Up until recently, I used to work right across the street from this place. Perhaps a bit surprisingly, I didn't come here too often as they sometimes opened a bit late for lunch (outside their posted hours) so I began to forget to think of coming there. To be fair, that was some time ago and perhaps they are now more consistent with their opening times. I was back yesterday and I can say that the interior looks MUCH better than it used to. I wouldn't quite call it elegant, but it is very nicely decorated which is a huge jump from where they were before which had been almost dive-y. The exterior and general industrial neighbourhood isn't the nicest, but you will see a big change once you step inside. Note that it's a mini-chain of sorts, as they have at least a couple other locations in Brampton - including one on Kennedy barely more than 1KM away. In fact, The Star's Amy Pataki recently reviewed that place and raved about it. They're also open until quite late - beyond midnight I believe and they're also licensed. Anyway, you can expect a lot of the familiar items you'd expect from Punjabi cuisine. They also do wraps too - which I'm unsure whether it's traditional or not, but it's effectively tandoori chicken and onion wrapped in fresh naan. There might a few other places I give a bit of a nod of this place, but it's still good nonetheless and good for the Dhabha experience since it is indeed right on a trucking route. read more

I've ordered from this restaurant 2 times and it has been the worst experience. The first time they made me wait one hour for my food and didn't even care about making my order until I reminded them. Now, a few days ago I ordered fish pakoras and OMG, it was like a pool of oil in every bit, like they refried the fish multiple times. They didn't provide any sides which restaurants usually do with an order of pakoras and it was like they were made out of rubber. We had to throw some away because they were that bad. My friend and I drove out to Brampton for some good Indian food, as we had heard that there was a sizable Indian population here and we wanted to go for a drive. This was one of the few places still open when we got here a little before midnight on Saturday. When you go in, there are two doors. Go to the left if you want the lounge, or to the right for the actual dining area. We went to the right. We ordered a couple things to share: -half order of the tandoori chicken ($8.99) - this was good but a little too spicy for me. I could only eat a couple bites -egg bhurji ($9.99) - this dish saved my butt during this meal. I've never had this dish before (it's essentially scrambled eggs, Indian style) but it was not spicy at all, thank god! -chicken biryani ($9.99) - way too spicy for me. I ate one or two bites and my mouth exploded with spicyness. Also I wasn't a fan of the chicken...it was cut into overly large pieces and tasted pretty dry. The first time they opened it was out of this world, then they expanded... BIG mistake no HUGE booboo, they often lack quality and it shows in their food, along with that they would have to downsize the hours a 24 hour joint is a bit much for a prestigious establishment. This is a hole in the wall place that mimics the typical dhabha experience. Do not expect fancy decor, clean interiors and great service. Their food is always a hit or miss. Having been here about 4-5 times, cannot say any of the experiences were similar. Food is ok, some dishes are always better than the other. The panner sizzler is always enticing to see when brought out but taste is very poor. The cheese is never marinated and masala just poured over. The Thalis are decent, portion is small though. Dal makhani and Amritsari kulcha channa were delicious. I think you have to be very careful around what you order, go with tried and tested dishes and it will be good. This is one of those hole in walls with delicious food. Don't expect fancy anything. They have two dining areas. Enter left door if ur a truck driver or a group of uncle ji's. Enter right for family dining. I was in family since it was my cousin and I. They are quick On taking your order and even bring u a decent plate of chutney and an Indian salad. We order the lamb chops, sizzling and full of flavour. I had to start with the butter chicken. It was good but next time I'd get the chicken tikka masala only because I need my food spicy. And then we got some garlic naan which complimented the butter chicken perfectly. It was light crispy and soft. They even have a tv with Bhangra beats. Between two ppl it was $25. So it's cheap. I don't like kabobs much but the chicken kabobs at king tandoori are very, very good. Butter naan with the kabobs taste amazing together. I also had their palak paneer with dahi and I must say that I've never been so satisfied with every single dish at an Indian restaurant. The service was really tentative as well. The food was simply amazing, plenty of food for our guests and service was exceptional and timely. Some of the fan favorites were the chili chicken, paneer makhani, garlic and tandoori naan. I used to visit this place regularly. For the last few months both taste and service is going down every passing month. They just have 1 server and food is taking long time to cook. This Indian Restaurant is a hidden gem! It is extremely under-rated and deserves praise. It is in a run down plaza but the food is amazing, the spices and flavours are delicious and trigger your tastebuds to flavours never experienced before. The kebabs, fish and chicken are all great choices as it comes fresh to the table on a sizzling iron skillet. The butter chicken, goat meat is so tender and tasty. They are really good value and not overpriced. Their naan kebab special at lunch is only $5 and hits the spot. Their alcohol servings are quite generous compared to the avg restaurant.
