Tip: The mall entrance to Kinton Ramen was closed when I was there in March 2026. Instead, I had to exit the mall and go through its separate restaurant entrance. I'm a tad surprised that this Kinton Ramen got not-so-stellar reviews as of late. In contrast, I had a fabulous experience. My worst experience at any Kinton has been its Richmond Hill location. Staff got my order wrong, fished out bamboo shoot that I clearly stated that I didn't want, and did not care if I may or may not have a food allergy by giving me the same bowl of ramen. I had come to CF Markville Mall to pick up an order at Swarovski. I used mall entrance 1 to get there. I passed by this Kinton Ramen on my way over. I was ready for an early dinner. It was probably 4 pm on a Monday. I drove over here from my workplace in Mississauga. I thought that it would be great to give this eatery a try. The only downside is that you don't have mall access to this eatery. If you're in the mall, you have to to exit it through entrance 1 and then use the separate Kinton Ramen entrance. It's a bit inconvenient. I'd probably be more annoyed if I had a ton of shopping bags full of goods and winds were at 80 km/h for me to exit the mall and get into this eatery. Luckily, it was a nice day and I had a small bag. I entered the eatery and was greeted immediately by a female staffer. I asked for a table and got one with a view of Churchill's Cigar and Gift. It was also fun to people-watch as I ate. I looked at the menu. The burnt shoyu ramen looked good. I lucked out, as this ramen was a part of a Kinton combo. Yes! I got these items as part of my combo: - Sparkling yuzu lemonade - Pork gyoza (4) - Burnt shoyu with thick ramen and corn I got a cup with cold water. It was refreshing and much needed. It was refilled regularly. I am a fan of sparkling drinks. I love yuzu. Put them in a lemonade and I am happy. The sparkling yuzu lemonade was excellent. Yuzu has a more subtle lemony flavour that is so refreshing. It felt fancy having fizzy lemonade. I loved this drink so much. The pork gyoza came out next. I got four of them. They were deep-fried. The pork filling was yummy. I loved my bowl of burnt shoyu ramen. The thick ramen noodles were chewy and perfect. The chashu was delicious and flavourful. I loved the dry seaweed, corn, jammy egg, scallions, bean sprouts, and garlic chips. There was a mild burnt flavour to the pork broth that was nice. I couldn't fit dessert in. I was stuffed. I paid my bill at the table with a credit card. I tapped the machine with my card and was done. I used the washroom before I left. It was fancy, from the sink, to complimentary mouthwash. As I was leaving this eatery, I saw a pickup window for takeout orders. It was cool. I like this Kinton a lot. Staff were friendly and competent. The food and drink were excellent. I'll be back. My wife and I visited yesterday and had a very mixed experience. While our server, Anthony, was exceptionally polite and professional, the management's approach was disappointing and lacked basic hospitality logic. ​Upon arrival, we were placed at a tiny table with no room for our bulky winter jackets. Seeing many open two-seater benches (which most other couples were already using), we asked Anthony if we could move to one of those. He kindly accommodated us. However, it was clear the manager reprimanded him for this. Anthony was then sent back to tell us this was a "one-time exception" because they needed to save those seats for potential parties of eight. ​As a retired manager with over 30 years of experience in different industries, I found this poorly handled for a few reasons: ​Management hiding: The manager should have come to speak with us directly rather than sending a server to deliver an unwelcoming "warning" to seated guests. ​Inconsistency: While we were being told we shouldn't sit there, several other groups of two were seated at the same type of benches without being given any "lecture" or warning. ​Atmosphere: No party of eight ever arrived. Threatening guests with "next time" rules over hypothetical customers is a quick way to lose real ones. ​A bright spot: Anthony was extremely polite, professional, and did nothing wrong. In fact, he showed more potential for leadership than the person currently in charge. I still tipped because he handled a difficult situation with grace (although not my usual 15%+ tipping habit as I still feel frustrated). However, the franchise owner should seriously evaluate if the current management style is driving away loyal/new customers, their "crisis management" actually created a problem where there wasn't one. ​We likely won't be back--not because of the service or the food, but because of the cold atmosphere created by the leadership. read more

