8pm on Friday dessert table
Golds V.

This buffet was almost empty, and for good reason. Our evening start off with the hostess that didn't escort us to our table, they pouted to the room we would be sitting in and gave us instructions on how to get to our table. It took forever and a day to have someone show up to order drinks, it would have been faster for me to go to the convenience store buy our drinks come back and drink it before our wait staff came to the table. But it's not their fault, it appear they were managing more than one entire room. This is poor management, your guest service was terrible on on all level, my party had to wait for long periods to get refills. The food also was not good, I had shrimp, which tasted like it was left over from lunch service, and was soggy, I had the lemon chicken, which I don't think was touched throughout the meal service so it was also soggy. The warmers weren't warm, so the food was just above room temp. Most items weren't refilled, until there was one in the bin or zero, and some items they would replace the food with a tray, to say they weren't refilled. The grilled items however were filled. The dessert items were not. They only Had oranges from fruit. They ran out of chocolate covered strawberries, melons, and only had one flavour of jello. Salad was running low, there was more displays of ice on their tables of the buffet for salad and dessert than the actual bowls of food. My guests and I were so disappointed in the quality of food as well. We tried the honey crunchy sticks (basically fried wonton rappers coated in browned melted sugar), this was hard and stale, and soaked on one side with sugar. I was wondering why the place was empty when I walked in, but soon found out what terrible quality of food, lack of refills when food ran out, and slow service was all Contributing this. I brought 7 people and a birthday coupon, and they still charged us for 7 people, and didn't use the birthday coupon they took from us at the door and charged us at $39.99 per person. I have not been so disappointed in the service, quality of food or overall experience. I have never said this before of any restaurant, but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT! IF THERE WAS A ZERO STAR THIS LOCATION EARNED IT.

First time back since covid and happy to say, great service and great food. Totally worth it at 25$ a person for lunch. The food variety is much better imo than other locations ...they have a lot of variety in terms of salad. Can't stop thinking about that eggplant one. Sushi is done well though mostly vegetarian and basic. Roast beef and steak a bit saltier than id like but I wouldn't knock off a star for it. Also two tables of dessert with soft serve. Totally recommend everyone getting the torpedo shrimp while there.

I LOVE the Mandarin, and this location is no exception. It was renovated a short time ago and the dining rooms are all decorated so beautifully! This location is the regular one that I've been coming to with my family for years. The service is always extremely courteous and friendly. The selection of food was wonderful and trays refilled quickly. That is important since I have my set items I like to get, they tend to be popular :) They've expanded their sushi offerings and also offered rib eye steak and full turkey dinner items which was a nice surprise. I finished it all off with a fresh stick of cotton candy. Yummy!

I've been coming here since I was a kid. My family have become accustomed to flocking here for birthdays, celebrations, family dinners, and to take part in the various festivals they have going on here (ex. chinese new years, dumpling festival, moon festival, crab leg festival). This typical occasion was for my brother's birthday + moon festival. When it's your birthday they surprise you with a slice of there chocolate cake from the buffet with a candle in it and get the table to start singing happy birthday to you with them while they snap your picture. You can then pick up your picture on the way put out and they give it to you in a magnetic mandarin frame which you can stick on your fridge! Definitely make reservations when you are coming here or be prepared to wait. Also advise the hostess when making reservations or your waitress if your celebrating a birthday (if you want it acknowledged) but normally they pick up on it. They really go all out at this location with decorations. It's always beautifully designed to accentuate whatever festival they have going on or holiday/season. Upon entry the lobby is decked out with the themed decorations and they have a beautiful koi pond just beyond the front door. Food wise its always fresh and hot and the quality and variety is pretty good also. They have a sushi station where rolls are being prepared live in front of you, the famous crab legs, a carving station with roast beef, grill station with chicken, beef, sausage, and shrimp, lots of chinese foods/rice/noodles, american cuisine including wings, pizza, fries, salad bar, soup station, ice cream bar, and a great variety of desserts! Service is always top notch here! They clear the tables of empty plates promptly and go around keeping glasses and beverages filled. Our waitress was Sylvia and she is always very cheerful and upbeat and wonderful at what she does! Upon arrival she explains about moon festival and takes our drink orders. They have a good selection of cocktails/mocktails here. My favourite Mocktail is the Blueberry Lychee Lemonade - bubbly delicious and fruity! Sylvia takes notice that we are switching from food to dessert and offers to bring tea/coffee. I always order a pot of there Green Tea - very refreshing and mild perfect and comes out piping hot. Perfect combination to go with my rich desserts, which is my favourite part of the meal. Dessert favs include the nanaimo bars, chocolate mousse cups, chocolate covered strawberries and the ice cream bar equipped with hot fudge and chopped peanuts. At the end of the meal Sylvia graciously delivers the bill and hands each of us a hot lemon scented towel and thanks us for coming, we all receive a fortune cookie, and since its moon festival we also all get a little take away gift. Always great service here, hot and fresh quality food. Highlights include the crab legs, sushi bar, chinese foods, fresh grilled meats and good array of desserts and ice cream bar! Also check out the cocktails/mocktails too! Make sure you make reservations as they get really busy Fri-Sun Dinner.

