I can order? Anyway, we wound up getting the Takoyaki ("Traditional 6pc Japanese fried octopus balls") and they were quite tasty. For my main, I decided to get the Smokey Black Tonkotsu Ramen ("Pork bone soup base, sous-vide pork chashu, roasted garlic oil, smoked cherry tomatos, smoked ground pork, vegetables, braised bamboo shoot, spring onion, leek, and pancetta"), mostly because I've never had a ramen with a smokey component. This is one solid bowl of ramen. All the components work very well together, and although the noodles were a little overcooked, I was too distracted by the various flavors to care much. And it was indeed smokey! The smoked cherry tomatoes were especially impressive. If I were a regular Yorkdale visitor, I could definitely see returning to Konjiki in the future. I very much enjoy coming to Konjiki to have ramen, especially the OG location just outside of North York center Station. I remember coming here a few times before covid and ordering from ubereats during covid and I gotta say it's way better enjoying ramen dining in than take out. I usually go for the Original Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen as I prefer a creamy rich broth, they put it in a distinctive red bowl while the clear soup bases are in white bowls. I love the sous vide pork chashu and the noodles are pretty al dente. The only downside is, I wish it came with an egg instead of it being as an add on, been too spoiled with the other ramen places with egg being included in most of their ramens so it was a bit disappointing to see it as an add on instead but oh wells. The chicken Karaages were crispy, tender and juicy which are one of my favorite apps to order. Overall a lovely place to eat but a lot of things can add up to a steep overall bill which can hit pretty hard! read more

Let me start off by saying we've been to another location before and had a much better experience. Although the ramen itself wasn't bad, we just found that the service was lacking and that the bathrooms were gross. We both found that the toppings you get are not reflective of the price you pay. A few bamboo shoots here and there and 2/3 slices of thinly cut chasu. We also got a Karage and that was just bad. It was dry and the side sauce was definitely missing lemon or something. It took forever for us to get our waters and we had to ask several times for it. And when I went to use the bathroom, it was a bad sight. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for days and there was no consistent upkeep. I had to go and use the family bathroom because it was so bad. I'm not sure if it's because this restaurant is in the mall and has a lot of traffic, but I would maybe try the other location for better service and an overall better experience. read more

We ordered regular gyoza, Spicy Red Tonkatsu, Clam Shoyu ramen and strawberry soft serve. Gyoza and the ramen all were short of umami. Gyoza was alright. It had the onion and pork in there but nothing really wowed our palate. Our favorite gyoza experience usually has a crispy side with a burst of that meat juice and oil, but this gyoza lacked that. Both ramen we ordered had the right amount of salt and savory flavor but was missing some sweetness in order to achieve umami. Maybe they forgot to add some sugar. The most disappointing ramen was the Spicy Red Tonkatsu. The peppercorn was not what I expected to exist in what I thought was Japanese ramen. There were fairly bland ground beef (I think it was beef or maybe pork) at the bottom of the bowl, and the chashu was also not flavored much. Overall it tasted like meaty salt soup. Not salty, but just missing some other seasoning. We were looking forward to the Hokkaido and Hojicha soft serve but it was sold out. The strawberry soft serve did not redeem itself. The strawberry flavor tasted like cheap ice pop. Luckily we didn't order it on a waffle cone because that would've been a worse experience. Last but not least, our server bust our table in an odd manner: they poured one bowl of ramen into the other bowl right in front of us before they took away the dishes. It was an unsanitary experience (or rather, we shouldn't have experience that at all). What if that soup splashed onto the customer's shirt? We paid around $76 tip included. The ambiance is really nice I love the mosaic wall . It has a modern Japanese feel. The COVID rules are strictly followed through checking of proof of vaccinations.
