    Palak paneer swimming in oil

Disappointed! Small party tray of palak paneer was like a oil pipeline rupture; it was bad enough that we had to take a picture as a reminder. Call Cafe Zauq; they agreed to replace. Well; when we went back we got two of the small boxes; family not impressed. Gets better; we all got stomach aches from the food. Unfortunately we will have to remove them from our list of preferred eateries to the very bottom.

Industrial grade food for sure, Cafe Zauq fills the neighbourhood demand with a huge selection of home style Indian-Pakistani food on a massive scale. No one was sitting around the dining area when we went on the weekend, although it would be no doubt a great food court strip mall style minimalist experience if you worked nearby and could stop in. Samosas are the measure of these west end GTA depots of spice and here Zauq hit the spot perfectly. They have a .60 veg samosa and for twenty cents more, a beef Sammy for $0.80 each. These were gobbled up mysteriously before I could get my hands on them but what I did try was the wrap, custom made with care taking a bit of time in the kitchen... it was massive and masterfully prepared, cut in two and arranged in a perfect fit takeout container. And the huge trays of deep fried (I guess) items like the Popsicle chicken and fish fingers I couldn't resist. They are sold by the pound so I got a pound of each. Got the red ones. Just then a fresh batch of beautiful golden brown with flecks of chilies on them was unceremoniously dumped on top and I had a sample of Lehore style and it was fantastic! Also, there is no real choice in seasoning from what I could tell, just point and order, you get the spice whether you like it or not, that's just the way it is at Zauq.

Excellent! The beef seekh kebabs are especially awesome! Just don't microwave them after you have taken them back home - makes them hard.

We got the Beef Curry, Chicken Curry, Butter Chicken, Aloo Matar, Matar Paneer, Naan and Samosa's. The Curry's were all great - the sauce was tasty, nicely spicy but not over the top. The Butter Chicken was good but wasn't my favourite, the Aloo Matar and Matar Paneer were good, and the Samosa's were fantastic. Ask for their tamarind chutney, as it "seemed" homemade and tasted very good. It was suggested that we only needed two orders of Rice for four people, we could have used at least three orders. It was suggested that four orders of Naan for four people, but two was sufficient. The prices were reasonable. We ordered the 5 dishes above plus two orders of rice, four Samosas and two orders of Naan, and we paid about $75. We would definitely go back and order from them again. They also have Indian Sweets, so if you like those, they seem to have a decent selection - although not as many in some of the bigger Toronto restaurants. My biggest concern about the restaurant is they are advertising cheap beer and wings on their roadside sign. I want to see them advertising good Indian food, as I hope this is the market they are catering too, and what they are striving to excel in.

I had a chance to try the jerk chicken tikka, a lamb dish, and the dilliwalla butter chicken. They make their in house desserts as well. Can't recommend this enough!

Hello, We a group…read moreof 12 went to KARMA Social Lounge In Milton ON for lunch. At the time we discussed it with the manager (Kunal) of Karma about if he could cater for us THALI/pp for our Diwali Event in two months. After our discussion he quoted $14-15/pp plus free delivery as our location for delivery is within the range where he delivers free. I must add that he said that in front of all of us. We agreed and said that we will make contact soon. So when I made contact and reminded him about our conversation & the quote, he began stalling me and didn't answer my text timely, I still kept sending message/requesting if he can tell me YES or NO if he wants to go ahead with this catering? He finally sent me a message after 7 days and said that he will charge $20/pp. I agreed to the price change made by him anyway. But, he kept stalling me and didn't answer my texts for 2-3 weeks. Finally, he sent me the names of the dishes in Thalis. I agreed to this and asked him $20/pp for 12 people, is there any other charge. He said that we have to pay delivery charges. When asked how much, he texted $40-50. All the conversation back & forth took about a month and still didn't sum up the order. The delivery charges that he imposed was a bizzar amt especially when quoted free delivery & the place is within the range where he delivers free. I want to describe the frustration which I had to go through with manager Kunal, he has no ethics as he is a new Canadian & been dealing with new Canadians only with their same old ethics from where he came from. This restaurant was fairly new when we gave him the business and all those reviews that you see on his web are only from those who know him. I will never give KARMA restaurant business again and neither will all 12 people, those who were present when he quoted with free delivery. The manager has to learn a lot about how we do business here in Canada!!

I always rely on Yelp reviews over google and was very skeptical to try them as the ratings were pretty bad but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the halwa puri platter with Kheema it was really really good I mean you can't compare it to ones you get in Pakistan but I would give it a solid 8.5/10 for portion size, flavor, the puris were soft and not soaked in oil, the curries were tasty. The halwa however can be better, it lacked sweetness so I added a bit of Splenda and it did the trick. The chai was excellent too. The price point is good. They have a variety of items from burgers to much more I would next time try a chicken burger similar to zinger that many people were ordering. I went in on a weekend around 2-3 pm it was still pretty busy. The place is nice and done up cute. It was clean, I never used their bathroom. Service was quick. So nothing really unpleasant to report. Lots of parking too. Will definitely come back for more.

It's gold accented and comfortable chairs and booths. The bathroom reminds me of a Walmart or gas station for some reason, so that could be a bit better. The service/cashier was no different than a small cafe. We had the Kashmiri chai and the doodh pathi. The Kashmiri chai was okay and not bad, but doodh pathi was far superior. I would come here instead of going 30 minutes to Ridgeway to get a decent cup of bazaar chai. Only thing I'd suggest is getting these in to-go cups, even if they say no, because you get a little more chai than you do in the matka clay cup, which is cute, but we all want a little more chai at the end of the day.