Located inside Markville Mall, Kinton Ramen is one of the new-ish spots in the mall to open. I was really looking forward to trying them out, especially after reading all of the great reviews at some of their other locations. I was at the mall, shopping with the fam. I am not a fan of the food court at the mall - it needs a HUGE overhaul, but not getting into that right now. We decided on Kinton. I went in to order takeout, had a few questions because I have an allergy to mushrooms, I wanted to ask about the broths and ingredients. I was assured there would be caution taken with the prep, also chose a Ramen with no mushrooms in the ingredients. We left to buy some baked goods and returned. Not greeted warmly upon returning. I asked if everything was in the bag, assured yes, the person at the pick up window barely glanced at me. Got home opened the bag. No spoon, no chopsticks. Worst of all was the appearance of the broth and the amount in the huge container they put it in. I thought that this was some sort of joke! My daughter has eaten there many times, she was shocked as well. Plus a little surprised at no spoon or chopsticks, these were in abundance at the pick up window where they bag your food. I called, they brushed me off, said we didn't know you needed these. My response was, if it's takeout, wouldn't you just ask or place them in the bag anyways!? The person on the phone began arguing with me over the portion size that I felt was unsatisfactory for the price and size of container not to mention the lack of service overall. The guy was out arguing - no apology - noting this left me speechless. This matched with the reviews I have read so no longer surprised. On to the Ramen. The broth was oily, severely lacking in any flavour as a result. The amount of broth was a joke in the oversized container. Tried it out and nothing really exciting. A basic ramen chain gives no expectations and no surprises. A very narrow restaurant layout with the door facing the parking lot instead of the mall for operating hours reason. First time trying Kinton Ramen Markville location. There is no mall entrance and outside entrance only. It was during the weekend and wait time was about 15-20 minutes. Simply put your name and number on the wait list then you'll receive a text once table is ready. Same menu as other Kinton Ramen and service was A-OK! Ordered the Beef Spicy Jalapeño and Beer Combo (Pork Spicy Garlic and pint of Sapporo beer). Received our food and drinks in a timely manner with no issues. Flavour was good but nothing outstanding. Other locations I've been to have made it better in my opinion. Overall, relatively consistent ramen in comparison to other locations and matcha cheesecake was a perfect way to end our meal. Hope that their overall quality will improve if I decide to return to this location. read more

I really wanted to give it at least a 4 but the service wasn't stellar. I liked their noodle texture and elasticity! I think it was actually perfect, and a huge improvement from years ago at other Kintons. Kinton is one of the few ramen shops that have ichimi togarashi available. Portion was a little small IMO. I would say I'm OK but my dad is still hungry after his pork original ramen. When we were first seated, I pointed out to the staff that there is a puddle of water by the bench on which we sat, and the girl with glasses said "is there any on the chair?" I said no, just the floor. Then she said ok and left. That puddle did not get cleaned the entire meal, and was still there after we left. Wtf. Also, FLIES. I love the cold and it was FREEZING in this kinton, yet there were still flies. How did they even survive?? I might come back but I hope they ramp up their hygiene game by tenfold. read more

I tried the one in downtown years ago was not too impressed but I see they opened one in Markville recently and I think they revamped the menu. The service was really good waiter was attentive, I ordered the spicy beef garlic ramen with thin noodles and takoyaki. The spicy beef garlic if you don't like spice you will not enjoy. It is spicy and you get a strong garlic flavour, but I really liked it, the beef was cooked to perfection the broth was creamy spicy and subtle and that good heat to it. The noodles were perfect texture, and the broth was amazing. It was sweating. The takoyaki was really good and the waitress was so nice she gave us another one for free. Overall this place is one of the best ramens I've had, I'm not a big fan of ramen because the broth is so salty, but this one hits the perfect spot, if you can't take heat get out of the kitchen. The ambiance is small but inviting you have to go from outside the mall to go in the restaurant, and they have a glass wall inside so people can see I guess it's smart marketing technique. read more

