I found this place by accident. I initially was looking for another restaurant but they were closed so while driving I spotted this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered the goat briyani. The girl at the counter was friendly and courteous. She took my order and said it'll be about a 15 min wait which was fine with me. I got my food and took it back to eat. When I opened the container it was fully packed. There was enough for me to have three meals. The rice smelled great. The rice tasted great too. The goat was cooked very nice. There was a generous amount of meat mixed in with the rice. Not too many pieces with bones either. It had a bit of spice it was the perfect amount to add to the flavour of the meal. We came here on a Saturday night around 7pm with a group of 5. There were not too many people inside, maybe only 2 other tables that were full. A part of the dining room was also closed. However there was lots of people coming in for take out so I think it is more of a take out place rather than a sit down. The service: they are very quick to take our orders and also very quick at serving us. We got our appetizers in probably 5 minutes of ordering and received our mains probably within 10 minutes after that. The food: we had ordered samosas and paneer pakoras as the appetizers. The samosas were ok but the paneers pakoras were amazing. It comes with 10 pieces per order which is very generous. We also ordered chicken Biryani, aloo gobi, paneer in a spicy cream sauce and a chicken curry. All of the dishes come with either rice or naan but we ordered it all with naan and also ordered a side of rice. The naan portions are very generous and the rice was perfectly seasoned. The aloo gobi was ok it lacked a bit of spice. Everything else was amazing though. The location: the restaurant is located directly on main and there are parking spots right in front however it is limited to only about 6 or 8 cars. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant but it is also very tight. Luckily in downtown Milton there are lots at every corner so finding parking near the restaurant isnt a problem. read more

Saw that this place had one of the highest ratings for Indian food in the area and had to try it out. My family and I got take out. We got the chef special biryani which comes with beef, chicken, lamb and shrimp. I also asked the waiter for a recommendation and she recommended the coconut based lamb curry. (It did not disappoint!) we also got 4 samosas on the side. All the food was super flavourful and rich. I loved the flavor of the lamb curry! The dishes also went great together. The total came out to under $40 and it was a filling meal for us. It's great value for your money, I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for Indian food! read more

Decor: 3/5 The exterior can use some remodeling or redecorating as it looks a bit old and rustic. There are by the window and booths closer to the kitchen. Regular tables in the middle. Clean place, but otherwise, nothing stood out to me in design. Food quality: 5/5 Very good, bold flavours. You can ask for mild or spicier, which everyone at the table appreciated. So many options to choose from for me. I had no problem with my seagan diet here. Everything came with lentils and/or chickpeas. My aloo gobi had crispy cauliflower and potatoes that were not too deep fried nor oily. The garlic naan was everything I wanted it to be and more!! I wish I knew how to many my own sauces! Service: 4/5 Staff checked in on us from time to time, refilled our waters and offered best value options right off the bat!! Nothing fancy, just welcoming. The Papri Chat appetizer is a burst of flavour and the perfect start to a meal. Food is always hot, fresh and tasty. Great service and fast! The lunch specials are very well priced and you get a variety of food in the special. Our family favourites are Butter Chicken, aloo gobie, the Saag Paneer and of course the samosas!! Yum!!! Finally a restaurant in Milton that lives up to its Yelp rating! Yesterday we ordered two orders of the tandoori chicken and the butter chicken. One thing that this restaurant needs to adapt to what customers want and be more flexible. The tandoori chicken order only came with a quarter leg. I wanted to get another quarter leg on the side but the lady said that wasn't possible. She stated that I would need to get two orders of the tandoori chicken dish. Ordering two would mean two salads and two more naans. You should be able to order extras on the side. The butter chicken is quite pricey at $12.99 for a small bowl. The food and service was good overall though! We will definitely return in the future if we are in the area and are craving Indian food. I'd be more inclined to go if they were more flexible. read more