My favorite dishes at this restaurant is the mouth watering prime ribs and crab legs. The servers there are extremely friendly. That's the place where you get value for your money. I went there the other day, the Xmas decor is awesome.

My review will be the casino itself and The Arena, the concert hall at this casino. Last Saturday, Jann Arden played The Arena. It would be my first time visiting this casino and concert venue. I had dinner roughly five minutes away from the casino. I thought that arriving here 45 minutes early would be enough time. Everything did work out with ten minutes left before the show's start time. I recommend coming here an hour early. Parking was a challenge. First, you are fighting your way onto the casino premises by merging two lanes into one. The design isn't necessarily the culprit. It simply can't keep up with volume when there's at least one event here. I tried to find parking outdoors. Nothing. I don't think there were signs to get you to the sheltered parking lot that has five floors. I simply went with my instincts and found it. There are speed bumps along the way. The maximum speed is 30 km/h. I recommend slowing down even more to 20 km/h because the speed bumps are effective. Finding parking was crazy. Everyone was on the first floor. I did a full cycle, which felt like a waste of time. I finally figured out how to get to the second floor. Once I was there, there were plenty of parking spots. I was happy. I recommend backing into a spot, making leaving a lot easier. There are stairs and elevators to get you down to the casino level. There were many. The latter were beautiful and fast. One weird detail is that the major parking lot does not connect to the casino. You are outdoors walking between the two structures. It reminded me of being in grades 7 and 8, dashing from the main building to a portable for French class. I hope that they will consider a tunnel or something to keep patrons protected from the elements. There were vendors when I walked in. They were selling African items. They disappeared after the concert was over, so I am guessing that parking and attendance at this casino was busier than usual. It's pretty easy moving around this resort. I found The Arena immediately. It was next to coat check. The lineup was efficient and straightforward, with friendly staff guiding you. You do go through a purse check. I had a small purse, so I opened it and security was good with it. I then had my ticket scanned off my phone. You basically need to go to the door number that's on your ticket. I could go through door 1 or door 2. I chose the former. I saw doors 1 and 3 on the same side. I used the women's washroom twice. It was nicely designed. The stalls offer plenty of room to bring in a walker in the regular stalls. The washroom was clean and nicely lit. After the show, there was a bit of a wait to use it. The lineup moved swiftly thanks to the number of stalls. At door 1, I had the nicest usher let me know where my seat was. The seat numbers are between seats. They are difficult to see when folks are seated. I asked two different folks what their seat numbers were and finally found my spot. The Arena is an awesome venue. There was plenty of legroom. If someone needs to walk by, you don't need to get up. Yay! I was five rows away from the stage. I was almost dead centre. The view was great. The sound was fabulous. It's a huge venue. I had an excellent time. To make a long story short, I had visited the Shorelines Casino in Belleville before the pandemic and had a rewards card. Shorelines rolled out a new rewards program within the last year and assigned me a member number. I didn't know what to do with it (can't log on online and didn't receive a replacement card), so I headed to guest services. I got Lorraine. I loved her subtle purple hair. She was amazing. She asked for my ID (I provided my passport) and she found me in the system. She got me a new rewards card with a bungee cord. She looked into my account and said that I have $10 to spend at any food or drink vendor. Nice! I also have a discount to stay at the Pickering or Peterborough casino locations. Doubly nice! Lorraine was awesome! I had a great experience. I quickly checked out the casino. The floor was buzzing with activity! I used to work in the gaming industry. I oddly don't play games much at casinos, but do like the slot machines. You get free drinks while you play, which is a nice touch. I then headed to The District, which is your food court. Starbucks was open and looked nice. There was also an Asian stand, Sun Express, that's open 24 hours every day. It's perfect for those staying at the hotel, and patrons who want bubble tea and decent food offerings, such as beef noodle soup. As expected, it did take some time to exit the parking lot from the second floor and head home. There was a police officer guiding traffic. Traffic needs help, but I don't know what more can be done there. It's all volume. I love this casino and concert venue. Staff were friendly. I'll be back! (211)

