We had come here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 1:30 pm for lunch. This was my second time…read morevisiting this restaurant, and I was looking forward to it, as the food was wonderful the first time around. The only thing that I didn't like the first time around, and didn't like this time around either, was the lighting. It was much too dark in the restaurant, even though it was daytime. We were even sitting at a table near the bar, which had potlights however, it was still dark. We were served by Nimrat, whom brought over our menus, and allowed us ample time to order our items. I had settled on butter chicken, with a side order of regular naan, and plain rice. The food took a bit long to arrive however, since there were seven in our group, I understood why the food took longer to prepare. However, once the food came, I was very happy with how delicious everything was! The butter chicken came in a large dish, which was placed on top of a small pot with a flame inside, which kept the butter chicken hot during my entire visit; this was a great addition to the meal! The naan was an excellent accompaniment, along with the plain rice; everything was well-prepared, with the perfect amount of flavouring. It also wasn't spicy, which is perfect for my taste buds; this chef definitely knows how to cook an excellent meal! Nimrat checked on us regularly, filling our glasses with water, and taking away any dishes that we had finished with. Even the owner came by to greet us, and ask how we were enjoying everything. Overall, this place had excellent food, with wonderful service provided by Nimrat, and beautiful décor. The only thing that I didn't like was the lighting however, I would definitely come back.

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

Ok, so I rarely write reviews. I find them a bit of a waste of time, and I'm firmly against writing…read moreone if you dislike the restaurant. Hence why we're here. Well, at first I was a bit on the fence about ordering cause of the vegetarian/vegan menu, I like my meat, love meat, got to have my protein dammit! But wow! was I ever surprised and happy about following my gut and choosing to go there. You see, I'm from Vancouver, and if you know a bit about my hometown is that you know we have a very large asian population. Heck, I'd even go as far as saying it's my second language, (my first language is English and my parents are Chilean...never spoken a word of it) but I've been around it so much somehow, I feel I could get by given the chance. So, by examining the pictures from the online menu, I thought to myself; If the food is anything remotely like the pictures, it looks exactly like my fav spot in Vancouver - Congee Noodle King- also a must try if you're in east Vancouver. Just trust my absent Asian ancestry ok?! I ordered the N65. Fried Noodles with Steamed and Stir-Fried Bean Curd, and as a request asked them to make it spicy to which they happily and kindly obliged. This dish was packed with flavour. Oh em gee! Loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, the noodles were spot on: thin, velvety and a lot of them. Makes for some healthy slurps! Oh, did I mention the meat? No, I didn't, because it didn't have any, and I have never not missed something so much. The crispy fried bean curds tasted like deep fried spare ribs. My pupils dilated a bit. And that's ok cause I went into a food coma, got to heaven and wrote a review about the very first Asian restaurant I try in Toronto and I'm already planning to go back. If you give this place less than 5 stars you don't know food, Asian food or how to speak it so go on and chew on some meat! Thank you for the wonderful and friendly service as well. I shall return. How do you say that in Mandarin? Cheers! - Patricio

I tried their soy chicken drum sticks, kim chi, dumplings, siu mai, and radish cake. My absolute favourite and would recommend is the radish cake!! It is so good. The kim chi was off-putting and was drenched in whatever sauce. The dumplings are also really good as well. I like the layout and aesthetics of the restaurant. One thing to note also was that the employees just seemed miserable. I understand we came an hour before closing but they just seemed miserable and sort of ticked off that we were coming an hour before closing.

This branch was glaringly different. Started off with telling us that our 6 year old needs to pay half bill (whereas in Houston the manager came over and said he can eat from my plate, honestly he eats max 2 chapatis) to having to call the waiters over mostly to get the different items. The food was similar at least. And they had fresh jalebis which we loved. When I asked for extra serving on the rice and dal khichdi it looked like the guy had a hard time believing it. Overall, not the Maharaja Bhog experienced etched in our minds for sure.

Before I run the risk of saying "Brampton finally has a vegan spot", I would be remiss to not…read moreacknowledge that there are numerous Indian restaurants in the city which are either vegetarian or vegan. But for those looking for a vegan spot which serves up largely 'western' food, this definitely fills a void. When I was looking ahead at the menu, it's clear that they put a lot of thought and purpose in their menu. For example, there were a few different types of burgers, but they weren't simply doing their best to impersonate beef such as a soy patty or a 'Beyond' meat. Rather, they were more simple whole foods, such as black bean and mushroom-based. Most vegetarian burgers I've enjoyed most are more like these rather than the former. For a restaurant on the lower end of the cost scale, this would have to be one of the most nicely decorated ones. In fact, quite a bit nicer than many restaurants in a higher price point. A gorgeous open interior with lots of copper features and almost an indoor garden theme. Even the dinnerware for dinning in exceeded anything in the same price point by a long shot. I've always loved wraps and falafel, so it was easy to pick that from their menu. I asked about their falafel and they are baked here rather than fried and they also use carrot in the mix (alone with other components). It was a bit confusing from the menu description however as its called a falafel wrap, but in the description they're called 'carrot keftedes' (Greek meatballs). They definitely most closely resembled a falafel, so maybe they should stick with that - but most importantly they tasted great. Lots of seasoning and flavour which is always great, but especially important when relying less on sauces, oils, etc... for taste compared to conventional dishes. The garlic aioli sauce that went on it was amazing and I'd love to know how they made it since it's of course vegan too. As some said, portions are a bit smaller and that was somewhat true for the wrap - though it was still quite filling. But that wasn't true for the side of cubed sweet potatoes I ordered. They were roasted and then seasoned with salt and pepper. The portion I received could easily be split by two or even more people and still be considered a lot. I have a bigger appetite than most and even then had a full portion for takeout. I'll try and come by more regularly and I hope others do too. If it's really filling a void that many express is in the restaurant industry - and especially in Brampton, then people need to step up and support them.

I ordered the mini size bowl but it was more than enough to fill you. All the ingredients were fresh it's a great choice for people who want a healthier choice. The only thing I didn't like was the smoked tofu pieces, at first I was disappointed because I only got three small pieces but after I tasted it I didn't care. It lacked flavor and did not compliment anything in my bowl. I also got the chocolate zucchini brownie YUM YUM YUM omg. I tried that when I got home I could not believe how chocolatey and creamy it tasted. Its dairy free and vegan crazy I would hoo back just got the brownie. It is pricey though 5.50 for the square. After tax for my mini bowl and brownies paid $17 and change
