We had come here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 1:30 pm for lunch. This was my second time visiting this restaurant, and I was looking forward to it, as the food was wonderful the first time around. The only thing that I didn't like the first time around, and didn't like this time around either, was the lighting. It was much too dark in the restaurant, even though it was daytime. We were even sitting at a table near the bar, which had potlights however, it was still dark. We were served by Nimrat, whom brought over our menus, and allowed us ample time to order our items. I had settled on butter chicken, with a side order of regular naan, and plain rice. The food took a bit long to arrive however, since there were seven in our group, I understood why the food took longer to prepare. However, once the food came, I was very happy with how delicious everything was! The butter chicken came in a large dish, which was placed on top of a small pot with a flame inside, which kept the butter chicken hot during my entire visit; this was a great addition to the meal! The naan was an excellent accompaniment, along with the plain rice; everything was well-prepared, with the perfect amount of flavouring. It also wasn't spicy, which is perfect for my taste buds; this chef definitely knows how to cook an excellent meal! Nimrat checked on us regularly, filling our glasses with water, and taking away any dishes that we had finished with. Even the owner came by to greet us, and ask how we were enjoying everything. Overall, this place had excellent food, with wonderful service provided by Nimrat, and beautiful décor. The only thing that I didn't like was the lighting however, I would definitely come back. read more

For being inside a strip mall I was quite surprised at how stunning this restaurant was inside. They have the main restaurant / bar area as well as a section in the back for private events. Complete with a second fully stocked bar. The drinks are all stunning and they bring the wow factor. I had a great experience here with my family! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. It's the beginning of January and they still have Christmas/New Year's decorations, which are festive but subtle and tasteful, but even without the decorations, the interior is beautiful. The pace of the service was a little slow but nothing extreme, and the staff was polite and knowledgeable about the food, and checked in often to make sure we were enjoying everything. It was very nice of them to pack up our leftovers for us Between three of us, we ordered Potato and Leek Soup (on special), Paneer Nurjahan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Navratan Korma, Onion Kulcha, 2 Garlic Naan, Mango Cheesecake, and Kulfi Falooda. I had at least a taste of everything except the chicken. Everything was amazing! I had ordered the paneer for myself but my favourite was actually the korma. I really liked the sweetness and texture of the whole raisins and cashew pieces. I liked the thick naan and appreciated that the breads came with complimentary achar - theirs was very pungent (in a good way). Note that this isn't a place where they ask for your preferred spice level; they have their recipes and the spiciness varies with each dish. Out of what we got, I think the paneer dish was the spiciest, but even that was around what I'd call a "medium", nothing was super hot. Very rich flavours all around though. I'm sure plenty of ghee was used in cooking but nothing had that greasy feel. We had quite a bit of leftovers, I think getting 2 mains and 2 breads would have been enough for the 3 of us, but it was nice to try many dishes. The desserts did not disappoint either. The mango cheesecake looked small but was dense and creamy, and not too sweet. The falooda had a nice floral flavour and smooth kulfi, nothing cheap or artificial-tasting. I had the Paan Masala drink, which was very unique. The paan flavour was very strong but there was a hint of spice too that balanced out the sweetness. If you like the taste of paan you will definitely like this, but I would also definitely recommend it if you want to try something different. I loved it! Highly recommended! This weekend we had a craving for Indian food and we decided to try Mirch Masala Indian restaurant. We ordered paneer tikka sizzler , dal makhani and naan roti . Overall experience was good as they have their patio open, ambience was light and the dining hours are really very convenient. Just for the food review, I have to say that the Dal makhani had a prominent garlic flavor which shouldn't be there. Naan and Butter roti were really soft and crunchy. Last but not the least was Paneer tikka sizzler , honestly i was a bit disappointed with that dish as the extra veggies like onion and capsicum were not cooked well in the flavours. Even the onions i felt were a bit more soggy and couldn't eat it . They can definitely work on the sizzler more . We ordered the chaat for the appetizer and it was delicious including presentation