Good service and great food. I really like the little cracker appetizer. Make sure you get the dips with them. Delicious! I've been a few times now and I always get something different. I discovered them when they were voted #1 for butter chicken in the annex magazine. It was very good! Most recently I tried the lunch meal (I think Thalis) which was like a cafeteria tray with different sections. You get to pick the protein and the style. Everything was very tasty but some things were super hot while others weren't (I was a little disappointed the fried veg was a bit cold). The rice pudding it comes with is also tasty. I'd recommend the garlic naan, the butter chicken, and the madras. I like the medium hot spice level.

I've been to Banjara's neighbouring competition a few times now so I was hesitant to try this restaurant however I was so glad I did! My brother and I both got a thali which came with rice, naan, daal curry, aloo gobi, veggie pakora, rice pudding and choice of a curry. I got the palak paneer which came with a very generous portion of their spinach curry with a good amount of paneer! It was so flavourful and I loved it. I also enjoyed how hearty and filling the daal curry and aloo gobi was. The veggie pakora was still crispy and hot when it came out. They give a good amount of rice as well. It was also my first time trying the rice pudding and it was really good. Love how the spices come through. The restaurant feels a bit fine-dining and also humble as well. Our server this afternoon was really nice and friendly. Would totally return for another thali!

Food here was okay but the service was so slow and not very friendly, which made the experience not so enjoyable :( We were never checked up on during the meal and had a tough time flagging someone down to get more water and the check. I ordered the saag chicken, which was a pretty big portion with a generous amount of chicken. Chicken wasn't dry at all which was nice. The paratha was a lot doughier (less flaky) than I expected. Ambiance inside is fine but we did witness someone get escorted out of the bathrooms by the police which was unsettling.

Went with a group of friends yesterday to enjoy the feel of indoor dining before it all goes away again. This place serves a variety on non veg Indian curries from butter chicken to chicken madrass and have quick service. What we ordered:- Appetiser: Full Chicken Tandoori- served as a sizzler on your table with mint and imlii chutney. The taste was on point! Haughty recommended Mains & Breads: Butter chicken, Chicken Madrass, Mutton curry and paneer lababdaar with some naans and laccha parantha. All the curries were on point, very tasty. I wish the quantity served was a bit more. I loved the taste and size of their breads. I highly recommend ordering ka ja parantha and naans from here they are the best and freshest I have eaten in the area yet. Cost: We were a group of 6 and it costed us around $26 per head. Which is pretty economical in downtown and I was absolutely satisfied with the quality and taste of the food.

Got delivery during Covid. It's very affordable and you get a lot of food. The food in the pic lasted an entire weekend! Will definitely order again. Oh and last but not least, all the food was delicious!

Haven't been able to give Yelp enough lovin with everything going on so I think this review is long overdue. Amazing Indian food on the cusp of Korea town. I have come here again and again, and will keep coming back again and again. I've already made plans with friends to visit together once things are better and can't wait! I enjoy variety so I always get the combo platters. All their combo platters come with your choice of main (meat/veggie) along with rice, naan, daal curry, aloo gobi, veggie pakora and ricepudding. For real, you get all this! My go to is the butter chicken but the lamb vidaloo is also pretty awesome. You can also modify the spice level of your dishes. Other than the great food, I've always received friendly service too. A bonus to drivers who know how difficult it is to find parking downtown: psssst there's free parking here. Banjara, you keep doing you. Heartheart

Banjara is a great spot for a casual dinner. We came on a Friday night and although quite busy, there were tables available for a table for 4. It is a bit pricier from what I remember it to be but we ordered butter chicken, chana masala, aloo gobi and panak paneer. We paired our dishes with naan which was delicious. Service was really great, they were super nice and even let us cut a birthday cake we brought to the restaurant as most places aren't as nice and charge a fee or say no. I'll be back to Banjara if I'm in the area craving for Indian food.

The food was terrible. The lamb beryani lacked flavour and texture. The rice was a bit mushy. Chicken korma curry was also not any better. You can taste the texture of the spices in the sauce, not emulsified well. The flavour wasn't strong. Semosa was greasy and the stuffing wasn't well seasoned Overall this place is very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it at all

The place stays open very late, often until 1AM or even 5:30AM, making it a popular stop for late‑night meals. The space is casual and cozy, with quick service and a menu built around bold spices and rich flavours. S the name implies, the biryani is the star here, offering great taste, aroma, portion sizes, and variety, including spicy regional styles and special trays for groups. Alongside biryani, they offer starters like dynamite gobi, curries, and desserts such as gulab jamun. It's a simple, no‑frills spot where the focus is on flavour, value, and feeding serious biryani cravings.

Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it. All the staff were super nice, and the food came relatively quick. The veggie pakora was super crispy on the outside and it came was a sauce that complimented it perfectly. Shortly after we finished that, everything else came. The chicken tikka was moist and flavourful and the chickpea curry was great but my fav was the butter chicken. The sauce was so good which paired so well with everything, especially the rice and naan. Since it was our first, the owner (I think) offered a dessert on the house but we were so full that we had to decline. I'll definitely be coming back. Their lunch special looks like a great deal too so I'll definitely be coming back to try that!

They gave us a whole garlic naan as it is uncut in the foil and that was very impressive! Really cool that they did that cuz most restaurants just cut it up and give it to you if you want it to go. Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. I needed it a little spicy so added a bit of spice to it and it was perfect. They also had a promotion going on for free samosas with an order of $50 or more.