I don't know why the hate for this place - perhaps in the classic buffet days the food was bad, but perhaps the shift to buffet at the table (aka a la carte buffet) improved the food quality greatly. The menu is actually reasonably 'authentic' - there isn't much Americanised Chinese food here. Hot & sour soup was decent. There was quite a lot stuff in it. It was quite spicy. The fried oyster was dry and didn't have much flavour. The BBQ spare rib was ok but was hard to eat with the provided plastic cutlery. Plus, the bone fragmented quite a bit which was unpleasant. The breaded shrimps were decent. Pan fried pork chop was a bit plain though it was fried pretty well. Lobster (for the weekend buffet - limit of 1) was a little small but was really good. Again plastic cutlery made eating this a pain. Salt & spicy shrimp was decent. Shrimp dumpling (har gao) was somewhat mushy - not good. Shrimp salad was just boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce; the shrimp was good quality but the style was a little boring. Steamed scallop with garlic came in its shell and was decent. Shanghai noodles was OK; the portion was a little too big for AYCE. The black pepper beef was decent. The curry fishball was awful - rubbery, with curry sauce that tasted like a mix of chili and something used to clean the kitchen. General Tso's chicken was so-so. It wasn't very crispy & had a bit too much dark soy sauce which threw off the balance with the sweet, sour & spicy flavour. The custard bun tasted pretty good - there was enough custard & it was rich, though it wasn't very liquid (even when hot it wasn't a liquid). The BBQ chicken leg was ok - it was crispy and had a soy sauce flavour. Salt & spicy squid was ok, though the squid was a bit soft. The steamed fish was surprisingly good - it was fresh, good quality fish & was quite fragrant. The green beans were fresh, light & retained their bounce, though they could have done with more smoky wok flavour. Sauteed cabbage with chili was decent. The spicy wings were only slightly spicy & were crispy & tasty. Fish-flavoured eggplant was pretty good (and I don't even like eggplant). It  was fragrant with a hint of spiciness. Honey garlic spare ribs were decent - a bit better than BBQ spare ribs, though a touch tough. The desserts weren't very good. Golden Wantons were just fried dough - crispy with a bit of sweet sauce. They were fresh and good. Mini cake was cheesecake but I could see the ice crystals - it hadn't been properly defrosted. It had been taken from the freezer and was dry. The biscuit wa a palmier and it wasn't flaky and was even a bit moist (i.e. bad). The cookie was so-so. The ice cream was green tea flavoured and was ok - there were some ice crystals but it tasted OK. Sweet taro tapioca was actually sago with taro and was okay. The sesame ball was ok - fresh & crispy but with not much stuffing, plus it was mung bean and only passable.

Although Daal Roti has been open for four years now, and is very close to home, this was my first time dining here. The food was decent but it wasn't very warm, and appeared a bit sparse. My favourites included the Mutton Curry and the Butter Chicken. A couple of the veggie dishes were also good but I don't know the names of them. Sadly, the Tandoori Chicken was very dry. Overall, the food was just okay It was raining outside and this floor was SLIPPPERY. I mean dangerously slippery, like walking on ice. Thank goodness I was able to maintain my balance. I had scrolled through their Instagram and really loved the fact that I could get Thali here! It takes me back to when I would got for a curry in England. There's just something about all the little dishes with flavourful treats that just makes me happy. We arrived shortly after 1pm on a Friday and there was just one other couple in the restaurant. There's not a lot of seating so I would imagine this place is bustling on the weekends with their buffet. The restaurant is tidy and the gentleman who served us was really nice and very helpful. After looking at the menu and having a chat with the waiter, I opted for the non-veg Thali. Apparently, it's normally a takeaway dish but for an additional $2, you can have it in the restaurant. So, we had assumed the reason for the extra couple of quid was because they would be using proper dishes and the extra labour for cleaning that, etc. etc.. Apparently not. We were both taken aback when our lunch was served to us in a plastic takeaway container. I'm not going to lie, it was a little disappointing. Part of dining out at a restaurant is the experience and plastic just doesn't cut it. The food was really good and there certainly was plenty of it. We were both satisfied with our lunch and I would definitely come back again to try other dishes. I'm not sure I would order this dish again though, given the presentation. Because of that, I can only give this restaurant a 3-star at this time.