Don't think I'll be coming back to this Markville location. Starting off, you can only access the restaurant from the outside. It's not accessible from the inside of the mall. The place is pretty small, it gets busy so you want to come on a week day or early evening. Our wait wasn't too long so that was great. The service, however, isn't great. The servers here actively avoid eye contact and even when you flag them down, they're not attentive. They have combos available here, but be warned, when I asked our server if we could order any of the ramen for the combo they confirmed we could. HOWEVER, it was only AFTER we ordered that they decided to tell us the combo price ONLY reflects the cheapest option of the ramen selection and prices go up if you don't order the cheapest one. Welp. Whats the point of this combo then? And if that's the case, label that on the menu. We stuck with what we ordered. Flavour of the broth was good, we ordered the spicy pork garlic ramen and the spicy beef garlic ramen. The presentation is less than impressive. The place is small and can only be accessed from outside of CF Markville Mall. Pricing is fair and note that portions are fairly small. So if you're a person with an appetite, you may need to spend more. I thought the taste of my pork shoyu broth wasn't too bad for my choice of ramen. And my choice for thicker noodles was a wise decision. My better half opted for a regular chicken ramen with a thinner noodle choice. She loved the 'bounciness' of the noodles. We were there on a Saturday just prior to noon and there were still a few empty tables available. We didn't have to wait to be seated. But when we were leaving, we noticed quite a few people waiting for tables at the entrance/exit, so it's best to go there at around 11 AM or 11:30 AM. Wait time 10 min on a Saturday 1:30 pm lunch The food was good. I wished the takoyaki had more of the octopus pieces. Each ball was decently big but the filing of the octopus was tiny so the ratio was off. Ramen was good. Broth was hot and protein wasn't dry. The place is SMALL and crammed. No strollers allowed and also you cannot bring any outside food or drinks. Ex. Coffee or bubble tea you got in the mall while waiting. This Kinton Ramen is tucked on the edge of Markville Mall and only accessible from outside, but it's definitely worth the extra few steps. The space is super roomy, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We ordered a meal for two--my usual Pork Spicy Garlic Ramen, plus a gyoza and another Pork Ramen--and everything came out pretty fast. I can attest to the inconsistent level of spice vs. other Kinton locations. In fact, this is the second time it has happened to me. The other time was at their East Gwillimbury location & it is definitely way spicier! I didn't mind it but prefer it the way it should be made. I came here on a Monday night around 6:30 p.m. to place a take-out order. I was greeted not quickly but the wait wasn't too long. The lovely girl there took my order (Spicy Pork Ramen with thick noodles w/added corn). She told me it would be approximately 15 minutes which was what it ended up being around. I love their packaging! At first I thought that they put the broth in the same container as the noodles which is a big no no as the noodles will soak up all the broth but the noodle and the ingredients is actually sitting in another bowl that fits nicely on top of the broth bowl and only has one lid. The other thing I loved was that they gave you a long handle spoon similar to the one when you dine in except that it's plastic. I read all the different reviews saying that this location is not offering any promos during their soft opening such as the Presto promo so I didn't even bother asking. Hopefully in time they will honor this! I will definitely re-visit this location again & dine in to enjoy my bowl of ramen as soon as it's made! read more

Kinton Ramen Commerce Gate, Richmond Hill branch is way better than this one. Didn't take photos as not impressed, music too loud and obstructed conversation. I ordered the signature ramen displayed on the table stand, the ramen was served with minimal condiments, just 2 thin slices of meat, one half-boiled egg and some scallions. The thin noodle is not typical ramen texture, enough noodles to fill the stomach. We won't visit again. read more

Came to this newly open Kinton ramen location inside Markville Mall. The entrance is actually located outside of the mall. Ordered their meal for two ( 2 ramen , 1 side & 2 soft drink ) I like it they have vegetarian ramen option . Certainly a plus for me as I like restaurant that offer vegetarian options.
