We were in the area so we decided to stop and get some Indian. I've had a good experience when I dined at the Richmond Hill joint, which is why we picked this location. It did not live up to our expectations, however. I believe our mistake was choosing the Bombay royal platter (paired with garlic naan). Despite the restaurant serving just two tables at the time, the wait time for the dish was about 40 minutes. We were informed that the platter takes more time than other dishes, so our expectations were quite high. When it arrived, we found the meats to be dry, even with the addition of sauces and chutney. The seekh kebabs were particularly underwhelming. For $39 it was definitely not worth the price. I think that's on us. I should've gotten paneer instead. You live and learn, I guess. read more

We have had Bombay as our go to restaurant in Burlington for years! Perhaps they have new owners/chef or recipes, but our take out dinner on January 19th was abominable. The butter chicken had NO sauce and the chicken what little there was was tough. We also had an item called butter chicken dumplings which was store bought frozen dumplings again with a tiny but of sauce on them. The malai kofta on the other hand was a container FULL of sauce and 3 small pieces. Sad to say that we may have to look for another indian restaurant in the area. They also have raised their prices and no longer include naan or rice with entrees, which they always used to do Please return to the way you used to be! read more

Food and service is excellent and I have been going there for than 10 years. I love their Malai kofta

I have now order from Bombay Chutney twice and have requested delivery from Uber Eats. Both times they have screwed up the order and the Uber Eats person has had to leave without the food. When I called the restaurant they said that the Uber person had picked up the meal. This was NOT the case. They lied! The Uber guy left because the restaurant couldn't get the order right. This restaurant has no idea how to service the delivery customers. I won't be ordering from here again. read more

Curries are ok not that great! Will be waiting for them to give the quality food as I have heard a lot of good things about this restaurant

This is easily one of the best restaurants in Burlington. Pick anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed, but make sure you get naan with the meal. Easily the best naan I've ever had, and trust me I've been everywhere around the GTA. Staff are always friendly, food is great, what else can I say. Honestly one of my favourites. read more

Stopped at this place to get some last min take out and not sorry i did. The food was delicious. Ordered baingan burtha (grilled and mashed eggplant with spices) and one of the chicken curries. Both items were delicious and for once not swimming in oil as is common at Indian food places. I'm health conscious and this is important to me. I also got the fish pakoras which were surprisingly juicy, fluffy and perfectly spiced fritters. I made it clear i only have 15 min to wait and they made sure my order was done in time. Oh and the packaging for the take out is awesome. Instead of lids, they are sealed on top with clear cellophane. No spills! I'll be returning with my family for dinner one day to explore the other appetizing menu items. ;) read more

Yesterday evening, I had a family outing where we ordered Bhel puri, a Hot Appetizer Platter, and mango lassi. In terms of taste, the lassi was delicious, while the bhel puri turned out to be overly sweet due to the use of only red tamarind chutney. The items in the platter were undercooked and lacked flavor, resulting in a rather tasteless experience!!! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurant in Burlington. I've probably either sat in or picked up food two dozen times over the past 5 years and I've yet to have a bad experience. Pre-pandemic the service was really good. Now I mostly do pickup, but they package things really well and make it easy to do takeout. Portions are decent, they seem a bit high but they use quality ingredients and spices and it shows in the flavour. Since the prices for the non-vegetarian curries are a little higher, I recommend trying to mix in a vegetarian curry (maybe Baingan Bharta) as one of your dishes. Keep it up! read more

AVOID this restaurant. My experience is as follows: FOOD POISONING. When I called to discuss the fact several of my guests became sick only after eating here, the owners daughter hung up the phone on me. I was not swearing, my voice was not raised, I was calm and I only wanted to discuss the issue at hand. I understand these things can happen. I was not being unreasonable. One of my guests is a 7 year old child who required medical attention the following day. I will never be ordering from here again. The following is not because I'm angry, I'm over it, but based on fact - the food is overpriced and portion sizes too small. Quality was so-so (I'm South Asian, familiar with the food). It's not a good thing your restaurant became a topic of discussion on a personal chat group with over 40 members, majority of them from Halton region. This restaurant has lost a lot of customers, not just myself. A review of Google's reviews tells me this restaurant has a lot of friends and family posting fake reviews as well. read more

