We were in the area so we decided to stop and get some Indian. I've had a good experience when I dined at the Richmond Hill joint, which is why we picked this location. It did not live up to our expectations, however. I believe our mistake was choosing the Bombay royal platter (paired with garlic naan). Despite the restaurant serving just two tables at the time, the wait time for the dish was about 40 minutes. We were informed that the platter takes more time than other dishes, so our expectations were quite high. When it arrived, we found the meats to be dry, even with the addition of sauces and chutney. The seekh kebabs were particularly underwhelming. For $39 it was definitely not worth the price. I think that's on us. I should've gotten paneer instead. You live and learn, I guess. read more

We have had Bombay as our go to restaurant in Burlington for years! Perhaps they have new owners/chef or recipes, but our take out dinner on January 19th was abominable. The butter chicken had NO sauce and the chicken what little there was was tough. We also had an item called butter chicken dumplings which was store bought frozen dumplings again with a tiny but of sauce on them. The malai kofta on the other hand was a container FULL of sauce and 3 small pieces. Sad to say that we may have to look for another indian restaurant in the area. I have now order from Bombay Chutney twice and have requested delivery from Uber Eats. Both times they have screwed up the order and the Uber Eats person has had to leave without the food. When I called the restaurant they said that the Uber person had picked up the meal. This was NOT the case. They lied! The Uber guy left because the restaurant couldn't get the order right. This restaurant has no idea how to service the delivery customers. I won't be ordering from here again. read more

This is easily one of the best restaurants in Burlington. Pick anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed, but make sure you get naan with the meal. Yesterday evening, I had a family outing where we ordered Bhel puri, a Hot Appetizer Platter, and mango lassi. In terms of taste, the lassi was delicious, while the bhel puri turned out to be overly sweet due to the use of only red tamarind chutney. Stopped at this place to get some last min take out and not sorry i did. The food was delicious. Ordered baingan burtha (grilled and mashed eggplant with spices) and one of the chicken curries. Both items were delicious and for once not swimming in oil as is common at Indian food places. I'm health conscious and this is important to me. I also got the fish pakoras which were surprisingly juicy, fluffy and perfectly spiced fritters. I made it clear i only have 15 min to wait and they made sure my order was done in time. Oh and the packaging for the take out is awesome. Instead of lids, they are sealed on top with clear cellophane. No spills! I'll be returning with my family for dinner one day to explore the other appetizing menu items. ;) read more

This is one of my favorite restaurant in Burlington. I've probably either sat in or picked up food two dozen times over the past 5 years and I've yet to have a bad experience. Pre-pandemic the service was really good. Now I mostly do pickup, but they package things really well and make it easy to do takeout. Portions are decent, they seem a bit high but they use quality ingredients and spices and it shows in the flavour. Since the prices for the non-vegetarian curries are a little higher, I recommend trying to mix in a vegetarian curry (maybe Baingan Bharta) as one of your dishes. Keep it up! read more

AVOID this restaurant. My experience is as follows: FOOD POISONING. When I called to discuss the fact several of my guests became sick only after eating here, the owners daughter hung up the phone on me. I was not swearing, my voice was not raised, I was calm and I only wanted to discuss the issue at hand. I understand these things can happen. I was not being unreasonable. One of my guests is a 7 year old child who required medical attention the following day. I will never be ordering from here again. The following is not because I'm angry, I'm over it, but based on fact - the food is overpriced and portion sizes too small. Quality was so-so (I'm South Asian, familiar with the food). It's not a good thing your restaurant became a topic of discussion on a personal chat group with over 40 members, majority of them from Halton region. This restaurant has lost a lot of customers, not just myself. A review of Google's reviews tells me this restaurant has a lot of friends and family posting fake reviews as well. read more

Amazing food as always. This has been our favourite Indian restaurant for over a year since we moved to the area. We were venturing out for dinner here multiple times per week. In my opinion it WAS a 5-star venue. Unfortunately, quite recently they've raised their prices (in the realm of a 20-30% increase) and it has made it simply not viable. For two people to dine in, you're looking at a minimum $60. Still highly recommend this place as a once-in-a-while. read more

I brought my mother and nanny here for dinner. My nanny is FROM Bombay. I have been raised on her cooking and it is amazing. This place is a very weak display of indian food. Lots of it is toned down or substituted to make it more palatable for "average customers" . The manager, if you want to call him that, practically forced us to order certain things and was very confusing (not because of his accent) and the girls who were amazing waitresses by the way seemed opressed. Stale appetizers were served. When we complained to the person who seemed like the owner, he just argued back that it was fresh and we didn't know what we were talking about. The paneer makhni is to die for. The staff and owners are friendly. The only thing I would not recommend is the chai.