Been meaning to write a review as this has become my favourite Indian restaurant in town. Food each and every time is delicious and perfectly spiced! We have tried many different things each time and I have been super pleased with each meal. The owner I believe is the waiter as well and he always makes you feel very welcome and very knowledgeable about all the options. At this point I have no need to eat Indian any where else in Milton as this is top notch! We finally made it for lunch one day and there was a meal consisting of smaller portions- it was really great as well. The garlic naan is one of the best I have ever had anywhere! I would say don't even bother going to another unnamed more expensive place in Milton as this one is going to exceed your expectations every time read more

We've been here about 5 times and each time was for take out since the dine in area is small and awkward. We always ordered the butter chicken, saag paneer (spinach with paneer cheese dish) and sometimes naan. All were good but we stopped going here because we started to realize that the price we were paying was high for the small portions that we were getting. About 2 of the times we came here, we used a coupon which helped but overall, pricy for the size of the dishes without the discount. That being said, unfortunately there aren't really any choices for good Indian food elsewhere in Milton - you'll need to go to Mississauga or downtown Toronto for bigger and better selection. read more

We were vary of returning after our not so pleasant experience in late 2014. But after being amazed by the food catered by them at a party, we decided to give it another try and been there twice in less than a month. We love the Minced Chicken Naan (stuffed). It's cooked to perfection and pairs nicely with any curry or even the mint chutney they offer. The Chicken Jaalfrezi, Daal Makhani and Daal Tadka also carries lot of flavor and just the right amount of spice (spicy level). The owners are very accommodating and allow late arrivals even if it means they have to stay back beyond closing time. It's cruel on our part but given they are the only decent Indian restaurant in Milton, we've been selfish. read more

Used to be my fav Indian restaurant. But after tonight, unfortunately I have second thought. Order their awesome veggie samosas. Came home and found out the tamarind sauce has spilled all over the bag. The lid was not closed properly. Called them to let them know about it. The "lady" immediately got defensive saying maybe I move it in my car. I told her I don't intend to ask for replacement. Understand they were busy (which was why it took more than 30 mins to complete an order of 10 samosas and chicken curry), and their kitchen staff may inadvertently forgot to close the lid properly. I also told her again, no replacement required but she may want to caution the kitchen staff. Put the tamarind sauce at the bottom or somewhere else. The manager got the phone. Telling me "I understand I understand, thank you for calling. Next time please don't be so rude when talking to a lady". That last part got me excited. Because of that, I asked for refund for the samosas ($5). He refused, told me he'd give me a couple extra samosas next time. So unnecessary. read more