when you compare to any expensive indian restaurants. Followed by that we ordered chicken tikka masala and malai kofta with garlic naan.. the naan was amazing and the chicken curry is lacking the meat - it has more of green peppers than chicken, wish there was more meat but otherwise again the presentation is on point and one star less is because there is not enough chicken Malai kofta is also on point as it contains or you could easily recognize the ingredients you needed if you were to know the recipe - they are all clearly seen in the curry and the sauce was amazing! Somehow doesn't seem to make the list of "Best of Brampton" lists, yet in spite of some fairly high profile Indian restaurants either closing or struggling for consistency, Mirch Masala quietly stays around and never seems to have any problems staying busy. The plaza it's located in is not the most glamorous, but the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and in the upper tier in regards to most other Indian restaurants in the area. At present due to COVID, they've built a patio into the parking lot that looks really nice and that it belongs rather than just something makeshift. I'm quite surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet, and since I've been here so many times I won't bother listing what I've ordered previously. Rest assured, it's all been great. Ordered from Mirch Masala the other day. We ordered chicken tikka masala, palak paneer and dal makhani. All the dishes were amazing! The chicken tikka masala had a good spicy flavour! It's the best we've had in a long time! The Palak paneer and dal makhani was the same. Just full of great flavour! The naan was delicious as well! The service here was very good as well! The young lady who helped me was very nice. The restaurant is covid friendly that areas are blocked and only enough space for proper number of people, and for pick ups. While the service & presentation of food is good, they lose points heavily when it comes to taste. The only items I recommend is the Rajwadi Shake & Methi Malai Mutter. We were heading back to Toronto from the west and thought that since we would be passing Brampton anyway, why not go for Indian food! It was definitely a good call to come here, too, thanks to other Yelp reviews this pop up pretty near the top of the search list. Mirch Marsala's tandoori fish takki and butter chicken were both cooked well. Very filling sizeable portions. We saved a third of our meal for lunch tomorrow. Both of us ordered a naan, mine was an onion Kutcha and his was garlic. I always love Indian food for their rich flavours from all of the spices that they use in their cuisine. The staff was also friendly enough to help us both charge our iPhones! I would definitely come back and try more vegetarian options if I am out west again. Safe, good old comfort food. read more

This is one of our favourite spots for dinner... and it is very hard to beat in terms of the caliber of Indian food. The flavours are complex with discernibly fresh ground spices and lots of attention to detail. The dals, palak, all breads, lamb chops and much more are noteworthy. Everything is worth trying here. We haven't been through Brampton in a few months and have eaten at other Indian food places wherever we were that came highly recommended. After dinner tonight we realized once again that none of them can hold a candle to what we just ate here. They set the bar high. And we're not the only ones who think so. It's a busy place! Honestly the place looked pretty sketchy from the outside. It's located in the plaza by Queen and Rutherford where all the buildings look old and ugly. But when you walk inside, it's actually super clean and cozy. For dinner time, it wasn't busy at all. But hey, that created a perfect environment to catch up with my friend! I got the Kadai lamb dish with plain naan. It was super packed with flavour, and I was really happy with my choice. To be honest, I think I should've gotten rice instead of the naan just because I could mix the sauce into the rice (just a preference)! Ah well, I'll deff do that the next time. This is perhaps the best Indian restaurant I have experienced! It was a gorgeous evening sitting outside the patio, with great company and some of the best Indian food that I have tasted. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant that I've ever eaten at and I have been to several. The Naan was terrific as was the Paratha. We ordered an appetizer called Chopati Chat. Delicious. The Madras chicken was the best I've had. Vegetable Biryani was also delicious. **update Oct 11 - something has changed and I suspect that a new cook was in last night. Sorry but they've lost 2.5 stars. Chicken Madras was still good but the rest sucked really. The Aloo Parathas were over spiced and over cooked. Tandoori chicken was obviously pre cooked and reheated to serve. Something has happened here and judging by the fact that we were the only 4 in the restaurant at 6:00 pm, others have also found out what we have.
