Hyderabad Palace - Tandoori masala

Location is near by two other rivals - silver spoon and Babus. Yet this restaurant manages to find…read moreits own customers. It's a small hole in the wall kind of store selling Hyderabad specialities. We decided to try chicken Biriyani here along with Tandoori masala. Both the dishes were pretty bland and felt completely flavorless. I also found lot of people queuing up for hot chai while they ordered their dinner/ lunch from nearby. We also tried that hot chai and it was the best. May be chai is one of the few reasons this restaurant manages to get customers inside its doors amongst heavy competition.

Sorry I was too hungry so I didn't take any photos :( I am upset because it was ALL so delicious…read more This is what I ordered: Special Biryani (which comes with a bunch of chicken 65 and three pieces of biryani chicken) - spicy, delicious, so much food only for $12!! The rice to meat ratio is wild! I was actually missing some rice haha for the first time, I wish there was more rice because they are very generous with meat portions Haryali Chicken - I thought this was a BBQ dish but it was a gravy dish which was well made. The flavour notes were mint, cilantro and cream. So great! I've never had Haryali Chicken in a gravy style dish. Mutton Haleem - we liked this as well. It's not as stringy as some other places. You can definitely taste the mutton flavour here! Naan - can't go wrong with naan! It's super fresh, fluffyyyy and hot! While we waited for our order, I chatted briefly with the owner. He was really nice. He even offered us some Irani Chai, a welcome treat in the cold winter. We waited outside while drinking hot chai sweetened with condense milk (yum!!). He didn't let us pay for the chai which was a very kind gesture! COVID: Masks on for guests and staff are being a glass/plastic barrier, no masks on staff.

I recently got together with old friends from high school for a vegetarian lunch at Saravanaa…read moreBhavan, located at Woodside Square in our old neighbourhood. Although only one of us was vegetarian, we all decided to try this place. That's the type of friendship we have. We support each other. I'm glad we decided to do this because the food was actually quite good. I personally didn't miss having meat. I don't think any of us did. The delicious flavours of the food had us all more than satisfied. The menu at this place is huge, with tons of choices and options. It took us a while to decide on what to order. There was some confusion when the food arrived because we couldn't remember what we ordered and we didn't know what the dishes are supposed to look like but we eventually got it all sorted out. Whether you're a vegetarian, or just want to try vegetarian dishes, make your way over to Saravanaa Bhavan. They have several locations in the GTA.

Oh well! Samosa World is actually in the food court, and I think the Google Maps hours might be off since they seem to open closer to noon. During these high-inflation times, their prices are a steal! Samosas are 2-3 for $1, and rolls are $1 each. While the meat samosas do have a lot of potato in the filling, I really can't complain at this price point. Everything had a nice slight spicy kick to it. I'll definitely be stopping by again!

In addition to…read morethe salad and crispy chicken we added a order of: Spring Rolls - love the way they come in little rolls as opposed to 2 large ones cut in half; perfectly crispy Bone Marrow Carbonara - unfortunately this was a miss. It's basically carbonara pasta with bone marrow you scrape off from the bone. Sauce wasn't very flavourful and a bit too watered down. Still a good second visit.

I found it funny cause almost every item has the "favourite" symbol but everything tastes good! I love the decor inside. Lots of lights, florals and greenery. There is limited seating though since it gets busy - Maybe 10 tables of 4 on the outside perimeter and another 5 tables of 4 on the inside. We got the razor clams, 12 wings and beer special (after 8:30pm), smoked beet and pig ear salad, brisket and ribs and bun bo hue. The 12 wings and beer would have been such a good deal except the drink was pretty watered down. We brought it up to the waitress so hopefully they change that in the future. The wings were crispy,m and delicious. The razor clams tasted good too, but it only comes with 4. The smoked beet and pig eat salad was one of our favourites! Unique, flavourful and good crunchy textured. The brisket and ribs were another favourite. Tender and flavourful. The bun bo hue was good too. Service could have been better. One of the waiters wasn't that friendly. We still had a good time though and enjoyed the food. I would come back to try their other dishes.
