Premium is one of the best bengali restaurants in Scarborough. However, their quantity has gone down since the past one year. They used to serve the curry item on the side but now they have started adding it on top of the rice item and it seemed like the quantity has deteriorated. Same with their paratha, the size of the paratha used to be pretty good and it used to be ghee paratha but now it seems like a regular store bought frozen paratha fried with a little ghee. Their taste is the only thing consistent which actually makes us go back but it's sad to see that there's been so many changes. The butter chicken is amazing here. Their butter chicken is towards the sweet side and it's not spicy at all. Super creamy and it's delicious with their fresh naan. The chicken kebab was super juicy and the white sauce is great with the chicken. The Kalo was really good when it's hot but it got really salty when it cools down. It has a great kick for the dish just too salty for my taste. The beef was tender! I took off one star because of the restaurant was really cold. Excellent selection of Bangladeshi sweets, although I really wish they carried Kacha Golla. We weren't familiar with all the sweets by name or looks, so the lady behind the counter set up multiple (and I mean 7 different) samples for me and my husband. It's nice to finally have a well-established Bengali restaurant in Toronto, especially backed by a reliable brand. My parents have dined here a couple of times and they genuinely like the food. Note: although the food is quite authentic, most items on the menu are quite rich; then again, Bengali cuisine is rice-heavy. My recent and only visit have been in a party of 8, family dinner. ***Service*** It seems service has never been a top priority at any Bengali restaurants I've been to, but I will say, they made an effort here. Upon arrival, they took us to the second-floor dining space, which was nice. Although taking us past the busing station with open garbage pails; cover that up, guys! Since we were the only table on the second floor for the first half hour or so, we were a little neglected. Then the second floor filled up and the servers were running around trying to cover all the tables. I think they could benefit from hiring more staff. ***The Food*** Unfortunately, they ran out of some popular items before dinner service (Sunday) which was disappointing. I understand that restaurants sell out, which is a good sign... but before dinner service? That indicates poor kitchen management to me. Regardless, the food was great! Tasted quite authentic as my mom's or many aunties. Only downside, we didn't get to try things we were really interested in. If you are South Asian, then you will know what to order, I don't have to tell you. And if this is a new cuisine for you, try something new! The kacchi biryani, Akhni, and Pulao Roast are quite popular, so I recommend those. Oh and Doi Fuchka - just do it. Maybe a couple orders. Overall, I like it here. A great place for Bangladeshi / Indian food. It's the newly opened second branch of Premium Sweets (the other one is in Mississauga). Nicely decorated interior, clean and moderately spacious. The staff are really nice, offers great services with smile. It has a wide choice of foods, starting from curries, biriyani, tehari, sweets and street foods. The taste and quality is really good, much higher than average. Definitely recommend if someone is craving for good Bangladeshi / Indian food. I heard do this place for a while I tasted their sweets and they are legendary we had dhoi Bhora, Jaal Mori, Maraf palao, goat Kachi biryani, achar khicuri, dessert Khmer toast. Every time we come to visit canada we have to stop here with family. The ambiance is spectacular as always gives you the modern take on everything while having the bangladeshi hospitality. The waiter and staff were all respectful and addressed all our needs We ordered the butter chicken, lamb shank, walima roast, fuckha, jaal chot poti, chicken kebab. The walima roast never disappoints and is consistent. The butter chicken was great and better than bhabis bhorta place. The lamb shank was the right spicy kick and tender. I was amazed at how less gamey it was compared to all the other lamb shanks ive had at other places. The fuchka and chot poti were great as well and met all the expectations. Really Nice Decor and exceptional service. This was a really good representation of Bangladeshi Cuisine I tried the Haleem- it was pretty standard affair and low on the spice level. Also ordered the Achari Khichuri- was delicious and done perfectly. Except there was tons and tons of mango achar in it...The Bhuna Gosht was done really well however my friends did say it was a bit dry. However it did compliment the Khichuri well. The place was nice but the service is super slow that's the reason why I give it a 3 star. We got there at around 8:30pm and although they have some tables available we are told to wait 10mins which is no problem but then it turned out to be 20mins which is still good but waiting for our food for 1hr is just a little too much for us but the service is nice at least. Butter Chicken w/rice Pulao - for $15.99 this dish is nothing special. The butter chicken is a little saltier on my taste but it had big chunks of chicken. The Pulao rice comes with a small hair on it but at this point we are too hungry to complain. The pulao is just plain. Prime Rib Steak - This one is cook to perfection. We ordered rare and they know how to cook steak so for $26.99, this is worth it as it comes with side vegetables and mashed potatoes. Mango Lassi - this is also nothing special for $5.99. It's just basically pureed mango with milk and it's not even that cold. Mutton Rezala - we originally ordered a mutton halim but it was sold out so the server suggested this one. For a side order it cost $10.99 but it is all worth it. The curry and the coconut blended well and the spice is just enough. The meat are super tender. Garlic Naan- we originally ordered cheese naan but it was also sold out. This one is just a regular garlic nasm for $2.75 Gulab Jamun - this one is complimentary by our server i guess for all the wait. It's kind of interesting for me as i have not tried this dessert warm. The one they have is kinda doughy. All in all if you have lots of time for dinner, this place is worth a try. read more