No lie... this place is freaking awesome! Granted, I was absolutely famished by the time I dug in but I'm pretty sure had I not been, I still would have loved my meal. I came by on my break from work and ordered the vegetable thali and two veg samosas for take out. It rang up to only $10.03 and was.more than I could eat in one sitting. All of the items in the meal were incredibly tasty and just slightly spicier than ideal. I would be hesitant though to request less spice in case they'd dial it down too much because the flavour combinations were fantastic! In the future I will be sure to call my order in ahead of time because even though they apparently do quite a bit of take out business, this is certainly not a quick serve spot. This place usually hits the spot when I'm craving Indian. It's a small joint that treats me very well since I'm now a regular. They remember orders and the staff is very welcoming. There's tables and chairs that can be moved around for large groups and booths all along the walls on one side of the room to cater to dinner for 2. There's a TV that usually plays some Indian movie or on some Indian channel so you can watch while you wait. The parking is either right at the front (if there's a spot) or you'll have to drive around the back where it's also the parking for other businesses around so it can get a bit annoying with snow and such. It does get busy here for a small place but the staff are generally good at bringing your food out fast. They are courteous and apologize if it's delayed since they don't have more than 2 people working in dining area. It seems like it's always the same people so I get the sense it's a family owned business which is great because it's supporting a local business that provides quality food and service. The decor could use some sprucing but it's decent for a small local joint. Bathrooms are always clean but I do wish they had more than one stall. for dinner I usually have the Muttar & Mushroom which is just peas & mushroom in tomato sauce with rice OR the butter chicken with Naan. It's fantastic. Both dishes are creamy and seasoned well. The Mushroom dish is pasty so it goes well with the bread while the butter chicken sauce is just saucy enough to smother over rice without being too watered down. App:The onion bhaji and samosa's are quite good but they could really give you a bit more tamarind sauce. At lunch time they have a buffet which is good quality of food. The trays aren't big so it isn't produced for large amounts. This keeps the food fresh, warm and flavoured. The masala tea is nice but I can't see how you could mess up tea. I usually like to get this after a meal if I'm sitting for a bit with someone or if I want something sweet. They have the typical gulab jamans for the heavy sweet toothers but I'm not a big fan. Overall I like this place because it's the perfect fix to a night craving when you don't feel like making dinner and you are in sweats. Bombay Grill has become a regular haunt for our family. The food is very good, the service is fast, and the staff are extremely friendly. They've managed to turn our 10 and 6 year-old kids into fans of Indian food. The decor is fairly generic and forgettable, but the restaurant is clean and quiet. We've had a number of chicken and lamb dishes, vegetarian dishes including palak paneer, and all are good. The cucumber raita is excellent, as is the garlic naan. Here's a quick story about how Bombay Grill handled a mistake. It's very telling: On Saturday evening, my wife called in a big takeout order for me to pick up. When I got home and we unpacked the containers, we discovered it was the wrong order. It had been busy at the restaurant, and there'd been a mix-up. By the time I got home, the restaurant manager (owner?) had called us three times. When we called back, he apologized for the error, and quickly had a fresh order (not the original one that would have been cold) on the way to our house in a taxi, about 14 km/8 miles away. We called them again to thank them, say how impressed we were, and that we'd visit them again soon. Sometimes you're more impressed with a business after seeing how they handle a problem, than you would have been if there'd been no problem at all. We stopped here after Pumpkins in the Dark and I am so glad we did. Whatever minor quibbles there are with the relaxed atmosphere or layout are secondary to the truly great food. I've had my fair share of Indian across Ontario and this place really stood out for quality. Everything was so fresh, the dishes hit that perfect balance of spices and oils that made the flavours soar without drowning them. The Gulab Jamun was to die for. Really amazing food! I have traveled to India and this is the closest I have found to authentic. I have tried a variety of their dishes, they are all flavourful. The usual staple "Butter Chicken" that is so often bland in all other restaurants is rich and has the depth of fresh spices. The service is family friendly and fast. You don't go here for authentic Indian decor, however, but they've done a good job making it welcoming. After all, you are there to eat, not to gawk at the scenery. Our Valentines Day dinner was a disappointment. All the dishes were muddy, tasteless and over cooked. The lamb curry (goat) had a sauce that was almost indistinguishable from the chicken dish. I like okra (bindi) and frequently order it when out for a South Asia meal. This offering was so over cooked that it was hard to find a recognisable bit of the vegetable, There was none of the fresh green seed pods that I expect. Everything was a dull brown gooy mess with a few unpleasantly large chunks of potato. The tandoori chicken seemed to have had no contact with a tandoor, rather it seemed that the chicken was stewed in the thick sauce. The rice was good. the nan was OK. The best thing on the evening was the samosas. They ware plump, crisp and came with a tasty dipping sauce. read more

I found the food here to be incredibly pricey compared to other Indian restaurants I've tried around Ontario... but their paranthas made up for it all. I did take away and ordered WAY too much not knowing how large the portions are (I believe I ordered some sort of appetizer platter that was fit for about 10 people!!) but the food was tasty. I would and have returned. The stuffed paranthas are delicious. I could eat 400 of them. They were playing Indian tv on the screen above the kitchen. Fantastic! Veg pakora was very flavorful. Paneer pakora too. Among the four of us we shared lamb kabob, lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, and lamb curry. All were so good, we had none for later.