Fish Pakoras were very nicely done. Had Potato dumplings in cashew sauce very well made. Lamb vindaloo was uninspired. Nice staff. I had the eggplant in the mississauga location which was nice. read more

Amazing food as always. This has been our favourite Indian restaurant for over a year since we moved to the area. We were venturing out for dinner here multiple times per week. In my opinion it WAS a 5-star venue. Unfortunately, quite recently they've raised their prices (in the realm of a 20-30% increase) and it has made it simply not viable. For two people to dine in, you're looking at a minimum $60. Still highly recommend this place as a once-in-a-while. read more

I have been here a couple of times ... the first time I ordered a lamb biryani and they got me a chicken biryani ... I was in a hurry so I just took it... second even better they got me a lamb biryani but very first time in my life I had a watery biryani .... the most disgusting biryani ever .... and they were in a hurry of closing down and the waitress says yeah that is how their biryani is .. and it took me by surprise yeah Punjabi biryani is different but still ... watery ... biryani ??? read more

Delicious curries! We tried the beef samosa, chicken tikka masala, beef korma with rice and naan. Love the naan - it was fresh and hot and light. We had everything medium spicy which was perfect for me. read more

Good food. Their takeout food is what we prefered. We used to live very close and ordered take-out a lot. We moved away. So recently when back in Burlington I decided to take my mother for lunch and we dined in (1st and only time) won't do that again. The restaurant was near empty but still didn't get adequate service. read more

Best Indian food I've had in the area. Butter chicken and samosas are my favourites, and the sauce that comes with the samosas is delicious!

This restaurant is my sons favourite and never disappoints. The food is always great and our service has always been timely. Good value for your money. read more

The food is great but we waited over an hour for food. No apology, no one came to give us any info on what's going on. Finally got a server to come and asked to get our drinks compensated. We got a no. It was two cans of pop as everyone else had water! The portions were ridiculously small. read more

Food was ok. Service was horrible. There was one waitress for the whole entire restaurant. We had to keep having to calm her over for service. I would not come back read more

My all-time favourite Indian place! Usually get takeout, and the takeout service is incredible and always fast and warm when we get home! Service is excellent and the food is phenomenal! read more

Great food, quick and friendly service. I've been a few times with my kids and the staff are very accommodating to "down spice" their entrees. Chicken vindaloo is my fave here. Great take out also. read more

I brought my mother and nanny here for dinner. My nanny is FROM Bombay. I have been raised on her cooking and it is amazing. This place is a very weak display of indian food. Lots of it is toned down or substituted to make it more palatable for "average customers" . The manager, if you want to call him that, practically forced us to order certain things and was very confusing (not because of his accent) and the girls who were amazing waitresses by the way seemed opressed. Get your act together! read more

Not a huge fan of Indian food but this place is my favourite when I'm in the mood for certain Indian dishes such as their fish Tikka or their Seekh kababs. Their bread and naans are great too! Very clean environment. read more

I personally dine at Bombays often with my friends and loved ones. And when i do recommend this spot to my food lovers, never do I let them down. From what I know everything on the menu is delicious. Portions are wholesome. Service is consistant. I truly have nothing bad to say about Bombay Chutney. If your feeling exotic and in the area I assure you that there is no better then Bombay Chutney. read more

Not real Indian food. Did takeout a couple of times and the food was at least 2 days old. Still decided to give it one final shot and went with the family to dine in. Not at all impressed. Stale appetizers were served. When we complained to the person who seemed like the owner, he just argued back that it was fresh and we didn't know what we were talking about. Obviously never going back. The place isn't cheap either. read more

Some of the best take out in Burlington. Quick, well priced and always top quality. Flavours are on point and the get the heat just right. Keep up the great work! read more

This is our go-to Indian place. We have tried several other Indian restaurants in the area and this is by far the best. We have tried many dishes on the menu and they are all great. The paneer makhni is to die for. The staff and owners are friendly. The only thing I would not recommend is the chai. I ordered it once hoping for an authentic milky chai tea but it is more of a tea bag in hot water chai tea. read more

Food was straight outa hell ! seemed they had just thrown in a bunch of chilli powder with the food and not bothered to check the taste before serving. i've travelled extensively in india and know what real indian food tastes like - this is a terrible representation. when i brought this to the attention of the stone faced server she rudely stated that this is what Indian food tastes like - BAD food and the WORST customer service - Im not coming back here ! read more