This place represents our Bengali culture very well. Let's talk about their food and sweets. Sweet: fresh, tasty and authentic. But too pricey. Food: I tried Moughlai Paratha and Morog Polao (Bengali style Chicken Pilaf). Moughlai Paratha was not similar what we get in Kolkata. There was almost no filling, just a thin layer of egg and on side only some gravy. It's not recommended. Morog Polao was really tasty and authentic. Quantity was good but again too costly. There's a moment in your life when you take a bite of food and you know that you will be dreaming about it for days to come. That's how I felt when I took the first bite of the Elish Pulao. It was perfect- a giant piece of Elish that was soft, full of flavor, the perfect rice and sauce combo and melt in your mouth tasty. I sadly only got one portion (which is what I ordered) and I wish I had gotten more. I will be coming back for this dish alone. We also got milk tea (Bengali cha) which was the perfect amount of sweetness. It was made in front of us and it was strong! Just the way I like it. We also ordered kala bhuna and chicken kebabs with naan. My husband was very satisfied with his meal and he had no complaints - which is high praise from him. Lastly, we got an order of chicken samosas. So flavorful, it tasted just like the samosas in Bangladesh. We took home some mistis- didn't eat any yet. It's a new location and has a lot of Bangladeshis visiting the place (Premium is a famous brand out there). It has sweets, snacks & meals. The staff is super attentive however it gets crowded and confusing as there are folks who are there just to buy sweet vs folks to dine in. I personally felt that the tables are too close to each other and that makes it a crowded place. Items like Biryani are priced on par with restaurants that have just dine-in which I thought was quite high. There is some space on the floor above which could be used. Overall, the place needs to make sure that it justifies the high pricing with the service, food, and setting. read more

So we heard a lot about this place and their food, so we wanted to check this place out. We traveled from Buffalo, NY to Toronto just to eat at this place, (yes, we are foodies :o)) We checked the hours to make sure that they are open and it indicated on their website and on yelp that they place is open till 8pm. However, when we arrived at 5pm, the place was closed due to a private party. Nowhere on their website did it indicate that the place is going to be closed. Since we traveled really far to come here, we asked if they would take our order for a take out. But not only did they refuse, but they were very rude about it. It was not only us. There were many people that came with their families to have dinner and they were turned away as well, and again, very rude customer service when indicating that their website is not updated about the early close. They could have been apologetic that they did not want to be bothered. It seems like they just don't care about their customers. There are so many restaurants in Toronto that the next time we visit, this will definitely not be one that we come to. Extremely disappointed. read more

I was expecting yet another BASIC desi restaurant and here I was BLOWN AWAY by the modern interior, inviting ambiance, and most importantly mouth watering food!!! My husband (a Bengali from Kolkata) and I (a non Bengali) really likes the sweets and food from there. We have had the weekend Bengali breakfast a few times and have tried the Adi chicken biryani and the Walima roast and everything was spectacular. It sure felt like I was at a wedding in Bangladesh, owning to how rich the food was! And the sweets! Everything is amazingly fresh and perfect. We tried dal and chal at premium sweets for the first time today. Ordered online and drove all the way to lebovic to pick it up. Unfortunately the food was a total dissapointment. Food is delicious, you can tell it's very rich in flavour and the chef is great. I had the Chicken Shish kabob plate and the serving size was huge.
